Why IM is better off with "The Rich Jerk".........

Okay there has been some heated discussion here lately about the 'Bring on the Fresh' and its creator, Kelly Felix. And more specifically a lot of it centers around that ever popular and infamous character that we have all come to love and hate, "The Rich Jerk ".

So I wanted to have a separate Thread centered around 'The Rich Jerk' alone and whether you think (backed by valid points) why or why not it has helped or hindered IM in an overall general sense !!

My own personal observations can be traced by to Spring 2008 when I first started my journey into this crazy IM Life. The Rich Jerk was one of the first IM products I purchased.

And here are the reasons why I think 'The Rich Jerk' has been one of the truly greatest Success stories in IM and why its creation is something to be wholeheartidly commended for :

1. The fictional Persona its creator developed is truly something that would even make Hollywood big wigs be proud of. I dont give a damn what you naysayers say because Kelly's ability to create this character and to run with it for so long would make Cosby, Carlin, and Pryor proud of him. Whether its vulgar or not, it was and is complete entertainment much like a George Carlin Show was !! I would say there is only a handful of people in this Forum who maybe (and thats a big maybe) could come remotely close to doing what Kelly did and emulating his creative prowess !!

2. For a measley $10 you really got more than most other IM products I have purchased. WAY, WAY more. There were tid bits of info. in the ebook as well as the Forum and Blog that I utilized on my own way to Success. The package could have easily sold for $20 or $30 and the same amount of Units would have been moved. I dont doubt that.

3. I truly believed 'The Rich Jerk' has opened up options for many IMers who want to go a different path. John Cow is one that I think has followed a similar path. And that is adopting a crazy, off the wall persona and just running with it. While making financial gains in the meantime. NOTHING wrong with that. Actually,it is quite refreshing and it has stirred me on personally in creating my own unique character and capitalizing off of it.
Bottom line - People, it is called expressing yourself and your creativity and it has been the impetus for many GREAT NOVELS and ACADAMY AWARD WINNING Movies. So dont knock it whether it offends you or not.
Just because Jodie Foster was doused with feces and worse in 'The Silence of the Lambs' doesnt mean that the Movie does not have redeeming qualities in it.

So thats just a few of the reasons why I believe 'The Rich Jerk' is truly worthy of being in the IM Hall of Fame if there was such a thing. And those that knock it need to look take a step back and view RJ for what it is and how it relates to other genres in Life.

To me it was absolute BRILLANCE , whether you believe its creator is a douche bag or not !!

So guys lets here as to why or why not you think IM is better off with 'The Rich jerk' hanging around with a jack and coke in one hand and a hot smoking broad in the other you paltry low Lifes ??

Like I just said in that heated thread ... I bought that ebook. I'm not a gullible person by any means, but I love humor and satire and the ebook was cheap. I wasn't looking for a make money in your sleep business. I was merely intellectually curious, plus I'd been an entrepreneur for quite awhile already doing freelance work.

The ebook gave you access to the RJ forum. That was where the real value was. There were some great marketers in there, uninhibited discussions. I got great ideas and made some friends there. Learned a heck of a lot.

Laughed at many of RJ's emails. No one else could get away with that crap. Loved it. Don't get me wrong ... I didn't buy any of it. I didn't buy the template site, the coaching, any of the affiliate offers, but I loved reading those crazy emails anyway.

My first success online, other than freelancing was due directly to the participation in the RJ forum ... and all started because I bought that crazy little ebook. I've been successful online ever since.

I'm not much interested in hearing the moaning and groaning of people looking for a get rich quick scheme who are looking for a NO Work Method to Wealth, and then bi*ch because they bought the book but still aren't rich. If you're dumb enough to believe that exists, you'll get nothing out of any method or ebook you buy.

RJ's website and the forum were the beginning for me of learning what it really takes to make it online and I learned all that from people ... not an ebook.

    I think he's brilliant ... and cool.

I think Felix is about to take off is persona
like the band KISS did with their makeup.
Then in another ten years he will put the Rich Jerk back in action
because it made him much more money! LOL

Exactly how profitable was The Rich Jerk?

I'm pretty new to all of this - but I remember seeing him back in the early days of the interwebs...

I guess one can say that the rich jerk persona was new to internet marketing, but its laugable to say that he opened up options for other internet marketers such as Jon Cow. You need to realize that off the wall personas would exist regardless of the richjerk. Just look at show biz for example.

Seems like a BRILLIANT example of marketing and branding to me...whether you like the material or not, or appreciate the "persona" or not.

A "type" of marketing that could be emulated in any niche...potentially.

So..I would say that it belongs in the "Harvard Business Review" of IM (If we had one) as a case study for teaching.
