iS "COMMISSION CLONER" A GOOD PRODUCT TO TRY?

I just watched a call with Mark Ling, and Steve Iser promoting "Commission Cloner" I wanted to see if any one new anything about the product, and if it is any good? I am still a little green to affiliate marketing and wanted to see if this was a good product for some still new to the game. If this is not a good product can anyone give me an honest review of a good product they have used that they didn't have to sell the house to purchase.

Buy it and see for yourself. You can always get a refund. It does sound like it will work, but then again, I wouldn't recommend it for a new person just starting out. I've always believed it is best to learn the processes involved, then take shortcuts. Kind of like using a graphical web page editor without knowing the code behind it. Everything is fine until you need to edit it.

That said, a good (and by good I mean GREAT) affiliate marketing book (as in physical book) is the one by Ewen Chia. I find myself dipping into it as I go and it doesn't do what most of his sales pages do, and that is hype things up. Solid, step-by-step info.

Part of this is organization. And the best way I've seen to do that is with Affiliate Marketing War Machine, which is a very detailed way to organize each aspect of your affiliate marketing business. Really detailed and very very well done. It is put out by Mike McMillan a Warrior here.

I'd also love to hear from someone who has the program.

The intro video appeared to show a decent methodology.

What is the price of this product?

I just looked up Steve Iser on google and came across his blog site. It looks to be bare boned and lacking. Not what I expect from an IM that's making huge amounts of money. Couldn't he just hire somebody to update his blog?

I watched the video after about 4/5 attempts. Why do these marketers insist on putting up videos with no controls? It just pisses everybody off.. Much better to have a control where you can see roughly where you're up to and can then come back to it if you get called away or are just too busy right then..

Basically the guy doesn't say very much at all.. Do these people think we should all be impressed by photos of apartment blocks and cars that anyone could get from google?

In my view this "Telling a story about rags to riches" and "I couldn't put up a simple web page" script has been overplayed now. Why not say "I invented this method, it will achieve this, this and this and it will take 3 months but you should then see some income." and then go into some detail (obviously not give the whole show away) It might not be so "Cosby Show" but at least anybody serious about a business online would simply have to consider the facts given. I'll turn on the TV or read a book if I want a story.

Does anybody know anything else about this? Is there a recording of the webinar mentioned? (I guess the first 1/2 hour of that will need to be fast forwarded too to get past the self congratulatory crap)

      cheers.

I sent an email asking a simple question.

I got an autoresponse saying "I'm only answering Customer Support Enquiries" so he wants you to spend $500 and he's not even prepared to answer an email... let alone open up a dialogue..

bloody hell if thats the level of support he's offering maybe we should all stay clear..

Wow.....just wow....no way would I spend money like that if the product owner isn't even willing to answer pre-sales questions. I swear some marketers think that just because they're on the Interwebs that they don't need to act professional. If I went into BestBuy and they wouldn't answer my questions before I bought the product, you can bet I wouldn't buy from them. Same here. If he's doing that then frankly I don't care how awesome the product is supposed to be.

I joined this about 5 weeks ago and I can honestly say it is a great system.

Having said that here are a few thoughts (without revealing any details of the actual program).

#1 - Steve Iser is pretty well known in the IM industry - he has had a couple of successful launches & programs before, and also a big time CPA/affiliate marketer. He is also a pretty good trainer - the materials so far are excellent - video supplemented with actual creatives, squeeze pages, etc.

#2 - This is not a program for newbies. Although the video alludes that you do not need to have experience to be successful, you really do. Steve goes very fast in the video's and it does require you to have knowledge of Graphics creation/manipulation, html, etc - typical things most advanced marketers know.

#3 - It does require some money to make it all work. Not a ton of money because you can re-invest the profits you earn so a minimum of $200 but $500 would be better.

#4 - I think it is well worth the $497 IF you are at a level where you can invest a little money. The techniques he shows you are pretty awesome and they work really well.

If you have a specific question feel free to email me - I will try and answer them for you, however, I will not reveal any details of the system itself.

I'd email you but I don't have the required 20 posts...

If you bought it 5 weeks ago, did you pay $197? I saw it offered for that price earlier and when I tried to buy it, it had jumped to $497.

For $197 I was willing to take the risk, but $497 is steep. IF I felt comfortable that I could get a refund if I was dissatisfied I might spring for the higher price...

I have not bought it but have seen the contents, don't waste your money, you will be very disappointed, it can be summarised as: watch for ads you "think" are profitable based on some very basic assumptions then go run your own and see if they work, rinse and repeat, is this really worth $497, what am I missing.

I also think it is impossible to turn $50 into $5000 in 30 days as he claims, most networks take 30 days to pay so you are waitting at least 30 days just to make your 1st $50 even if you could do 100% ROI

Good luck to Steve if he is making $50,000/month but I'd really like to hear from someone who has repeated his performance after taking the course

Steve Iser came into IM fame through thelinkportal, a craigslist email scraper that became popular about a couple of years ago.
At the time, the product was being sold about 1200...

I've got this product, will probably put a review once I'm done with it and have time.

I have just watched the replay of Steve Iser's webinar with Mark Ling. Out of 105 mins there was only really 15-20 mins of 'live demonstration' that leaves more questions for me than answers - which would be understandable (as he is selling a course) but his method simply did not make any sense to me.

    This is because:

In this live demo, he went to some random site that had some sort of text ads.
These were affiliate ads with affiliate links. The ads were hosted through Adsonar. He looked at two different ads in the live demo and wanted to show how he looked up core traffic data, demographics, referral site data etc in relation to the target sites.
However, what I don't quite understand is this: The first ad had a direct link to the merchant landing page. He punched that into compete, quantcast and googleAdplanner and explained the data that came up on those sits as if it was in relation to that particular affiliate. However, this would comprise the traffic data etc from all over the web to this site, or not? He says 'look how long he has been running this campaign' while in fact it is the merchant who has this site up and running since that date showing, or not?
Also, when it comes to finding out how much the payout for this offer is for the affiliate, he makes an assumption that the header of the text ad (that leads to the offer) is the same as the offer name - he simply punches the name into Offervault as if it was a general rule that every text ad has its header promoting the exact name of an affiliate offer?
Then he goes on to find another ad that would lead to a presell page. The links on that page redirect to a domain WJADSERVER.com and he picks that, punches it into those into compete etc. and again talks about the data for that domain as if it was in relation to that particular affiliate's efforts. I don't know about that domain but it looks like an Affiliate Network's domain to me (?), so again how can he say the data is in relation to this particular advertiser (affiliate), that would simply have to be copied ('cloned') in order to become successful.

    Am I missing something...?

Wow - that is a strong statement, that would say a lot.

I think in general of Steve's pre-launch content (websites and webinars) that it is a lot of fluff and hype with plenty of extraterrestrial terms thrown in that turn out to be simple, sometimes commonly known things.

I'd still like to understand what Steve meant in the above mentioned webinar, with regard to conducting web site analysis for the pages that are ultimately the merchants' sites, not the affiliates' presell pages, yet he talks of the results as if they were based on the respective affiliates' efforts (and duration of their campaigns) - while I think the data would have to reflect the traffic and referral data etc from all over the web (all affiliates - not just that particular one using that one ad!) - has anyone got a clue, or am I missing something?

            I would too...

I'm embarrassed to admit that I paid for this. Look for long running ads and copy them is the gist.

The demo was misleading in that he covers compete.com as this fantastic tool, and insinuates there is much more depth about this technique that the demo doesn't go into. This was the hook that pulled me in. Trust me, if you see the demo, you've seen it all.

The free version of compete.com is not very useful and that is what he covers in the demo AND the 'course'.

I know my review is too late to help most, but I came up this thread by accident and had to give my input regardless.

Rolliesworld, I also had the same "red flags" pop up when he did this. Just because the domain is getting a lot of traffic, it doesn't mean that it's the result of any particular affiliate's efforts, or any specific Adwords campaign.

I felt that the Commission Cloner gave me just enough information to be dangerous....to my wallet..... but not enough step by step and PROVEN info to ensure that I would be successful with his strategies and techniques. For $27, I feel I got a lot more actionable training from Imran Naseem's Niche Dominion.

What I would have liked to see in the Commission Cloner is at least one LIVE campaign launched in a niche that was chosen by us, the affiliates. He could have deposited a few hundred $$ into an Adwords account, and allow us to see how much $$ was earned in relation to actual expenses, on a week by week basis.

I think I'll stick to WF's WSOs, because every one I bought here was VERY reasonably priced, and always OVERdelivered on content and quality. When you buy a newly-released product, you just don't have the benefit of being able to do your due diligence about the product on WF or other sites.

The course was ok, I did learn a few things. I learned alot about spying on ads from the PPC ninja course awhile back to.The principle is sound and I'd say most if not all super affiliates use the tactic to help short cut their way to finding winning campaigns.

Heres a really good video break down from a lesser known super affiliate where he breaks things down on how most of theses bigger guys make money. He could have sold the video as a product if he wanted to, it's that good.

    http://blog.mediatrust.com/2009/09/hamlet-batista-webinar/

Theres a course called Insider HQ that sold out not long ago ($997). It was the first IM course endorsed by clickbank itself. One of the main tactics taught in the course was how to properly spy on ads as much faster way to winning campaigns. Spying on what ads repeat over time is a strategy advertisers in all media have been using for many years. I actually had a tool developed to spy on banner ads and other types of display ads...(works on content network, facebook, ect..even banners on top of the warrior forum

I posted a link about it here as I was looking for feedback from fellow warriors.
