I'm hoping that someone using Market Samurai paid version can give everyone an idea as to its value and how well it works.

Thanks

It works pretty well, I don't think I've come across a product which can do what it does, it's probably the most complete tool of it's kind.

That said, right now, I find it flaky, it can hang " a lot" ,it can often be very slow, but they are fixing things constantly, almost every time I login it downloads a new version.

All in all, pretty impressive, if your running PPC etc, I can recommend it, just hope they iron out the kinks.

I'll second that, it's incredible even with only half the functions enabled so far. I believe it goes live this week when the price goes up quite a bit. I haven't really used it to it's full potential but i believe it will be indispensible.

Go to the site and have a look at the vids, better still go to youtube and watch the 30daychallenge training vids for it.

I dont have time for all the hanging it does. Everytime I tried to get it to work, it would never complete the functions especially with google.

It has gone into my internet scrap heap which is getting big.

Are you using the latest version? It used to hang with the old versions but I haven't had any problems recently. It might be the volume of data you're trying to pull in.

If you can tell me a tool that can do everything MS can do i'd love to hear about it.

Just installed it Joshua. It's in beta, but if it works as I've seen it demonstrated and the functionality delivers as promised, it will be a SERIOUS tool. Just make sure you dont irritate Google though - it does some serious interrogation that would take you hours or days to correlate.

Stay with it. The promise is there.

Market Samurai is awesome, even with all its initial bugs. Not only do you get keywords, but you get an SEO analysis of any keyword you choose.

Another big thing - if you are anything like me, you can easily get diverted when trying to do your own analysis. And soon you are off on another tangent! Plus, I know I could never gather and crunch as much data as Market Samurai does.

I was fortunate enough to be able to grab a copy at the reduced price. I think tomorrow may be the last day to get in on that offer. So, if you are interested, you may want to check it out.

Great tool! The best to date!

The best thing I can tell a new warrior is to try the trail. I have use thousands of dollars of keyword tools and free ones too and if your time is money well ... just give the trial a try.

I do have to come clean though. Once I have done my research and narrowed it down to a niche I still use the other tools I have purchased to help validate my research. I guess I have to justify why I purchased them.

LOL - do you end up finding any differences??

Market Samurai gives me a heads up when entering into a market... if I want to go for a specific keyword phrase, I just "analyze" with the SEO Competition module and see if first page is attainable. If there's something more I value at this point of my life than money is time, and MS saves many man hours.

This takes HOURS off market research. I'm chucking all of the other research tools I've been using. MS also sends out regular emails with new tricks and ways to use the program. They have been constantly updating as they find things that can be improved.

Definitely look at Guru Bob's videos mentioned above. I haven't had it hang on me but you do need to be careful about hitting Google too much. That hasn't been a huge problem - definitely not as much as with similar services I've used.

When this first come out I was disappointed to be honest with. However, several updates have been made and it's now definitely up there with the rest.

Don't forget that all keyword tools have a heavy dependency on estimation, so don't expect Market Samurai to break away from the pack any time soon.

Having said that, it is a great product. When you consider the 30DC association, it's going to be a something that must work from here on, so I'd advise anyone that's interested to at least give it a look.

Mike Mindel will tell you that Wordtracker bases results on estimation, and anyone that runs PPC campaigns will know how accurate Google are with their traffic figures.

At the end of the day, it's a very hand tool to have in your kit. We all want our research done quickly, and MS combines a number of otherwise time consuming elements and presents them all from one very tidy interface.

        Well worth a look.

          Hi,

For those of you are considering to buy it, I suggest you take a look at the

          Video Tutorials - Noble Samurai

You will see the functions that MS offers. For under $70 (one time), it's pretty good in my opinion. i think the "hang" is really nothing to do with the software itself, but rather, the bulk load of data it pulls from google and elsewhere.

Give it a go, you should not regret with the investment, assuming you are going to use the data well. At the end of the day, it's just a tool.

        Hi Jean...

It's important to understand that Market Samuari and Traffic Secrets are two different things. Sure, they both help with getting traffic... but Market Samuari is about using ONE tactic (search engine optimization SEO), where Traffic Secrets teaches all kinds of tactics to get traffic.

        Here's an example...
Traffic Secrets is like an overall manual of how to fix a car. It goes into some detail about all areas. So it's great to learn about everything about getting traffic.

Market Samuari on the other hand is like a manual about how to change the tires on a car. A specific aspect to fixing car.

Both are good to have for different reasons.

        I hope that helps,

I've only been using it for a week or so, but Market Samurai sure seems to provide you with information that would be incredibly difficult to find elsewhere, or would at least take you a huge amount of time to find. It's not all the way there, so if you're thinking that you're getting a highly polished tool, probably not. That's probably why it's so cheap. Their sales letter says it's going up once everything is completely worked out. Anyway, even if it still has a few bumps, it well worth the price...

        You're comparing apples and oranges.

Traffic Secrets is like your Map, while Market Samurai is your car.

You can do all the things Market Samurai does "manually" by using a few different tools in conjunction with each other (like Google External Keyword Tool, SEODigger.com, WordTracker, SEO for FireFox, Content Rover or Orwell and on and on). What Market Samurai does is to simplify and automate a lot of the research process.

So to further the analogy of the car, doing it manually is like walking while Market Samurai is like driving a car. You'll get to your destination, but one will get you there a lot quicker than the other.

Traffic Secrets on the other hand is a course on various aspects of Traffic Generation... sort of like a road map (to again use the analogy above). It gives you a very good foundation to the various aspects of traffic generation...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Market Samurai can help you do a lot of the things Traffic Secrets teach more efficiently.

        Hope this made sense...

    I love this tool.

There are some things in regards to functionality that I dislike, but as to what it can do... it's simply awesome!

It takes all the different tasks and programs I used to use and put it into one piece of software. It's literally helped me save hours (probably dozens of hours) in the last few weeks.

Yeah, the bugs are a little bit of a hassle, but when this product is working correctly, I love it. I did the reverse of most marketers (started in PPC, and am now taking a greater interest in SEO), and the keyword/competition research function was sweet. Not exactly stuff you can't do anywhere else - it's just that it was nice to have it all so streamlined and in one place.

Figured I'd chime in. Just bought it a day or so ago. Right now it's a bit buggy - but the thing has only been out a month or so as I understand it. I was originally hesitant about the Adobe Air platform that it requires. But, being a 30 Day Challenge participant, it was hard to pass up their offer.

As for it being buggy - it's enough to annoy me at times - but not enough to make me quit using it.

I currently use a number of other tools to accomplish the same tasks that MS can do. HOWEVER, the ability to have it all "under one roof" is really nice and the Find Content feature is just flat out worth the price alone in my opinion.

There's a LOT of information that it can gather and present. BUT there's no clearly defined and readily available explanation as to what they all mean and how they're derived aside from listening to a LOT of video tutorials. It's there - you just have to work at finding it. I think it should be plain as day.

So, while I'd recommend the product - I'd also recommend that the developers concentrate on cleaning up the bugs and adding some documentation / help features BEFORE releasing any new functionality.

This software rocks! I got it last night. You guys know I'm a research junkie and this product helps tremendously.

The only thing that bugs me is after I do some in depth analyzation of a huge group of keywords I wish I could add the keywords I want to use to some sort of separate file/tab all in one. You can delete keywords and open them up one by one, but it's a pain. (that probably doesn't make any sense to anyone, lol)

Overall...this is well worth it. It's actually going to replace something I was paying monthly for!

Just got mine installed, only began playing with it for a few days.

Noticed the frequent "Hanging" due to clicking on all the options like SEO Digger and Adwords.

However, the suggested option from Noble Samurai to keep the searches under 150 keywords actually speeds things up to a certain extend, better than staring "Blanking" at the static % bar.

Overall this software is better than the last keyword research tool i bought and its from some big name guru too.

Can't wait for the additional "Monetisation" module.

BTW, if you paid $149 for it, the guys at Noble Samurai will actually refund $80 into your PAYPAL account as a token of appreciation, totally COOL!

    Hi Russell,

Apologies, got my maths a bit wrong, $149-$87(instead of the original price of $69) = $62.

They refunded $62 instead of $80 into my PAYAPL account, my mistake.

Here's the email they send me.

    Hi Derrick,
I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that we've just paid $62 into your PayPal account.
There are no catches – we just wanted to look after you.
You see, Ed Dale is about to launch a special offer to people who missed out on our $69 special. They will be able to get Market Samurai for $87 – but only for 72 hours, until Saturday the 20th of September.
Normally we don't do "second chance" offers – when a Samurai special offer ends, it's final.
But because you've already bought Market Samurai at $149, it's only fair if we look after you, and refund the difference in price.
As I said, we wanted to look after you, and do the right thing for you.
I hope this helps you out.

I don't get it. If everyone here is happy so far, why are there so many unanswered post on their site by the company? Has anyone checked this out? It is their site, you would think they would at least post replies...

          Hi theredcell,

I reckon if you have not done any form of market research prior to using Market Samurai, you will be totally "Lost" using the interface.

This is mostly due to the fact that there are so many different types of abrv. they use in the interface and not all of these abrv. are self explainatory.

There is a certain learning curve for this powerful software.

I personally feel that the support and video tutorials at Noble Samurai are not that fantastic as compared to the software itself.

And since it is still in its Beta stage, some of the functions are still "Flaky", having the tendancy to "Hang" quite often if the keyword list is too large.

Perhaps the team at Noble Samurai believe that their top most priority is to iron out all the bugs in the software. That would answer all the problem related questions in the forum once and for all.

Head down to youtube and search for market samurai video tutorials made by Ed Dale & GurBob of thirtydaychallenge.com. Their videos are very educational if you wish to master this software effectively.

But overall, the time & cost savings you get from market research, finding backlinks and spying on your competition is among one of the better ones on the market.

          Hope that helps.

          Cheers

Something I noticed about Market Samurai, is the data is not accurate, I found that when I searched a list of keywords and reviewed the ppc pricing, it was wildly inaccurate. Some clicks it says are sub $.30 were $4 and above.

I found that within a couple of niches. I compared with Keyword Elite, and found that it has similar flaws in producing accurate data.

Coupled with the fact that outside of UK or US you need to use an IP Cloaker or similar to get any data at all, which slows the tool down and/or adds to your costs. I am not 100% satisfied.

yeh i aslo found the search data to be very inconsistant with any other tool that i would compare with ! especially google's own traffic tool. but then again how acurate are google's own search results. way off and i would take ANY of them witha pinch of salt and draw your own conclusions. but be wary of the lower search terms you are going after because if your looking for very small or even micro niche keywords that can be devastating (being out by 300/500 for a keyword that is targeting small search terms can mean the difference between making some money and making zero money. minted1

    Hi Guys,

I received an email recently letting me know about this thread.

Firstly, thanks for all the great things you've been saying about Market Samurai! I'm glad that we could deliver something that people thought was worth talking about.

Thank-you in particular to Derekis, tommyfocus, Davmac40, reapr, Jenn Dize, SMazinTX, Fender85, StevenR, RonRea, netpro7, carik42, James Schramko, Rich Muir, nine-yards, capriliz, Urbanfox, naonline, Devan Koshal, and SimonHarrison for ALL of your great feedback! (A lot of members to thank!)

It seems like there are also a lot of questions, so hopefully I can answer some of them for you...

I'll let others give their opinions on which tool is more powerful (I'm a little biased ). Market Samurai uses data direct from Google for Keyword Generation, and estimates of PPC bid prices, clicks per day, traffic per day (hence also Click Through Rate), etc etc.

Originally Posted by jj88 View Post

Market Samurai is $149 one-off (with a free 40-day trial)

I believe Affiliate Elite is currently $39.95 per-month (or $4.95 for first 30 days - I believe it used to be $179)

If it were me, I'd pay the $5 for Affiliate Elite, get the Market Samurai free trial, and try both out for a month.

Not that I know of, but I'm sure someone else can confirm.

It did previously sell for $179 with a $39.95 per month subscription. Maybe this is the $100+ figure you're thinking of?

Originally Posted by Steve Porcaro View Post

Anyone who purchases Market Samurai right now gets free access to all support and updates - including all new features.

We probably will sell Market Samurai on a subscription arrangement in the future - but right now we're rewarding people for getting in early by offering a big discount, and no recurring fees.

You're right - Market Samurai will always show different data to the Google Keyword tool, and Wordtracker.

This is because Wordtracker uses estimates of traffic levels, and Market Samurai uses Google's own data.

The reason for big variances between Google's Keyword Tool and Market Samurai is because Market Samurai shows daily search data (not monthly, like in Google's keyword tool.)

    It was true.

We put $62 back into the PayPal accounts of several dozen purchasers.

This was because we made a special offer that was $62 less than what some people had recently paid.

So we looked after these people.

We refunded $62 back into their PayPal accounts, and sent them emails (like the one you read in the thread here) so that nobody would be worse off as a result of buying early.

    You're right.

If you're having trouble with the abbreviations, we've put together a quick-reference glossary recently.

    You can find it here:

Yes - there have been probably 6 updates in the past few weeks that seem to have solved *most* issues.

There are two issues which Andrew, our top developer, is working on right now (I expect he'll have these ones licked by mid next week).

But judging by the tiny number of support requests we're receiving right now, it seems like Market Samurai's running pretty solidly as a result of the recent updates.

Yes! The guys did fantastic work on their videos.

Did you know that they have been involved with Market Samurai from the start?

GuruBob's input in particular was critical to making the workflow inside Market Samurai so fast. This is why it saves so much time.

Make sure you're looking at the right data source.

Market Samurai gets its Cost-Per-Click data from Adwords itself - not the Google Keyword Tool (which shows slightly different CPC data).

Adwords pricing is more accurate than the Google Keyword Tool pricing. The Google Keyword Tool pricing seems more like an indicative price estimate that is updated monthly, but Adwords data is updated much more regularly, and is designed to reflect the current market for a specific keyword.

That's why we use the different data source.

Originally Posted by easycashmethod View Post

I'm not sure where Keyword Elite is getting their data from, or how often it is updated (perhaps someone could advise?)

Market Samurai is getting up-to-date data live from Google Adwords on CPC estimates.

If there's a discrepancy, personally I would trust the raw data.

Originally Posted by theredcell View Post

All of these have since been answered.

There was a 10-day period in September where we had thousands of new users download Market Samurai, and about 40% of them purchase the full version.

During this period, we also received thousands of enquiries - and we simply couldn't keep up with all of the enquiries coming into our Help Desk and our forums.

It took us several weeks to get back to our previous fast response times, which was sad because if you Google "market samurai" "customer service" you'll see that there are glowing reviews of our team's customer service on forums and blogs.

One blogger even held us up as the poster-child of what great customer service should look like

Unfortunately, we became victims of Market Samurai's success - we never expected to have a 40%+ conversion rate, and for about a month we were working 20 hour days, 6-7 days a week just to stay afloat with all of the sales. So when September's rush of sales came in, we drowned for a while.

    Yes - this is correct.

The workflow behind Market Samurai is that you use the filters to cull your keyword list down to a small number of keywords, and analyze those to find the keyword(s) that have the weakest competition... And then attack those keywords.

Some people use different workflows, although we've tried to make Market Samurai reasonably flexible so that it can accommodate most people's individual needs.

The major reason why SEO Analysis needs to be done on a keyword-by-keyword basis is because if you do too many in a short space of time, you can have troubles gathering data after being banned by Google.

    Good question!

    As naonline said:

There are 8 planned modules inside Market Samurai (4 of which have already been released), and currently there is no single tool does the same things that Market Samurai does - in fact, there are features inside Market Samurai that you won't find in any other tools.

So you would need to buy individual tools for Keyword Research, SEO Competition Analysis, Finding Content, Link Building, Affiliate Monetization, Adwords, etc etc etc...

Having said that there are some good tools in all of these areas...

Keyword research - I still have my Wordtracker account, and use it regularly. I've been using it alongside "early versions" of Market Samurai for years. What Wordtracker is brilliant at doing is finding long-tail keyword derivatives. In this area, it kicks every other tool's butt.
I prefer Market Samurai for keyword synonyms and short-tail derivatives though.

I pay $329 per year for my Wordtracker subscription (discounted for paying annually).

SEO Competition analysis - SEO Spyglass is the only other piece of software I've seen that is in the same ballpark as Market Samurai.

I own SEO Spyglass and paid $87 for it.

(Note: If you want SEO Spyglass, Google it. There are two offers online for tools called "SEO Spyglass" - one for $87, one for $147. The one you want is on the "Link Assistant" web-site ($87) - The other one is $147, and I'm not sure whether it's the same.)

Link Building - I don't think there are any tools that will do it all. SEO Spyglass will do qualitative analysis on your competitors backlinks (like Market Samurai) which is handy if you want to get links from the same sources.

I'm trying to remember the names of the Trackback/Pingback and Link Building tools I used to use before Market Samurai and coming up blank... Each tool was about $70-$140 from memory. Perhaps someone else can make some recommendations.

Adwords - I came across SpeedPPC recently - it looks fantastic, and has a lot of features that were originally planned for Market Samurai's Adwords module (plus more). It's currently $497 once-off - and something I wish I found earlier before I went to the time, effort and expense of building the $%&#ing tools myself

I also use Google's own Adwords Editor software, which is brilliant and free.

So all up, that's $913+ worth of software (in the 1st year) for 3 of Market Samurai's 8 modules - Adwords, SEO Competition and Keyword Research.

So you can see why it would be crazy if we sold Market Samurai for $149 forever

Well, I hope this answers some questions. If there are any I've missed, let me know.

And thanks again to Derekis, tommyfocus, Davmac40, reapr, Jenn Dize, SMazinTX, Fender85, StevenR, RonRea, netpro7, carik42, James Schramko, Rich Muir, nine-yards, capriliz, Urbanfox, naonline, Devan Koshal, and SimonHarrison and everyone else who left feedback or helped to answer peoples questions for me.

I know what you mean - you stumble across some great keywords, and somehow an hour later you own 20 new domains!

Haha.. Brian.. I could not get the screenshot.. care to explain?

Market Samurai's amazing, although I'm sure most of the 30day challengers here would have gotten it at a deal of $69. But still $149 is a good deal with unlimited installations. The great thing about Market Samurai is that it saves me a lot of time and I not need to know much about keyword research before using Market Samurai.

It does all the work for you and tracks your "competitor's" links so you know what websites have higher priority for you to get your backlinks to. Worth all the money, and all the comments I've heard about it have all been great. =D

The ability to add in limits on no. of searches, click thru rates, & competition really help me to save a lot of time. Another thing i like about this software is the update is done automatically. Other than that, i didn't really use other functions. But i think the keyword selection tools already worth the price given.

It's more than keyword research. It does a lot more than simply providing keywords.

I bought it when it was $69. It's now $149, but it's still very worth it.

The only "hang up" I've experienced is when I did tons of keyword research on a particular topic. Best to use with the methodology provided by Steve and Tim, the Commission Blueprint folks. 2 thumbs up!

It doesn't "create" them for you, but it does find them. You can have it search through blogs, forums and Web 2.0 sites, like Squidoo and Hubpages. It also tells you whether the site is do follow or no follow, the page rank, how many back links the site has, and if it supports pingbacks or not. Just use the "Promotion" tab.

        I hope that helps!

Don't bother waiting til August for the 30 Day Challenge. You can join anytime.

Also, the 30 Day Challenge doesn't give you an additional discount. I asked in the forum and researched it after I joined the challenge. It just gives you a slightly longer trial period.

I'm not arguing with cypherslock, who says he got it for $87, but I was unable to get that price, even as a 30 Day Challenge member. And the $67 price is, unfortunately, long gone.

And even if you can get it for $87, that's only a $10 savings, because as soon as you sign up for the free trial, you'll get an email telling you you can purchase for $97 if you buy within 7 or 10 days (I forget exactly how long they give you).

I have this program too, and at the time I felt it was a great purchase, but have lost site of it at the moment because I'm not creating any new projects. I did think it was pretty comprehensive and covered a great deal of information as well as a really good resource. I'll certainly have to get back into it after I've completed my current project.

I just viewed a very useful video from Market Samurai entitled: Content Writing Made Easy.

As we know, coming up with and authoring good quality can be a royal pain.

I've been using MS for awhile now and feel kinda silly that I've not used this awesome feature more. That will change now

I did a quick article post on it and embedded the video HERE

I was fortunate to get Market Samurai for the $69 offer last September during the 30DC. LOVE IT! It's an amazing tool and some of the recent updates make it so much better - ability to select your phrase length on KW searches, allowing for long-tail!; the permutations (related phrases) filter is awesome;the ability to sort by phrase/broad/exact is also very helpful. So much packed into this program. Honestly, I highly recommend it.

Also, the 'hanging up' issues that seemed to plague earlier versions, is all but gone now. I haven't had any in probably 2+ months. There have been many updates since last September. Well worth the small investment to get this tool.

One warning: I know it's supposed to be a time saver, but I find myself following rabbit trails hunting down long-tails in MS, and well.... time flies when you're having fun.

As for someone who used the 40-day trial, and doens't have a lot of experience using a lot of IM related software, I can say that the interface is extremely easy to use, as are all the other modules that were open during the trial period. However, once the trial period was over, I wasn't in a financial position to purchase the full version. I'm hoping that changes shortly and that the folks behind MS haven't upgraded to a monthly subscription fee by then... .:-)

          LMAO. That was great.

I got Market Smaurai not too long after 30DC, and it seemed to crash a lot. I think Google was very sensitive to it as well. I could keyword stats for a certain amount of time, and then all of sudden all the stats would return 0's.

You pretty much can only do but a few keywords at a time, otherwise the program will crash or it will get your ip blacklisted from Google. That was my only annoyance with it. But overall I think it is a really good tool to have.

After reading several recommendations of this software and people raving how they couldn't get by without it, I decided to download the trial and spend some time on it. I have read the 80+ page report that goes with it, and watched all the tutorials (some of them twice).

I must be pretty thick headed because I "don't get" much of it. Sure being able to analyze a competitors backlinks and checking the PR of the BL's is cool. The SEO Competition function overall is pretty cool I guess.

But my lack of understanding comes when they start assigning values to the the keywords researched.

    For example:

Under the organic function they are giving you total search volume and then SEO traffic and the SEO traffic is almost always around 43% of the total search traffic. What in the world is that, and what should that tell me? What is the significance of the 43%?

Secondly they are then taking an Adwords click thru rate (I have no idea where the CTR estimate comes from), multiplying that CTR rate by the total search traffic and they are arriving at an estimate for Adwords traffic for the keyword. Okay whatever... Google can tell me that easily enough. They are never correct, so why would I expect these guys to be?

Then they give me this "Adword Value" which is derived by taking the CPC that the top ad position is paying for the click thru on the subject keyword, and multiplying this by the Adwords traffic that the keyword receives and this gives me an "Adwords Value". What the hell is that? What do I do with that?

If this Adwords Value really has any significance for evaluating a market, shouldn't the figure also include all the CPC's that all the advertisers in the lower positions are paying also? Just because one advertiser is willing to spend $2 a click for 200 clicks gives the keyword an Adwords Value of $400? What?

I could go on, but my head hurts just bringing this post to this point. I don't see any logic in some of the information the software is providing. Seems like some of it is smoke and mirrors to me.

But then again... maybe I am just thick headed.

    Hi,

The Market Samurai absolutely delivers what the makers promise: it's a great tool to single out profitable keywords, because it gives lots of info that's useful for the monitization. Apart from that it provides a score of blogs and articles on the subjects you're researching, just with the push of a button. I've been using the Micro Niche Finder for some time now, but this tool is far more distinguished. It can safe you a lot of time in your research and provides you with a treasure of information. Very professional.

It was a special discount that we offered to customers in our first 30 days - to thank them for everything (their feedback, their support, putting up with the occasional bugs while we released new beta features, and making Market Samurai go viral(!!!) )

Originally Posted by 123andyt View Post

There used to be problems around speed (analysis used to take several minutes in some cases) - but now most data comes back in just a few seconds.

Is it because of low levels of RAM or a slow internet connection? These are the most significant reasons Market Samurai will run slow (because of the nature of the software, it needs to collect and process a lot of data from online sources).

If you're still having trouble though, get in touch with support (I can't link yet, but you know where to find it )

Ignoring the initial R&D, each module takes several thousand hours of programming time to create.

I'm expecting the next module is imminent... After that, the 3 remaining modules will be released one-by-one over the next few months.

We recently hired some new staff (including one ex-Google engineer) and this has sped up the creation of some of our bigger new features.

Originally Posted by jjcali View Post

Jay Stockwell has some great stuff inside Speed PPC.

I haven't had a chance to use it myself - but I spent a few minutes looking at his stuff, and he's certainly got some smarts in his systems.

I won't lie to you - Market Samurai isn't trying to *be* Speed PPC. Jay has some really unique stuff there - but it's not "us", and we're not going to duplicate it.

We've got our own killer PPC features to create - features that people can't get anywhere else - so they're our main priority.

There will be a bit of cross-over - the stuff that Speed PPC and Market Samurai both believes are "Must-Have" features - but there are also a lot of unique things too.

      So there's room for both.

Originally Posted by rayt View Post

We're looking at another keyword source right now.

The key isn't just the number of keywords - it's the relevance of keywords too.

Market Samurai was never designed to create long lists of keywords for scatter-gun, spray-and-pray style SEO - instead, it was designed to take a list of highly relevant keywords, filter out the worthless low-traffic low value keywords, filter out the keywords with high traffic and work with the keywords that have a MASSIVE chance of successfully ranking well in Google - and giving you traffic and customers.

Every page you put up, every keyword you optimize for, takes time and often money... So focussing on the handful of "winners" makes dollars and sense.

Relevance is also key - because Market Samurai was also designed to build sites with LSI-style silo structures. (So the keywords Market Samurai finds are from the most relevant source available)

But the limit of 200 keywords is a limitation...

Previously we were plugged into SEO Digger (which generated a great list of relevant, long-tail keywords). But this is closing down.

We're experimenting with a replacement solution right now... I don't have anything to report yet.

I hope this answers some questions

I've been following this thread, as well as the threads about Micro Niche Finder, with interest.

I'm looking at both Market Samurai and Micro Niche Finder and would value some input. Both seem to have a lot of features, probably more features than I would use or am looking for just now and I don't want to get bogged down.

For those of you who have used both products, which would you recommend to find good micro niches to build tangible product websites, i.e. to locate good highly-searched, low-competition keywords on which to build sites promoting tangible affiliate products?

I'm also looking for something that offers a brainstorm function, where I don't even have to enter a seed keyword, but it gives me ideas that I may never have thought of. I also do primarily organic search, so PPC data isn't so important, other than it does offer ideas on what people are willing to spend money on for ads.

        Thanks!

I "discovered" Market Samurai through Niche Blueprint, and it felt like coming home after having been away for a long time!

I had always struggled with keyword research, never knowing if I was on the right track, or digging deep enough, or had enough long tails or any tails at all!

MS pulled me back from the brink of giving up on building web sites.

I just love it to bits!

    Personally, I LOVE Market Samurai.
Like all tools, you have to take what is says with a pinch of salt.
However, the ability to find keywords, and check SEO and PPC competition gives a very easy and quick snapshot into a PPC market.
Used in conjunction with GCD 2 and/or Keyword Spy it's very effective indeed.

MNF is easier to follow in terms of explanation on screen but if you use the Glossary for MS while you are analyzing, then it makes it a lot easier to understand.

The only thing I see posted at 30DC is a 40-day trial. No discount promo code.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[736353].message }}
    • Profile picture of the author jjpmarketing
That is the initial version they give you. While you are going through the 30 Day Challenge you will get a discount offer sent via the auto-responder series... but that is assuming they are still offering that. I never really used the 30 Day Challenge material... don't even know why I signed up... but they were in the process of launching Market Samurai and I was able to get a huge discount since I was on the list.

Here is what I suggest you do. Sign up and get the trial version... test it out and see if you like it. You may find that you don't even like the program... but then again you might. Use the trial to make some money with a niche campaign and take that money and pay for the software. Even at $150 or whatever they are currently charging for it, it is worth it. Similar programs that have less features will charge a monthly fee for access. There is no monthly fee for Market Samurai.

Even at $150 and only using it for one year that is only $12.50 per month for a very robust keyword and niche research tool. Once you are using the software make certain you watch all of the training videos, as that is the key to getting the most out of the software.

    I like this product.

In fact, it has really helped me to identify the keywords that I can and should focus on and within a period of 1 month, though I did not manage to get on Google, I managed to list on 1st page of Yahoo for a competitive keyword like "how to slim down".

Definitely would recommend this product for people doing keyword research.

If your looking for a seo software that will save you a great deal of time and get you the results you need to know then Market Samurai is definitely the solution for you, I've been using since it first came out (in the 2008 30 day challenge) and I use it almost everyday. I definitely consider this the best investment I ever made for a piece of software.

The latest updates they have made in the speed and performance allows you to get a great deal of information in just few minutes.

If you are looking to get a copy it's probably a good idea to get it now since the price may go up once all the modules are available. Currently only 4 out of 7 modules are available, but in my opinion just the Keyword Research module is worth the price of the entire software.

The guys at Noble Samurai will keep you up to date on any new changes and have a bunch of video tutorials that will help you learn how to use Market Samurai.

This is by far my favorite program,
    Mike

    Hi Everyone,

I have bought Market Samurai last month. There is only word to describe the software and support: "Excellent" Why I say that is because the software literally gives the data I want to dominate my Niche market by spotting the best buyers keywords.

I have no comments about other keyword research software. Normally I do not use a keyword research software to do my keyword research before purchasing the software. But after downloading the trial version and using it for a day, I am convinced of the speed of gathering data. It is just in mere mins and secs. I am shock and amazed by this software.

The support they provide:Superb. When I have problems in using the software, they solve the problems straight away.

It's a great piece of software. I was lucky enough to buy it towards the end of last year for $67. The recent updates has really speeded up matters. The versatility increases monthly. This is something that trips up a lot of users.

There are a lot of things that can affect this (including having different language or region settings inside Market Samurai vs Google, or just [surprising] changes in Google's index from one week to the next)

But often it's because people think Google is just one search engine...

      ...Actually, it's thousands.

(It's only now that Market Samurai has made the data easily accessible that people have begun noticing this though)

Here's a blog post explaining how Google works:

The Beast With 1,000 Heads | Noble Samurai

Tip: If you click on the arrow beside the result, you'll almost always get an identical result visiting Google that way (because it will make sure you're using all of the right search parameters and settings).

Originally Posted by Crows View Post

No - but let me explain why we chose daily, and not monthly...

When we were developing Market Samurai (years ago - for our own personal use) - some of the data sources that we used had daily keyword data.

Should we multiply the data by 30.42 (the average length of a month?) Or, keep the data as accurate as possible by using the raw daily figures?

We decided to stick with daily.

When Google released their monthly keyword traffic data (for the first time ever) we were the first tool to use this data - anywhere.

But now we had a problem - one piece of data was daily, another monthly - which measure should we use?

We decided to stick with daily traffic figures for everything.

There were some advantages to this (consistency in 28/29/30/31 day months, better accuracy on market value estimates as CPC figures can fluctuate a lot in a month, and also a faster moving benchmark that you can use to compare your site's traffic to - i.e. instead of waiting a month to see if your site is underperforming / overperforming, you get the data in a day)

So we stuck with daily traffic estimates because they were cooler

      I hope this helps.

      Brent

I have both and I like both.

MNF is good for finding those small niches, then I like to really drill down using MS to find long tail keywords and to check out the competition, if the competition is too hard then I will give it a miss.

If I had to pick one, probably MS as I can target keywords better and filter out stuff to really get down to those easy money making niches.

RichGal, did you get your installation sorted?

You can use Market Samurai on 2 computers at any one time: you need to open it up on whichever computer you are able to use it, then click on File in the top left corner. A pull-down menu will appear, and you want to click on Settings in that menu. You then click on General (which is probably where you'll land anyway) and click "Deactivate".

Now you'll be able to install it on your new PC.

If you still have installation problems, or if this didn't work, put in a support ticket about it, to Noble Samurai - Powered By Kayako SupportSuite

Okay I am just starting the 30dc, great software, I agree. Everyone says so. But...
has anyone that has used it for a time had any results?
Is anyone making any money with what they have accomplished
    with MS?

    Thanks

Hi guys, there is currently a 42% discount for Market Samurai. It ends at tomorrow thursday(10th of Sept) at 11.59pm sharp.

    The discount code is: THANKYOU30DC

Or you can use the link below:

    Noble Samurai

Make sure the code THANKYOU30DC is entered into the promo code box.

For those who are still sitting on the fence with Market Samurai, my advice is just go out there and buy it. In my opinion, it is way much better than Keyword Elite 2 and the best thing is that their customer service is top notch, this is what it all matters in the end. When the adwords module is out, they are going to officially increase the price higher than the current $149 price tag. So grab the discount while you can, left 2 more days only.

Just to share this just in case someone is looking for a discount code.

    All the best.

        Hi Chris,

No, you do not have to be on the thirty days challenge. Just use the link with the discount code and you will get the special offer.

I got my email link within minutes of me paying through Paypal. The email contains your Market Samurai unique ID code and a download link. I suggest you send a support ticket and wait for them to reply. They have very good customer support i can assure you.

    Cha Ching.

My trial ends in like 3 days and even though I like using it (LOL, just using 1 module and love it), I'm too lazy to drop $150.

At $97, it's too tough to pass. Being a Mac user, I love that it runs on Adobe Air.

I definitely think that as far as keywords tools come this one is top notch. The free version is a great inside look at the tool but the paid version is awesome. I like using the seoc, seot and the seov a lot. I look at the in any niche I go into. Definitely worth looking at.

One of the major guys I've been tracking for 6+ months, who somehow seems to land the 1st interview with IM rock stars when they launch their new stuff swears by Samurai and since James swears by it and uses it to get his pages on page 1, then it only makes sense that us "up and comers" would be wise to follow his lead. But the important thing is, the 40% discount expires at midnight tonight, so Y not sub up to the 30dc and save yourself a bunch of greenbacks at the same time. besides, the 30dc 2009 version is red hot.

More praise for MS may seem pointless at this point in the thread but what the heck, I'll chime in too. I've used keyword elite for several years and eventually moved away from it as the many free tools and methods available simply gave me better results. That said, I came across Market Samurai discussions here and took a look. Simply put, it is awesome. It gives me data I never even considered using but don't know how I lived without. Well worth the one time cost (another bonus!!).

      I'd recommending starting here:

      Thirty Day Challenge 2009 - Day 01

It's the 30 Day Challenge stuff. Or you can just go right to YouTube and search for 30dc, but that's more work actually. The MS guys talk about using the software. You see a nice handful of starter videos.

BTW, in that link, just change it to day2.php, day3.php etc.

I was very happy to score this at $87.

Whoa thats not fair you guys got it for $87. I had to pay a whole $10 more as I purchased it on day 1 of my 14 day trial.

This is by far the best piece of software I have ever purchased. Does a whole lot more than Keyword research. Was able to setup a great looking pre sales page for a product I am promoting using this. Also managed to knock out a few articles with its help.

This is easily worth 10 times the $97 I paid. I managed to get about 4 hours work on this project done in just over an hour.

    Folks,

Over 15,000 posts on this one thread alone!!!

    This must say something.

Give it a try. It makes it easy to become something online, or,

to build something quick as a pro.

To me interface is god - and it's smooth & solid. Easy to learn.

Working on the mastery over time just got it yesterday at an $87 steel : )

KWE2 may compliment if doing more CPA / PPC stuff.

However, Adwords module in MS to be released soon. Very soon from the rumors.

Is anyone having issues with Google blocking your IP, even when not doing crazy amounts of keyword research?

Lately I have noticed that after doing some research on a few niches, Google will block my IP and thus render MS research inactive. It seems I remember doing a LOT more keyword research when I first bought it and didn't experience any IP blocking issues. I know MS is supposed to use built-in proxy servers,

I am just curious if this is something on my end or not?

    Regardless, this software ROCKS!

I do advanced SEO work for clients and Market Samurai is the weapon I now use. I love the rank tracker feature that allows me to see and track the results - then being able to show a client how we have progressed with all the stats is great.

I track every page and combination. My last project it took over 20 mins for the stats to come in - MS is a beautiful piece of software.

$10? DAMN!!! But you are right, it's a bargain at $97 $147 & even $197, for all the slackers who sit on it & wait. The time you save & the convenience of this program make this program worth 10x whatever you pay for it.

I've only had it a week & i've already found some money keywords that would have taken me days to find, if I was lucky!

I'm not worried about the aff program. I'd rather see them do what they are doing now and that is making it the best it can be. They haven't released the last module or gotten up to v 1.0 yet so the resources they have are being allocated correctly: to developing the program. Besides, I'd be happy if there was no affiliate program. That way it can remain our "little" (ha!) secret.

MS is quite simply the best internet marketing tool I ever bought. I have no affiliation with them, wont get any referrals by telling you this - its just the plain truth. MS answers so many question I need to know about possible niche markets. It finds me great links. It even helps design affiliate ads on my blog. The list goes on, but most of all, it is the definitive tool for finding profitable niche keywords. I bought it when it first came out. I've used it at least once a week ever since then and the info it has given me is invaluable. That's my opinion of MS. Wouldn't want to live without it!

    Hello,

where can I find better Market Samurai tutorials than the official tutorials?
They explain all the features, but I would like to see a sample project, a case study where someone use Market Samurai to discover a whole niche, and cover not just one keyword.

I am currently watching the 30DC videos, where they cover MS. So are there similar videos out there?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[1203107].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author JMartin
If you watch all the 30DC videos about MS, you'll see MS used to find a niche (drilling down to a mico niche).

EDIT: Here's a quick link to YouTube for the MS video showing how to find a theme niche

BTW, no software will say "hey, here's a great niche to do." You need to know what you're looking for in a niche first (low competition or more money potential or whatever).

For instance, one of my niches is in the financial market. I can use MS to scope out KWPs within my field (let's say Stock Market) for profitable KWPs and visitors.

Thanks, I think the 30DC videos about MS are the only MS tutorials we need. I would say that the official MS help videos are useless.

One tip for Ubuntu Linux users: on big screen resolution the font size is very tiny in Market Samurai. But if you install Compiz, and you are scrolling with your mouse scroll and pressing down the super key (the Windows key) at the same time, then you can zoom to any segment of your screen.

    Sharon,

Sorry I don't have any info on current discounts.

I'm another happy MS user, had it since last year. They've added several new modules/features the last 6 months, plus smaller fixes.

One of my favorite newer modules is the SEO Competition. After running the basic Keyword Research and applying filters, the SEO Comp module gives me a quick SEO overview of top 10 sites for the selected keyword. I can even dig into their backlinks and anchor text.

I would sure hope that support tickets to the company rated as CRITICAL would get someone's attention. I'll report back when thy get their program going again.

I'm using Windows XP and have had no problems with the program until yesterday. Sounds like they didn't do enough testing.

I research a possible niche keyword on MS and got a decent amount of SEOT (over 80) as suggested in the 30DC, but when i ran back the same keywords in Wordtracker keyword suggestion tool...the results were vastly lower for daily searches(like under 5 searches).

So now i'm wondering which tool is giving me a more correct interpretation of the keyword daily search term? because from the looks of it MS tells me i have a decent enough keyword to attempt the 30DC with, but Wordtracker keyword tools shows me the keyword is not really being searched. So i'm not sure if i should continue with my niche keyword.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx

      Hi ya guys,

I joined this forum to follow along with john/xfactors amazing adsense ebook.

After a bit of research i've hit a wall on whether to buy Market Samurai or micro niche finder (as mentioned in johns ebook)

The results produced by Market Samurai look a lot like a free online tool i used to use - i really like it. That sites gone now

But I also like the SOC in micro niche finder - the simple red/yellow/green dots to say if you should go with a keyword.

      So anyway, two questions...

      1. What is the simplest way to "recreate" the SOC score in MS -- before clicking the on the "seo competition" tab. Like a simple way to see if its worth looking into more detail.

      2. Say i search for "Toothpaste" in MS -- and i see "Whitening Toothpaste" - i click the key next to it, to find more keywords, but instead of drilling down, and only finding words about "whitening toothpaste", the new tab results are almost exactly the same as the first. Am i doing somthing wrong?

Thanks so much to anyone who can answer these

    Hey guest,

I think that you can use MS SEOTCR score to compare it to MNF's SOC. The lower the SEOTCR the better. I usually go for a score lower than 10%...

      Thanks Zeb.

      Wow, 10% is LOW.

I cannot find any keywords with a score as low as 10% -- or any with less then 10% are getting only 20 or 30 searches.

I wish micro niche finder had a trial.

Just to compare the SOC and the MS SEOTCR

The only way that I know how to get a promo price is through the thirty day challenge site. Here is the site: Dashboard Thirty Day Challenge (you may need to opt in first)

You can get a 40 day trial version of Market Samurai through 30 dc. While on the trial, watch for an email giving you a shot at getting Market Samurai for about $80 or $90 bucks. (as oppose to full price: $149)

I have both MS and MNF and both are great. MS is much more robust in what it can do in terms of analyzing competition and the other modules it has. Some people say it is too much info (I don't agree).

The interface for MS is a little funky in terms of setting up projects etc.

The video tutorials for MS are great.

Hey guys, how much harder is it to use MS vs MNF? How much longer does it take to get the same end-results?

I've heard that MS is much more "involved" than MNF, but I'm not sure what that equates to in typical day-to-day ease of use.

    Thanks...

Not sure what "involved" means. I find it (MS) is a very simple to use, intuitive, piece of software. What it does is provide great information.

    Hey Walt -
You can use Market Samurai to research profitable niches. There are tons of videos that show you what to do. I recommend you check out the videos at Market Samurai and the 30 Day Challenge for details, but this is a very basic overview:

Choose a keyword to research : clown suits (example)
With Market Samurai, you can generate a list of related keywords, determine the SEO traffic and competition of those keywords, and hopefully choose a long tail keyword phrase to buy a domain name for your "clown suit" website. You can also check on the other websites that are currently ranking in the top 10 in Google and see how well they are optimized for those keywords.
If you can find a keyword phrase that has HIGH SEO value, LOW competition, and other competing sites that are not optimized for your keyword, then chances are you have discovered a good niche market.
In addition to that, you can also track your site in the rankings over time with their Rank Tracker module.

I love Market Samurai and have saved SO much time and effort using this tool. I am recommending it to all new internet marketers now. It's well worth the $149 price tag, in my opinion.

never be afraid to spend money on your business, especially when it comes to software like Market Samurai. That being said, if you don't want all the module that they offer, the Keyword Research module (in the trial download) is and always will be free. So there you go. Another option is Traffic Travis by Mark Ling and Affiliorama: Free SEO Software | Traffic Travis.

I would download both tools and use both to see which one you like best. Remember that the keyword tool in Market Samurai is always free as well.

way way more information at your disposal in market samurai. thats what it does. The keyword portion of Senuke is just one thing it does, it is very basic and I believe just give you a 3 tiered rating based on traffic and number of competing pages. MS is a one time fee and worth every penny.

if you're asking if you have a page on a high PR domain, does it carry the same PR as the domain then the answer is no.

if you have a squidoo lense your link is weighted based on the PR of your squidoo lense itself. the overall PR of squidoo has no bearing on the PR of your Lense.

    Andy,

I use MS on a daily basis. I have used word tracker before until MS.

MS is beyond just keyword research.... it includes link building, publishing to blogs,
long tail keyword research... much more.

I am an internet marketer and I personally would have paid 10x for it, if it had the same functionalities and I used on a daily basis.

After buying MS, I found many software that I owned already, obsolete because, MS has updates almost every week.

It is hard to imagine why they are giving away so much value?

You must at least get it and try it for 40 days.... without paying a dime.
what do you got to lose?

    Sean

Ps. I have never used keyword elite. Is that a monthly service? Anyway, after MS I dont pay for any service on a monthly basis.

Market Samurai has vastly improved their core product since your initial post. In particular, the way they enable you to find quality Backlinks with a high pagerank (and) the associated anchor text links has proven to be far and away the best tool and methodology I've used to date.

Their new video series shows how to find quality backlinks in just a few minutes and drill down to each of these P5, P6 and P7 links and like I said, they show you that actual anchor text used and on what page, so in effect, you can pretty much steal the traffic if you follow their yellow brick road.

As much as I like and us Samurai, I still run a session with James Jones' Micro Niche Finder and compare the longtail keywords, SEOT and a few other metrics that you gotta consider before moving forward in nay niche.

I think Market Samurai is fantastic. Once my trial was over, I used only the keyword research tool and created excel spreadsheets to do extra analyzing until I had the money to purchase the full version...

To be fair, I still use the excel functions that I created because they zero in my keyword research even more.

The best compliment I can give market samurai is that it found my very first, truly profitable keyword and it has continued to be a staple of my arsenal ever since.

Market Samurai is much more than simple keyword research or even competition analysis. If the price is too high now, just wait till the 30 Day Challenge starts up in August and sign up. Big discount and that is how I bought it. Remember you will have to invest in some tools for your business. And for me, Market Samurai is a "can't do without" tool.

To try it out, you don't need to wait until August -- you can start the challenge and get a 40-day free trial any time.

Personally, I find MS very useful, but horribly written and slow. I don't know why they decided to do it on Adobe Air, but the interface just sucks. Honestly, a few times I was so disgusted with it, I closed it and went a did what I needed to do manually.

I'm not 100% sure, but someone had mentioned that the 30 day challenge price was $87. For $10 it's not worth waiting for that.

Slow? How so? I've had no problems with it since I bought it for Windows. And I don't have a top of the line computer or laptop. Do you mean slow to get results? That generally is your internet connection. Or slow to run? The only time I had some issues with it was when I was on Ubuntu linux, but then they did say they don't "officially" support that OS. I'm just glad Market Samurai exists!

Actually it wasn't a $10 dollar savings. The regular price is $149. I got it in the challenge for $87. Quite a bit of a difference. That being said, if I had missed the cut off I would have purchased at full price anyway.

EDIT: in fact I know of one promo they ran at the very beginning of the challenge in which you could get it for $67.

Just to clarify for everyone, the $10 difference mentioned is between the $87 30-day challenge price and the standard $97 trial period discount price.
That's why there's no point waiting until August just for $10.

I agree that sometimes the wait can be long for certain functions.
Overall though, it's a fantastic tool IMO.

Market Samurai is an awesome research tool but I'm afraid that it could become bloatware if they continue to focus on "improving" it with feature-creep. One caveat: Although it may feel obvious how to use it 'out-of-the-box', there are many subtle settings you'll need to understand to use if effectively. I recommend that if you buy it, you spend time with the training videos to learn the ins and outs.

Yeah really! For those that don't want to buy it because of the cost, you might want to try the 30 Day Challenge when it starts up this summer. I bought MS for last years 30 Day Challenge (unfortunately, I then got so busy I never got past the first week of the challenge material! lol).

Anyways, Here is a copy/paste of an email I got from Ed Dale during the 30DC:

"As a 30 day challenger, you can now get Market Samurai for $87 instead of the regular price of $149. That's a discount of 42%.

I can't believe the Noble Samurai boys are offering Market Samurai at this
price but there it is...what can I do.

      But only for 3 days.

The special price for 30DC'ers ends at midnight this Thursday 10th September
      PST (Pacific Standard Time)

By the way, that's the LOWEST price you'll find anywhere for Market Samurai.

WHY? Because it's been just over a year since Market Samurai was launched
to the world through last year's Thirty Day Challenge...

...So it's the team at Noble Samurai's way of saying "Thank You" to all the
Thirty Day Challengers who made this possible!"

As you can see, they do usually give you a 30DC discount, so if you can't afford MS right now, make sure you pay attention to the next 30DC, who knows, they MIGHT offer a great discount again.

I usually use this tool as my primary research for keywords. It gives everything you need including how much the #1 in Google site could make a month and the backlinks of your competitors.

I have also used it to analyze the competition and see where I can get ahead.

Plus you can add items to sell from Amazon, Click bank, and a few others. It also comes preloaded with buttons for people to click on to go to the page with your affiliate ID. It really is a useful tool. I don't know half of the things it can do though.

Oh it can also find articles for you based on keywords too. The thing is about articles is that it is best to write your own and pass it thru copyscape to make sure they are geniuine. Just keep that in mind when SEO-ing your site.

Anyway, it can really do a lot. Keyword research is the main thing I use it for and do the other stuff myself. Hope that helps.

Market Samurai and SENUKE are totally different tools. One allows you to quickly scope out keywords, competition, place amazon/clickbank/ebay/adsense ads, find affiliate products through the above plus paydotcom and find high quality backlinks as well as content. The other is more for traffic generation and to truly get use out of it is quite expensive at around 97$/month. Market Samurai is just a one off payment of $149 (less if you do the trial and order during it). It depends. Personally, I'd just stick with Market Samurai. But it is up to you and the goals you have set.

      Grut,

Sounds like you've done a fair amount of home work on this. I got KW Elite for free as a bonus for buying a pretty expensive PPC program launch. To me, it wasn't nearly as intuitive or powerful as Samurai. I wouldn't sell my copy of Market Samurai for twice the price. Still, you might want to do a little recon on Micro Niche Finder before you pull the trigger. James Jones is the creator and the product is on version 4.+ James is a successful IM guy and stand behind his product.

Like others have pointed out, MNF does a lot of what MS does but its "specialty" is finding longtail keywords better than any other tool I've tried and it's a one-time purchase ($97) and all upgrades come at no cost.

As with any credible product, it has an 8 week money back guarantee, which should give you ample time to use it and see if its a good fit.

I agree with JNFerree. Micro Niche Finder is a nifty little tool to quickly figure out if a niche is worth pursuing. James is a nice guy as well.

Market Samurai is also a very nice tool. Takes a bit of use to get the hang of it but once you do it is very powerful as well. These are definitely my top two keyword research tools.

My advice Grut is to try both. The keyword research tool of Market Samurai will always be free, even after the trial. I used both and found the interface and speed of MS to be far superior and the price is a one time fee. If you buy during your trial you can get a decent discount ($97 as opposed to $149) as well. All future updates are free of charge. And the support is stellar. They will even chat with you.

Yes I agree, it is my third keyword tool and it is pretty good. The one feature I like is it assesses the profitability of the keywords and it also tells you the chances of Google muddling up the order of the words in the keyword phrase you are researching.

As I read in another post you can watch videos on how it works and the features it provides before you make a decision to buy it.

MS is one of the best tools that i have ever bought, it cuts your market research time down, you can post to multiple blogs, create content, find content form multiple sources, and this is a big one for me, it actually takes you to the clickbank sales page so that you can build you own article for it and post it to your site. Alot of programs are hyped up and don't deliver, but this delivers what it says it will and alot more. I'd try the free 14 day period to check out the keyword tool as alot of the other features don't work with the free package, but if all you wanted was a good keyword tool you could stick to traffic travis as that is free. If you want lot more, I would go for market samurai. I love it.

Rakeshbarla, consider that it uses your internet connection. Consider too that you need a decent computer to run it on. Perhaps it is not the software but your set up. I've run MS on a 5 year old Linux box, on Mac and on windows. And it IS slower on my father's internet connection and faster on mine. But mine is a higher plan. Odds are it isn't the software. But hey, that's cool dawg, less competition for me and the rest of us that love the software.

I've been using Market Samurai since it began and was one of the first to buy it as soon as it became available.

I think I have purchased most internet marketing softwares (keyword elite, micro niche finder, seo elite, etc etc..) But I find that Market Samurai to be the one I use the most..especially all the grunt work it does to drill down a niche to find me some absolute crackers, which I think is one of the better options over all of the other keyword research softwares..

The other ones seem to get your banned temporarily because of all the data it gathers, where as Market Samurai cut through the competition (like true samurai style).

Then, when they release the other modules I chuckled like a kid..as I knew the power of it especially the Seo Competition module, monetization and find content..they are the ones I use the most in the software.

They've certainly done their homework on this one!! 3 thumbs up from me.

Anybody else wish MS supported multiple rank checkers within a project.

So you create a project called.

    Fat Loss.

Within that project you have 5 tabs of different keywords and URL's

You want to click on a tab with a set of keywords and URL's on it
then click rank tracker and have rank tracker show only the results from that tab.

Not one huge rank checker that takes forever to update because
you've had to cram a bazillion keywords and URL's into it.

I don't want to have dozens of projects to get a rank checker for each.

Anybody else miss that as a feature?

If you download the trial version, do be mindful of the timeframes in regards to the special pricing for the full version... once it expires, it expires... but after just one day alone of using the program should sell you on it.

Let me join the chorus of folks who'll tell you that if there was an Academy Award for software, Market Samurai would win.

Yes, it was bit slow and annoying when it first came out, but they constantly tweak it and it is one fine piece of software that absolutely performs as advertised.

It has been called the Swiss Army Knife of Internet marketing, and it definitely lives up to it.

Regardless of whether you buy it or not, the Keyword Research module is free, and that beats the pants off the Google Webmaster tools.

yes I've found it's acting very strange. Yesterday I did some research on my page ranking and the results were VERY VERY VERY strange. Did some alternative research with an Firefox SEO tool to get the right answer.:confused::confused::confused:

We ALL know that MS now has an affiliate scheme. Please don't insult our intelligences by trying to sneak an affiliate link in here. Threads will be closed, users will be banned, Australians will be laughed at etc.

    Thanks,

Essential. Use it every single day. The only real gap in it's armory is the lack of a PC tool which has shown a "Coming soon" logo for what seems like forever.
My only real gripe (which is also one of MS's strengths) is the almost daily updates. It's great that it's maintained and improved so well but the update process is slow and annoying.
That said - it's absolutely invaluable and a better tool than any other I've used.
(and no - no affiliate link, hidden or otherwise).

I've been a Net marketer since 1998 and this is the best keyword tool I've ever found. The last one I used cost $129/month, so the MS cost is nothing. It can be a bit slow, but it's worth it because of all the research it does. Someone else on this thread mentioned that you can do the same thing with several different tools - EXACTLY! I don't want to use multiple tools when I can do all the research in one control panel. Do you?

I believe I know the other tool you are talking about. So how does MS compare to the $129 a month one? I was actually considering the $129 due to the great reports I have heard about it.

Is MS a one time cost?

Compared to the other major keyword/SEO research tools, I believe MS offers the best value and best/most sought-after features overall. The team that backs it has been on the IM scene for several years as well.

MS is absolutely fantastic. I downloaded the trial after reading a previous post which went something along the lines of 'don't trial it unless you can afford to buy it because once you've tried it, you will want it ..

    Guess what? I bought it!

Not only is it so powerful for keyword/niche research, whilst researching I've managed to find 6 solid PR5 sites in less than a week that competitors are using for backlinks, and now I'm using too along with my usual means. Yeah sure you can purchase this info elsewhere, but why do you need to when one tool shows you what niche to target, with what keyword and exactly how your competition are doing so, and all in 10 minutes?

Every time I crank it up I'm finding myself buying domains that I haven't got the time to monetise!

I just want to put my support behind Market Samurai. It's truly a product I would pay $97 per month for. If a "guru" had made it, it would have been a $997 launch in my opinion.

And there affiliate program is either open or extremely close so sales will be easy if you are in the IM niche. Just use the tool as you teach people all the steps of IM (keyword research, writing articles, looking at competition, finding affiliate offers, etc).

Truly, it's got everything and they keep adding more. Everytime I login there's new updates it seems.

I can honestly say it's the best product I've ever bought in the IM world as far as price vs value.

Have to admit, Market Samurai is a recent purchase for me... yesterday! And I am in love with it. I've tried other tools but nothing I've seen offers this range of tools all in one neat little package!

And yeah... since yesterday I've bought several new domains - just can't help myself!

Anyway, it's a great tool and I'd highly recommend it to beginners because it's not expensive and is a one time cost - also, the video series you get with it will really help you out!

I am trying to do keyword research and just downloaded Market Samurai. Once i started comparing search volume results i found a lot of discrepancies.

I was looking at computer jobs keyword and here is what i found

adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal not logged in 550,000 monthly for US and english
google.com/sktool not logged in 12,000 monthly
    google.com/sktool logged in 6,500 monthly
    tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/ 20,000 monthly
    Market Samurai 540,000 monthly

How do i know which one is correct????? I can understand 10-20% difference but not 25x.

I guess I do not have anything to compare it to, but the speed does not seem that bad for the type of data that is being crunched and spit out.

I really like the daily data that shows what a #1 SERP ranking will possibly give you. It keeps me encouraged.

Market Samurai rocks. I tried Elite 2.0 first... it hung up while looking up SEO results and I had to reboot just to get it to try again. MS was smooth every time and runs great. It's a little tricky when you want to restart and try different sets of keywords, but that maybe my inexperience. Highly recommend it. And that ROCKS that you will always get the keyword tool. IMO that's the most valuable tool to an upstart.

Well, I'd simply like to know what Market Samurai costs because it doesn't say on the pages I visited. Lots of stuff about you'll get all this free stuff and upgrades that are already covered in the videos but are yet to come out in the sales page ....

are there different prices for different folk .... ?????

If you're having trouble with MS being S L O W... try running it on some good, paid private proxies. I recently added my private proxies to MS and the difference is night and day. I think by default it uses a scraped list of free proxies.

Also, I love using MS to get the same .edu backlinks my competitors are using. Great tool.

I get that quite alot also but i beleive that is a Google Thing or search engine problem because you are asking for muti requests from the Big G and it limits the keywords it sends,Had it a few times when Google has got me with the "oops your computer is sending multiple requests form your computer" please check your computer with anti virus ect,After using ms

M.S. is the best. They seem to have gotten over the 'never finishing a search' problem. I love the fact that you can set the keyword search so that it searches for the phrase version only, a minimum daily search number (in my case 30), a maximum page competition level (in my case 30,000) a minimum number of words in the phrase (I have it at 2) and include negative words - all in one search!

    Wouldn't be without it.

I didn't read through all the replies but for me it is worth the price. I use other tools along with it to make my decisions but it does help me to find more keywords and narrow things down. I could live without it, but it speeds up the process for me at least and is worth the money for me. Anything that can save me time is worth it, especially if it is a one time fee.

My hang up with every keyword tool is that in the end, after they throw all the keyword data and stats. at you, you've then still got to decide which are really the best keywords to use in your niche.

I'm using Money Keyword Finder to give me exactly what keywords I should use to write my articles and content around and find affiliate product s related to my keywords.

For me it's a massive time-saver, and the learning curve is about 10 minutes.

MS even has an answer for that GlenH. It determines what they call the 'commerciality" of a keyword. You really should take a a trial run. You'll be doing yourself a big favor, believe me.

It is better to learn the process (it isn't hard) than to rely on a third party to decide what makes up a good keyword. Many tools that do this base their "Easy Keywords" off factors that are irrelevant to the true difficulty and competition of a keyword.

First off, quit shouting, it is rude. Second, the best way to figure the figures out for MS is to go to the Dojo section of the website and watch the videos as they show you in real time exactly what they mean and more importantly how to apply what you see. The best way to do this is to watch and decide is best for your business.

KE is great for finding KWs...it can dig very deep for you.

On the other hand, MS does KW analysis as well as SEO analysis. I have both and almost never use KE anymore...

MS has a trial version...but here's the best advice I can give. Watch the videos before using it. I know that goes against the grain because I always want to fire up software and check things out for myself...but their videos are stunningly good. One thing I would say about Market Samurai - and don't get me wrong, I love it dearly - it is still using numbers from the old Google keyword tool.

After the recent changes, the new tool (beta) is showing figures which are sometimes hugely different to what MS and MNF now report for monthly searches.

I'm still trying to decide what I think about that, but I've definitely found one niche where my fully researched domain purchase turned out to be a complete waste of money after looking at the new figures!

Tried three tools, the best software would be a combination. I like that a tool allows me to explore keywords like Keyword Blueprint, gives me deep analysis data that Keyword Elite has, displays the domain backlinks in the style competition of Market Samurai.

The best research tool is Keyword Elite 2.0

Research and evaluation for PPC, Keyword Blueprint

Looking for an all in one tool that includes content and product research, but is somewhat misled on the keyword research analysis front, Market Samurai is good software.

Market Samurai is a wonderful software. I especially like the modules: SEO competition, Rank tracker, Keyword research.
I like to check my rank everyday. I know most of time, the ranks don't change too much, but I can't help doing it.
Recently I find the rank tracker is not accurate for some of my keywords. Does any one have this experience?

      Hello MaxR,

I found this link which may be useful for you. Looks like Market Samurai
can read 41 languages. I would assume French would be one of them.

Noble Samurai Improved Regional Keyword Targeting

I also wanted to mention that if you do plan on buying it do a search on
Google for "Market Samurai Bonus" or "Market Samurai Discount" and look
to see who offers the biggest bonus or discount. Someone is going to
get a commission so it might as well be the one who offers you the
      most perks.

        Hi,

I have used MS during 2010 where I found it to be useful, then I went for full version but now I really have trouble. It still uses the same old way of its settings, I tried to write to the support area but I could not get the right response from them.

What version do you feel is better? I have 0.87.48, it keeps updating at regular intervals. But I really have trouble in getting data for some of the modules.

Any advice on how best it can be used would be appreciate.

I've had it too, and I wrote support about it. Apparently they're having "intermittent difficulties" and they sent out an email about some servers being down. If you try it at different times during the day it randomly works and doesn't work.

I've had MS for over a year, and I think it's the best software I've got. It's having troubles these last few days, but it's still so worthwhile, and the constant updates at least show you that they're really behind supporting this software.

Market Samurai has been getting very slow lately on my end. Switching from one keyword tab to another keyword tab takes about 15-20 seconds to load. Just imagine having to sift through hundreds of keywords and checking on their Strength of Competition is gonna take hours. It used to be my favourite keyword research tool(i open it every single day) but not anymore.

I got a trial version, and found that it was slow. I could see that the transition between keyword research and seo competition could be really useful, but I struggled to see what additionally it had over the Google keyword tool. I also found it unuseably slow - would leave it to do its thing, and it would crash and shut itself down.
I have also used Traffic Travis - I have the free version of that at this stage too, and that doesn't do a great deal in terms of keyword research, although its other features such as seo analysis seem pretty good.
I also used SEO Powersuite, that seemed probably the best of the bunch in the free version, and I suspect would be even better paid as you could save everything!

I'm going to have to watch more of the MS videos, as I seem to be missing the point, everyone seems to say that it's great, but I'm just not seeing what it is that actually makes it great?
