Hi,

I need your feedback here. I've recently watched the presentation of a new video marketing product called Easy Video Player created by Josh Bartlett.

The tool is really cool in my opinion. However, it's the opinion of a newbie. I'd appreciate your more experienced opinion about such a tool. I would like to use it and market it myself.

According the introductory video you can
- embed opt-in forms directly in you video easily
- embed pay now buttons
- attach more powerful tracking than commonly offered
- easy integration with Amazon video hosting, and more

Your replies are very welcome.

Search for EasyVideoPlayer.com or joshbartlettblog.com.

Sincerely
Estani

      Thanks Pearson.

      Great to have you here.

What I want is a honest opinion of other marketers more skilled in video marketing, not a bunch of nonsense.

    Hi Estani,

I have been fortunate to have had access to Easy Video Player for the past month or so and can honestly say it's a great piece of software.

Video marketing popularity is only going to increase and with EVP you can take your marketing to the next level.

EVP is easy to install - you need some web hosting and a domain name and it's no more difficult to get up and running than Wordpress. You should be ready to go in about 10 minutes.

The EVP dashboard is clean and intuitive, it's easy to upload videos to your Amazon account and customize them with your opt in forms, payment buttons or ad banners.

EVP is going to be a staple part of my marketing arsenal in 2010 and I'll use it on my blog and for all my sales and squeeze pages.

If you are serious about video marketing then you should strongly consider using it.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey Estani,

Thank you for the interest in Easy Video Player.

We did a WSO for this product during our test launch a while back.

It is always best to let others do the talking about your product so please feel free to go to the WSO thread (its still up) and have a read through the huge amount of positive feedback it generated from fellow Warriors who managed to get their hands on it..

Thanks again for the interest and I hope to see you as a user on the 12th Jan!

      Thank you David and Josh,

Firstly I want to congratulate you Josh. I'm very impressed with what you've created and your entrepreneurial talent. I'm now one of your followers.

I'll read the comments promptly . I've tried to find them before but without success, so thank you for the link.

It will make easier for me now to understand and explain what this is about.

      Best success

Josh, does easy video player include security for Amazon S3 (preventing spammed usage of your bandwidth?)

Also, not sure why Amazon S3 is an issue. You use the S3 plugin for firefox and you're in business within seconds; however, that wouldn't be the reason I'd get the player. The linkable buttons / opt-in is my plus - but I want to know about the download protection for Amazon before I buy.

      Please reply.

Also, can we use this for clients (a biggie) or do we need to buy a license for non-personal sites?

Lastly - can I remove the watermark at the beginning of play and during the full-screen?

And to Scott, Yes EVP does have security which will lock videos to only the domains you specify.

I understand that the watermark will be removable in a later version of EVP.

I also asked about usage for clients. I got this reply:

You can only use one copy of EVP on sites that you own. If you want to purchase a developer license - in that you want to be able to embed videos on client sites that you make but do not actually own, either they need to purchase their own copy or you can contact Josh directly for a quote. Please provide him with information on what it is that you want to do and he will come up with the best way for you.

My advice would be to get each client to purchase their own copy through your affiliate link so that you can earn commission through their purchases. You can go here to get your own affiliate link: EasyVideoPlayer Affiliate Sign Up

You can use one installation of EVP, however, on multiple sites that you own, yes. I would advise that you do, so that you only have one site to upgrade in future! You can use EVP's Folder feature to organise your videos by each other site that you own
Thanks a lot for answering those. Buying a $120+ license per client is a dealbuster for me (as well as a watermarked player,) and I would assume a lot of video service providers would have similar issue. For the cost of 5 clients, I could have my own made, lol (and I might.)

          Cheers,

          Scott

This is the third day without any answer or even an acknowledgement of the problem from the easy video player support and I am running out of patience rapidly now. I don't want to do this but I might just have to go for a refund request if I don't hear anything by the end of today. Such a big shame as this software looks like it will be the business, if only the support was in existance... Shame!

I have to say that I love Easy Video Player, so much so I became an affiliate!

Anyway I have been designing websites for many years and this tool is an absolute must if you want to use Video in your marketing. Ignore for a moment the awesome nature of being able to add optin codes and other html to your video the very fact that it enables you to host your videos on Amazon servers within seconds rather than the long winded way in which we had to do it before is fantastic.

The ability to add in opt in forms and paypal buttons or just forward the webpage to a different site when the video has finished playing makes this product outstanding.

I think the only thing that would improve it for me is if it enabled me to put an optin code or a sales button into the middle of the video.

As David mentioned earlier it is very intuitive.

There is absolutely no doubt that video marketing is increasingly the future of internet marketing. Whilst I find some sales videos outrageous the statistics continuously show that videos improve optin rathes, sales conversions and improve rapport with the customer.

I cant wait to see how Easy Video Player will continue to evolve, I understand that there is talk of being able to use it to submit your videos to other sites in a coming version which will be a great add on.

Josh is definitely to be congratulated on a great product with fast customer support.

Hope that wasn't too 'promotiony' Pearson!?

I also purchased EVP about a month ago. I've only used it a few times since I've been busy over the holidays but I'm very happy with it so far.

I've put a few videos up and was amazed how quick and easy it was compared with the "manual" way. I also can't want to see how it evolves to help with marketing even more. Thanks to it I plan to promote with video much more this year.

        Not any more.

        This thing is sick!

Sick enough that a non-techy like me can now use Amazon S3 with easy. Thank you Josh.

      Hi,

      Try Josh Anderson's http://TriggerPlayers.com
(it allows you to display HTML at any point of the video)

(I'm also wondering when Easy Video Player will allow
us to show embedded code at points other than
at the end of the video.)

Can you find out whether EVP will be able to make everything in the video clickable like this e-commerce video group is doing. Maybe EVP will quality to join this consortium and add this "clickable video" feature - Vendors and Agencies are not invited to join whatever that means. They want online video marketers and leaders using video for e-commerce or retail marketing.

        Hey guys,

Thank you all for commenting and your time in this post.

I wanted to update you all on a few things and confirm a few points of confusion.

As I have said before, our support team was overwhelmed with the success of Easy Video Player.

During launch we had thousands of new customers within 24hrs. Things DID get a bit crazy, we were overwhelmed, we did have delays getting back to everyone who contacted us.

Everyone on this forum knows that sometimes, this happens, especially with a mega successful launch like Easy Video Player.

Since then however I have worked tirelessly on doing two things.

        1) Working on our support and training systems. We have changed to a completely new support desk, tripled the size of our support staff, created countless support videos and documentation, set in place specific tracking and targets for all our support staff to ensure all emails and tickets are replied to within 24hrs. (We have a 99%+ success rate with this)

        2) Improving the product. We have made it compatible with every different combination of server and software we have come across and anyone who has had problems, we have stepped in and installed it for them and sorted the issues out. (If you have problems, simply email us at support@easyvideoplayer.com and ask us to sort out the issue and we will, if you received any delays in the past, I am truly sorry, I have dedicated all my time to making sure everyone gets exceptional customer service)

We also have a big number of completely free upgrades just around the corner:

        *live previews of your player
*multiple video upload at one time
*windows and mac based EASY installers/upgrade (no cpanel/dbases/ftp etc)
*no less than 5 brand new VERY cool marketing features to add to the list.
        *improved user interface

to name just a few things! I am personally proud of the lengths we are going to so that we dont just rest but continually improve our product for existing customers.
(I cant go into specifics yet on the features, just rest assured they are COOL!)

Now, as for refunds etc.. We run our system through ClickBank and unfortunately are at the mercy of their system. It CAN take days for them to actually process the refund even after we ask them. We do process every request within 24hrs of receiving it.

Unfortunately, ClickBank have messed up sometimes, taken longer than they should, refunded the wrong transaction etc but these cases are few and far between.

Sometimes we have messed up, in all honesty, 1 in every 200 or so tickets can get lost or mixed up. I have done EVERYTHING I can to make sure this does not happen, but the element of human error is always there, nothing is 100% perfect.

It is worth making a public note that you can easily go to the support tab in the members area and submit a refund request/cancellation request or support ticket. If you submit a cancellation or refund request, this is sent over to ClickBank automatically so you WILL see this actioned. If it is a support ticket, our team will be in touch!

I am sorry I dont have time to personally reply to every single person who emails me but realistically, I get over 200 emails every single day about all sorts of things and even though I spend hours replying to people, I can only reply to so many. That is why I have a dedicated support team in place that I have invested so heavily on during the last few months.

Unfortunately, anyone with a gripe to tell is EXTREMELY vocal and many of the people who say "EVP is the best product I have purchased for my business ever" or "Josh Bartlett's support team is world class and always go out of their way" (Real quotes) are written off as affiliates with something to gain from the praise.

its a no win situation sometimes but I understand that part of the business, its the nature of the beast. So, I focus on improving our systems and software every single day.

Lets face it, I could of used the money EVP has made us elsewhere, but alot of it has gone into supporting our users and improving the product for existing users. It is my main priority and I put my money where my mouth is.

I am not happy with just a great product that had a big launch. I want to keep tirelessly making sure it gets better and better and our customers are more and more happy.

Anyone who had problems with refunds through Paypal, this was because I learnt the hard way about what you hear very regularly on these forums. Paypal locked our account no less than 5 times over the two months directly after our launch. We had no way to access these funds and it did, in all honesty, cause us a nightmare.

Lesson learnt, dont use Paypal for this scale of launch again. (There are arguments for and against using Paypal but I am not here to discuss that now, thats a different conversation)

We kept in contact and have refunded everyone on our waiting list, many of who decided not to refund after talking to our support staff and getting a few answers to questions they had at the time.

If you have ANY issues at all, please do contact our support team. Try it, you will see we respond quickly, professionally and are some of the most helpful people in IM. (I set my entire team targets and spend a great deal of time working with them)

Lastly, thank you to all of you who have taken the time to tell me that EVP has changed your business/made you lots of money/improved conversions or any of the other great feedback. We get a huge amount of emails saying its the best investment they have made in internet marketing, and while its great to see alot of the guru's now using my product, hearing those comments in my email is the thing I am most proud of.

Thank you all for being my customer and investing in EVP.

We have big plans for the future and I like to think of you as part of the EVP family, we haven't forgotten you but instead have been working HARD behind the scenes to give you some VERY cool features in our upcoming update. (There will be NO charge for existing members)

I want to leave you all with the below thought:

Many people say EVP is the best investment they have ever made in IM. Many people say their return on the investment is huge. My goal with EVP was to make video more simple and more powerful for EVERYONE who wanted to use it, we have alot of things coming that will deliver even further on that promise but we have already provided that to our users.

Sure, it hasnt been without its issues. (delays in ticket replies in the early days etc) But,

it isnt whether you fall or not that marks you as a person, its how you get back up again and since our launch, investing thousands of dollars into making the software and support better and better for our members and personally taking as much time as I can to speak to my customers shows our dedication to not only our customers but providing the very best value product in the internet marketing field.

Thank you all and keep you eyes peeled for the exciting updates. Some of these new features will change how you use video all over again. (I cant give specifics right now, but I KNOW you will love them!)

        Speak to you all soon!

I use it working with Mike Filsaime. He uses various sources for videos and EVP is one.

I absolutely love how easy it is to use. I have used it for audio recordings as well as videos - nice looking players, a handful of color variations, etc.

Makes it a snap to use with S3. Although I am having a problem trying to use the Amazon Cloud Front option - haven't figured out why yet.

This is something I highly recommend to anyone who wants to use video.

If you go to Easy Video Player Review Bonus which is my affiliate site and scroll down past all the bonus bit there is a video hosted on Amazon which has an opt in form at the end. You should be able to scroll to the end of the video.

It really is great software. I am really excited about the possibilities for this in 2010.

Thanks Justin for posting a link to an example using an opt-in. To me thats the best demonstration of this product I've seen. I don't know why marketers have such a problem with posting links to examples of what their products can do. IMO on this product some live examples would probably boost sales if people could see it in action.

No worries. I am working on another one which will have a sales button built into the video.

As a current user of ezs3 I was intrigued enough by easy video player to buy it as it ticks pretty much all the boxes for me. It looks pretty powerful judging by the tutorials but unfortunately for me it won't let me upload videos at all.. A support ticket is in and I hope they can answer.

EZS3 is a great service but its a monthly charge and if easy video player can do everything then that has to be good! I just need to sort out why videos are not uploading.

I had no experience with Amazon S3 And it looked intimidating. Once I purchased Easy Video Player it became painfully obvious that I had been missing out on a great service. EVP's dashboard & video Stats made Amazon S3 a snap. Mr. Crooks check to make sure your Amazon S3 bucket key code is correct. I had no problems with my videos uploading once I set my Amazon S3 account up.

Yeah thanks, I have done all that.. Twice I suspect it is some obscure server setup issue but I am waiting for support to see if they can shed some light. Like I say though I hope it works for me because it looks really powerful.

The only other thing I haven't seen reference to is whether there is a way of securing videos like on EZS3. Basically you associate a domain with a video and if someone finds your video on S3 they cant access it from any other domain. This is a great function with EZS3 and I just hope Easy Video Player can provide the same.

Nice cadout. You should probably embed the optin form direct to the video rather than taking them to a blank page. Also I noticed you had misspelt unleash.

No idea why it wouldnt work for you Steve. I presume you tried uploading straight to your website. Could be a hosting company issue although I suspect it is unlilkely. Can't remember whether there were any odd ioncube or php requirements for the software. Anyway I found the support were pretty good at getting back to me pre launch. Hope the launch process hasnt slowed them down too much!

Addendum Yes you can secure videos within EVP. Its one of the settings after you upload the video which annoyingly you can't do.

Thanks for checking out my video. Didn't realize I had a typo. How can I add it to the video did I miss a checkbox in the admin area?
Maybe we can get Josh to add spellchecker to the software since it does everything else.

Remarkable piece of software. One of the few things I've bought that is worth every penny, or even more so.

Often you experience remorse early on, like when you try to follow the installation instructions. EVP however went flawlessly. I was fearful of the technical difficulties of both S3 and integrating video into my Wordpress site. If I can do it anyone can do it - EVP videos and installation instructions were flawless: from S3 account creation to setting up the SQL database. Got EVP up and running in under 30 minutes - and it worked.

The ability to click on the video instead of some embedded video text that the viewer must write down and type into their browser was worth the price of EVP alone. This thing is so feature rich - different player skins, button configurations, video exist options and linking - that I can't even list them all. It automatically will redirect the viewer to a landing page when the video completes or leave you your site. It simply does everything I could conceive of doing - without the downside I've hated about video prior - YouTube ads, YouTube branding, redirection to YouTube or other sites that aren't mine, technical difficulties, high bandwidth use of my host, and low conversion because of people not being willing to open another browser and type the url in the video clip.

For me the biggest thing is that the geek factor is removed. I can use video on my site the way I want to. I can do this reliably and at a low cost using S3. All without the tech ability so many other people have.

I haven't generated enough traffic to use the reporting capabilities yet. They are the cherry on top - knowing which videos are being watched or abandoned, knowing where that traffic is coming from, etc, is fantastic. Managing all of my sites and videos within one EVP installation also reduces my workload.

Bottom line: works flawlessly, allows technically challenged to use video cheaply, support has been great. I lost my download link but got a response in under a day.

Many thanks for this excellent tool...Russ

Okay, this is starting to drive me slightly insane! I have tried absolutely everything now, I have even updated all my server software and yet I still can't get EVP to upload a video.. I just click that button and nothing happens it just sits there.

I have wasted a lot of time which I don't have in abundance at the moment trying to get it going on two different servers now. Without wanting to blow my own trumpet, I am pretty good with setting up scripts like these. I have a diploma in computing and also one in information technology but I just can't get EVP to work on my servers!

I have to go to bed now.. tired..

Just a quick update on my installation problems.. First of all a massive thanks to Justin for all his efforts in trying to help and the outcome seems to be that the download files are either different or out of date for some new customers like me. Whereas the pre-release software seems to be working well for you guys.

I have seen the power of what this software will do which is why I am persevering with it. Normally by now I would have given up but this software looks well worth waiting for support to sort out the issues.

However, if I do have a complaint, the support has not been very forethcoming yet. If they are looking for a good support guy then my vote goes for Justinw.. In fact if any of you are wavering over buying Easy video player then I suggest you go to Justin's signature link first.

Hi Pearson, yes I can do the same but it is like putting a Fiat engine into a Ferrari. I need to get it working with Amazon S3. I just need support to get back to me why the files in the member download area are version 1.01 and yet the working version seems to be 1.11.. It's all a bit frustrating and bizarre..

Yes, the silence from support on this issue is becoming deafening.. I have only got so much patience. It would be nice if they could at the very least just acknowledge us and say something like "sorry guys, we are working on it". However, to not hear anything about this for nearly 2 days now is just not good.

I've got the same problem; apperently I bought EVP with an outdated, unworkable version. It simply will not download. I submitted a ticket several days ago and have heard nothing.

Hmm, because of the strong testimonials in this forum, I'll wait a bit longer. But to blow off some steam: why would anyone launch an outdated, unworkable version of their product in the first place?! I presume they are working on solving this issue, but a little communication from them in the meantime would be appreciated. <end of rant>

    Guys, please be patient.

Josh just had a BIG launch and is surely INUNDATED with support requests/etc.

My experience with with their support has been exceptional. They are surely overwhelmed at the moment but I can say with certainty that THEY CARE.

I know it sucks to buy something and not be able to use it immediately...

It sucks even worse to know you have customers in that predicament and be working your butt off to try and get everyone squared away with a very finite amount of time/manpower/resources.

My prediction is that Steve becomes a raving fan in a very short period of time once they get him squared away - and if his experience is like mine, they will.

Brian - that was nice of you to post and I'm sorry for the upcoming critical comment. As a long time salesperson who deals with customers every day your comment was like fuel on a fire - ultimately unhelpful and counterproductive. I can offer my customers excuses all day long, at the end however I have to fall on my sword and make things right if I want to keep the customer.

There is simply no excuse not to put out an email to the buyers of this program - an auto-responder or bulk email, 15 minutes top. I'm flabbergasted at the implication that we should feel sorry for EVP because "its worse letting your customers down." Tell you what send me $127 for which you won't get anything and I promise to feel worse than you. Reminds me of a scene in the Sopranos when Tony was telling his wife about the suicide attempt of his mistress. Carmella said "I can't believe you're trying to make me feel guilty about not being sympathetic about your cheating."

In sales we have a saying, "one oh s**t wipes out a thousand atta boys." Frankly I love the product so much that I'm loathe to give up or change. That said, I like Steve and many others only have so much patience.

Ok, rant over. Don't want to start a flame war. Needed my site up by the weekend and since that won't happen will have to find another product.

      Steve,

I'm in the same boat as you. Got it installed and nothing is happening when I click upload this file.

I don't know any thing about how the internet works but I did get the following error message at the bottom on IE.

      Line:62
      Char: 4
Error: 'getElement(...)' is null or not an object
      Code: 0
URL: Then the URL that is trying to access evp/account/files_create.php

I don't know what this means or if its even useful to figure out whats wrong.

I've tried Firefox, IE and Safari on mac and pc both don't work.

My aws account is being accessed by EVP.

I'm disappointed that its been three days and not a peep from them. I'm still optimistic that this will be resolved shortly.

Yeah, that's exactly the error I am getting. I have even tried working through the code to see if I can fix it. I have a hunch that the Amazon S3 keys are not being passed to the script from the database. I don't really have time to work through the code though and to be honest I have just about had enough of thinking about this now. I might just stick with what I had before, at least it worked.

    Hey Russ,

I would like to comment on something you said: "1)insure the product works"

The product does work, and since the product is a installable software (script)
that sits on your servers its really hard to make sure it works for EVERYONE
    under EVERY server setup condition.

So the product has been tested, and updated from the first set of sales from
    the WSO.

Out of 500 customers, theres gonna be 20 or more customers that have
outdated servers settings, or don't support certain php libraries that
    the script needs to run.

I am sure Josh will be back to help you once things get a little less crazy.

I am glad that he didn't do any ioncube stuff! I hate ioncube, haha.

Has anybody gotten the current version to work once they ftp their video to the "files" folder? I get "stream not found" ... my (.mov) file shows up in the evp dashboard, but some reason it can't be retrieved :-(
For some reason it also gives me "error in accout/settings" on line 56-- which (to my non-coder eyes) looks like it has to do with Cloud front

A quick update. I still have not heard anything from support or the numerous emails and pm's I have sent but there is a new update in the downloads section.

That's the good news but the bad news is that I am still getting the same problems with uploading videos with this update. Interestingly, the error message when you look at the error console shows the code is different with the error.

I suppose it shows they are working on something I guess.. I hope.. Who knows?

Hmm. If anyone has bought this either through my link or somebody elses I am happy to upload videos for you to my amazon server as a temporary measure until this is sorted out. Will charge you amazon costs for your video views it its more than $5. If it isnt I will pay it as my goodwill gesture!

Its such a great tool that I am saddened that support is not keeping up with the issues. Anyway am sure they will get to grips with it soon even if it means reverting to an earlier version.

Cerrtainly prior to launch I found the support team to be helpful and fast.

            Hi Everyone,

Let me start by first saying I am truly personally sorry to hear about ANYONE having problems with EVP..

And, even more sorry to hear that some people have had to wait for a reply to their problem.

Trust me, I KNOW that when you spend money on a product you want it to work and to get support if it doesnt.

Anyone who has ever dealt with me in the past knows that I really do care about customer service, I spend a huge deal of time dealing with it and although I have a support team in place, I usually reply to people myself too, just to follow up, whenever I can.

That being said, although I havent announced it anywhere, (no time yet) the Easy Video Player launch was absolutely huge.. We had well over 2000 users within 5 days!

We have been swamped with emails, support tickets and general questions about all sorts of things.

We spent a HUGE deal of time testing this product and right from day one I worked hard to make a very high quality product for people rather than just another IM product.

And as the huge amount of WSO buyers we had back when it was a WSO, will confirm, we work hard to make a quality product with great support (read the various feedbacks on the WSO thread about having some of the best support ever etc.. they are still there)

            BUT..

We unfortunately have encountered two specific bugs, which have effected specific people (not everyone because it depends on different variables.. Like Dylan said) and we have literally worked flat out to get to the bottom and fix these issues as quickly as possible..

We have been working through all emails and support as quickly as we can and getting back to everyone at the same time as rapidly growing our support desk in a matter of days, to handle the HUGE demand in such a short space of time..

Remember, it is still just a matter of days since we launched!

I am set to send an email out today explaining the bugs and announcing the fix to every EVP user..

I wanted to wait until I had something concrete before I sent a mass mail out to all the EVP users. (To avoid any confusion) We have now fixed all the issues, tested thoroughly and I am at a point where I can announce this to everyone. (And we did that within a matter of days)

I understand this is frustrating for those of you who have had to wait for replies but we have been getting back to 99% of people as quickly as possible.

As for the comments about releasing an untested product etc..
With all due respect I would ask anyone saying anything like that to do your research first.
You can see the sort of feedback the WSO had here, some of the best you will find, from fellow Warrior members both about our support, dedication and the product itself. We would NEVER release an untested or unfinished product..

But, as you all know, unfortunately, when you grow so quickly in user base from a low amount of users up into the thousands of users within DAYS, all trying to access the product at the same time, all using different configurations of servers, hosting etc.. you will ALWAYS find some problems you simply cannot find before you launch.. (and obviously a sharp increase in support demand, especially with any software product)

You cant find EVERY eventuality before launch, just do your damn hardest to make something quality which has 99.9% of kinks ironed out for as many people as possible. (Which is what we did)

Finally, I think anyone who speaks to me knows I am a genuine honest person who actually cares a BIG deal about support and caring for my customers, I can assure every single one of you, I have been working literally around the clock without sleep with all of my team to ensure you are all looked after.

Please keep an eye out for the email update which will go out to everyone shortly now that we have got a firm announcement to make.

(And please bear in mind the sad fact that unfortunately for every person who has had an issue or waited longer than we all would of liked for a reply, there are 20 more who have not had an issue.. but wont take the time to post here because they are busy using EVP)

Thank you all for considering and buying my product.

My promise to you, is to provide you with the best support we can and that includes alot of planned free upgrades throughout 2010.

I genuinely care about my customers more than most people out there.

So please just bear with us over launch week mayhem if we are a little slow getting back to you. We DO care and these issues which effected a number of people have now already been fixed!

And, dont take my word for it, look at earlier in this thread for the great feedback and in our original WSO thread to see the sort of support and product quality we are committed to providing.

            Thank you all,

            Josh

thriftgirl62 - They are using "tabloid advertising" techniques to grab attention and get sales for other products off of the success of Easy Video Player.

I wont bother giving a review of those other two products.. I would suggest going through both sites and looking at the features and quality of the program and seeing what people have said about Easy Video Player who have used it and basing your decision on that. Both of those products dont even do half of what Easy Video Player can do, and they dont provide some of the most powerful features that made Easy Video Player get noticed.

Also, Easy Video Player is a ONE time fee, we give a months free trial to the IMMasterMind club which gives internet marketing training and video marketing training, you can cancel this at any time, your software is yours for life for the one time fee.

I wasn't expecting you to review competitors products and still stay unbiased - nobody can do that. The problem is there are good reviews on all of them.

They all re-direct to a another page, you can add links which is the same as adding html or other code, isn't it? They are all 1 - time fees, have many templates, and affiliate templates.

The only difference I can find is they convert the videos to flash instead of uploading to Amazon. Does it come all ready to upload to Amazon or do we have to go sign up for an account, add a credit card and get that API code or whatever it is. How does the AWS work?

Did I miss any other differences? I don't mind paying the extra $60 or $107 or $200 - I just want to know what it's for. WHY?

Thanks for getting back to us Josh, I appreciate you explaining the problems and I look forward to getting your email.

If you get a chance and the time it would be nice to know why the version that all the pre-release customers had worked, and yet the release version didn't on the same server setups?

As to your point about all the happy customers and testimonials in the wso thread, that is the whole reason I have remained patient with this. I know a good product at heart when I see it and I have some experience of coding so I understand the complexities of different server setups as well.

As for the communication problems with all your new customers, maybe you should consider Justin if he wants the job as a spokesman for you (paid work of course). He has been very helpful with various problems.

Lol... Thanks. Would probably be more lucrative than my product launch affiliate earnings!

Here is a short video I made pointing out some items within the Members Area for those of you that have purchased EVP and are considering purchasing EVP.

This is not an affiliate link just a video link. I hope it helps:

I've been waiting three days for a refund. I'm beginning to wonder whether it will ever come!

...there is a 60 day money back guarantee or so the sales page says....does that mean I have to wait 60 days?

No I doubt it. I think it is purely that they sold far more copies than they thought they would sell and are still improving their support team. Would expect you to get the refund by the end of the weekend. Although now the software is working I am slightly at a loss as to why you would want a refund.

Unfortunately still not working on my system yet and no email from Joshua yet either Justin.. Think I will stick with EZS3 for the forseeable future and come back to easy video player in a couple of weeks or so.. Hopefully all bugs will be sorted by then. I don't have time to waste anymore on this

        Hi thriftgirl,

I havent spent much time looking at the other video packages you mention.

If you are hoping to get any kind of visitor levels to your site you simply have to be hosting your video on the Amazon servers unless your own servers are state of the art and very fast otherwise your websites will stop working properly.

Getting an Amazon account set up is remarkably straightforward and it doesn't cost a huge amount.

Indeed blatant plug here but if you buy EVP through my link along with all my other I think exceptional bonuses I will either set up the Amazon account for you or give you a video showing you how to do it!

Adding links to a video is not the same as embedding a paypal code or an optin code directly into the video.

Looking at Video WebWizard it does allow you to forward the video to another webpage but it won't allow you to embed html directly into the video.... and it doesn't allow you to use Amazon.

Easy Web Video doesnt seem to have the ability to add html to your video or to forward to another site although it does allow you to add your affiliate link to any video email you send, (I am not sure exactly what that means). It also seems to host the video on their own site.

Certainly given the option and the need for reliability I would choose Amazon over anybody else for my videos.

I hope that helps. I also find that just looking at the respective sites the Easy Video Player wins hands down from a professional looking site point of view although that isn't I suppose overly important! It is worth noting though that Josh has been branding himself as a video expert for a while now and I think his efforts are completely focussed on video. With a succesful launch under his belt with over 2000 copies sold he also has a decent war chest to ensure his product remains ahead of the competition!

I guess the thing to do if you remain unsure is to buy all three and then refund the two that you don't like! I would almost bet my house that Easy Video Player would be your favorite of the three.

PS I couldnt really figure out the attain response offer although it seemed more geared to email video marketing, so havent commented on that one.

WHY?

Okay, you got a deal. I bought the EVP plus the Site Builder for the extra $67 but that receipt got stuck in PayPal so I'm not sure if it went through or timed out.

Blatent plugs used wisely are a breath of fresh air - keep trading bonuses and services for plugs all day long. That's business done right. Now it's my turn. Hopefully I qualify for that Video Camera - I don't have one! I gave my last one away over 2 years ago.

If you would be so kind, sir I hereby publicly declare right here in this square:
Warranty - ZERO Days No REFUNDS Promise SEALED with a PINKY SWEAR!

I opened an Amazon account over a year ago but it was too complicated to
use. There's no rush to set this up. I'll wait until the support desk is caught
up and check on that Site Maker first.
          THANKS for the Review,

Yes, I want to thank you too, Josh, for getting back to us. It's a relief to know that you're addressing the problems and will contact us again soon. I was one of the gripers on this thread, but the fact that I haven't requested a refund is a reflection of my expectations for EVP, because it certainly has gotten good reviews. And I am still eager to put it to use!

So, good luck with the rest of the launch. Looking forward to hearing from you and your team when the dust has settled.

I just came across this thread this morning. As corny as it may sound, Josh was correct in that I've been busy using EVP.

I am a staunch supporter of Josh, his support staff and of course the Easy Video Player

I have had my copy since late October and frankly have been amazed at the number of new releases that have come out since the original version. Most ALL of the new releases have been because of awesome additions to the product - not because of bug fixes, which I find to be a refreshing change from other software releases I'm used to getting.

I am comfortable in stepping out on the limb and saying to anyone that has had a problem with EVP that it will be resolved.

I do not want this to turn into a sales-pitch for EVP, I just want you to know what my experience has been - and that I am a very, very satisfied customer.

      Sincerely,
      Steve Dougherty

    Hi

I just heard about this thread from a fellow Warrior and wanted to add my comment.

Given the size of the launch it's going to be expected that issues will arise. The positive thing is they are no doubt being resolved as quick as possible.

You only have to review the old WSO thread and see the comments from your fellow warriors to know this is a genuine product.

I wasn't lucky enough to get EVP as the WSO but I have it now and know it will make me a lot more money this year, more importantly it will make my life easier

Anyways I just wanted to put my thoughts out there and to hopefully put some minds at rest, stick with it... Problems gets fixed and more than likely the product will be even better when they are

Did you go to the company or ask Clickbank for the refund?

I raised a support ticket with Clickbank today and chose the 'refund' option. This should mean that I get a refund processed automatically by Clickbank after two business days - ie Wednesday.

Like Steve, I'm going to get on with the many other things I have to do and then see if this product is working properly in a few months time - or if a better one has come out.

I went back to the company Webactix for the refund. As far as I can see Clickbank were not involved at all in the transaction. My payment went straight from Paypal to Webactix and I have no clickbank reference number or invoice ID numbers or anything like that. Very confusing!

Hey Peter, Some of the early bird sales went through Paypal. I know that you will get your refund but if support still havent got back to you by the end of the weekend it might be worth PMing Josh and also asking Paypal to give you a refund on the basis that the product didnt work... Although I think it does now but probably frustratingly too late for you!

              Hello,

You should be good to go

I just transferred several of my sites - one housed my Easy Video Player - from GVO ( ) to a Hostgator reseller account and all is working perfectly.

At first it did not work but that was due to operator error. I tried to open my EVP after I moved everything over and it gave me one of the nasty error messages, 5oo server or something like that.

Upon tracing my steps backwards, I failed to import my database files. Once I took care of that little oversight, all was right with the world once again.

2 days later (01-15-10) I get the email from Josh & Crew about the new release ver 1.1.12 I wanted to make sure everything in the new version was working before I upgraded my 'now-working' version, so I did a full install on my regular Hostgator account (non-reseller) and it works like a charm.

So whether you have a Hostgator reseller or a regular Hostgator account it has what is needed to run EVP.

              Hope this helps.

The new version works flawlessly for me. Thank you for fixing this. Got my site up this weekend. The ease of using your software is amazing - from auto uploading to Amazon's S3 to resizing the videos for various landing page requirements.

For those on the fence or hesitating based on the problems reported here I can tell you they appear to be fixed. EVP is much much more than a video player - it is a video management system with a video marketing system.

                          Again, thanks...Russ

                I forgot to ask,

Did you do a fresh, full install of EVP or a transfer from old Host to new Hostgator account?

Something may have happened in the transfer and might require a complete re-install.

If it turns out to be a complete re-install and you want to keep your stats and other info from the original install, try doing and 'upgrade'. Check out the upgrade video in the Members area of the EVP website and follow the steps on the upgrade video to do a 'new' install but this way you will maintain your existing data - like stats and such.

                Just an idea

                Steve D.

Thanks Steve, Just wanted to confirm yes, it does work fine with Hostgator, we have alot of users who do use Hostgator. If you move hosts, you cant just copy the files for EVP over though, you need to install on the new host, just like you would with WordPress for example..

EVP easily installed on Hostgator, no problems except for uploading videos. I had to ftp the videos to Hostgator rather than use the auto upload within EVP.

    Videos playback with no issues.

I may have to look into the S3 option though, I understand it is rather inexpensive.

Yes, It is remarkably cheap! Would recommend getting the Amazon option, especially if you are hoping your videos will be getting lots of views...

Dont think you should have to ftp the videos to hostgator though... I would get in touch with EVP support about that

    Hey everyone,

Sorry I havent posted in a while, ive been swamped with the launch being so busy!

We made Clickbank number 3 and have alot of big people lined up to promote soon again so it will hopefully hit number 1 soon.

All the bugs have now been sorted and we have made good progress making sure everyone is being contacted and dealt with. My support team have been working around the clock to clear the backlog and have done a good job.

Again, thank you everyone for your support and kind comments here. It means alot and I dont take any of them for granted!

Sincerely, thanks alot. I am proud of Easy Video Player and its great to get so many positive messages from people every day. I always appreciate it when people take the time!

Just to note, any refunds through Paypal have taken a while to queue up but are due to be processed tomorrow so you should all see them go through if you have requested one. If you purchased through Clickbank its MUCH quicker to go through them for a refund, not passing the buck, but they process automatically, we have to manually, so it does add a delay.

If you want to do that you can easily request it here:
    - ClickBank

But, anyone waiting for a refund through Paypal will have it processed within the next 24hrs. (bear in mind though, the bugs are now sorted and you do have one of the most powerful video marketing software products out there.. but if you still want a refund, I respect that and have made it easy for you by giving you the above link)

    Also,

Please just bear in mind, that if you contact me via my email or PM here at the moment, it may take a while to get back to you, its just that im that snowed under with people trying to contact me since launch for all sorts of reasons.. So, it will take a few days to get back to you.. I literally get hundreds of emails a day from people wanting to speak to me.

If you do email me, I WILL get back to you, its just right now, expect a bit of a delay.

If you have a problem though, our support team are there to help and have worked on the backlog now and cleared it so they should get back to you quickly.

Thanks again for all the great comments about Easy Video Player.

I purchased EVP last week, and after a few problems they were resolved by Josh- Thank you Josh- and I am very happy with the way it is working.

I do have a question in relation to EVP and SEO.

I have a number of blogs linking one way back to my main site. Would it make a difference if I host the evp files on my main site as opposed to offsite, or do you think it wouldn't make a difference, SEO-wise.

    thanks

I think that the way EVP works it shouldnt make any difference where the evp files are hosted. However Google have stated that they will be giving fast loading sites an advantage on google so it will probably make sense hosting them off site unless your server is very fast.

Please read nothing untoward into my request for a refund either. It was simply that the software does not do what I wanted for a specific project I am working on. I never even got as far as installing it!

I also am waiting for a refund nearly a week, and customer non-support just closed my ticket asking me to go to Clickbank and ask for a refund there. This seems like a stall move as my early purchase DID NOT use Clickbank, and it seems unlikely they don't know that.

Had to put in another refund ticket request, but this isn't good customer service. They may, or may not have most all the bugs worked out, but clearly they put out a product not ready for prime time.

If anyone is considering the purchase of EVP primarily because they think Amazon S3 is too hard for them to use, they should first check out a few of the S3 beginners guides...

You can find easy to follow S3 guides, such as the one at Hongkiat, by simply searching online for them..

Also very helpful are Firefox plugins like: S3Fox or Rjonna's, which make the interface about as simple as using FTP...

(I'm NOT in any way affiliated with those services, which are free anyway..)

People should also know that, as of now at least, any EVP video you post on sites like YouTube will NOT have operational links embeded. You can always have links right next to a video, but then the utility of EVP goes down.

JUSTINW I know you're right where you
must love to be - helping all of us vide0-tards whom you probably
wonder about...but still have the patience of Job. Thank-you for
      fixing my goof-ups.

It's like Will Smith says, we all have talent but that's not enough.
I'm going back to practice getting this S3 online easy video player
to work - keep at it daily and you too can be like JustinW - able to
get it working after a few tries instead of a few weeks!!!

Now, here's my suggestion as a vide0-tard, keep it unless you're
flat broke or don't really want video after all.
      I think the key to
this thing is the storage - the S3 it works with. The other ones
would be much more difficult to go S3, wouldn't they? Don't they
have to be kept on your own server?

This is an investment into the future of Video, not a 1-trick pony
with short life span. If you get out now, how much will it cost to
get back in when everything is running smooth as silk?

I am a Programmer, believe it or not, and this I know. Bugs are
normal and once they're gone - and it takes time - but they will
be gone for good and a few more come along but eventually you've
got something worth having at cost no one else will get...bugs cost
      time and money.

Which do you have to spend? Time now or money later?
Thanks again JustinW!! I just have to add one more thing - it's pretty cool (from TV)
My name is Leah Dubyk...and I'm On Your Side. I like the sound of that!!!

      btw - so is JustinW!!!!

Hoping JustinW or SuccessfulGeek can help us!

We're using EVP to post videos in WordPress. They're fine at first, but if we go back and edit that post, they disappear. (Code is still there in HTML view, but they don't display.)

We saw something a while ago on the EVP site that you can't edit a post or it will "break" the code. Hmmm. We often need to go back to tweak something before publishing.

Updated just now to version 1.1.13 but the problem remains.

Watched a support video at EVP which said to install the Inline Javascript plugin. This plugin hasn't been updated for 73 days and WordPress doesn't guarantee it will work with the current WP.

We forge ahead anyway. Now we're at the point where the Read Me for Inline Javascript plugin says:

" 1. Assign the 'unfiltered_html' capability to the user. Assigning capabilities to roles or users is out of the scope of this plugin. Because WordPress has no built-in configuration menu in the admin menu to assign roles/capabilities, you need to install the [Role Manager plugin]. "

      What? Another plugin needed?

There have got to be lots of EVP users who are using it on WP blogs. Is there an easier way? Are we missing something?

      Thanks for any suggestions!

  • While EVP sounds cool and all with its ability to embed optin forms and payment buttons... I very much doubt of the actual efficacy of it. I mean, you can just instruct your viewers to "fill the opt in form on the right" or to "place your order through the link under the video".

I just see it more as a tech gimmick than an actual revenue-booster.

Well I have started converting my videos so they now have opt in forms in the video. About 50% of optins come from the video and 50% from the form on the right. It has the additional advantage that you can give your affiliates a video and their customers can opt in straight from the video and they will be cookied for any sale.

I dont have any statistics on sales from EVP embedded paypal buttons yet mainly because I dont have that many products I am selling. Still I suspect it will be a good conversion if my videos are good.

Finally even without the html and optin code embedding facility this would still be a good buy for the simplicity with which you can host your videos using the Amazon S3.

I may be an affiliate but I am promoting this because I believe it will be a good purchase for my list and others I am recommending it too, so please dont just disregard this because of the affiliate link in my signature.

i think its not guaranted that work to some domain
One of my many bonuses is that I will install EVP for you. I have only had one problem and that was when the Control Panel had options for PHP 4 and PHP 5 and I hadnt realised and the site was defaulting to PHP 4.

EVP needs PHP 5.2+ with curl installed and My SQL 2+ and then I believe it will work perfectly now. It might be worth checking with your webhost before you buy this that that is the case.

I am pretty confident it will work on almost all domains.

A top 5 affiliate for us who competed with huge name marketers and still got right to the top of our sales board specifically used EVP features to make his sales.

Auto redirection of a viewer when they are at their most hot, watching the video works.. Embedding buy now buttons and opt in forms into the videos work very well. We use these techniques and tested them even before releasing our software and MANY of our users are getting great results..

      Think of this..

Embed your affiliate link into a button which appears at the end of a video promoting the product you are trying to sell.. Hit the allow embed button and social sharing buttons within EVP so that your viewers can easily share your videos on all the social sites and even embed the video on their sites and share the content..

Every single version of the video shared across the internet has YOUR button in it at the end right at the end of your video sales pitch, with YOUR affiliate link.. This is a GREAT way to make sales and alot of our affiliates are making their sales this way.

I ended up buying this through JustinW's link and I'm glad I did! One of his bonuses is that he will install it for you. I must say that bonus was totally worth it. He tried for a few days to get it going and there were a few technical glitches but he stuck with it and got it working perfectly! I would recommend buying through Justin so just in case you have technical difficulties getting it installed he will see it through!

As far as the product itself, I am actually using it quite extensively now and am pretty impressed. I have a need to put a ton of videos up on a site I own and was never able to use Amazon S3. Now, I have S3 working perfectly thanks to this software. Good stuff!

I just got EVP the other day and I'm very excited about it. I put together a social media training and set-up program out of necessity and I have others that want to buy it. I was originally training one on one, but I am going to combine this with Camtasia and make training videos so I can handle a lot more customers.

I also had no idea how Amazon S3 worked, I just heard it was a good deal. Now because of this I am seeing how great it really is since I am on pretty cheap hosting, I can still keep the host that I have and offload all the heavy lifting.

Thanks for putting together an awesome product Josh.

Videos you post on video sharing sites like youtube and others are unlikely to ever have embedded links directly in the video and you are absolutely right if that is the only reason you want EVP, you probably shouldn't buy it. Where it really comes into play is when you use videos on your own website or blog of you want other people to be able to embed your videos on their sites. In both cases the optin forms and paypal buttons should be worth their metaphorical weight in gold.

The other advantage of using EVP over S3 Fox or similar is the advanced tracking functionality. If you are not tracking properly you are just not marketing properly.

Really sorry to hear about your problems getting a refund. I know of the people who bought through my link one person got a refund and that was through clickbank and it happened very quickly. I think the problem is that the earlybird list got EVP through Paypal and not through clickbank and the support had real and inexcusable really overload problems. It might be worth your while PM'ing Josh directly, however I am confident that your refund will soon be sorted out. He has posted a few times to this thread so you should be able to find that.

You don't need to download it but you do need to register with EVP so you can use it.

If you want me to install it you will need to give me access to your control panel so I can create a database and also give me your ftp details.

        Hope that makes sense.

Have pmed you my email and skype details

EVP is working great for me on Hostgator. The only inconvenience is that on files greater than 64mb, I have to upload via FTP rather than easy uploading via EVP. This seems to be a limitation of EVP when used with hosting other than S3.

    EVP is a great product.

Really liking EVP so far. Still have a lot to learn with it, but I know it is very different from posting a video to YouTube. I just think for my squeeze pages that have the video on it and the opt in form to the right, it will just increase opt-ins. I will be doing split tests soon to make sure but it would make sense to me. As well as on sales pages instead of making them scroll down to the buy button I can have it right in the video as well as if they scroll down.

I bought the software 1/12 at 9:01 AM PST and was excited to get it. So far I haven't loaded it on any sites yet but I do have it up on S3 and everything seems to work fine except the opt-in feature.

For some reason the video stalls (it keeps buffering) at the end when my opt-in form is supposed to be displayed. I tested the redirect feature too and it works fine but the screwy opt-in feature is dead for me. I have the pro version if that makes a difference.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Difficult to tell without looking at your installation. Did you remember to change the asset folder settings to 777 for the tmp folder and assets folder?

I havent come across this problem on any of the installations I did.

All versions are the pro version!

        Justinw,

As you probably know, you can't PM someone here until you have a certain number of posts.

You mentioned it would be a good idea to PM Josh directly to ask about the Paypal refund. Because I don't yet have the required number of posts, I can't yet PM Josh directly. Would please do this for me, or tell me another way to do it?

Overloaded or not, several weeks is too long for a simple refund, especially when I have also posted several support tickets with the ID and payment proof included.

FYI, EVP support claims to be helpless to make the Paypal refunds happen. Support means if you personally can't do it, you give it to the person who can. Obviously, Josh or his support staff should be caught up by now and we all know refunds are just a click away for the person or company that is concerned about their reputation and customer service..

Sure. I just sent him a PM on your behalf. Sorry you seem to have slipped through the net somehow.

For what it is worth if you add someone as a friend you can then send them DMs. You could also try sending him a message on Twitter or post a comment on his blog.

Purely as a matter of interest why do you want a refund? If there is anything I can do to make your usage of the product easier let me know.

As an aside if anyone reading this is worried about buying EVP and not being able to get a refund as an added bonus to my offer if anyone buys it through my link, doesn't like it which personally would surprise me and wants a refund I will guarantee that you will get your refund!

I also requested a Refund....and after being told twice it was "in process" still NOTHING! I even paid them the money for THEM to install it for me and they still couldn't get it to work, which is why I requested the refund (and my server is HostGator so it's top of the line and allows everything they require!)

Here's the last reply I got:
I'm very sorry for the delay in replying to you - I have been seriously ill over the past week.
I will alert my boss that your refund is urgent. I'm sorry that this is the best I can offer you right now.

and the reallyird part is that I initially installed EVP on my old server (which was just some old free one) and it worked GREAT....LOVED it
then I got the bright idea to upgrade to HostGator and I didn't want to go through all those steps again so I paid EVP to do the install....and they couldn't get it to work even though HG has all the settings they require!

Then I tried another player....and it was WAY more complicated and scattered to install/use....so I found a simple little FLV streaming software that's a bit clunky but at least it works!

EVP is kicking ass and taking names for me (literally)...

Sorry to hear you guys are having trouble, but I thought
it only fair to post an alternative perspective from someone
who is using the software happily as advertised.

One thing I will say is that upgrading from the early versions
into the new one was a flop for me and I wound up reinstalling
    fresh, which worked flawlessly.

Food for thought if you're having trouble making the jump
to the newest versions from an old install.

    Best,

I think it is great, but anyone else had a problem with your videos streaming? Mine are a bit laggy as they frequently have to stop and buffer even though I have very fast internet.

I don't think this is an issue with EVP but with Amazon s3. I must be rendering my vids in the wrong way.

What file size are you guys using to make sure it streams right.

@Josh thanks for the update on what was going on. The lack of communication hurt a bit but the quality of the product and support has been outstanding so I am definitely sticking with you.

@JustinW You rock for helping everyone as much as you have. Great inspiration.

Everyone, if you need help with EVP at all I'm willing to help as well. I doubt I'm as knowledgeable as JustinW, but I have figured out a few things and the install process for me is definitely easy. So PM, ping me on Skype or post here if you need anything.

@titippmann One thing you might try, make sure you have cloudshare activated on Amazon Web Services and then go to the Settings Tab in EVP and make sure "Yes, I want to use Amazon CloudFront to serve my files faster" is checked.

    hey guys,

I just wanted to update everyone on this thread myself.

Things have been CRAZY since the launch of Easy Video player, we have hundreds of people contact us a day, a huge amount of sales every day and we are working on growing our support to help everyone to the maximum of our ability who needs it.

I dont just want to provide bear minimum technical support I want to provide a guiding helping hand to all of our customers, unfortunately going from zero to literally many many thousands of customers so quickly has meant we are working hard around the clock to increase our support.

We now have more support staff in place, are just in the process of changing our support desk to be more user friendly and include much more in terms of advice for our users.

We are also working hard on creating a SIMPLE windows installer (mac coming after) for EVP. This means there will be no need to FTP files or create a database to install EVP (Even though the current install is as easy as installing Wordpress) we wanted it to be as super simple as possible for everyone, regardless of if they have ANY technical knowledge or not.

I want to point something out here:

EVP is VERY simple to use, ALL feedback has supported that.. The biggest issue we get is from people who cannot manage the install process. The install process is almost EXACTLY the same as Wordpress's install process. If you have EVER installed Wordpress, you can install EVP.

However, if you have problems with that, the easy installer we are working on right now will make it brain dead simple for you.

This is an example of me listening to customers and reacting by putting my money back into a solution for them to make it easier for the percentage who struggle with the technical ability to install.

It is also worth mentioning, with ANY software, you get questions and people who experience some kind of problem. With the thousands of new users, it only takes a small percentage of them to have any problem at all for numbers to add up.. We get support questions regarding all sorts of topics and we try to answer ALL of them. (from using video, formatting video, installation, using the software, general misc questions, specific questions relating to their needs and setups etc, Amazon S3 questions.. It all adds up) However, the % of people who actually have problems with our software is VERY VERY low.

I am investing alot into the installer technology to make it as simple as possible and we are also working HARD on new features (FREE upgrades) for all of our users.

We have some VERY cool features planned throughout the year and they will all be free upgrades for current users.

Once the first range of upgrades and new features come out we will probably be increasing the price, but for all users at that time, there will be no cost for the new stuff.

As for refund requests, I have been speaking to ClickBank directly to see how we can simplify this (if at all) so it is a faster process for anyone who needs a refund (our refund rates are very low, but we understand if you want a refund, you want it as quickly as possible) I am working on this, we cant change ClickBanks system but I am looking at putting what we can in place to make this sort of thing easier for our users in the rare circumstance they should need a refund.

All outstanding refunds are processed that have been mentioned on this thread, the delay was only due to the absolutely insane response we had to the launch.

We went from being a very small company with a few users to literally exploding and growing to a big business with multiple staff and take on our userbase (thousands of users) literally overnight.

Thank you to EVERYONE for your support, stick with us, I am going to invest back into my user base and give them as much free cool stuff and upgrades as I can.

I GENUINELY value every single customer and believe strongly in outstanding service to customers, over delivering on value and I am committed to doing just that. We have had to just manage with our rapid growth but now we have adjusted to handle the level of business and users I will very soon be getting back to dedicating alot of my time to over delivering to every customer.

Finally, I have to say thank you to JustinW for doing an amazing job helping people out.

Justin, get in contact with me via PM with your email, I will be getting in contact with a little thank you for you!

I will also now be checking back here more regularly now we have our team in place and new members on board.

    Thanks again to everyone.

If you are considering buying Easy Video Player, now is a great time to do so before it goes up in price, also, feel free to buy it through Justin's affiliate link.. He deserves it!

EVP is an amazing piece of software. I'm so glad that I didn't ask for a refund when one of the early releases needed a fix. Getting video on the site couldn't be easier using EVP.

A good point was made that unhappy customers are more vocal. This makes it seem like there are many problems and unanswered emails. The roll out might have been bumpy with an unanticipated demand but I've seen a dramatic improvement in communication and support. I hope other satisfied users/customers will post and balance this thread out. That is why I'm posting - EVP has worked great for me, installed easily, and made using S3 brain dead simple.

Josh, thanks for the update. Your taking care of Justin is a dramatic demonstration of your character and integrity. Much appreciated.

Again (and I've got no skin in the game here) if you want to do video then EVP is a great solution. It manages the videos, gives you reports on utilization, visitors, traffic, effectiveness of your videos, etc. It is far more than a player: it is a complete video and traffic management system. When you consider Wordpress Themes are costing $100 bucks these days, EVP is an incredible bargin too.

I fully agree with Russ Emrick. I too voiced concerns (and complaints) during the somewhat bumpy launch period. But once I downloaded the correct version, properly installed it, and got it running, EVP has worked like a charm -- and I see many possibilities for its application here on out. I'm a very happy customer. Well done Josh, you've created a superb product.

Then that is defnitely your problem.

You need to log into Easy Video Player at Members: Non-member EasyVideoPlayer Members Area and then there will be a link to a download area.

If you are still having a problem downloading it let me know either by using Twitter @niche365 or by sending me a message on here with either a skype or email address. By your post count the only way you can send me a message is to add me as a friend and then send me the message.

OK justinw, I will try that, but when I look at the download in the EVP members area under the download for EVP, it said that the link was last updated on Jan. 9, 2010 which was prior to my purchase on Jan. 16, 2010. Do you think that the link in the members area would still have the more current version? Is the Zip file labeled with the version number or is there a way when I try downloading it again that I can tell that it is the most recent version?

A few things about the EVP are a bit puzzling to me.

First of all, it appears that EVP makes use of the open source FlowPlayer. I don't know all of the features and plugins offered by FlowPlayer, but I wonder what features EVP has uniquely to itself (vs. a free, customized FlowPlayer). Is it simply a user-friendly interface for setting up FlowPlayer?

Also, has anyone tested conversions of the opt-in inside the video vs. next to the video or below the video? I would like to know if this makes a measurable difference at all. As for the "viral" thing with people sharing and embedding your video, that's not really going to happen in all but the rarest of cases, so that's not really a selling point for me.

Would love to hear from some EVP users.
    Thanks.

There is an interesting WSO by Ellen Braun on here which talks amongst other things about video and optins.

From my experience if the video is compelling enough the optins are much better, if the opt in form is inside the video. Also I think that the ability to stick a paypal button inside the video is also very powerful.

Other than that EVP is a very easy to use way to embed videos into your webpage and to host them on the Amazon servers if you so choose. Essential if your webpages are going to get a lot of hits.

There are other ways of doing both but it is a time consuming and frustrating affair and EVP makes it simple and fast.

    Hmm...

I always put EVP inside it's own div in the html and I also use the raw html plug which seems to stop me having problems. This means you have to add <!--start_raw-->EVP Code<!--end_raw-->I have noticed this in the past, for some reason Wordpress changes the EVP code when you make a change. I am pretty confident although not 100% confident that the raw html plug in stops it making a mess of things.

Haven't tried the inline javascript plugin solution so can't help you with that one.

      Thanks, Justin!

The Raw HTML plugin works beautifully. (And allows us to edit a post AFTER we've added the EVP code.)

If I hadn't already bought EVP, I'd absolutely buy it through you. Do you offer technical services or webmastering? If yes, is there a site where we could see what kind of projects you'd like to work on?

And how do I thank you here on WF for this very helpful post? (I'm likely missing something simple, but can't see how to do it.)

I found Amazons S3 very user friendly anyway but bought easy video player because I thought it sounded like it would make my life easier.

Unfortunately it doesn't play in widescreen and doesn't allow you to put the evp outputted video into an existing template on your site. So you just end up with a square screen on the page which didn't work for me.

As a result I ask for a refund based on the 60 day money back guarantee Josh provides and that was on Feb 6th when I got an email saying it would be processed asap. I have 2 emails since with the same promises but nearly 3 weeks later I am still waiting for my refund. This is very disappointing as you could imagine.

I will keep you updated as to whether this guy honours his guarantee and refunds the $127.

          Thanks.
Yes, Easy Video Player is the free version of Flowplayer... think of it as buying a "Flowplayer customization and Amazon S3 integration script all in a simple to use interface."

There would be no need for EVP if Flowplayer provided 'for dummies' documentation on how to modify the open source code on your own.

If you're good at coding, you certainly don't need Easy Video Player... you have to balance your time investment with the cost of having a pretty much push-button solution.

You could compare this product with PayDotCom... which is simply a medium for vendors and affiliates to receive, track, and send payments/commissions via PayPal. If PayPal added an affiliate marketplace and affiliate sales and payment tracking functions, PayDotCom would be useless. Same if Flowplayer provided better documentation or their own script for easy customization.

So, don't feel cheated. Josh has provided great value by simplifying the complicated. My only erk is the license for personal use only as I mentioned on a previous post in this thread... because of that, I had my own EVP developed for clients, and I'm considering market release at a lower price than EVP (it has a lot more customization/functionality.) It will be a few weeks, but it will be awesome

You don't need Josh to refund your money. The sale is made through ClickBank, and they will honor the guarantee regardless of Josh's wishes. Contact their support, or open up a dispute with PayPal for the transaction and ClickBank will refund.

Please don't abuse this for CB products just to get them for free... Josh's product deactivates when refunded - otherwise I wouldn't share this as it's a shame how many people play the refund system.

Hey Scott, are you still releasing this? I've got a number of Video Sales Letter projects in the pipeline in a couple of very different markets (non IM) and would be keen to use it. Any idea when we might be able to purchase?

Just wondering?? Why don't you just upload your Video Sales Letters to Amazons S3 Cloudfront yourself? You just embed them in your pages. You don't NEED the interface, it's just a nice to have for yourself. Is there something I'm missing??

Just to clarify, EVP CAN be used for client use now.

People wishing to use EVP for client videos need to speak to our support team to discuss how they will be using it so we can make sure they have the best set up from day one..

We also have some really cool new features for current users just around the corner, which will roughly double the feature set of the product.

Thanks Scott we all know about clickbank but when I purchased it I used paypal but off a page on Josh's site and not clickbank so it wasn't that easy.

You obviously don't know, you now get no buyer protection from Paypal unless you purchase something from ebay. Yes I was surprised when I took it up with them and after completing the dispute resolution form got an IMMEDIATE response saying the case was rejected. I sent them an email as well but got the same reasponse saying I had no buyer protection because it wasn't an ebay purchase. So basically it is buy off a website own form through paypal and your screwed if you want a refund.

I felt this contravened the financial services regulations here in Australia and complained to the banking ombudsman and I have received a letter back saying there was a case to answer and they would be looking into it. Hopefully I will force Paypal to change their rules to fall in line with the other australian banks. I take it their new rules were adopted when ebay bought them because years ago they would issue the refund in a clear cut case such as this.

Anyway I finally got my refund from Josh which i felt I had to drag it out of him with the help of one of his contacts who approached him about it. It took 3 weeks and I am sure many of people would have given up. It left a sour taste in my mouth though and I would never buy anything from him again.

By the way I don't play the refund game and am happy to pay for something that is useful but a video player that doesn't handle widescreen format is out of date. One that doesn't allow me to place the adjusted video inside my own template is useless also. So I have no intention of bothering to try and use it. You can set a link inside your video to send it to a site of your choice with bubbleply.com I've heard anyway and that could be set to send the viewer to a sign up page.

This may sound like a stupid question, but does EVP help those of us who use a Mac to successfully export out Screenflow videos via Flash, so we can use Amazon S3 and be able to embed our videos on a web page?

Reason I ask... beyond uploading a video to Youtube or whatever, I don't know how to export via Flash with Screenflow (and via my Mac).

Again... weird questions, maybe... but I'm stumped.

Easy Video Player is not a flash rendering tool, just a player. If ScreenFlow cannot export in flash you'll need to use a 3rd party software.

If you want a good quality flash converter, Moyea Flash Video MX Pro is a great option for a tighter budget. If you can afford it, ON2 and Adobe Media Encoder provide better results... but they're very expensive.

Double check that ScreenFlow doesn't have a .flv output option. Also, if you have to use a 3rd party flash converter make sure that your original video file is of the highest quality (ideally, .avi uncompressed.)

I believe EVP supports .mp4 files, so look into that as well.

For further help, there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube for software like ScreenFlow and Camtasia (as well as flash converting with 3rd party software.) I would investigate there regarding ScreenFlow before grabbing a Flash Converter as you may not need one... also, if the videos are mainly screen capture then I would not put up the $$$ for On2 or Adobe Media Encoder - they benefit more videos that have a lot of motion.

You need to convert the MOV that Screenflow creates to either MP4 or FLV. I recommend using Quicktime Pro for only $29 because it is powerful and can do exactly what you need it to do.

You can upload .mov files to S3 using EVP. I'm working on a new video course and I export the files from Screenflow as .mov's and then just upload the .mov file to EVP. Usually MOV offers a bit higher quality anyway.

That's nothing new. If you open up a dispute on a ClickBank transaction they refund no questions asked. It's only if you escalate to a claim where PayPal automatically says TS.

Also, if you're going to be on the defense when someone tries to help you out don't bother asking... glad it worked out for you.

WTF - am I getting ripped off? Bought EVP on the launch date directly through paypal. I've opened a ticket on Bartlett's support platform and requested a refund of my purchase. After not getting a response for 8 days, I resubmitted the ticket. Finally received the following response:

    Hi,

I'm very sorry for the delay on your refund, we are still experiencing restrictions on our Paypal account due to the success of the launch.

      Hi,

Not sure why you feel ripped off. She's telling you that she is putting in a NOTE (not a "not") to refund you asap. When you make too many sales via Paypal, sometimes they freeze your account and don't give you access to the money for weeks/months... so it sounds like this is what happened to them.

No scam going on there. It may be a pain in the rear, but they're not scamming you.

It's pretty simple, really. I paid $120, requested a refund pursuant to the money back guarantee, and have not received my money back. The guarantee did not say anything like "you can get your money back so long as our account is not frozen" or "you can get your money back at some point when we decide to give it to you" or whatever. Frankly, their issues with one of their payment processers are not my problem. I am quite confident they have $120 and I would like my money back as promised.

Oh, and their failure to respond to my ticket until I prodded them didn't help matters.

Unfortunately, in the case of Paypal, it becomes your problem.

When Paypal freezes your accounts, you can NOT make any type of withdrawal, including processing refunds. It's how it is with them.

To have them simply send you your money via another method results in sloppy bookkeeping, and possible issues down the road. Unscrupulous people who get "refunded" outside of the original transaction can always claim they never got refunded. Then according to Paypal, they would see no refund given and require ANOTHER refund. Remember - it's not only merchants or marketers that can scam customers. Customers can scam merchants too.

I know this sucks, but you can be confident that when Josh once again gets access to his account fully restored, he will process your refund.

I've always contacted PayPal before a launch to tell them the expected amounts that will be coming through and have never had an issue... however, I have heard that they can freeze accounts for quite some time to investigate large sums that aren't normal activity on an account.

However, this is odd considering the initial launch was done months ago, and a phone call to PayPal to ask for the ability to refund customers while they're investigating shouldn't be an unreasonable request for PayPal to allow... but we don't know the full details and PayPal can be a pain in the rear sometimes and freeze accounts for reasons other than sales volume.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, refunding buyers through any means other than the original transaction prevents protection for the merchant (i.e. they send you money and you chargeback/refute anyway.) It's happened to me, and it stinks that you can't go on good faith anymore.

Josh's support has responded to you, and I highly doubt Josh wants to damage his rep by not offering refunds all of a sudden.

      Thanks for the comments Scott,

Trust me, if a call to Paypal could of sorted it out, I would of got it sorted within the first few hours. I had hours and hours over weeks on the phone with Paypal and we could not do anything with our funds. Sometimes they allow you to process payments still, sometimes they dont. In our case they do not.

Trust me, I am the sort of person who walked out of my old high paying job without even having an alternative to pay the bills because I felt it was unethical. If someone doesnt want me to have their money, I dont want to have it. I am HAPPY to refund people. Unfortunately the circumstances caused an issue beyond my control at the time.

With all this focus on refunds however I think its worth saying that our refund rate is actually in the low single digits. That is UNHEARD of for a software product, we have an extremely low refund rate and pretty much anyone who uses Easy Video Player seems to be VERY happy with it.

Bigdadda - You should have received your refund, if not contact me personally and I will make sure I sort this out for you myself ASAP.
      (PM me here)

I checked your ticket and we responded within 24hrs so I am not sure of the reference to waiting 8 days but I am sorry that you had to wait.

To be fair to us, and I dont mean any disrespect but it has to be said..

no we did not stipulate "unless our account gets frozen" within our guarantee but we also did not say "unless I die, the world ends" etc etc.. These things are out of our control, sometimes things happen..

We communicated with you, explained the situation and then take steps to process a refund, there is not much more you can ask for and many big companies stipulate a 30 day timescale for transactions to be processed. We dont stipulate any timescale and 99% of the time refunds are processed within one working week. (Which is pretty respectable)

Also, the fact I am here replying to you shows my commitment to customer service.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any problems.

Let me finish the discussion on these topics by saying..

      A) These comments are in reference to issues that happened during the first few weeks of a major international launch.. (3 months ago) These things have been resolved, it is just important to me to clarify these points for people publicly.

      B) The VAST majority of our customers are extremely happy and can see we actually work harder than anyone else in IM to keep our customers happy.

      Thanks,

I posted this in the wrong thread before....sorry in sales not reviews...

#1. I went to purchase this from a link from this thread offering bonus, should i use the contact form after, i checked the form and it was 404, so i used another browser to buy it to get rid of the cookie which would not delete.

#2. Love the program and its principal of how it works, and the functions that could be added, like download code.

#3. I installed in 2 folders, different logins, different databases, different config files, BUT!! it will only recognize one login, and one will log the other out and change the password!!!!

#3a. I did not do as suggested, use my cpanel_ user name as the database prefix_ when installing, I MEAN TO SAY!! but did try to use another, but it defaulted to evp_ ..

#3b. Quite a few emailing scripts also included, bit no email functionality for user ?? Maybe for the email my information to you ??

#3c. It defaults not to log bucket activity, and you should check that setting.

#4. The "call home" back to what must be another database overrides the one i installed, and is the only information that is encrypted.

#5. looks like code igniter to me, and is not allowed to be encrypted, but!!! Why not use enchryption for the users sensitive information?

#6. My accesses to AS3 and Cloud front are not even encrypted in the database, and visible in the admin area.

#7. I have changed them all awaiting a security assurance and update before i will use this product.

    Final Word
Great functionality if you can trust the basis of your business with this script. Great for sales videos if you do not have valuable items in your S3 account. I am really hoping that this will be fixed, cos i love the script, spent all night playing, and disapointed to find holes in it, or at least "?".

Personally i have faith and do not ask for refunds, its my calculated risk to buy, and have faith that this will be updated and will be all i hoped for.

I found that everything worked, but i did not test uploading locally to your own site. The permissions are sometimes reset by some servers. So maybe something to hold the chmod in the script would be appropriate fix.

First you have to choose which bucket you want to store the logs in before you can enable the logging. There's also optional tracking that can be enabled. Using CloudFront makes all files publicly readable by anyone on the Internet (by default) unless you enable the private content option which defeats the whole purpose for using CloudFront in the first place.

Private files should come directly from S3 buckets because there's no point in paying for the cost of continually copying private files (or those with little usage) from S3 to CloudFront for delivery from one if the edge locations. Cloudfront is for large, popular files constantly being requested like videos, games and graphics on your website. The same files accessed over and over again like CSS and JavaScript Code are cached at the edge location so you only pay once to get them there. Files requested once in awhile are better left in the S3 bucket with it's higher security defaults.

CloudFront lets you make streaming distributions for delivery in real time using the Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) so it's easy to rewind, fast-forward and you only pay for what's watched since no files are downloaded and left on any computers when it's finished being watched. Streaming Video has no private file options - it's publicly visible and appears in the search engines as well.

But watch out for these limitations - 1,000 megabits per second is the peak transfer speed....and the limit for requests is 1,000 per second. Can you guys handle that? If not, it takes 2 whole days to increase your limits...to as high as the clouds, get it!?

AWS sure is an AWESOME service and the cost is just pennies per month!! That's what makes Easy Video Player worth every penny of that $127 cost...and now it even supports streaming, doesn't it? Does the script automatically adjust for the streaming protocol "rtmp" ? Will this work? "FLVvideolocation" => "rtmp://sa2rh9456y0m8.cloudfront.net/cfx/st",

No big deal until the office people who pay the bills didn't recognize the charge and reported it not authorized. Still no big deal...both accounts are mine and so is the credit card...but guess what?

Paypal put my account on hold and froze my money and would not accept the proof I sent. The notices said to wait 60 days and the account would be released. It's been almost 90 days and it's still sitting there dormant....oh well, maybe one day I'll light a fire under them or show up in San Jose....now that might be fun. In the meantime, I just use one of my other 3 accounts. Always have a Paypal back up!! It seems like they can do anything for any reason...Are they on Twitter?? I wonder.

Wow you know your stuff on cloud front
I geuss i may be wanting a different set of sue than others.
#1. i want to stream member private videos
#2. would love to use it for downloads
and was hoping this would do that for me, so my info is too private for this? or do i not use cloudfront, but other security issues still to look at.

Thanks heaps for pointing that out

CORRECTION: There is a private content option for streaming video!
That's probably for exactly what you want to use it for: private members.

Cloudfront works for downloads almost the same as S3 buckets. The only difference is your files are copied from S3 and delivered from the closest "edge" location to wherever the request is coming from, making delivery faster. I think there are 9 locations that cache the most active files (in the world) so heavy users pay only for delivery from the edge to their users whereas less active files won't stay cached so every request comes from S3 to the closest edge location to the user and then downloaded.

That means you can use Cloudfront with the private files option enabled and they would be streamed in real time from the closest edge location making the delivery faster.

Downloads for less active files can be delivered directly from S3 buckets unless you're streaming. Files won't be download much faster with Cloudfront unless they are active enough to stay in the cache and requested over and over from the same edge location.

I just want to post about my experience with EVP service dept. I got in the first day and got EVP and never did any thing until last week. Man was that a disaster. I uploaded EVP everything looked great then it came time to upload videos, BAAM no such luck. So I sent in a request for support, and lo and behold I got help. I am new at this so I had this great Support Person Name Chris he worked with me for several days I was so frustrated I wanted to scream. But Chris was endless in his effort to help solve the problem. I now have a working EVP. And I should have posted this last week but have been reading so much stuff I forgot But I want to say that this was a great experience for me about patients.
Oh by the way Josh I told him to give himself a raise, He said he would tell you. Hope he did and you gave him a bonus at least.

      Hey Gerrd,

Thanks for the kind feedback. :-)

We do try our best to personally go the extra mile to help every single customer who has any questions. Thanks for taking the time to give a glowing report here!

It is interesting to note that most of our support questions actually relate to either Amazon S3 or Video formats in general NOT the Easy Video Player software.

(Neither of these things subjects are actually directly related to our Easy Video Player software) We still work with every customer, helping them understand S3 if they choose to use it (EVP does NOT force you to use it, you can use your own hosting if you desire) and also helping people with all video formatting questions and issues they may ever have. (Formatting video for the web, like anything, can be a learning curve, but one VERY worth having because of the benefits you receive from properly understanding what video formats to use online so your viewers get the best experience)

The reason we spend a huge amount time time helping our users with both of these areas when they are not directly related to our software is because we genuinely care about our users and the success they will get from using EVP to power their videos online.

While it is unfortunate that sometimes users will simply not know what video formats simply cannot be used online and blame Easy Video Player for the issue, or simply not understand how Amazon S3 works, and again blame Easy Video Player (when in both cases, EVP is doing everything perfectly)

We understand this is new territory for a lot of our users and therefore are more than happy to help anyway.

Because in my eyes, that is all part of great customer service!

      :-)

Thanks again for your kind words!

I just bought EVP. Can I use this software to capture leads on Youtube. Or only on my hosted sites?

How do you protect your S3 bucket? I asked that in another thread but this one is probably the appropriate place. I found a WP Plugin that protects S3 content but it may be incompatible with EVP.

    DigitalAccessPass.com Tutorials

Has anyone successfully protected their content in S3 with EVP? Thanks...Russ

Does anyone know if EVP will work with other video hosts like SimpleCDN.com or is it only for Amazon S3?

      Thanks

I bought EVP recently and am ready to install it but have a few questions please...

      1) I have a 5 cpanel account with seohosting.com (its Hostgator) with lots of addon domains. I know which domain I want to start using video on but will be using video for other domains too. Do you need to install EVP on every cpanel or every addon domain that you will be using video, or will EVP work for all my domains regardless of which cpanel it is installed on?

      2) If it doesn't matter which cpanel or domain I install EVP on, is there anything I should know now before installing it that I should consider when choosing which cpanel to install it on?

      3) Does EVP have a feature for doing "perpetual launch" style webinars (ala Ryan Deiss) where I can schedule the "webinar" (its actually a recorded video) to start automatically at the exact time I set it for? For example; I want the video to start automatically every Thursday evening at 6:00 PM PDT.

      4) Just below the "perpetual launch" video (mentioned in #3 above) I also want to have a countdown timer (see screenshot below) counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the next "webinar" starts, which will be next Thursday at 6:00 PM PDT. Can EVP do that?

      5) Does EVP have a feature where I can have an "Order Now" button appear at the exact time I want during the video?

      6) IF EVP does NOT have those features (numbers 3, 4 and 5 above) built-in to it, does EVP offer an easy way to add those scripts?

      7) I'm not a techie but can do most stuff if the instructions are "tard" proof. Do the EVP tutorials make the installation super easy and simple?

      Thanks
      Steve

P.S. The reason the seconds are blurred in the screen capture below is because I took this screen shot of the countdown script in action.

I hate the way when you buy something that is meant to be upgraded for life, you =get an email to pay for an upgrade. Just to make sure you pay, move the membership area. AND now, charge an extra $195 for client use. These tactics ensure I will NEVER buy from again. Marketing is not only about making money, its about honour and reputation.

I really liked the product it was based on one of my wish lists, but once again, as a customer get left behind by "The (Mickey Mouse Club) !!!
