Google Work At Home Job Scam?

Hi Folks

I received this in the mail today. It says that Google is looking for people in the US and Canada to work from home posting links and get paid for doing so. Here is the link

[Affiliate link removed by moderator]

Is it preparing Adword campaigns?

Looks too good to be true. Is it a scam? AS the saying goes ...

Regards

Norman

It's a sales page. No links to any media shows (they're all available on video) - just a banner with the bid media logos.

News 4 Show - online edition

The domain (new4online . net) was registered 10 days ago - I'd unsubscribe from whoever sent that by email.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

I've seen this show up on Alexa Hot Sites quite often - and it seems like it is unfortunately not legit

This is a new site for a continuity scam that has been running for at least a year or two. Once you pay the $1.97 "shipping" for your kit, you have enrolled into a continuity program that will bill you for about $70. every month from then on.

Their TOS specifically says you have to cancel within 7 days; what used to happen is, you had to email them for the link to the website with the cancellation form. Then, you had to download and print out the cancellation form. Then you had to fill out the form and MAIL it in to them

Of course you could never get this done within 7 days, usually because they never replied to your email asking for the cancellation form link.

I see that now they have a toll-free # to call if you want to cancel; my guess is a.) they rarely answer the phone, or b.) they give you a website link or an email address to ask for the cancellation form, which you can never get in time, and if you are able to get it, they still fail to cancel you for some reason. Probably the email addresses/phone numbers are phony.

Here's a link that describes how this scam operated about a year ago:
Make Google Cash Complaints - Fraud and cheating

Given the way their new website uses Google's name, I think they could be in for some trouble. They are practically claiming tobe advertising a program run by Google itself. However,I believe they are offshore, so it may be hard foranyone to pin them down.

But they are definitely giving Google a bad name!

Just Google for "Google scams" and you will find dozens of reports of this scam.

About a month ago, Google reacted to these kinds of schemes by introducing a new policy that does not allow you to promote "Make Money With Google" type sites on Adwords.

The strange thing is, they never let existing Adwords advertisers, like myself, know about this policy.

How did I find out then, you might be asking yourself? They suspended my accounts - all of them. Not that I was promoting scam sites like the one mentioned above, just the usual Clickbank products.

When I called them about it, they acknowledged that it was a new policy (called the "Google Money Tree" policy) and that they had not notified any advertisers about it, but when I agreed to remove those ads, they wouldn't unsuspend (is that a word?) my accounts!

    Can you believe it!!!!

I think Frank Kern's latest offering has the right idea.

Murph, your mom has 7 days from the time she paid the "shipping charge" for the kit, before they will charge her cc $69.95 or whatever it is now. They will then charge that same amount every 30 days.

I would suggest she call her cc company and try to have that card # blocked. The cc company can send her a new card with a new #. She may still have to deal with that $69.95 charge onher new cc, but it might prevent any charges from them.

And of course she should immediately try to follow their cancellation procedure, just don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

Keep us updated by all means!
