SitePal is a membership service that lets you create an animated avatar and link to it from your site. I first heard about it on TotalAccess.com and thought I'd check it out.
The first 14 days are a free trial. After that the Bronze package (smallest one) is $9.99/mo or $99/yr.
You can create pretty much an unlimited number of characters with a lot of different options for features. The animation is synced to audio, but not extremely well. They give you the choice to upload your own voice track or type in your text and have it read by a TTS program. I didn't use this because of the computer sounding voices.
They do have a service to use professional voice actors, but it costs extra.
There is a way to upload a photo of a person and they will create an animated character from it, but it also costs extra.
I created a couple streams and put one on my opt-in page. The results weren't spectacular, but it did increase my opt-in rate. It's only been on a couple of days, at this point, so it's too early to have much data.
I do like the way it looks, though. And I will probably keep going after my trial ends. (I assume that when you cancel all your streams will stop)
Bottom line: It adds some character to the page and if the guys at TotalAccess are right, it should increase my opt-ins. It definitely sets the page apart from the average squeeze page.
