Hello fellow friends.

This is my honest review about AddNewFollowers.com. I got to know this service from WSO and the offer of $27 lifetime membership is really attractive. The features to add unlimited accounts and the ability to add 500 new friends per day based on our own keyword is amazing. Other service out there charge monthly fee of around $20 plus per month for this.

For those reasons I signed up the package and found that the user interface is quite easy to navigate. I am a kind of satisfied. I added 20 twitter accounts with some of them already have over 5000 followers.

But today when I woke up, 8 out of 20 accounts have been used without my permission to tweet and promote their website. The tweet is:

" Start off the new year with THOUSANDS of NEW followers. Sign up FREE at Get More Followers, Twitter Software, Twitter Bot. Build a Powerful Network of Followers - AddNewFollowers.com "

(if you go to the link above, you will know it will redirect to their website)

This really let me down. Then I went to my admin site to check at the 'Status Update' tab, and surprisingly the "Admin Tweets 2/day" feature is ticked for 5 of my Twitter accounts. I had just double checked yesterday that all my 20 Twitter accounts have unticked the "Admin Tweets 2/day" feature.

What made me more surprised, 3 of my twitter accounts showed the "Admin Tweets 2/day" feature unticked, but admin still tweet using the twitter accounts to promote for their own good.

Tweeting about something that out of my niche really give bad reputation to my followers. Well, honestly, to me this is unethical using customer's accounts to promote for their own good.

Beside this problem, the feature has several minor bugs which I don't really mind. But several of my emails remained unreplied for several days.

I would like to seek opinions from fellow warriors. Is it safe to give our Twitter passwords to third party to add new followers for us? There is also no option to change the password given for my AddNewFollowers account. Only the admin can change the password for us. Now I am afraid he can access all my twitter password. Should I change the password now?

Should I surrendor this and asked for refund? I really hope I can but the payment was made using Google Checkout (which I don't think we can ask for refund?) since that's the only choice. Payment by paypal is not accepted. Any opinion on this?

I believe there are some other warriors that also bought this service, can you also share if they have ever used your account to tweet?

Thanks.

Arie

Wow - what a story. Are you sure you didn't agree to these promos (fine print in their terms and conditions?) The Tweet seems pretty harmless, at least it's about Twitter - but if you have a site talking about nano-technology or something else of a serious nature, then I can see how it would be embarrassing.

I'd be interested in hearing any other opinions about this product. Hope you get some responses from others familiar with the product.

      Thanks for your response friend.

For paid subscriber, there is an option to disable the Admin Tweet which I have done. But they don't work 100%. Out of 20, 8 of them still tweets about their website. Yes it is harmless, but tweeting 2 times per day about their website if unrelated to our niche will give bad reputation.

I believe there are a few others experiencing the same problem. I saw somebody complaint about this issue several weeks ago.

        Now I know the reason.

No wonder no reply to customer support. The seller has sold the site at Flippa below and leave the customers in the middle of nowhere.

That bites. Can you change your login/password on all your twitter sites to stop the ads?

Thank God, I managed to change all my Twitter accounts password. All are safe now. Just wasted my $27. Thats the reason he used Google Checkout instead of paypal. No refund can be done.

I think the first owner of the site is a warrior. He should come here and explain what is going on.

Well, for my 2 cents worth, I think they have a darn cheek using a client's passwords for their own gain. It is also probably illegal, as is all pirating!
              Thank you for the warning.

  • Auto-posting promotional updates or ads to your account by a 3rd party service/app using the Twitter API on your behalf (worse still, against your preferences) is against Twitter's terms of service. This actually violates the Twitter developer API agreement and could get them blacklisted if Twitter receives spam/abuse complaints either from you (application users) or from your readers (followers).

  • That doesn't matter. If the current owner is continuing to misuse member accounts for their own ads, they are still in breach of the developer API agreement.

I just had two weak promo posts to my Twitter --> Facebook account about Walmart and Apple iPad testers wanted. I did not post them and have no idea who got that information. It was done from the Twitter API but I have no idea how that happened. Scanning my system now and just wondering.

    What a hassle!

  • Login to your Twitter account.

Go to Settings->Connections tab and check what applications have access to your account via the API. If you don't recognize/remember/like any of those apps, you can revoke their access to your account.

  • Tools and services tweeting their own content to their user's Twitter account is against Twitter's updated TOS. When using a tool or a service, make sure that they do not collect your Twitter username/password within their own application.
