I'm more interested to see if there's any upsells.

I know it's an important aspect as a marketer to increase your margins, etc.. but it p*sses me off as a customer. I mean, it's annoying as hell!

Now, I'm releasing a product in about 2 weeks and I'm currently working on a video sales letter.. so this is PERFECT TIMING for me. $197 is a drop in the bucket.. but seriously - if I get it and there's a 100/mo continuity, a 497 upsell, and another 1997 upsell on the backend.. i won't be responsible for my actions ;-)

Don't get me wrong - I'll pay $2999 for a good product (and I have). But the snake oil salesmen thing is killing my patience ;-)

(Even my product is going to be $997. But EVERYTHING is going to be included.. You want a 'lower price'? How's monthly payments? hehe)

(OK END OF RANT)

So does anyone know more about this product or about the backend sales process (if any)?

I probably wrote one of those reviews mentioned above and as an affiliate I obviously have a financial interest in convincing you to buy.

This is a product I've been waiting for a long time.

Ryan Deiss is a master at selling by video and you just need to watch his videos for this together with Facebook Ad Power, GMail Advertising etc to realise what a good and effective process he has.

What I liked about it is that Ryan didn't hold back. Instead he laid it all out so you can see what he's doing and why.

The program, is quite short and I see that as a good thing. No time wasting fluff.

It means you can watch, write your script and watch it again in the time many IMers would take to present the info.

It is very concise and you'll take plenty of notes - I know I did.

He also banished a few of those thoughts that may be stopping you from producing sales videos. There are also supplementary videos for the techie stuff.

I've been so tempted for so long but I get frightened off by the complexity and all the fancy bells and whistles you see in some marketing videos.

Very nice when you can do the clever stuff but it's not me.

It's only after I watched this program that I realised Ryan doesn't do any any of that stuff and his videos sell a trainload.

Yes there are upsells - there always are for Ryan's low-end products.

It's worth knowing that this is included in the Total Access Club that's $97/month.

Simple, because it DOES increase the profits every time ...

I could honestly care less what you think as an individual, because that doesn't really matter ... and, if you're basing your marketing on what "you" think, and not on the numbers, then you might be calling yourself a marketer, but you're really not.

And, although the overwhelming majority of WF members seem to think they're an average representation of the clients of most of the "major players", they're not. Not by a long shot.

Seeing 20 people on a forum saying "I hate long videos", or "I hate upsells", or "I can't stand guru launches" means absolutely nothing ... videos are outperforming sales letters, the "guru" launches are making more money than ever, and to bring it all back home ... upsells add money to the bottom line.

I agree with Gary. People use upsells because they work.

If you don't want to use them in your own business, then don't. If you disagree with them on moral grounds, then don't use them.

You'll make less cash, but it's not always just about the cash.

It's your choice - but don't whine about it!

I found a way to get this program for $1 by getting into Ryan's Total Access Club. Word on the street is that it is closed down but I found a link and had no problem. I am totally psyched to be in TAC because I think Ryan is one of the best marketers I've seen. I even like it when he sells to me (through these videos he's teaching us how to do). The only thing I don't like are his price points... but hey, the guy gets conversions and has a massive list and plenty of JV partners... so why wouldn't he? Plus, the two trainings of his that I've seen have been excellent (13 sneaky little email tricks and Video Sales Letter Formula). I am very excited to learn more of the training he has in the members area. I may even stay a member for $97/month (imagine that!)

Anyway, to my review of VSLF. Straight up, an amazing product. One of the best I've seen. I was blown away by 13SLET and it has helped me for sure, but this one may be even better. There's just so many ways this is going to save me money and make me money it's insane. Summary of those...

1) No need to spend thousands on a copywriter anymore
2) No need to wait weeks for sales letters to be done
3) Conversions will undoubtedly be much better

What I like the most about Ryan's stuff is he TESTS like a madman. Everything is based on experience and well, I trust him. This formula is absolutely brilliant and I can't wait to put it into action. If you're on the fence for $197, I'd say get it. But better yet, I'd say become a TAC member. The kind of information you will learn for $1 is absolutely absurd. I know I'll look back in some time and really appreciate what Ryan (and his team) have done for my business.

It's not a loophole. Ryan knows very well that he makes more money in the long run getting people into his continuity program than he does selling the products one time. Not to mention, when he releases something that is not included in his club, you bet that he's going to have more buyers because of TAC, considering how good his stuff is. If Ryan were on this thread and could chime in, I bet he'd tell you, "go ahead and sign up for $1!"

FYI, price point is still $97 (at least that's what I'm in the system for and I signed up yesterday)

I've been through this training and it is very good and very detailed. They provide templates for the video sales letters, a 'magic button script' how to host the videos etc. All in all it's a detailed course with video demos on the mechanics of setting everything up.

Ryan is upfront and will say though that there is not a one size fits all but gives his suggestions on what to include/test etc. Now I won't say that a video sales letter will always outperform a text sales letter. But in my mind is worth testing or you'll never know if it will work for you in your particular market.

Also I have a niche market with a decent sales letter that is not converting very well so I will be testing a video sales letter :-)

So my final verdict is if you want to try a video sales letter this training is well worth the investment and I liked the detail including all the demo videos and templates etc.

if anyone likes that 'magic button' with the time delay you can find it for free online. I did some searching just for that software and found it for $27. Then I chanced upon a report that showed the software code (it's a mere couple lines) and I installed and tried it. It works fine. It pops up whenever you need it.

if you want just that code, I would love to share it with you....yes for free.

I don't own the video sales letter product but.......my recent experience is that a video sales letter.....massively outperforms a text sales letter.

Actually....when I first started all this stuff 5 years ago...I always thought of the www as a multiple channel tv station.

Can you imagine tv ads that were just text?? Would they convert?.....I don't think so.

Is Total Access Club now $197/month?

If you can find a trial then DEFINITELY go for it (it's usually an upsell) as you also get access to all the older products (e.g. Gmail Advertising, Sneaky Email Tricks, etc)

I don't know what's Ryan's upsell is about, but it usually is like the #2. So I don't think you'll get mad.

Dude, this is a perfect explanation. We see upsells in every selling environment and often take them (fries and a soda)! The upsell needs to be complimentary to the front-end product, not actually be the real product.

I've been thinking of purchasing VSL so thanks for all the info. I just wanted to know if this product is worth the time and not just a rehash of some other existing product or a bunch of theory that may or may not work.

Have you seen any results yet from VSL

I haven't seen other products like it. Can't say if they exist or not.

Haven't implemented yet. Plan to do so very soon.

Only way to tell if it works is to try. Each VSL is going to be different. Even the best strategy poorly executed will not work.

  I just purchased this with the coupon code for under $20. I'm very happy. Well worth $19 USD - lots of good stuff in there. I certainly wouldn't pay $190 odd for it though. Not given the plethora of high-quality WSOs available these days.

Record a powerpoint / screencapture video...place on single squeeze page...ta-da?

I mean the delayed order button script can be found online easily...and any decent copywriter can make sure the video is appealing...

Am I missing something that makes the product worth $200?

Yea, you're missing a lot. It's a strategy, not just the tech stuff. Besides, there's a lot more tech issues to work out than what you just mentioned. It's definitely worth $200, no ifs ands or buts.

Yeah, apparently we are all missing a lot since Ryan came out with an actual sales letter for his very next campaign with NO video at all, right after saying in this one, that "sales letter were dead, and they just don't work anymore".

I think I am really OK with missing out on this.

I actually bought it not to long ago, I'm rather impressed with it.
He even gives you a couple of templates, and the script as well.
I'm not a fan of writing "sales copy" so I was automatically intrigued
by what he had to offer.

Great thread, and I know it's a bit old now but...

Why did no one post a link to this "loophole" that may or may not have been closed at this point? Or am I missing it?

I'm interested in test driving Ryan Deiss's total access club, and if it helps me kill it on my upcoming launch, then I'll be happy to stay on as a member.

I just wanna say something quick.

Although I'm a HUGE fan of video salesletters...

THEY DO NOT INCREASE CONVERSIONS EVERY SINGLE TIME

Usually - yes. Everytime - no.

With that said... guys, it's only $197. Just get it, try it out with your own business. If it doesn't work - it's a tax write-off (or you can refund it). It if does work... you're gonna make a ton of extra money.

I also bought it and thought it was worth the money. Does it increase conversions? Well, you know that is such a loaded question. It did increase mine, but not by much. It certainly didn't explode them to "3%-9%" But like any sales formula, there are a 100 things that go into a successful page. Be it video, or copy. I did use his formula, but found for my audience, 25 minutes was too long. I also ended up using copy underneath the video and gave the price right away without having to make people wait for it. My point is, he could have the greatest sales video on earth, but it has to be adapted to your audience. Which means you're back to testing, testing, testing. He also had a great section on up sells.

All in all though I was happy with his product.

While the Total Access Club has closed, it has been superceded by the Digital Marketer Lab and that includes a number of Ryan Deiss's products including the Video Sales Letter Formula.

I really do need to do a split-test sales letter of Andy Jenkin's-style "Boss" videos vs Deiss' videos to see which converts better (Deiss claims "fancy" videos don't do as well as plain text)

That being said, if you look at Deiss' new video (for this Digital Marketer program) you'll see he goes back and forth between text-only AND slides with moving images etc.

If you stay all the way ti the end of the "Digital Marketer", he appreciates you listening to all his experts for that long and drops it to $97 a month instead of $197/MONTHLY Everything is changing but doesn't talk about curating sites!!!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who opens another window so I can do something else more important, like check old email accounts - then when the video ends go back. How does that effect the testing?

That back and forth seems to be a late trend in sales videos in the IM niche. In our tests between text only VS images/fancy stuff videos, the text only outperformed big time...this was in health/beauty niche though.
