I have sites at BargainVault, and they've performed great for the last 3 years. They have all the features, and you can host a domain for $1/month.

    hello guys,

i don't know if you ever have desperated about hosting services, but i was for a few times.. almost when you build your new websites, do all the seo, backlinks etc jobs to drive traffic into your websites and then your hosting service doesn't work well anymore because your sites are progressing (getting more and more contents and pages)... so what serves all the best SEO if your websites are not accessible ?? Nada.

it's not easy to find a "good" hosting service.. i learned now that i should ask first what their limitations are and not what they pretend to have.

    examples:

    - mysql no limitations of disk space (1and1 limited at 100mb nowadays, they are really still living in the last century....)
    - no limitations in files number (no matter the disk space), like hostgator limites 50'000 files (last that i know) per account (no matter how many sites you have installed on it)
    - php memory at least 64mb and more (1and1 fix forever at 40mb... )
    - smooth upgrade to vps or dedicated server available (when your websites pay well and getting huge traffic)
    etc.
    - monitoring alert - means that they kill the processes if too many (in relation to your hosting package limits), but not kill your website (i had bad experiences with hostupon (i had vps accounts), they don't have script that limits queries per account, and they don't provide a tool to see where is your limit, so they just shut your account down when you passover. It's like moving blind around until you fell into a black hole...)

.... i am happy with hostingzoom... but still looking for good ones, since i don't want to put all my eggs in a unique basket...

... just a few notices for newbies who want to build websites to make their living...

i am checking the ones you mentioned, thanks.

    Tim

I LOVE bluehost! i have hostgator as well but I just think that bluehost is the best hosting service i have ever had. great service, reliability. easier to use also imo.

I'll tell you who NOT to use - Supergreen or Justhost - bunch of turkeys.

I'm very pleased with Hostgator after using Godaddy. I keep domain portfolio with Godaddy and all hosting with Hostgator.

Depends what you're looking for in a host. I've used HostGator and GoDaddy. I eventually moved to IX Webhosting because their support is incredible.

I started learning PHP, CGI, Javascript, and other scripting languages...but I was a hack at first. I got on their live chat when something wasn't working and they'd pinpoint my errors and get me up and running quickly. It was like getting live technical support.

I'm still very impressed with their support.

There are several other hosting companies that can provide reliable web hosting, apart from hostgator, like bluehost, mediatemple, lunarpages.

As someone above mentioned, WpWebhost is a very good host for wordpress blog hosting with its packages well suited to the needs of a normal blogger. Bluehost and mediatemple are high level and very reliable hosts with best reviews about them, and very few complaints regarding the server outage, customer support etc.

Lunarpages is great. They're not the cheapest but they have great tech support and customer service from Americans who answer the phone immediately.

I've only ever used Bluehost, I like that I can actually call them up and they know what they're doing.

Pretty reliable, and VERY easy to use.
