List Building - Which Autoresponder Should I Use? (Going For Aweber)

Hi there,

I am trying to set up an email marketing campaign / list building campaign. I know many people in the forum is using Aweber as their autoresponder/email marketing service.

However, I have noticed some people like Jack Duncan is using iContact. Is there anyone else using iContact and Aweber at the same time? ** Edit : How about Getresponse ?

Can anyone please let me know which one is better in terms of marketing and following up with my future prospect list?

As mentioned, I am going to send $5 to any warriors who is providing the most detailed comparison information about the 3 major autoresponder services which I have listed above. (Adam Bshero gave me the best answer, but he refuse to take the $5, so I gave it to someone else Thanks Adam)

Thanks in advance for any help provided

Aiden Chong

I will recommend Aweber and Getresponse.

However I am currently using getresponse and thurs I won't be switching over to aweber unless you are using twitter.

You could try both and figure out which suits you best - the pricing, fucntions, else. You wont lose anything as it is risk-free.

I knew how good is Aweber too. But I just want to look for an alternative at this moment. Anyway thanks for taking your time to reply.

Twitter is able to intergrate with aweber, which mean you could build your list through twitter as well. Refer to aweber or other sources for aweber tutorials.

Wow, didn't even know bout that! Thanks Calvin. Anyway, I have made my decision to go with Aweber now, and I think this would be the right choice.

Thanks for all of the suggestion given here! Any other insightful tips about iContact VS Aweber are most welcome.

I think that Aweber is great but there is another company that many of us here have been using and the company is called Getresponse.com.

They are very good and very affordable.

Just a recommendation for MadMimi.com, I currently use them with a list of 23K+ and never have a problem.

They don't have all the features that Aweber has but they do have many and they are a lot less money and you can start an account for free (up to 100 subscribers) BUT if you're creating an IM list, then never mind, it's best to go with Aweber.

Yeap, that's my plan too, my friend Already searching for some kind of coaching course geared towards to email marketing, and I will get things prepared beforehand for sure. Thanks for reminding me.

Ah, thanks for your words, michael-mac.

What I meant was, I wanted to search for an email marketing course (if it's available in the WSO section), so I can kick start everything regarding email marketing. It's not just a plain tutorial on how to use Aweber that I wanted. If the owner of the email marketing course is using Aweber, then it would be easier for me to follow him/her through Aweber too, I guess.. Isn't it? Sorry for the confusion though

Thanks for all of the response given, warriors...

I have been considering about getresponse too, but I wasn't really sure to go for it or not, since I have yet to use any autoresponder service before. Really appreciate if someone could give any other insightful tips about the few email marketing services which have been mentioned.

Michael-mac, thanks for your kind response. You know, price was one of the point that I would think about too. But in this case, like what you've mentioned, I'm creating an IM list, so I think it would be easier to get some sort of course (maybe a wso?) on how to use Aweber or Getresponse and use them like the one who teaches us.

So I think I might go with Aweber since they now have the $1 trial offer for the first month

@aiden I do use icontact. Their features are not as good as Aweber but I think it is much user friendly than GetResponse which I also use.

It is faster, easy to use, easy to see your tracking results and the only thing I dislike is seem they don't have a split test function like Aweber or Getresponse has.

Thanks for your insightful tips given, zoobie!

But there's one BIG differences between iContact and Aweber and that is the ability to upload an existing list.

If you starting from scratch this is not a big issue. If you have any type of existing list and you go with Aweber everyone on that list will have to opt-in again!

With iContact they do not have to opt in again. What's your take on this?

Anyway, I think I will go with Aweber since they are having a $1 for 30 days trial option

I've used all 3... I'm going to keep it short and simple for you, just go with Aweber.

The interface is extremely user friendly and the price is worth it.

Getresponse has too much clutter in my opinion, and icontact does not allow you to send unlimited emails. After 6 times your limit, they charge you per email.

      Aweber is the best autoresponder.

Aweber is more professional than Getreponse and Emailaces.

      Go for Aweber only.

Not sure about a WSO, but you might want to check out the review section to see what people say about "13 Sneaky Little Email Marketing Tricks" from Ryan Deiss. I remember seeing one of his vids and he does use Aweber throughout the course.

I suggest, you try Aweber, Get Response and iContact.
Bot aweber and getreponse have a $1 trial. I am not sure about iContact.
Then, listen to your heart, which one is easy.

One more thing, do you have mentor or attend any online marketing personal coaching or seminar?
If you do so, follow what your mentor did.

Anyway, better start now, don't put much time on thinking which autoresponder is the best and which is don't.

      Hi Kamil,

Thanks for your words. I will go with Aweber now, since I am in the last phase of creating my own product. So I have to dig up any information available, because once I'm in with a list of subscribers, I know it's hard to get out onto another services.

No I did not attend any sort of seminars and in fact, I am coaching someone else on a very small scale size.

I get what you meant by your last sentence but when I first started out, I did not take a closer look onto my web hosting service and finally I got fed up with that. So having my own due diligence online is one of the most important thing before subscribing to a service, in my humble opinion.

Again, thanks for all of your support, warriors. I am now having a clear mind on which service I should choose.

Well I think you're asking how to get started with List Building, Not Just the Autoresponder part- here you go
    1) Get Up a Free Gift Page
    2) Put it up on your Hostgator or other hosting
    3) Hooked Into Aweber Autoresponder
    4) Put free gift page in "JV Giveaway Events" (free) search Google
    5) Get up to 300 Subscribers

    6) Do Ad Swaps with Other Marketers- exchanging emails regarding each other's free gift page offers, to their lists- to build* each other's free- (you'll get to 2,000-3,000 within 2-3 months)

Further traffic methods- where to put the link back to your single free gift page:
    Blog Commenting
    Social Media
    Autoresponder Swaps
    Integration Marketing
    Press Releases
    Forum Marketing

To track what traffic sources are "working" and which ones aren't - so you can spend your time on the highest leveraged activities- just use Hypertracker (Google it) - You can simply have the one single free gift page, and in Hypertracker you create simple "tracking links" (that all forward to your single URL) which allow you to see how many clicks, actions (eg: Opt ins) etc- nice hey
