Hostgator "Wordpress Optimized" Managed Wordpress Hosting

Has anyone else given this a shot?

Managed WordPress Hosting Optimized For Speed & Security - HostGator

Looks like this service is only a few days old.

I was about to add a normal shared package to my Hostgator account and thought would give this a shot on the $12.95 /mo plan. I don't mind paying 2x if it will prevent malware, set up the cdn etc.

I'm used to only cPanel hosting.

The domain has propagated but I have not been sent any / cannot find any way to log in to start setting up the site. (e.g. domain/wp-admin). On hold to support... 30 minutes wait.

I am not a big fan for hostgator after their sellout and migration to different datacenter. Rather paying that high amount for shared hosting for wordpress I would prefer to buy VPS hosting service and secure it as per my requirement.

I wanted to connect Google Apps to it and got this from their support:

For the WordPress Optimized hosting packages, we can modify the MX records for you. In order to create a new Google Apps email address, you need to purchase a license for each email address/account. Currently, the new WordPress hosting doesn't support Google Apps orders yet, but you can still order Google Apps email addresses at https://www.google.com/work/apps/business/ and we can assist with any DNS record changes you need to make if you can provide the instructions.
      Hilarious?

I was thinking going with WPEngine instead. But their sales consultant doesn't know how to connect Google Apps. Not sure if he was trying to be funny or genuinely doesn't know.

Funny I had a similar experience with their sales consultant and just thought he didn't give damn, annoyed me a bit.
Anyway have had enough of Hostgator and looking at moving elsewhere.
