Web Hosting for Multiple Domains/sites- any suggestions?

For me, Hostgator is one of the best when it comes on hosting multiple sites, I have been using it for a long time in hosting my sites and it works perfectly to me.

yeah i agree. I have hostgator (only single site though) and have liked it ever since. Not sure if I should go through all the switching or hosts though. Anyone have insight of what they think of Bluehost?

Yeah I agree with Jamian, hostgators cheap and there customer service is awesome. I've read bluehost is pretty good to though

Yeah...I agree with everyone else...I've had a reseller account with Hostgator, for years, and I wouldn't think of changing.

And HG's support has always been helpful and fast.

I've had a few reseller hosting accounts but my latest and best so far is D9 Hosting.

Use the .com for worldwide sites or the .co.uk if your sites are mainly for UK visitors.

Highly recommended.

I have one more question that has been confusing me. With all these web hosting accounts are saying that they give unlimited disk space and unlimited bandwidth, why do so many people talk about saving or making files smaller so that they don't run up a huge bill?

I mean is it really unlimited? If so, whats the problem and how does a larger file size cost anyone more money?

I was in the same confusion when I started three years ago.
The filesize ist kept low, because the pages load faster, and the customer is not mooving to the next domain, while my big website tries to load. That is one of the reasons why very small splashpages are created. Google also checks hzow fast a page loads. If it takes to long, you are downgraded.
Finnaly:
the company like you has the right to cancel the contract and certainly will do it, when your bandwidth is slowing your server down.
One mor thing to keep in mind when it comes to hosting and you want to create more than 10 Websites is whether they ar allo hosted on the same server and IP Class so Big G can easily find out that and how they are connected.

Bluehost and Hostgator are owned by the same company. As a result, I'd presume that both would have the same type of customer service.

I have an account at Hostgator, am very satisfied.

Sorry I am late:
They offer "unlimited", sign you up.
You will not reach the limits for a long time and that means a nice Profit for them.
If your traffic gets too high, they will talk to you to get an upgrade.
If you do not agree they just cancel your contract.
Depending on their TOS that could mean, that you have to move all your domains to a new host very fast....

I was with Hostgator but switched after having major issues with server downtime that they were not notifying me of, bad technical support, etc.

Some people have had great service from Hostgator, however unfortunately my experience with them was awful.

I now avoid the 'unlimited' bandwidth hosts simply because too many of them overload their servers. Also, the more customers you have, the greater the demand will be for customer support, and the technical support staff that I dealt with were untrained, and rather than say 'I don't know' they would just try to make up a reason for why something was not working.

After shifting to Quality Host Online I have nearly fallen over in shock at how well trained and helpful their support is. If your focus is on getting a good, reliable service with excellent customer support then I highly recommend Quality Host Online.

I use Hostgator and I have to say their customer service is exceptional. It is available 24/7 and they have even called me when a problem popped up one one of my domains. Important when this is your business.

I use Just Host but in my case it was limited to one domain - I tried adding another domain and was asked to upgrade....not happy. I am currently looking at Hostgator and for multiple domains and reseller account. I will let you guys know how I go

I plan on creating a large number of websites. I'm considering using Hostgator. What determines if I should get a reseller account? Is selling a website easier with a reseller account? If I started with a non-reseller account could I later transfer the websites to a reseller account? I heard this is difficult if not impossible to do.

not what I am aware of, always chat with a live support person if you aren't sure though. don't get too tech though otherwise it starts to become difficult for them, they only get trained to a reasonable level lol...

if you are running a mailinglist be careful with hostgator though, there is a 500 per hour limit with their reseller/ individual a/c

you can purchase vps to get around this but only if it's VPS level 3 or above, not cheap though, check out the price tag though, level 1 and 2 vps have no GUI all command line lol...

unless you know how to set up an email server lol.......
