What is the best Autoresponder besides Aweber?

I am looking for the best autoresponder service besides aweber.

I need one that is not as expensive as Aweber, their system seems buggy also, I have a subsription with them but I believe I am leaving them soon...

  • If you want a (free) self hosted solution, I'd recommend this script: Infinite Responder - Free Autoresponder Script
Takes about 1-2 hours to customize correctly. Otherwise, you could try autoresponderplus. If you are looking for a subscription, try iContact (altnerative to aweber & getresponse

I would go with imnica if I where you, Im a customer and I think they are great. Someone once said the support is slow but all my support questions have been answered within the day.

Also the new update is looking really slick.

If you have feature requests you can send them in and they will take them into account and try to get them out for their customers if it's viable and will enhance their service.

Also Imnica is owned by a warrior.

Can anyone provide a comparison between TrafficWave and Imnica?

From this thread they both seem like good options?

        Any comments on deliverability rates?

I personally like TrafficWave. I used Aweber and does have some cool bells and whistles the TW doesn't, but TW has a great affiliate program and also charges a flat fee regardless of your list size.

I use two different options one is VereMail from Veretekk, one of the advantages of this is you have the autoresponder, all double opt-in, one price regardless of size of list, spam checker, etc etc. In addition its tied to a system you can use for SEO, backlinks, and lead generation if you choose to go that route.

You say you had a custom autoresponder built for yourself? How does that work? What is the cost? How detailed is the custom job? Is it a template of some sort or does it truly work just as you want it to?

Hello I guess if you say your the owner of this list wire program what's with having to ask permission of the referrals to send them emails hmm come on most are going to ignore that request hence why one has to send respnder to hopefully get them more info or convince them? I suppose its pay to to do that as no program for Free out there? A weber I'm sure you don't ask permission you use your referral list in your database to send them emails hmmm!! Doesn't matter either as looked at getresponse and they also only take CC grrr!!!

I'm honestly not sure what the question is here ...

What's with having to ask permission of the referrals to send them emails? If you're referring to double-optin ... that's pretty standard these days.

And, we're really free. You won't find an upgrade option, or anywhere to enter your CC info on the site ... as in, free.

I am using Alvin Phang's ShoutResponse which, so far, has proven to be very powerful and reliable. Just $10/month unlimited everything.

I just came across an open source autoresponder, however, which i have not tried yet but looks interesting. Being OS its completely free and doesnt look like it carries ads.

The site & walkthrough videos are professionally done and...here's the most interesting thing...it seems as though you can import your opt-in lists from other databases into it

Generally speaking, you get what you pay for in this life.

In business, cheap can turn out to be expensive, very quickly.

If you're on a tight budget, then AWeber is probably the best
      option available IMO.

AWeber starts from only $19/month so it's relatively easy to
at least cover your costs if you know what you're doing.

        Hi Gary

I'd like to try your ListWire service out however, before I do so, I have some questions - but I can only get these responded to if I have an account with ListWire ... hhmm. Would it be OK for me to ask you the questions here as it may help others too?

        - I have a small list of about 80 names that have opted in (and continue to opt in) to get my FREE ebook download on one of my websites. I need to be able to import that list into ListWire - is that possible and how does that work as I've never done this before myself?

        - For this FREE download ebook, I will need to change some coding on my WP website or will I, if I change AR providers? It's been a while since I did this :-).

Thanks in advance for your reply!

          Hello,

Sorry, no imports at List Wire ... just not possible. You can only add up to 10 people per day. This could be a HUGE source of abuse at a free system, so we're not allowing imports.

As for updates to your form ... just create a new one with us, drop it into your site, and you should be good to go.

            NEGATIVE POINT.

In my case: I will not lose my webstore costumers because I can not export them from my system to another.

              POSITIVE POINT - We're Free.

If you need to import people into your autoresponder system, we're not for you ... List Wire is designed for people looking to build their own lists, and as stated above, the reason for not allowing imports is to prevent abuse.

No one is saying you need to lose your customers, that's why there are a lot of autoresponder options out there ... if you NEED to import prospects, then you NEED to pay for an autoresponder.

That said, if you're not importing prospects ... we have you covered.

I'm amazed that no one here has thought of Imnica Mail, run by our own Richelo Killian. Aweber gives you 500 leads for $20. But it ramps up significantly from there. For 10000 you're paying $60/month. With Imnica, 10000 leads costs you $15 a month. And they offer a $1 trial. Emails get through, the interface is getting redone and support is excellent. I know that aWeber is the "big dog" but just because it is biggest don't make it the best.

just my $.02. And I've also signed up for Listwire (why not right? best to have multiple services just in case). The Interface is similar to Email Aces, and it is quite easy to use.

You can import from another service to Imnica provided you have the IP info. And you have a choice of double opt-in (i.e. they sign up but must still confirm) or single opt-in (they sign up, they're signed up), so I think if I understand your message, that Imnica is definitely something that will help you. And they have a $1 free trial as well.

If you already have a list and the ip info, then you will have no problem importing to Imnica, and your list won't have to resubscribe as with some other services. It is free. Of course if you mean importing a list that you bought, then no, and that is the same with other services as well. Regarding the emails, you have the choice of setting when they get sent out in minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, etc. And you are able to track open and click rates as well.

I know that aWeber is the "big dog" but just because it is biggest don't make it the best.

just my $.02. And I've also signed up for Listwire (why not right? best to have multiple services just in case). The Interface is similar to Email Aces, and it is quite easy to use.

In a near future I think I will try it.

I don't know why... but when you talk about AWeber... looks we are talking about the BRAND.. not only what it can do BETTER than others.

You will pay 600% more there only because its brand?

I think what everyone here want is that their emails arrive to the client. Only this. Maybe a good report.

We really need to have good alternatives.

In this forum we have 2 members that work with this. And they are here for a long time.

Maybe, in a near future, they could give a promotional code for us... to make test for 2 months or to pay a little less. Just a suggestion.

Tried getresponse before, after using the expensive but good service of aweber. I switched to trafficwave since they are very reliable. The free trial for 30 days is more than enough to convince anyone to continue with their service.

    I'm another Imnica Mail fan.

Well worth a try. It's a pretty flexible option,
and the support is 1st rate. Free trial means
you can find out for yourself - better than
reading any comments on a forum

Im really happy with Get Response, but I'm looking at Traffic Wave at the moment, not sure if TrafficWave has single optin tho.

I just did a google search of autoresponders. Right now, there are about 4.5 million results for autoresponders. Lots of them appear to be offering service. There isn't going to be anyone who is the best. Perhaps a list of ones to avoid would be more useful?

    Hey Everyone,

I started trying to answer my own questions this morning. I set up a new blog: www.autoresponderhell.blogspot.com
I tried to gather as many autoresponders as I could under one roof. I will work on it more as time permits.

I am getting to over 200k with my Getresponse account and they are forcing me up to their Enterprise versions which costs $1000 per month! It got me thinking. I have some excellent software from active campaign called 12all. It has every feature you can imagine.
You might do well to get a VPS server and put that script up. Instead of spending $1000. per month with Getresponse I could get 5 VPS servers at $100. each and 5 licenses for the software and have very low mailing volumes on each server keeping the ips really clean. Food for thought. The software is first rate.

I use 12all as well and it it's great. I'm using it on a dedicated server and while I had to invest around $500, It paid itself on the 1st month

Services like Aweber and Getresponse are really great for beginners. They are easy to use and are cheap for small lists.

For large lists, 12all or similar products are the way to go.

Hmmm.. Nobody mentioned List-zilla Their concept is flat rate pricing. $27.00 gets you 10k emails per month forever. Or, $27.00 PLUS $19.95 per month for unlimited everything. Similar feel to Aweber and all the bells and whistles too. Check it out. Look in my signature page for the link.

I signed up with imnica based soley on the recommendations in this thread and it was a huge regret because of the amount of time wasted on it. Compared to other autoresponders I have used like Aweber and Trafficwave which will have you up and running within 20 minutes I spend many frustrted hours trying to figure out how to set up a basic campaign.

There is so much jargon and options which dont make any sense. There are people on the forum asking the same questions because its so complicated like how to forward to a url after somebody opts in and where to find the email templates instead of starting blank when setting up your confirm email. Simple things like that should be easier to sort but we are just told they are in the settings somewhere. Its been nearly a month and I have still not figured out the above.

The optin form is very basic and not easily customised eg you cant change the text on the subscribe button. There are numerous videos all of which I have watched that leave you with more questions than answers. How somebody can make a programme so user unfriendly is beyond me. I am not here to savage the programme but I am genuinely annoyed at having spent so much time trying to use it and getting nowhere. Yes its cheap but stay away if you want to keep your sanity.

On a plus side we are promised a major update is coming soon so I will hang on till then and if its not improved Im hitting the unsubcribe button.

      Dave,

MANY of our customers have the complete opposite view to yours. The love the system, and the flexibility it offers.

      Addressing some of your comments...

Forwarding to a URL: Click on list name --> Click on website integration --> click on settings --> setup your urls.

Confirmation emails: We will provide a default opt-in template shortly. We tried to make this as configurable as possible as we have MANY non-English customers.

Opt-in form is basic so as to allow you to do whatever you want with it in HTML. We give you the basic form, and you can make it as pretty as you want using just some basic HTML. We will provide some tutorials on this.

Subscribe button. This is one of the easiest ones...

Look for this line in the signup form code: <input type="submit" name="FormButton_Subscribe" value="Subscribe" id="FormButton_Subscribe">

The part where it says: value="Subscribe"

Change the word between the " " to whatever you want it to say.

The new version is launching on 2 May 2010. It will be a MASSIVE upgrade not only to interface, but, to features as well.

      Hi sarahberra,

I'm gonna make it clear...Aweber and Trafficwave are autoresponder.

An autoresponder is a computer program that automatically answers e-mail sent to it. They can be very simple or quite complex.
The first autoresponders were created within mail transfer agents that found they could not deliver an e-mail to a given address. These create bounce messages such as "your e-mail could not be delivered because..." type responses. Today's autoresponders need to be careful to not generate e-mail backscatter, which can result in the autoresponses being considered E-mail spam.

Autoresponders are often used as e-mail marketing tools, to immediately provide information to their prospective customers and then follow-up with them at preset time intervals.

Such follow-up autoresponders can be divided into two categories:
Outsourced ASP model -- these autoresponders operate on the provider's infrastructure and are usually configurable via a web-based control panel. The customer pays a monthly usage fee. This is easiest to implement for the end-user.

Server-side -- enables users to install the autoresponder system on their own server. This requires technical skills.

Autoresponders are also incorporated into electronic mailing list software, to confirm subscriptions, unsubscriptions, posts, and other list activities.

I'm using Imnica & GVO Eresponder Pro , and I like Imnica better (Great Prices and Great Deliverability Rate), GVO always go to spam folder (for Yahoo) and they don't provide the IP's / Date Stamps when we want to export our list.. that's not good cause most of mailing services always ask IP stamp when we want to import our list to their system.
The good thing about GVO you can get autoresponder along with reseller hosting (WHM) and easy video producer for $44/mo

Also, looking forward to using the social media features. I haven't noticed the problem with the browser.
