Namecheap hosting - OK or not?

I was looking for an alternative to Hostgator. So far, I use Namecheap since I register domains with them. I found this thread when searching at G. Any views on Namecheap? | Web Hosting Talk

However, since the thread is 3 year old, the complaints could be outdated. To Warriors who's been using Namecheap this year and 2014, how is your website performance?

    Namecheap staff was also in discussion.
    My shared hosting experience: cheap and stable, speed ok, live chat support fast and good, no phone support. They are within top 3000 alexa, big enough that should not suddenly disappear. Godaddy hosting is much more expensive with bad support.

      No problem to me if there is no phone support. I live outside USA so I won't be contacting them on phone anyway.

        I also don't live in USA so I wouldn't use phone call support as well, I would rather they cut the cost of phone call service and decrease the price.

        I did have similar issue when I just moved to namecheap, but after 1 or 2 months I think much less problem, still have similar problem may be like 1 or 2 times a year but very short, few minutes down something like that.

            It seems that this guy is from the company itself trying to promote his hosting service here. He has only 3 posts and already posted here. Sooner or later the mod will delete his post.

    Tried them for just domains .. For hosting I still prefer https://www.Rshosting.Com as I get the attention and quick support whenever request, I will suggest you to try their support before you decide with hosting. As most of such big companies have a big support issue.

    Same case here, I use them only for Domains. Not because there hosting is bad, just to avoid getting blackmailed. I keep my hosting and domain name separate.

    I am on greengeeks right now, they are reasonable and their customer support is really great. Have not had any trouble with them till now.

    I've been using them for close to a year - have a WHM reseller account with them, we don't host for anyone other than ourselves but like having the WHM for running multiple websites. They run on SDS so the speed is good, price is excellent, and although there is no phone support - the live chat and email support are excellent. Any issue (and there have been minimal problems) are resolved very quickly.

    We have about 50% of our domains there - but I have had my domains there for years and have always been very happy with the service. We've sold and transferred a number of domains over the years, and the process has been easy to transfer to another customer.

    Definitely better than most other companies we have used over the last 15 years.

      The price is really good, I don't think any popular hosting brand can beat or even close to their price.
