  • I like to use Justhost.com

They're like 4 dollars a month right now AND if you look around you can get even more discount ;]. If you try 2 close out of their page they give you a 20% discount. You make all the money for a year worth of hosting with a single sale.

They also offer unlimited hosting 4 all your domains. check them out :]
  • I have hosting with godaddy, media temple (which sucks) and hostgator ..

hostgator is by far the best.. the customer support is awesome!

    • I have to agree... the support at Hostgator is awesome. They always help me with my issues.
  • Using them for some years and so far so good.
  • I have hosted with GoDaddy and Hostgator and Hostgator has by far been a better experience. Not sure if it is the best but I have not had any issues with them.
  • Hostgator, though its not the cheapest, has fast and good customer support.

Any know of a better hosting, please pm me.
  • Yes it is avery good hosting company ,

: I hosted my sites and domains on lunarepages for 4$/m and for renewal

they ask for 8$/m and 18$ For each domain ... Don't use this company .
  • Yes Hostgator is a great hosting company... I know a lot of AM using their services. Although you should also look into Justhost.com, which is another company I also use and so far it looks very promising!
  • Yep, serves me well! HostGator that is...
  • So far so good with hostgator, They have the greatest customer service ever.I usually buy my domain names from namecheap.com because they offer free whois. Then I switch my domain name host to hostgator because you can have unlimited domain name hosting. Hope this helps.
    • [1] reply
    • same like you cadoutsource, buy domain from namecheap and hosting from hostgator

      namecheap - provide free whois
hostgator - provide unlimited domain with single hosting
  • I'd recommend HostGator too!

Whilst they're definitely not the cheapest in the industry, it's the security and support that we're paying for. Unlike other hosts who advertise 24/7 support, HostGator is one of the few that actually has 24/7 support... they have technicians, sales and support staff working every hour of the day.
  • I have been with Hostgator for over a year now and they rock.

  • I've been using Hostgator for a couple of years now and they are great. I've never had a problem with downtime and the few problems I've had, their support staff helped me through it immediately. Excellent support!
I'm very happy with their service.
  • Hostgator is excellent.......
  • I used them as well and I didn't have any problem... except when my credit card expired! They took the page down right away!

Anyway, they are good, but make sure to manage your domain and update your credit card info in advance.

  • I use host gator for a number of my domains on shared hosts and they seem to be fine for me. I also find the customer live chat very helpful also.

P.S If your gunna use hostgator here's some coupon codes so you can get the first month for 1 cent

    1. "iceishot" - $9.94 OFF
    2. "jury" - $9.94 OFF

  • When you decide to get your own up and running, you'll want to find a good web host. I heard that Hostgator is excellent but their support service isn't very good. Another great host is supposedly Blue host. It is also very cheap and popular.

    Thanks.
  • Stay away from the UNLIMITED Disk Space and Bandwidth packages. The term unlimited is only a marketing strategy, go through the TOS of companies offering unlimited space or bandwidth and you will find some restrictions after all nothing in the world is unlimited.
  • I've been using Hostgator for about the last year and they have been excellent. Their customer service has been very responsive.

  • Hostgator are great, I can recommend them highly. Depending on your budget, and what you wish to do, the reseller account allows you to have a limitless number of websites or your Internet marketing needs. Just want to add, I am not an affiliate, just a happy customer. Ultimately, you have to decide what suits you and your needs.
  • mmmm, i used justhost and it's wonderful for just $3,95 and they have Money-Back Guarantee at any time. also with their server backup 24/7, with unlimited bandwith and diskspace and also their support helpdesk that very helpful.

That's just my opinion and I am not their staff. I'm just their satisfied costumer, so if there are different opinion than me, it's okay.

    • I've seen two recommendations in this thread for JustHost. I need to point out my own experience with them. I got an "unlimited" account with them for around $60/year and moved all my domains to the account. Then I started to notice that Wordpress admin pages would intermittently not respond as I was editing posts and updating config settings. It got to the point that I just couldn't update my sites at all for several days. On top of that, I have an external monitoring service checking one of the domains that I moved to JustHost. Here's the report from that service:

Below is your monthly uptime report for October 2009

      Outages: 22

      Downtime: 29 hrs, 30 mins

      Uptime: 96.55%

I contacted JustHost support about this and asked them to check the server that my account is hosted on. They told me that they "...do not support external monitoring services..." and that if I wasn't happy with their shared hosting service that I should upgrade to dedicated. They closed the ticket with no further response.

I noticed that in the JustHost Cpanel, they've disabled the "Server Status" link. This is the link to a page that will tell you whether any of the services you rely on are having problems (HTTP, FTP, email, etc.), how much disk space is being used on the host machine (ie, is the machine running out of disk space?) and what the server load on the host machine is. At HostGator, this option has always been available and still is today.

After this experiment in ultra-cheap hosting, I'm going back to HostGator. I may be paying a little more, but I can count on 99.99% uptime and that helps me sleep a little better at night.

      - Danton
  • I used FatCow and I loved it.
for just $3,67, full speed uptime, unlimited bandwith and diskspace, and their support system that very handy and helpful make me love this hosting site very much.

I don't know about hostgator, but since I found they have good reputation too, I think they are pretty cool to used. I do recommend it to you.
  • I think they are good and reliable.
I also love their customer care
    unit
  • Yes sir. Hostgator is absolute top notch. Been with them for years and years.
  • I have been using HostGator for a while and I'm happy with their service.

  • I use their Baby Croc solution, and so far I am satisfied with it, having one WP blog on there and planning on installing one or two more, eventually (without a crazy number of plug-ins, that is..). I have used many different web host companies and packages before, from free to cheap. So far I have nothing but good to say about HostGator.
  • I am happy with them, Have 5 sites hosted for $9 per month and can add more.

    • Hostgator is awsome. Very good 24/7 support.
  • i have the same opinions with some of the warriors, the customer support is great but it is quite expensive compare to some other hosting company.

I tried also exabytes (Malaysia) and also webhostingpad, not bad but i feel that the loading is slower than hostgator. So far, i have a good experience with hostgator, i would also recommend it to other.
  • I'm pleased with their customer service and affordable prices.

  • I've been with Hostgator for a couple months now.
So far, I'm not that impressed.

I bought my domain name with them (big mistake) and they messed
something up. It took me 6 days to finally get my site uploaded.

The second and third site I've hosted with them also came with problems.
Eventually, the problems got worked out but so far, the experience has
    been very frustrating.

    • I've been using Hostgator for about 6 months and I am impressed by their top notch customer service. I love the online chat option whenever I have something to ask and I get instant connection and my answers.
  • i like hostmonster better.
  • I stick with Hostgator b/c of their customer service.

I didn't know much about setting up a website and
they talked me right through it. They answered all
my questions plus you can get help 24/7.
  • I have found hostgator to be reliable as well. They will always answer any questions promptly. It only took them a few hours to set up ssh so I can log onto the server with putty.
  • I myself can't stand HostGator... Just the thought of going back to them makes me sick to my stomach. I had nothing but BS and trouble from their services, tech team and everything in between. I had transferred from 1and1 because I heard HG was the best. I did so and got nothing but headaches. I first got their baby account for a month or two which I was cool with except they messed up my xfer from 1and1, had to redo that again then when it came to setting up their reseller account that was a pain also. From cpanel malfunctions to disk space becoming full bc the email client wasnt deleting messages as they were pulled off. Finally I could not stand it any more and canceled after signing up with bluehost. So far no problems not to mention that adding domains onto the account is a breeze!! So in short, IMHO Don't Go with HG.

    • Hostgator is awesome. Whether it's shared hosting, a dedicated server, or seohosting.com (I use them all), excellent and quick service and support.

I have a script product that is installed and thus get to see many web hosts. There so many terrible hosting companies out there it is incredible.

As with any large company with hundreds of thousands of customers, things are bound to happen and not everyone will be happy. A couple posts here about that. But as with the vast, vast majority of reviews here and elsewhere, Hostgator is highly recommended. It is the only web host I currently recommend.

  • I've used hostgator for several domains and have been very happy with their support. They are always there, by chat, e-mail and phone, they do more than just regular support, they also make up for my lack of knowledge in some areas and perform tasks which normally I should perform.
  • I use hostgater for a few sites. They don't limit your bandwidth ... but, they throttle your cpu. Right now I have this notice: "During the past 24 hours your account has been throttled for a total of 42.713 seconds." I'm not exactly sure how this affects my visitors but it sure doesn't sound good!

  • have been with hostgator for almost two years and great support they have
  • I have used both Go Daddy and Hostgator -Hostgator is better and easier than Go Daddy to be sure. BUT I no longer use Hostgator myself - I have moved over to Kiosk (which is soon to be GVO/GDI. I LOVE Kiosk - I knew I would be making my life online so I went with the uber package but it has been well worth it - unlimited everything, awesome support, tonz of extras I have not even figured out how to use yet!
  • I use AptHost. One of the best services I've ever used. $47.40 for a year of hosting including a free domain.

PM me if you want to help me out and I'll send you my affiliate link.
  • Yes they are good. I use them for my site. No downtime and their customer service is quick and usually very good.

    • I Love HostGator

I fully recommend the business package that they offer.

    • I've been using them for 3 years. Great customer
service. When I've needed help, I just open up
      live chat.

They fix the problem, they stay on chat until I
      satified.

      Price is reasonable.
    • Yes, I think the best part of hostgator is being able to host unlimited domains for only ten bucks per month.
    • Host gator doesn't suits me.it troubles me a lot.i like just host.it provides excellent support with 24 hours live chat.
    • I have had great success with them, I have the baby plan. It allows me to host all my domains at the same place which make it handy when checking out stats on the control panel. The control panel is impressive and you add domains easily as well as perhaps set up a word press blog in minutes. I have had to call customer support once and they were amazing and answered my questions immediately and I got my issue resolved. So far, knock on wood, their servers have not crashed and I have not lost access. Anyway, I get my domains from Godaddy, but I host with hostgator. No issues. If you do get an account there go with the baby plan, especially if you want to host multiple domains.

      Good Luck Today
Tomorrow we begin the task of conquering our fears
  • I think what makes HostGator worth it,
is simply that there support is fast and
responsive to your questions and problems.

And that can make all the difference in the
    world with hosting.
  • I've been using Hostgator for quite some time. Very happy with them.

    Support team's top notch!
  • prefer bluhost more but there no differences
just dont like the hostgator monthly plan thats all prefer to pay for whole year and save money
  • Their support team are great and fast. They are one of the best hosting Company in the world
  • Hostgator get my vote because thier customer services is excellent, and can be reached 24/7.
  • I don't want hostgator to host my sites anymore! Why? All my sites are hosted with them, enough is enough I need a different hosting company this time with different IPs for SEO purposes.

    They're very good actually.
  • I've been using hostgator for a year
I love it it's been a few guys trying
to get me to switch but why, if it's
not broken why fix it, I'm not a big
    believer in change.

You know when things are going good
why rock the boat, HG is it.

Listen as marketers it's our business to
implement new things and systems so
at some point I'm sure most of us are
going to try some sort of other hosting
especially for multiple sites and blogs
[hopefully to have hundreds one day]
but you cant go wrong with HostGator.

    Alexis
  • Hostgator is incredible. They're online tech support chat is incredible. Godaddy is garbage and completely over hyped.
  • I love Hostgator. Been using them about 6 months now and have been very happy with their CS and features.

HATED 1and1.com (threw my site offline for 2 weeks due to a simple domain registrar transfer of a site that was already hosted on their server, awful customer service, refused to do anything to help me, said it was not their fault and that this is typical - come on, I did my first domain transfer back in 1997 or something, I have NEVER had two weeks of downtime - then had the gall to refuse to transfer the domain back to GoDaddy for several more weeks - despite me quoting ICANN rules to them ad nauseum).

Also had BAD customer service from ThirdSphere. They have some great features, but are overpriced. When one of my main money sites (at that time) went down because of a virus on THEIR server, the customer support wench told me in an email "Unless YOU know exactly which file on your site is corrupted, you'll have to wait until we fix everyone else's site and come back to yours." How was I supposed to know which file was corrupted? I could not access the server at all. And, if there were many sites affected by a virus, it was not my responsibility but that of their security. I was also somewhat miffed that they did not inform me when my site went down, since they were aware of the problem long before I was.

  • I love their customer support. They are incredibly responsive 24/7. I will have to spend a lot more than I have for them to break even, as their people have spent hours walking me through tech issues mostly because I'm a greenhorn. They never have a problem spending whatever time is needed to help me.
  • So the majority of warrior members think that Hostgator is good. I first applied to Godaddy's economic hosting and as my site grew went to upgrade to their deluxe package. I experienced several "server is not responding" or similar errors for several days.
I'm already contemplating on switching to Hostgator but lo and behold, Godaddy suddenly changed my server IP for improvements. Well, so far so good. But need to monitor if it will be consistent in the following weeks.
Hostgator will definitely next in line should this Godaddy "improvements" fails.

    • Have been using hostgator for some time - they do the job.

However, a few things to look out for.

      1. If you signed up with them over a year ago, some of the packages have now become cheaper. This may entitle you to a free upgrade to the next package up or cheaper prices in the future. However, its up to you to sort it out by contacting support.

      2. I'm not sure about you guys but logging in to your control panel is no longer by a secure server. domainname/cpanel. So it may be a case of purchasing a ssl certificate. If you are position it in the root so all have ssl access.
  • Hostgator are excellent, and exceptionally good for wordpress. Havn't tried many others but have an unlimited account with them so can't but recommend them!
  • EDIT I don't like GODADDY

HOSTGATOR has great customer service, when you can't figure out why your website wont load, they can help, specially if you are newbie. you can get something cheaper, and you might get a cheaper customer service level. Pay some get some

  • I have been using Hostgator for about a year now. I started with the "baby gator" pkg. for about $7.95 per month but had to go to a reseller acct. ($24.95)so I could host multiple domains / sites. Have had very good customer service as well as good tutorials showing you how to use. I haven't tried any other host companies so I can't compare to other hosts but I do have 2 other sites with Site Build It which is $299 per year but you get a whole lot more than just simple hosting.
  • I use hostgator for one of my sites. No complaints so far :-)

    • I use Hostgator and so far, they are pretty good and the support is awesome.
  • Hostgator is the best , i am using it for 2 years now .They have great customer support service and the server never went to down .I am much satisfied customer .
  • I use Hostgator and their support is the best support i've had from any company, they reply to support tickets within an hour, sometimes within 10mins i've experienced and they will always try their best to help.
  • I have tried different host and hostgator had the best customer service to me. They took the time to go in detail through every step until I understood how to do the task.
  • Hostmonster is the best. period.
  • I have not personally used HostGator but have friends who have and they love those guys. So based off the testimonials of my close friends I would say... Go with HostGator!
  • Purchased HostGator for my Wordpress blog...now that I'm not using it anymore we'll see.

The only problem (if you want to call it that) is that there are a ton of options available on the cpanel that most people won't ever use. It can also be tricky to figure out which options you need to get the most for your money.
  • Many of the "big names" in IM use Hostgator. This alone doesn't mean a thing, but one thing I've found is that many "add on" products and services are "designed" with Hostgator in mind. For instance, ViralInviter's documentation is specifically geared towards installing it on Hostgator (though it can be used with any hosting co.). So, if you're looking for a "standard" - and I would argue it's the "gold standard" - then look no further!

I've used about half a dozen hosts over the years, and I think Hostgator is among the very best ever. Further, their customer support - even if you've got a question at 3:45 A.M. Sunday morning - is always ready, capable and even cheerful.

They've even helped me (at great length on several occasions) work out problems that were only peripherally related to them! Many companies (perhaps most) would simply not do that.

Hostgator rocks! That's my experience, anyway.
  • I use Hostgator and am impressed by their customer service.
  • I am using Hostgator and super affiliate Mark Ling recommends it as well in his product Affiloblueprint.

  • Hostgator problem: They advertise $4.95/mo but when I run the order wizard and try to order their minimum package (I already have a domain) it brings up $9.95 monthly fee. Where is that $4.95 hosting? Did they end the campain and forgot to update, or is it just false advertising (adding a bunch of hidden fees/taxes etc) It really doesn't matter for me but displaying somehting nearly twice of what they advertise raises suspicions.
  • With Hostgator I seem to get indexed on Google as soon as I register a domain, particularly once I enter my nameserver details. I usually get indexed even before I get a chance to put up a website. Fugure that one out!!!
  • Ok I asked them and they clarified the issue. Apparently you get that $4.95/mo rate with a 3 year subscription... Even then 8.95 is not bad for starter package.
  • I have hosted with GoDaddy and HostGator. GoDaddy has great cheap hosting if you need Windows based hosting, but most AM's won't need that. I love HostGator - their support is fantastic and they have a great deal. I have their Business Level account which costs me $14.95/month, and I can host unlimited sites. I currently have almost 40 domains hosted by them that I am building sites around. Highly recommended!

  • Why do so many people in this forum fall for bait like this?

LOOK AT THAT POST! A brand new member. One post. Their FIRST post. Asking a leading question that does what? Gets exposure to a "brand name".

This kind of thing happens over and over here. Legitimate questions go un-answered, but leading questions posted by "newbies" (who are most likely marketers for the brand name in question) get all kinds of replies.

  • my opinion about hostgator is:
there are too many affililiate using hostgator ,site building, blogging, file sharing...hostgator 's server IP already marked by google, i mean google know what 's from hostgator...if so many affiliate post their contents in hostgator, duplicated contents must be a serious issue, that means google will punish duplicated contents which are from same server and de-indexed or lower ranking...so better find another server at same time . i make an example:
squidoo and google knol and hubpages ,they are using totally different server ,though hubpage scan the duplicated contents ,but you actually can publish total same contents in different place as long as these contents are not hosted(of course ,squidoo ,google knol using different server) in same place...otherwise,you will get trouble...

anyway, find another host for good!

    • [1] reply
    • This does not make sense. A company that is growing simply buys more servers and bandwidth as needed. If they had a sudden burst of growth they could not supply servers and bandwidth for -- they could easily outsource the burden temporarily while they ramped up their own farm.

  • I've used HostGator for a number of years without major issue. There have been some problems that have cropped up from time to time, but that's to be expected in any technical environment, and their support has always been responsive in fixing whatever has been broken.
  • I have been using them a couple years now. By far the best host I have ever had. And some I used to pay A LOT more money for. Love the control panel, and Fantastico deluxe is awesome. I have only needed support a couple times, but they were great both times. I also run several scripts, and they haven't hassled me about that at all. Some of my ex hosts did.

  • I use Hostgator for some of my sites. Haven't had any problems in 3 years. Their customer support has always been great too.
  • Hostgator is excellent. Their support is available 24/7, a number of plans and generally speaking, unlimited bandwidth.
  • HostGator is good in Shared hosting and in Reseller hosting but in Dedicated server they are not good, I have a server with them and it goes down many times in a month.
  • HostGator got a fast and reliable support team. Their servers and software are always up to date. Their uptime is good and the speed of my websites hosted on them too.

The only thing you should consider is if you want to host your own email marketing software. I got my own autoresponder and CRM software running on Hostgator. But on shared accounts they impose a limit of 500 emails sent per hour.

When you have a list of 9000 or more, or wish to send more than 500 emails per hour (very handy when doing broadcasts) you have to get a dedicated hosting solution.

It's worth the money, but not everyone can afford it: dedicated servers starting at $174/month. Or go for an average-speed 'virtual private server' at $69.95 a month.

In that case you might want to consider using a service like Aweber... but I like to use my own systems.
  • My experience with hostgator support has been exceptional.

Had an issue two months ago when paypal blocked my account in one of their so called "random checks" and couldn't complete my subscription payments.

I was on holiday so didn't know about the issue. Once I found out I asked them for a few weeks to deal with paypal. They looked at my record, found I had had no problems in 4 years with them and they allowed me 4 more weeks to solve the paypal issue.

You can now understand why I will not be moving from them for a long time. Just superb customer support all round.

  • The best hosting I used. Pretty cheap also
  • I'm with hostgator. They have great support team.
  • I find Hostgator very good and I love the support. It is so easy if you have a problem to enter into a chat and I think we all want any problems solved ASAP. It is maned 24/7.
  • I like them, I just started using them last month. I had a problem with importing files and a quick/friendly phone call fixed it, well actually the guy I spoke to fixed it, instead of just walking me through and having me do it myself.
  • I have my hosting with godaddy and they are great for me and I also get help when I need it 24/7
  • I use Hostgator and they are the best. One of the best things that I like about them is that you can call them and get them on the phone if you need them.

  • Bluehost.com............so easy to use
  • I am using Hostgator services for almost 4 years and there support are TOP NOTCH! I highly recommended their web hosting services.
  • I would recommend HostGator. I had my 127 websites with 1and1.com for years, but recently switched to Hostgator.com and have been very pleased with their customer service.

If you are SERIOUS about internet marketing I would ALWAYS look for a hosting company with 24/7 PHONE SUPPORT.

Nothing is more frustrating than trying to get hosting problems fixed via E-MAIL... heck it might take a week... compared to Hostgator when you can just call them and say, hey I got this problem can you fix it.

When your LIVING depends on your websites being up and running 24/7 I'm very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

They are also Internet Marketing Friendly.

    Good Luck.
