IMO a good start in the fundamentals, particularly within my own forte of online/offline MLM training, includes books written by Dan Kennedy, Seth Godin, Tom Hopkins, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Tom "Big Al" Schreiter, David Williams, Ron G Holland, and our own Claude Whitacre.

  • John Carlton has a book called Kickass copywriting secrets, and I think it is by far one of the best you need to buy.

    Why?

Because you NEED to know about proper marketing and how to sell with your words.

You're thinking, "I'm not going to sell a product and create a salesletter, so I don't need this."

Well, believe it or not, any time you are writing anything with the intent of convincing somebody to buy IS copywriting.

When you make a website and you're writing a review about a product, you HAVE to convince people to believe in what you are saying. Even if everything you say is true, you need to know how to make people buy with your words. What you write can compel people to SHELL out their money.

This book will help you to find out how to SELL anything with your words. We all use copywriting whether we realize it or not.

You're copywriting when you are writing a salesletter, creating a squeeze page, writing a review, or anything involved writing and trying to sell something.

    Crossing the Chasm
    Selling the Invisible
    Buy-ology
    Permission Marketing

    Amazing books!

Also if you can get your hands on books like Crossing the chasm. You will have an upper hand.

For other stuff, I would suggest being apart of paid/private communities.

I can honestly say I haven't read any, but I see everyone everywhere keeps recommending "The 4 Hour Work Week". It must be worth reading then!
