    I think you should use the "Genesis" Theme with a lot of features. Especially, it's really friendly with the Search Engine Optimization.

    When I have to go with a free theme, I always opt for one of the Site Origin themes, mainly North. Use it with the Site Origin PageBuilder. If I'm going with premium I always look at Divi by Elegant Themes.

    Choosing a WP themes, you have to like the look and feel, but that can always be modified through CSS anyway. Functionality is also important. But 3 things that are very important is if it is coded properly, if it bogs down your site and if it is updated frequently and properly.

    This is why I recommend GeneratePress free version. https://wordpress.org/themes/generatepress/ It's lightweight (as well as the premium version) so it doesn't slow your site down like most other themes these days do. It's also updated frequently.

    Despite what theme you use, always make a child theme! My favorite Child Theme plugin is https://wordpress.org/plugins/child-theme-configurator/
