Drupal or Joomla?

HI Will, I only have experience with Joomla. It might be just me, but it wasn't so funny.

Two years ago, I set up a private newsletter in the IM niche, and I got a decent amount of subscribers.

I started with a plain html site, and then, I started to learn about Joomla, I got a template (one of my friends even became a Joomla expert)... I change the membership to Joomla, added content, and everything was fine (I was receiving emails from members asking me how I created the site all the time).

Everything was going well... until the site completely stopped to work. Yup!

Today, I use simple html pages or wordpress. I remember a thread where some people had similar experience with Joomla (just perform a search). If I remember, I was running version 1.5.

I also have a wordpress horror story (but it was 50% my fault).

The bottom line is that when the project is serious, it's better to get more robust and secure solution IMHO.

If you are serious about future expansion and functionality, then Drupal is something you or someone in your team should get to know and use.

Hands down the best open source CMS on the planet.

It even kicks wordpress's butt for small projects, but most folks can't be bothered to put 20 hours or so into learning the basics of drupal.
