I Just Gave Aweber The Boot!

I must say I feel pretty good about it. Their site has become such a nightmare that I was avoiding doing things.

After waiting literally 20 minutes, this morning, for the broadcast editor to load, I exported all my lists and cancelled my account.

Just FYI - Choosing bells and whistles over functionality and ease of use is a huge mistake!

So who did you move to? I gave aWeber the boot a few weeks ago, then I moved to Sendy.co.

Aweber looks like HostGator and Coca-Cola.
It is the most popular service. You may like or dislike it, but it is the benchmark.

Thats interesting you say that because I've always though GetResponse was... however I have aWeber and I'm thinking of switching to GetResponse as they have integration with JVZoo purchases ( you can build a buyers list with it automatically after person buys anything they sign-up).

I too have GR and like the opt-in page builder that integrates with the list created within the system. Seems to a pretty robust autoresponder and funnel builder but I'm fairly new

I'd like to know the new home of your list. I'm guessing it was an import friendly service since you likely have a pretty good size list with Aweber?

I've been thinking of switching to constantcontact to see if the inboxing is better (that 60 day free trial is very tempting).

I moved to INinbox several months ago and so far, I'm very happy with their service. No complaints at all.

You do not want to use Constant Contact. It is the weakest of all the email marketing companies.

A single auto-responder sequence. That is right, have different sales funnels? You are SOL.

Have multiple lists? Great, just don't expect more than one sign up form. Yep, thats right, you get to do one sign up form. That is it. Need sign up forms for different lists? To Bad.

Need date based functionality? To bad. People have been asking for it for 6 years and they just don't care. Constant Contact is the company that spends all their money on marketing and no money on increasing the functionality.

They bought Single Platform a few years back and still have no plugins or modules for easy integration. They are still using iFrames in many cases.

        Avoid, avoid, avoid!

aweber has missed the boat big time with their editor.

they basically have a template editor load every time you want to edit a message or send a broadcast.

i know they have a template system, but it just saves a message as a template.

templates and message editor should be 2 different things.

just like in wp...you have a templates and then you have blog posts. the editor for the blog posts...what people use 95% of the time is simple and streamlined.

awebers functionality is piss poor. its like they dont use the system themselves or only do so when connected to google fiber. you should try using their site from an ipad on 3g when you are out somewhere....its awful....and there is no need for it be that way.

the longer they ignore the usability of their system, the more people will move on. very few of my new lists are created using awebers system. its only a matter of time before they lose me if they dont make some changes.

I wonder if I was having my troubles the same time you were having yours. I was building a new follow up series and the editor kept going blank. It's happened before but today it was every few minutes. I'd have to use one of my auto saves which were always missing the content I was in the process of writing up when the editor went stupid.

Aweber is awesome if you know the right settings. I've been big on targeting audience members using the KNOW-LIKE-TRUST filtering process. Aweber enables me to do this very smoothly.

They can TRIPLE their price and I'd still think they offer a great value!

So out of all the big auto responder services, which one is the one people are most happy with?

I use http://rocketresponder.com (unlimited subscribers $20) simplicity, inexpensive, good support, high deliverability. I've had it for about a year and joined when it was only $10 a month

Geez guys, I thought we were past this stand-alone email gunk. Have you not discovered the importance of having an email system that's integrated with your CRM, auto-responders, shopping cart, member site, and scheduling?

can't really anything much about aweber. Since from when i began list building, i used
mailchimp first then moved on to trafficwave. Trafficwave is just cool.

I gave Aweber the boot because it was complex and not at all user friendly. I grabbed up rocketresponder. They only charge $20 a month no matter what my list grows to. Simple enough to navigate and make it happen
