does BANS or build a niche store still work? do you get sales and commissions?

I was wondering do you guys still use BANS or build a niche store script
to build ebay affiliate stores?

I tried to install today the latest version but getting an error
I changed the paremeters of cont.php to 777 as asked but still getting an error.

anyways is it worth do build a ebay site with BANS? or there is a better option?

    I don't know of it still works from a technical standpoint, but I don't use it or anything like it anymore.... at least not the way I used to. Google searches used to return search strings from pages that were pretty much nothing but hotlinked text (the auction titles), but that free traffic ride is over now.

    You'll need good text content on the page now besides the auction links. I'm not sure what's going on with eBay's affiliate program currently. I haven't pushed them this year. They jerk affiliates around too much with their constant changes in how sales are counted and the payouts. I'm not wasting an ad spot anymore for that one buyer for that one auction. AdSense or whatever will probably pay more unless your site's topic is something where the traffic is going to be all over eBay.

        I started having problems with some of the functions in BANS like not being able to save or update parts of the sites. So, I stopped using it a couple years ago. I think there's still some people using it that have created "hacks" to some of the code and functions but wouldn't know how to find them anymore.

        One alternative to BANS that still works is phpBay Pro. It has a Wordpress version and an API version. It also has versions for Amazon. It still works and hasn't needed any updates for awhile. But, there's a rumor in the user forum that some upgrades may be in the works.
