What was the upgrade(s) to Easy VSL?
If I buy the higher priced front end offer ($47 incl. developer's lic.), what more could be offered?
Other features? More templates? What?

All the while I was watching the promo video, I'm thinking, "Tell me again how this does more than (plain old) PPT?"

I bought it and was quite disappointed too. I am still getting emails from "experts" telling how easy and fast it is. It is quite apparent, they haven't tried to use it themselves.

That sort of thing is occurring quite often lately.

Particularly the ability to be able to publish WITHOUT audio.

That was crazy to make that a mandatory function.

Thanks for the update Ray.

How about that issue with the spacing between words /characters.

That was where when you viewed your slides, you found there was no spacing between words, and you edited the copy on all your slides to put spacings between words but when you saved and then reopened the project, it all revered back to the original.

How about having a magnifying glass button? Like other video editors have.

Yeah, right now that's the easiest workaround for achieving that. But this is on the list of things we're doing. We're trying to first make sure that all of the bigger features that are more impactful for the majority of users are added first. Then we'll crank out the other smaller ones real fast.

We just updated the version history page about 5 minutes before you checked the history page (the text). We're updating the software as we speak.

It should be ready once the file finishes uploading to the server. You'll be notified in the software when the update is ready.

After using VSL for several days, I'm inclined to request a refund. I'd like to give them time to fix everything, but ultimately I believe Explaindio will be the better value anyway.

-The only main advantage I see is that it makes it very easy to make simple text-only VSL. The feature I don't see anywhere else is the ability to quickly match slides to the audio. Maybe there's something out there that does this for you?

-My original idea was to do a mix of sketches/images/video and the text slides. Explaindio can do it all. EasyVSL may add a video import option later on. Again, the feature I'm not seeing is the ability to very easily mark slide 1 ends here, slide 2 ends here in sync with the audio when playing.

-I would keep the software just to do that, but I don't have confidence it will get to good enough to be worth my time, even if it was free of charge.

The above is my more logical thoughts. My emotional response/gripes are:

-I will probably never do business with mark or matt again. If I do, I will triple-vet them and read reviews such as the one from Brett Rutecky (google him, he's truly honest and a little brutal in a good way). Wish I would have found it before I bought. To release a product that doesn't do what it's supposed to is bad form. To show what it will do in a sales video, then have fine print later saying it's coming soon is bad form. Like many, I just assumed it would do what they said it would in the video.

-I used to work for a software company. I know there will be bugs. But to release something that doesn't allow you to do the basics of what it's advertised for is inconsiderate to the user. I've made several videos, and had the problems the other reviewers mentioned. I've had to reinstall several times. The update process is buggy, and often locks the user out until they restart their computer.

-Most of the upsells strike me as being a little greedy. You can't edit your background. If you want to have more than a few backgrounds, you need to upgrade. Most programs out there let you set whatever background you want.

-To all the defenders:
Are you defending this product after using it yourself?
Are you defending b/c you are an affiliate with them? As a subscriber to several lists, this is a good litmus test for me. If someone is promoting anything without trying it out themselves, if they still side with the product creator instead of listening to what the users are saying, that's a good sign I need to stop paying attention to those "gurus" or marketers.

I've wasted at least 2 hours trying to make a video, but run into different glitches. Things like not being able to edit all slides at once or change the font in the slides. The text crowding error mentioned above. The cost was fairly low, but about the same cost as better options like I mentioned above. The main issue for me is the time waste. Writing this as therapy after having another go at it today.

I do however find it totally offensive that anyone who has not a reputation for scamming people would suddenly be called one. The man has come in, I have not seen Mark do so but I know enough about this fellow to stand up for him.
The product obviously has issues, That is not disputed. It should have had much more testing, that is not disputed, but you don't realize the damage that can be done to someone calling them a scammer, He is not a scammer. He also is not the sole creator of this product.
That is why I posted, He doesn't know me and I don't know him I know of him and what he has done and therefore I know he is not a scammer so I firmly stood up for him. He probably knows of me but I have no dog in this fight
If you think that is bad , so be it. I would hope someone would have the decency to do the same for you or myself for that matter.

I just grabbed this last night.
I'll be honest - I thought the upsells were bordering on ridiculous (as were the tactics used when upsells were skipped). Yes, it may result in a lot more profit, but I can't help but think it will have a negative impact on overall trust and goodwill among customers (but maybe I'd just an idealist. I dunno).

The software itself looks awesome - I suspect it has been tweaked quite a lot since it was first released.

Only thing (so far) that doesn't seem to be working for me is the animation. No matter what one I choose (whether individual slide or in bulk) the text just appears normally.

UPDATE: I must say that support response time is awesome. I received a reply WHILE I was typing this (lol). It seems animation does work - just not in preview. I've now added this to my wishlist below

Some things I'd love to see added in coming weeks/months
- ability to add your own background templates
- ability to bring graphics to the front or push them to the back (NOTE: You can basically do this now based on the order the elements are added - but would be nice to have the flexibility to switch things around once added if need be, rather than deleting and re-adding)
- font size increase just by dragging the text window bigger
- option for voice AND music tracks (sounds like this one is planned)
- ability to quickly preview individual slides (like in Powerpoint) so I can see how animations look (obviously they would need to work first - haha) - not being able to preview animations at all is a REAL limitation in my mind (and ironic given how much time the program can save otherwise)
- option for different sizing (not forced to use 1280x720)
- more training videos (maybe showing different kinds of videos being made etc)
- might be cool to have option to add various additional effects (drop shadow, glow etc)
- just generally, I REALLY hope these guys over-deliver with the promised updates and roll them out quickly

Something I really LOVE (that drove me up the wall with VideoMakerFX) is the ability to emphasize individual words (with bold, diff colors, underline etc). It's a small thing but hugely important in my mind!

As it stands, I am really happy with the purchase - bare minimum, I know I can create some nice marketing (and even educational) videos with this program so much more easily than with powerpoint and camtasia - and I think they will even look a lot better!

I wonder if I can make a suggestion..

I know you have an auto-updater integrated in Easy VSL, but it would be a great idea if there was a note that came with the update (or separate web page) where you set out all the changes that happened with each update.

That way users know what issues have been fixed or updated, and what new functions were added.

As there have been so many updates, it would make it a lot easier to know what issues were fixed or new functions added.

If so, do you just uninstall on the first system, and then install on the second system... or is the process more elaborate?

I bought EasyVSL when 2.0 came out, but just got around to installing it yesterday. Unfortunately, there are still issues. I wrote support about the following:

1. On their "Working Inside of the Timeline" training video, they show you are able to right click on an audio in the timeline and a box pops up with two options: Split and Remove. In real life, there is only one option & it says Remove only.

I wrote to support stating I was a new user, I have 2.0 and this is my issue. I got a one line answer telling me that they didn't understand my question and to make sure I had installed 2.0 and not 1.0. Frustrating, they didn't address the specific issue.

Next, I took screenshots to show them what their video showed and then what my desktop version showed. Zero response.

I continued with creating my video and came up with other issues:

2. Their training video shows that you can "drag out" an audio file so it matches the length of your other audio file. For example your video narration audio may be bigger than your background music audio. I tried to use this "feature" just to find there was no ability to "drag out" background audios to match my speaking audio - as their training video shows is possible, but in real life it is not.

3. Once video is renders, the program freezes. I had to uninstall and re-install to fix this issue. Still haven't received a response on why this happened and if it will continue to happen.

4. There are no instructions on HOW to UPLOAD this rendered (complete) video to YouTube. I have uploaded many of my Camtasia video's to YouTube, so I know how to do it, but their rendered file is not an accepted YouTube format. I've asked for instructions on how to do this, which I'm surprised is not on a video training. Still no response.

One more item I've just noted (and in fairness haven't mentioned in a support ticket - because they aren't responding anyway) - I went to a lot of trouble to create slide animations on each of my slides, NONE of them work.

I'm very surprised that there are still these levels of issues. I'm also surprised that their support isn't all over responding to my questions when these are all simple issues that should be addressed.

If anyone else has had these issues and have found a solution, please let me know. The biggest one right now for me is how to upload to YouTube. Thanks!

This is very vague. The slide syncing works perfect, so this is probably a user-specific issue (if any).

I just wanted to pass along an update about my experience and the issues I had with easyvsl.

For one, all my issues have been fixed. Several updates to the software were made that corrected the problems I experienced.

Secondly, I couldn't be happier with their support. They were fast and efficient fixing each issue I had.

Lastly, easyvsl makes it easier to complete long vsl's (30, 40, 50 mins) compared to a ton of other software options out there. And I think I have tried and used virtually ALL of them.

All my issues were fixed in a few days, but I have been a little busy lately to come on here and post a update. However, I hate it when I read posts where something is wrong, doesn't work right etc. but the op never returns to tell what happened if anything, So here I am.

Kudos Matt... and kudos to your team. I appreciate all their hard work and for producing a simple software that does what it says and saves a ton of time.

Just curious if everyone here still recommends EasyVSL or if there are other VSL programs that are just as good or better?

I'd love to hear your feedback...
