GROWTH HACKING

Building a list is an important skill when launching products and promoting products. Here are a couple of ways to growth hack building a list:

1) Subscribe people that email you
2) Offer something of value in exchange for someone's email
3) After someone subscribes to your list, offer them an additional eBook, video or something of value if they invite 5 of their friends to join your list.
4) Host a webinar and collect email addresses when people register
5) Hold an online contest and have people sign up by entering their email address
6) Do a deal with someone selling a product that complements what you have on offer. After someone purchases their product offer your bonus item in exchange for their email address

Do you guys monitor your list building and actively look to grow the number of people joining your list each day?

  The OP had a ton of great tips, all very useful methods, but I am also biased toward Solo Ads.
  
  I invested a few G's into solo ads over the last 2 months, and now I have a list that can deliver between 300 - 500 clicks per day and a new business that's generating between $4000 - $5000 in monthly revenue. I'm re-investing that profit for more growth so that I can deliver more clicks (and therefore generate more revenue). The best part is that this is only the beginning!

Giveaways are the best way to go as long as you can target people with your giveaway. Best to grow your list and grow followers and fans all at once. Only giveaways can accomplish that easily by the thousands over a period of days.

People think social fans are just for show but I get over 30% daily traffic, it's all about how you interact and present yourself. Social fans are a list as well, just able to reach them on social networks they hang out on. Let your followers, fans and subscribers know you are everywhere.

Great tips!

Another good way is using integration marketing. All the pages in your funnel are basically virtual real estate which can be used for promotions to help build your list. Swapping funnel clicks wll be something we introduce to the community and will definately be used more foten to build a list.

Every possibility to interact with your subscribers should be taken, and every click in your funnel is more valuable than any other forced click because the person shows real interest in the offer.

Email list growth hacking at it's best.

banner advertisement works ...

You can go to a place like buysellads.com or just contact people who own forums your target subscribers hang out...then buy a monthly banner ad.

A new method that has been made available through Google+ is to send out an opt-in to your Circles with "Send an email" checked.

A good incentive is still a must, as some may view this as spammy, even though they have given permission to receive that email.

Segmenting your circles and sending highly-targeted opt-ins for specific funnels to each circle is how you can optimize on this strategy.

The tell a friends concept worked great for Harrys. That takes some planning as many Web hosts do not allow those types of scripts. That company was already large enough to control its own servers.

I have done this a few times, none of it is rocket science, but you do need some technical expertise and most hosting providers will let you run this.

The first tip is what I used most. I subscribed people that emailed me to my list. They have the option to unsubscribe, but most of them don't.

People assume social fans area unit only for show however i buy over half-hour daily traffic, it's all concerning however you act and gift yourself. This is something I'm seeing all over the place now. For example, using points for each subscriber they refer and offering more enticing bonuses when they reach certain numbers.

This strategy was the gist for a recent WSO product. Alaister saved everyone on this thread some money with this strategy

Alaister, I use the traditional method/formula:

Great content (to build visitor confidence)
+ Traffic to such content (paid or organic)
+ Compelling reason to subscribe
+ Crystal clear calls-to-action
+ A good form/pop up to capture subscribers
= Massive email list

I'm pretty sure this violates the rules of a lot of the autoresponders. I added a bunch of people to a list this way, and the next day I received some warnings from getresponce and mailchimp that you can't add people to a list without their consent.

The rest of the methods you listed are great though! Good stuff.

A great way of building a promising list is to target the audience using social media sites like linkedin and twitter and offer something similar so they gave up the contacts. This is one of the cheapest and time efficient method. you can make a thousand within couple week and only spending about 10 minutes of your daily time.
