Origin Builder - What's the difference?

I just viewed the video of this product called Origin Builder website creator. I've tried several WP themes and while they are good, most of them are outdated already. Have anyone tried this? Is this also base on Wordpress or something else?

This product is basically reselling a re-skinned version of the Visual Composer Plugin for the "drag and drop" functionality. It looks like they tried to hide the design by updating the CSS.

Fair warning: it's a Precious Ngwu product and his reviews on the forum are very, very bad. Check out the comments on this blog. My experience with Traffic Fusion | Brett Rutecky

If you buy this, don't expect any decent support or updates since they're not the ones creating the product. You're better off buying Visual Composer direct and using a basic theme for your foundation.

Thanks for the tip. I got an email about Origin Builder and was impressed with the sales pitch. I hate it these "limited time offer" launches, but wouldn't you know it, it costs half as much from the original developer and there's no fake urgency.

      Jeez...

Update: Looking into Visual Composer at Codecanyon.net, I was surprised/disappointed to learn that their price ($34) is for a single site license; they don't have a multi-site license. Precious' Origin Builder was $67 for an unlimited multi-site license. That said, if his support is suspect...

Actually they do have a Multi-site License for like $150 and even an Agency license, which he probably got or better to Sell Origin, I whonder were updates will lie in time.. Probably will break in about 1 version of WP from now, and who knows how long he will take to update everyone.

Nope. According to the text of the $170 "Extended" license:

"You are licensed to use the Item to create one single End Product for yourself or for one client (a "single application"), and the End Product may be Sold.

This license is a "single application" license and not a "multi-use" license, which means that you can't use the Item to create more than one unique End Product."

If he bought this license to create his clone (if it is VC, I'm not positive) then he is clearly violating the license by (1) selling it to multiple users and (2) including a multi-site license.

Let the buyer beware, as they say...

I've been playing with Live Composer for a few days, and it's also just OK. Hard to get things to go exactly where and how you want them.

Just DLed Site Origin Pagebuilder, and it's a little better. I like the page templates it includes, and the slew of additional widgets you can get for free.

But I may go ahead and buy Thrive Page Builder. The real-time on-page editing looks like a game changer to me. And the number of "online marketing" page templates should keep anyone here on WF happy...

The second I see "limited time offer" I close it. If you really have a good product that you intend to make a business out of, why would it only be offered for a limited time? It's just a poor way of using the scarcity sales trigger.

I own Visual Composer and it's just okay. There are a lot of third party addons for VC which has helped sales, but there are a number of other great professional WordPress builders out that offer better solutions for the marketer which have licenses from single user to developer. I also found it slow to work with.

Interesting. Just OK, huh? It looks impressive from the outside. I suspect it has a bit of a learning curve. I played around with the demo, and "intuitive" is not a word I would use to describe it. But then, I haven't bought it, so I can't say that for certain.

What other "great professional WordPress builders" are you referring to?

      TIA

Take a look at Thrive Content Builder, Beaver Builder and Divi Builder. All of these allow unlimited websites. If you're doing this as a marketer, then Thrive in my estimation is hard to beat.

Thrive Page Builder is a much, much better alternative for internet marketers. It's a true WYSIWYG page builder so you can see what you're making in real time. No more jumping back and forth between the front end and back end to see the minor change you made.

As for Visual Composer, I agree that it's simply "ok". I actually bought an extended license to integrate it into a theme, but I didn't bother. There are several free page builders in the market now, btw, that look pretty good. Take a look.

Hello, thanks for the inputs on others, you might want to try Intense. Great one, very granular, but not drag and drop.

Is Origin builder actually VIsual Composer? Seems like it likely is, the amount of time develop something so eloborate would take really years. If it is a slow as VC, get ready for your machine to lock up. UPdate: I just tried a demo, and it locked up in Firefox, and seemed better in CHrome, try it out if your not sure @ vcpreview.com/

Yes, if you look at the "drag 'n drop" components, they have the exact naming convention, in the same order. They were simply re-skinned with CSS to look different. It also doesn't help that Precious Ngwu has resold plugins from Envato in the past. If you look up the WP Aviary launch, you'll notice it's the same product as Aviary for WordPress on CodeCanyon. The comments on Brett's blog say it all...

WP Aviary [review] | Brett Rutecky

Based on the comments I've read across the internet, if you ever see Precious Ngwu on a salespage or JV page, you can expect no support, no refunds and abandonware.

I agree with Jesus, Thrive Content Builder is the easiest and most intuitive - by far - of a slew of them I've tried. In fact, I made the mistake of buying ProStyler and OMG, what a major pain it is to work with. The other desirable aspect about Thrive is the continuous upgrades to ALL of their stuff AND accompanying quality training that just keeps on coming. Makes the annual fee a no-brainer in this ever-changing IM environment.
