arpReach Autoresponder - Anyone Have Any Success With It???

I'm really considering buying another self-hosted autoresponder because I wasn't satisfied with Sendy.co since it is too limited in features (lacks features that I need). So I was thinking about trying arpReach.com even though they cost a bit more (at least $197 standard package).

Has anyone tried them & what are your honest thoughts on this autoresponder? Would appreciate the reviews.

    I think you'll like it

Once you've got arpreach installed remember that arpReach is powerful and just because you can send out 60K emails per hour doesn't mean you should

Warm up your server IP following best practice guidelines for the receiving company (Gmail = < 500 a day) and you'll make headway.

In the email systems section, look at your Advanced tab under 'Options' and use your 'Delay between each email' so you don't upset the natives. I find 2000 (1 email every 2 seconds) is a good number to start with. You can reduce it as you build up more trust with Gmail and outlook etc.

If you want to do clever things once you've got to grips with the basics raise a support ticket to ask. The team are in there 3 or 4 times every weekday and they pass on 'interesting' queries to me.

I think you'll find that arpReach will do nicely

      Hey Kevin,

When trying to send out email from my new web hosting (namecheap), I keep getting the following error messages:

When I try to send from my Local SendMail:
"The test email could not be sent"

      "ERROR_EMAIL_SEND-Could not execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail"
      ____________________________________

And when I try to send from my Amazon SES SMTP:
"The test email could not be sent"

      "ERROR_EMAIL_SEND-SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting"
      ____________________________________

My webhosting provider (NameCheap) has definitely opened ports 465 & 587 for sending, but it's still not connecting to either my "SendMail" or "Amazon SES SMTP" options. What would cause this?

Here's what my Amazon SMTP settings look like:

Since you run ArpReach, I figure that you could help me get this issue resolved. Thanks Kevin.

Also Kevin, the Amazon SES SMTP server doesn't connect as well. Any idea with how to fix this? Contact me & I'll finish filling you in with the details. Just reply here.

Sorry about not replying here sooner. As a follow up, it looks like you got everything resolved.

The best place to ask for help is the support desk at Support : Help Desk which is where I would ask anyone who has issues go first, or the FB group. It is simply not possible to handle support in a timely manner elsewhere.

That said, a quick search of the know solutions at our support desk brings up this solution for your sendmail error:
    ERROR_EMAIL_SEND-Could not execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail : Help Desk
In short it is not an arpreach issue but a server related issue common with cheap hosting solutions who do not configure their servers by default to use sendmail, generally on the grounds of security.

Likewise your SES issue is also answered in our solutions pages:
    ERROR_EMAIL_SEND-SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting : Help Desk
Again this is a server config issue and not an arpReach issue.

Okay, thanks Kevin. Yeah, I got the issue resolved. It was on my hostings side. They had the ports blocked, but it appears to be working now. Thanks again.

My only honest criticism so far about the software is that there is no option for tracking the SPAM complaints from each recipient. Say that I'm using Amazon SES SMTP, you could integrate their SPAM complaints into the software or have it collect the data from Amazon.

Also, the other thing is the same as what most people have already been criticizing, you guys are a bit SLOW with responding to important technical questions & are vague with answers many times.

Other than that, the software has A LOT of potential. I love how we can DUPLICATE autoresponders and quickly re-arrange the order with ease. That drag n drop or select the number to set the order of each follow up are BRILLIANT features! Thanks again.

    Catching up again

Good to know that you got the hosting issue resolved once the ports were opened.

The most current arpReach 1.7.x release has improved Amazon SES complaint handling. One of our power users helped us get that working.

You bring up a good point about how we don't handle technical questions. The *why* behind that is there are too many server configurations for the team to give any advice. The reason is that many users don't have a dedicated server and if we give advice to fix arpReach and it breaks something else, users in the past expected us to fix poorly coded software that wasn't ours.

That said I'd like to ask a question:

If we were to offer an additional set-up and server config for an additional fee (essentially an upsell), would that be of interest?

And if it was of interest what do you think would be a fair cost?

Thanks again and yeah ... the potential that arpReach gives any business owner is way up there
