Socialbot is not the answer. Use to use it, went through the process cannot even find links it says that are posted. Bookmarking itself is questionable anymore on its relevancy to linking strategy.

Bookmarking Demon is kept up to date and comes with over one hundred sites. If you ping your accounts - this is free inside of BMD - your links will get more authority.

In my research on bookmarking sites, I built a few of each kind just to see what the default settings are on the free scripts. Ever wonder why the links just disappear? It is not because they are discounted by the search engines. It is because the default settings of the bookmarking site installations create temporary links. For example, if I built a scuttle site today and did not change the default settings, every link left on my scuttle site would die after 14 days. Many webmasters do not change that setting.

Bookmarking Demon cannot change that situation. What it can do is allow you to add more bookmarking sites and automate the process of initial and repeated bookmarking. You will find sites that are not using default settings. You can also build bookmarking sites yourself, make the settings create links that last forever, and then use BMD to submit to your own network of sites.

In my testing over two years, the stickiest links of the main bookmarking sites are the ones I have created at Mister Wong.

Bookmarking is not dead. It is just one of dozens of ways to get links. Submitting by hand vs submitting with automated software like BMD, is identical in the eyes of the search engines. When I site goes viral at digg or stumble upon and receives hundreds of links in one day, which we know happens, it does not get penalized by the search engines. A site receiving hundreds of bookmarks in a day is not unusual.

BMD has a scheduler, new with version 5, that allows you to put the bookmarks in queue and submit them slowly over time, mimicking hand submission, if you prefer.

Diane, If I understand the problem right, after I have created automated accounts with BM then eventually, hopefully within 14 days, i will need to manually login to each social site and change the default settings.

It is because the default settings of the bookmarking site installations create temporary links.

What I meant by that is if you build your own bookmarking websites you will lengthen that time period, create all your accounts and then shut down registration. So you are creating permanent links on sites you own.

As a user of a bookmarking site, you do not have access to its settings.

Anytime I think what the best software is .........well ..LOL I have to say my mind.
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear. Too many people want miracles from software in my humble opinion.
I just think being creative with a little human touch is nice.

I am using Auto Social Poster, a plugin for Wordpress. It has done me well so far, and one of my blogs hit a pr3 in less than a month... Granted Google PR udates were going around at the time.

However, with all the good comments about Onlywire, I will have to check it out

I'm quite interested in Onlywire as I've only just heard of it here. In terms of social sites, one of the many i use is Twitter. The good thing about Twitter is that you can connect it to Aweber. If you have an Aweber account, you can use this site to do all your email marketing. One of its features is to send out broadcasts to all your active sucribers. When setting up a broadcast, Aweber asks if you have a twitter account. If so, just plug in your twitter login details and Aweber then posts directly into your twitter account as and when your broadcast goes out.

It's okay getting social bookmarking software, but the main hassle is setting up all the accounts that you'll be posting to. I've got SocialBot, which I believe is good. I got a particular company - not Big Mike's company - to set up all the accounts and I was ready to go. Problem is since upgrading to SocialBot 4 I have had trouble getting into all my accounts. The company I used to set up all the accounts (Account Services at accountcreation7@gmail.com) is not answering emails, so I am unable to use SocialBot at the moment. If anyone knows who I can use to set up all the accounts again, please let me know.

Onlywire is nice, but i would have to agree with Mr Money Maker, and say that wer are to focused on automation, which works wonders don't get me wrong, its just in regards to social networking, it should be coming from you, use the automation in a way that reflects your personality, and beware of possible hiccups in programming...

(ie it sending out all your scheduled tweets in one day, and ten getting banned for spamming...)

I use onlywire a lot too, it is free as long as you post a link to it from your site, but this can be pretty much any blog or website you have. The benefit is that it is really fast and automated, the downside is that all the titles and tags and descriptions are the same.

If you want to take a little more time a semi automated tool is "Social Marker" it pre-fills a lot of info for you and takes you to each site where you can tweak the titles and descriptions to your liking.

I use both Bookmarking demon and Onlywire in different sites (but from the same niche and similar content) to split test.

Somehow I got better results in leading traffic using Onlywire (a free tool) than with Bookmarking Demon.

Looking at onlywire paid subscritpion it is to 42 sites...With bookmaking demon I know its well in teh hundreded with mnost beign I belive Plig sites etc. How many of the top sites does MND do compared to the 42 onlywire uses. Im thinking 42 @ $10 a month or BMD @150 +/- forever? What is best.

BMD as they always update and add/remove sites. You can also add your own. I'm thinking Hooked on Spelling for you.

Seriously though, if you take the time to learn BMD, it will pay you dividends. Anything that helps you get things done quicker right? And it IS a one time fee...

I used bookmarking demon with little to no effects but this may be due to the fact that I wanted to build too many links in a very little amount of time.

What made me think was the fact that I couldn't find the links build with this software in yahoo site explorer, even though it was generating hundreds of backlinks.

Maybe links from social bookmarking sites are not mentioned in the site explorer report?

I've been using BMD for over 5 years and out of the other bookmarking services and programs I've used, I'd say this is the best.

It's constantly updated and they're always updating the sites. The only problem I find with BMD is the success rate of posting can be as low as 50%.
