Best mobile app building software?

With so many mobile apps builder on the market, which one do you recommend?

I thought those drag-and-drop app builders are cool but then it lack a lot of customization.

Are there any recommended mobile app builder that also allows us to do some minor coding for customization?

Unfortunately, there is not much middle ground. You basically have the options of the drag and drop builders or basically creating from scratch.

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish, there are different builders for different targets.

If you have some technical ability or experience, then something like Seattle Clouds can be drag and drop with more customization. There are 'JQuery' page types. With JQuery, you can basically custom code just about anything. I have seen SC apps which connect to enterprise cloud database systems with JQuery pages.

All wrapped up inside of SC where you can compile and release apps (including ios) without needing a Mac.

Otherwise, check out something like PhoneGap. Fully custom environment but extremely technical in nature.

      Hi, thanks for your reply.

I am a coder so I thought there could be an app builder that could behave a little like "Visual Basic" type of stuff. (Yeah, I know... that's ancient language ). You know... drag-and-drop a module, code on that module and done.

      I'll check out your recommendations.

You might want look at corona sdk. It's now free and can target ios and Android and can build games and utility apps. It's not drag and drop but uses Lua a scripting language. There are a ton of tutorials and videos available (it's been around about 5 years) so plenty of help available.

Not sure you are talking about mobile app builder pure meaning or you can consider the apps/game engine like Sencha touch or Unity3D. I believe it will belong to your need. What type of apps/game you want to build?
