I thought this was an interesting product from Jonathan Leger, an excellent software programmer.

I am kind of trying to envision how to use it though with Market Samurai. If anyone watches the video and has MS, let me know what you think.

    Hi Marty,

Keyword Snatcher indeed a nice keyword mining Software

I have got my copy too.
The way I use it for the moment is:
    1. Mine for related keywords with Keyword Snatcher, Copy the result into clipboard
    2. Plug all of the result into either Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai
    3. Check if any of keywords has decent search with decent competition
    4. Create an article, post over my niche sites or create new sites based on that keywords if the keywords are good enough

Note: From my test, I found that there's several keywords that has less local search, but as long as it get decent global search, I'll go for it.
If it has lower number of search < 1500/month, but has very low competition, I might still go for it. Write an article rather than site preferably.

Keyword Snatcher is not sold anymore, you may want to check out a new software that do something like what KeywordSnatcher do here : http://www.flashkeywordminer.com/

I bought it and did a couple keyword searches. Plugging the results from KS into Micro Niche Finder gives you the same results as if you used the Google KWT. However, I took the time to check out the competition for all those keywords that MNF brought back as "Not Enough Data" for local or global searches. But as Bimawarrior said, you can get some keywords with decent search volume.

Be careful about relying on Google's AdWords Tool search counts. I've run some tests and many keywords the AdWords Tool says are getting "less than 10" searches globally per month actually generate hundreds of searches a month or more.

I've been testing this with AdWords. It was a real eye opener for me how many impressions and clicks I was getting for terms Google said got no traffic.

[added]Once recent example the Google AdWords Tool said gets 110 searches per month globally, but I'm only targeting the US and Canada and have gotten 146 searches in less than 2 weeks. So monthly just between US/CA it's getting three times what AdWords suggests.[/added]

I guess what Jonathan is saying we have to assume there are more searches than what the GWT brings back. I can live with that. But if we are using Micro Niche Finder, we don't have a search count to go by, so we will filter out these keywords. What I noticed, though, is the competition is pretty low for many of these phrases with "Not Enough Date". So, perhaps it would be wise to include them in a site anyway.

I have also tested this and found this statement to be true. I've had keywords that didn't just say "not enough data to give estimates" in the Adwords tool, but flat out didn't even appear, that are now responsible for a hundred visitors per month or more per keyword to certain sites of mine.

Keyword Snatcher doesn't need to be used in conjunction with Market Samurai in my view. Use the keywords you find with it as the basis for new content, new rankings and new traffic - that's it.

Hmmm.... There is no traffic or competitive data, so how then do you choose such words to compete for? Are you suggesting to blindly pick from the list?

I was under the assumption that this data needed to be plugged into another program.

Google Suggestor is similar and free, but only scrapes Google's suggestions, not Yahoo or Bing. Also lacking a few other capabilities, like spinning keywords, and adding new keywords to your existing list.

Has anyone tried and compared both of these tools?

          Hey Marty,

Good questions. I think there are a few relevant points:

          1. The fact that alot of Adwords Keyword Data is quite inaccurate anyway means that alot of the time, publishing content on keywords that you've found to have traffic potential with a tool like Market Samurai doesn't end up bringing near as much traffic as you estimated anyway. So compared to that, this technique (of publishing content on keywords that don't show traffic data) doesn't fair much worse in my testing.

          2. Like Jon mentions in his videos, some of the keywords from Keyword Snatcher we know get more traffic than others. In Google Suggest, (when you type a keyword in to Google and watch the search suggestions appear) the higher a keyword ranks on the list, the more searches it gets. So when you have a keyword from KS that you want to publish content on, you can enter one of it's base keywords into GS and see how high up it ranks. Loosely speaking, the higher up it is, the more traffic you may be likely to get.

          3. If you're smart, you can use the content you publish on these new keywords not only to bring new direct traffic from the search engines (from those terms) but to improve the rankings of your other pieces of content for their keywords.

          4. Regarding competition, the thing is that because most of these keywords don't show up in the normal Adwords tool, or Wordtracker, their competition is extremely low. Most marketers and webmmasters haven't known of them or tried to optimize for them yet. So you can generate rankings extremely easily, often without even link building (in my tests) so it's not a big commitment of time or energy to pick up traffic from these terms.

Excuse the lengthy response but I hope that helps!

Andrew makes a great point about the Google k/w tool, but that seems to be a fairly common issue amongst all the major k/w out there that are providing different data for the same set of keywords. It does make you wonder which one is truly the most accurate, a point that would be difficult to prove so I guess you have to mix some science with your gut and go with the tool of your choice.

IMO Jonathan's products have all outperformed expectations for me. Keyword Snatcher is just another in his line of products that helps IMer's think out of the box.

Keywords I got back from KS come back in the 100's and its not that hard to build lists of 1000's.

I found you could find keywords in "blocks" of niche related searches. Some are found in Googles keyword tool...some are not. I'm far from the expert most of you are but I've found that phrases with 100 to 500 searches per month don't register on the google tool sometimes and as competition gets tougher and tougher these long tail keywords bring in nice steady traffic. Best part is KS only dumps out words as they are typed in the search box in Google Bing and Yahoo.

Will be interesting to see how these keywords perform. Jonathan seems to be always improving his products and I would expect the same with this one.

Just my opinion....but I like it

I made a youtube video....might help some of the newer people understand what it does:

I too purchased Keyword Snatcher today from J. Leger. I think it is an excellent tool for finding unique long-tail keywords and will make an excellent companion to MS or Micro Niche Finder (which I have). Keyword Snatcher is not a Be-All-End-All keyword tool, and I don't think it was intended to be. A good mechanic has many tools in his toolbox, not just one tool. Same applies here, and for $47 I think it is well worth the money.

    Just my 2 cents,

Oh Marty, you're right, of course.

It's not like you should stop analyzing keywords from the Adwords tool or anything, or you should ONLY use keywords you find from Keyword Snatcher.

It's just a little strategy to ADD to your arsenal in my view.

Form a PPC viewpoint this tool is awesome and will definitely save me loads of time. I have been using the suggested search features for Google Yahoo and Bing for quite a while now. I use it to get ideas for markets that are untapped, but where people clearly are searching for something (why else would it appear there) and also for getting more long tail keywords and ideas that other keyword tools just don't return.

Also, from a PPC standpoint. I don't really care how much traffic each one gets. some get a lot and some get very little.

If you SEO guys want to know which ones in the list will bring hte most traffic, just dump all the keywords into a PPC campaign, bid low so your ad won't get as many clicks and waste your money. Set a low daily budget like 10 or 20 dollars and just wait to see which get the most impressions. Make sure to exact match though or your impressions data will be skewed by many broad matched and perhaps irrelevant search phrases.

I agree about the PPC use. If you have people searching for these words that the 'other' tools aren't returning, then you are getting clicks with pretty much no comp. which leads to less expensive traffic.

I'm sure there are several ways, but the idea I've been having is to use keyword snatcher and build a huge list of long tail keywords. Then put all the data KS gives me into an excel file and sort the keywords buy their rank in the Google suggestor tool.

First i'll sort the google column by ascending rank and take anything ranked 1, 2, & 3 as those probably get more searches per month. You could obviously go deeper if you wanted, but I think just taking the top 2 or 3 will likely result in finding low competition keywords with decent search volume.

I would then repeat the process by sorting the yahoo and Bing columns as well.

Once I have these then dump them into MS and see what the SEO competition and SEO title competition are. If market samurai give me search data too thats great, but I wouldn't really be focusing on that as MS pulls its search data straight from the google keyword tool and obviously those numbers aren't always accurate.

The whole point here to find the keyphrases that people are obviously searching for (hence the high rank in the google suggestor tool) and use MS to quickly analyze whether or not you could get an article to rank.

KM = $39 and still on the market

At first I wondered if it was someone ripping of KS but I noticed they had some of the features before KS rolled them out. But JL is well respected and his software is always being updated regularly whereas we know nothing about the people behind the KM.

But I hate being told I have 7 days to buy or forget it. The excuse for this is usually because they don't want market saturation yet here we have an alternative doing exactly the same for $8 less. So that argument doesn't hold water. But it's one helluva marketing ploy!

I just ran Micro Niche Finder this morning after running Market Samurai last night.

I can't even get through the whole thing without getting banned or having to put in captcha.

Those of you who have KS...are you getting banned at the same rate or is this tool intuitive in figuring out google.

Unfortuneately, I don't know outside of the settings on the program how to set them up so that I don't get banned by running them. This for me, renders them quite useless.

I am not complaining about the tools. They are great. I just don't want to spend another $47 on a keyword tool that is going to get banned. The only reason I would even consider this is that some people that I respect (i.e. Andrew, cypherslock and others on the testimonial page) seem to speak highly of it AND because the Best Spinner lived up to the hype.

CT - I'm going to buy Keyword Snatcher in a few minutes and I plan on using it with Micro Niche Finder, too.

I've had the same problem as you with Micro Niche Finder lately but there's a new upgrade out that may solve your problems. It did for me, anyway, and let me tell you, I was getting pretty irritated.

Also, check your Search Engine Courtesy settings on the home page. If you set it to maximum, you run less of a risk of being temporarily banned. It will take longer to do the job but start it when you're taking a break and go watch NCIS or Law & Order or something.

And don't do a dozen searches in a row. Even at maximum courtesy settings, Google will smite you.

Charles, I've been running it for 2 days and not having any problems with Google. Actually the only captcha I had to enter was after I got done with the KS and did some manual searches...... when going manual Google asked me to verify with a captcha.

I was actually using Keyword Snatcher and Niche Taser (by Austin Delaney). In fact in some of the above posts some people were complaining about the fact that KS lacks definitive search and competition data. Well, Niche Taser....a $17 program easily comes to the rescue....just dump your Keyword Snatcher keywords into Niche Taser and you can get search, competition and allintitle.

I did a quick youtube video on how to use both applications .....might help a few people. The video has a link at the end for KS...hope it doesn't offend anyone and the niche taser links are not affiliate links.

            Hi Brad,

I tried it already and it really works as fast as lightning! My bad, I just got my KS without knowing that KE2.0 has its own feature of that

            Thanks Brad

No problem. Jon's tool does a bit more with that specific feature, so I'm sure it'll still help :-)

Hi Brad, you're right that's why I never hesitated on buying Jon's KS.

Just came across the tool but it's currently not available for purchase. Will this ever be sold again?

I really like this tool and as a self-professed "keyword junky" it's certainly in the front of the pack. I have had no problems with Google and it works great with Market samurai.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned here is that using these keywords can really help boost your LSI in blog posts and articles.

My question is, "What is the difference between Jonathan's Keyword Snatcher and Jonathan's Niche Horde?"
