Are Ezine solo ads as good as people say?

I've been debating for a long time on getting a directory of ezines membership. I've read quite a few good reviews on it, but I wanted to get other peoples input on here if they are a member to see if it is truly worth it. From what I understand you get extremely targeted traffic and you can get a bunch of leads and positive ROI.

I just cant stand the fact that he is charging 197 dollars just for a membership to get access just to a bunch of lists... Are there any members/former members on here that can let me know if its worth it or not and if they had any good results? I would much rather pay cpm then cpc, like udimi and facebook testimonials for solo ads.

I`m a member of DOE and I can tell you that the biggest disadvantage is that you can`t change the ads once you send them out. On bing or google, you can optimize the campaigns and change the things that are not working.
Solo ads on newsletters are a great way to advertise, the advantage is the highly targeted audience.
It comes down to personal preference.

I don't prefer it, but I know a few people are getting good results through it.

Most of my clients focus on seo-optimized, well researched, and more than 1000-word content in a niche. So, in a way, they don't need any kind of permission or advertisement. They rank well on search engines and get good, super-targeted traffic.

I believe it all depends on niche. If you are in a good niche, you don't need to depend on DOE.

I tryed Solo Ads and I dropped about $70 bucks and it go me about 45 subscribers.

    Did any convert? Nope!

From what I've been told, solo ads are a waist of money because you have to spend thousands of dollars to collect enough data.

So personally, I'd stay away from them and focus on adding value instead of trying to buy your customer loyalty.
