Hey - any good recommendations for fast and relatively cheap Wordpress hosting.

Happy to pay $10 or so per month.

JVZOOHosting looks good.

Any personal recommendations?

    Hi,

    With the $10/month price tag, only shared hosting can be purchased and that is why no one can guarantee a fast and at the same time a good support when it comes to hosting.

    Almost all are almost same when it comes to performance, be it Hostgator, Bluehost or many others.

    However, I am sure, you are aware that on a shared server, these hosting companies do host many websites which are from many of their clients. If any website on that server is compromised (Which usually happens every now and then) the server responds slowly for all the websites on that particular server.

    Having said that, I always recommend to go for a VPS, even that come costly than a shared server. They are fast and results on performance basically depend upon your own sites.

      Well, unless they are running Cloud Linux, ... then it doesn't matter what the other sites do, they can't "over run" the server resources, and a compromised site doesn't give access to other users around it.

      How do I know, ... because I've been using it for the last 12 months+

      All of our cPanel servers in the US are using it without issue.

      Anyway, ... there are a bajillllllion web hosts out there, .... each one with "more features", or "better uptime" etc.

    I personally host my site through Nexcess. It's about $12 a month, but the extra couple of bucks are well worth it for the high level of support and service provided. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out, the sales staff is really helpful. And if someone says that HostGator and BlueHost and other EIG companies provide the same level of service, it isn't true. All shared hosting plans are not created equal, and most people don't need a VPS, they just need to not be with a bad shared host.

    Thanks everyone.

    I intend to host 5-10 Wordpress sites on the hosting for affiliate marketing - an email optin then a few review pages per site.

    And preferably personal experiences of the webhosts, as what they say and can be like can differ in reality

    You are not going to find good reliable Hosting for about $10. You just won't.

    If you want great and very reliable hosting (for wordpress or any platform) you need to spend at least $25+ a month.

    I would recommend you Traffic Planet Hosting. They have amazing support and the hosting one of the best around.
