What WordPress theme and plugin for a membership site?

Hello there!

What's the best theme to use for a membership website? Can someone link me to a good example. I want the front page to be simple... My logo, some text, maybe and image and then two or three buttons. I want the theme to look like when they register and get access to members area, it looks like a control panel from were you can choose what you'll view. I will be uploading videos for them to watch.

I'm also looking for a membership plugin that for example will display a different page for those that purchase the trial and for those that purchase the full membership. Or maybe that the plugin blocks a part of the content if they are only a trial user...

It would also be great if I could integrate GetResponse with the member signups.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

~ Dave

You should search the net and find the membership sites you like. Once at those sites try to find out what platfrom the yre using. You can also click right button on your mouse and select "view source". There you can see all sorts of things that website is using. For example if the website is using wordpress, once in the source code you look for "theme" and you'll see what specific theme that site is using. When you find the site and the platform used which you like, just get that for yourself. With some changes according to your taste your website will be just fine!

I use FastMember and love it. It's fast and easy.

I also use Zaxaa which has a free plan, includes free membersite plugin.

I actually like FastMember better but Zaxaa is good, especially if you're on a tight budget.

Both are WP plugins and integrate perfectly with GetResponse.

If you want to go full 'FREE' with a WordPress solution then I can recommend S2 Member with a decent theme. S2 is a plugin style membership system that has everything you need to set up a fully operational membership site. Integrate autoresponders & Paypal [Stripe also]
I suggest you use a theme such as Woo Themes 'Canvas'-or Elegant Themes 'Divi'.
The S2 member plugin is fully functional at the free level, but does have a 'Pro' option for additional support.
You could also use a free theme if you want to avoid any upfront costs-Zerif is being talked about as being a decent one, but there are as you know many.
I have no affiliation with the S2 people, I have simply used this in the past and noted what a great solution it is - it's up to you of course.

Go to themeforest.net and search for KLEO for wordpress. See if it suits your need or not, before you decide any. And don't forget to explore buyers comments about it in that page as well. Good luck.

My vote goes to OptimizePress2 but it's what I've been using for the best part of 2 years so I'm a bit biased now!

Any of these decent themes aren't cheap but you do pay for what you get.

I personally love what OP2 can do for you and if I can use it....

    Cheers

I'd like to thank everybody who replied.

I did some research on my own and decided to simply go with Subscribely theme and their InkMember and Price Tables plugins. I got everything to work but I'm still figuring out how to integrate GetResponse with users that register.
