  • I have been using the free version of Camtasia , Ulead video studio. Even sometimes I use the Windows Movie Maker also. If you are expert in the Camtasia, you can use this one or Ulead. both of this app is working good. Thanks.
  • I use camtasia too, Video Maker Fx and Explaindio.
  • Camtasia & Video pad.. mainly I record with Camtasia recorder then edit it with videopad.

  • I actually started out many years ago using Windows Movie Maker and got alot of views with those videos. Today I use camtasia.
  • Using Easy Sketch Pro.

Looking at Easy Video Suite, neat feature but kind of expensive.

    • I'm not too impressed with EVS... It's not what I thought it would be..
  • For my main business as a Webinar host for Business owners, I also use Camtasia.
It sure is easy to use and I save it as a MP4. So I can upload the webinar to Amazon S3
as a Webinar replay. Works like a charm.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I use camtasia too. Very easy for screen recording and editing....
  • Camtasia should work fine for most IMer's needs.
  • I just use camstudio and a custom software called ArcSoft Video Impression. It's expensive, but gives you the option to instantly turn your video into a podcast with 1 click. I love it.
  • Depending on what I want to accomplish, one or more of the following:
    PowerPoint
    Explaindio
    VideoMakerFX
    Sony Vegas
    Corel Video Studio
    Proshow Producer
    Sparkol VideoScribe
    Camtasia
    Google Earth Pro
    PhotoStory 3
    DVD slideshow GUI
    Samsung video camcorders (2)
    CrazyTalk 5
    CrazyTalk Animator Pro 1

    Also recommend:
    VideoBlocks - stock video
PresenterMedia - PowerPoint templates, videos and animated graphics
    AnimationFactory - Quality animations
    Easy Gif Animator
Pixabay - free public domain pictures and images
    clker.com - Public domain clipart
    Audacity - free audio editor
    USB microphone
    Any Video Converter
    The Logo Creator
    Photoshop
    Inkscape
    Serif DrawPlus 5

  • Camtasia still #1 in my book. I don't think you'll find better quality anywhere else in terms of screen recording software.
  • camtasia good but have to pay window movie maker always free

    • I used Movie Maker before switching to Camtasia some years ago.

  • I think one reason you're seeing a bunch of different responses here is that people do different things with video. I simply record on my own Iphone, since my videos are just talking about wine or other products. Simple and effective, especially once I get them transcribed.

If you're taking images and voiceover your needs are much different than mine are though.

What type of videos are you making? If you give us a better understanding of what you're picturing we can probably help suggest a solution-

    • I too just use the video on my tablet. Now I will need to add my contact info to my videos so I'm reading this thread with interest. I can't just record a short contact video to attach to each one I shoot cause I'm wearing different clothes. So I will have to do an edit and scroll my store addy and maybe phone number along the bottom. I sell one of a kind vintage collectibles in a brick and mortar store and I'm moving into online sales. I need a bigger market and eBay has gone nuts with "customer service" ideas.
Windows Movie Maker was all the rage five years ago. I've been partial to Aviary but now it's gone. No one's even heard of it these days, lol.

  • I'm using Camtasia Studio for all my editing and most of my screen recordings.
Another tool I use for screen capture is Bandicam (for full screen game captures only).

Next I use Handbrake to reduce the file size and finally I upload it. I'm using Wistia primarily as well as Youtube for some extra traffic.

And that's about all I use. Oh yeah, and a camera comes in handy as well
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • I have VideomakerFX, Explaindio, EZ Sketch Pro. I find Explaindio the most flexible. I also have Corel Video Studio for edits. These are good products, as is Camtasia. It's your experience with the given tool that is most important.
  • I love aTube catcher. Warning though it comes with A LOT of PUPs (possibly unwanted programs). Be sure to uncheck the offers. It has a good screen capture video and allows you to download Youtube videos (personal use only to avoid copyright problems)

  • Presently I am using Windows movie maker, but in the beginning I've used Camtasia and it worked great. I am unable to install on XP in these days.
  • ^ It's the other way around for me. But I switched from Windows XP a long time ago.
I actually prefer camtasia, I'm not even sure if it's because I got used to it after using it for so long or if it's genuinely better than the Windows Movie Maker

  • I use VideomakerFX for creation and I use Screencast-O-Matic Pro to edit and screenshare. SCO is free and for $15 a year you can upgrade to the Pro version. It works great!

  • For people who just want a quick screen record without paying for Camtasia or other paid tools, you can always use QuickTime. Not sure if it's available on Windows as well.

Just open quicktime, click File, and click New Screen Recording. Works pretty well and it's free.
  • I use both free and Paid tools, for the free one I use Windows video Maker and Google Hangout (the youtube video maker tools are pretty easy to use too).

As for the paid tools I use Camtasia mostly, but now I'm using Easy Sketch Pro (I'm in love with the whiteboard videos!) and Video Motion Pro, even though I'm not 100% convinced with the last one.
  • how do you edit videos in terms of cutting into several parts and combining with another videos ? What tool do you use to do that?
  • I use MyScreen Recorder Pro by Deskshare, so far I have no issue with this software
  • Here I found most of the people are using the camtasia. I am using these apps also. it is also a good apps. Beside it, there are many apps available. you can use any of them. Best of luck.

    • Usually Screenflow.

I see many are recommending VideoMaker FX but I bought it a year ago on my Mac and it was the most clunky and buggy software I have ever purchased. (Maybe the issue then was only with the Mac version?) I'm looking again at buying a whiteboard animation style software and the cheapest seems to be EasySketchPro 2 at only $29.00. Hopefully it's better than VideoMaker FX.
  • will you try something like powtoon?
    • [1] reply
    • I prefer Bandicm (Generally used for recording games) as it doesn't eat up your Ram or slow down your PC.
Than I edit the video with Adobe Premier Pro, you can also use Windows Movie Maker.

Camtasia is a great all in one video creater and editor tool, but its price is just way too much!

Powtoons is used mostly for creating animation based videos and presentations.

Animoto ,stupeflix & window movie maker are the best tool for video creation .
  • I think the overall consensus in this thread is Camtasia rocks Hmmm, a few other suggestions I will take note of as well and do some research for later on. Video marketing is big business and something I may really want to dig my teeth into later on.

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.
  • Camtasia All the way.
I heard good things about Adobe Captivate...something to look for in the future !

  • In case you want to add your branded logo to an existing video, and to share it on facebook or any other social network supporting video, watch the online tool Video Branding. com which is a simple way of doing it online.
  • I've used Powtoon before and I can say that it is fun to use if you like animated videos.
  • If you already know the basic version then go to adobe premiere pro and if you want to learn the basics then just use power director

  • I've used powtoon for free but for noncommercial purposes only, if you are able to purchase it then you can remove its watermark. I've been hearing a lot of recommendations and good feedback about camtasia too so I want to give it a try. I also had Adobe Premier, it is good but I am still on the process of exploring it.
