Anybody here used Let's Encrypt, and do you recommend it?

Hi, I realize that this open-source platform has not been out in the public eye very long, still I did a search for it here so I wouldn't create any superfluous postings

Long story short: I had a gift certificate from Fiverr not too long ago and a limited time to spend it so I sought out the services of a website analytics specialist, who does custom reports. A Top-Rated seller, no less, and a great report, 9 pages long, as well as a bonus gift, for just $5 (I am a first-time buyer, btw.)

In the report I discovered some things I hadn't possibly thought of, and one thing was revealed was that my website does not have a valid security certificate, and that it is important. (Now this particular website is not set up for e-commerce, but I understand this is still important.)

So I now find myself going about the tedious task of finding out how to do this, and not have to spend an arm and a leg, and wonder who to trust, and who not to.

Well, I stumbled across this open source platform: "Let's Encrypt" dot org, and I am tempted to try them out since it won't cost me a dime, and I did find an article that would walk me through it.

Has anybody heard of Let's Encrypt, or used them before? Is this a good idea?

Thanks
