A lot of the dual cameras these days are equipped with HD video. The panasonic series Lumix are really nice. I paid $299.99 (I used bing cash back), the video on it is amazing with lots of control for different settings control. If your a newbie leave it on auto, but the Lumix come with lots of manual settings as well.

If you have the money, get the Canon 7D Doesn't hurt to have a cam to shoot pics if you have a site with content. I like to use fresh quality pics never seen on Flickr or google for my articles. So having a combo deal is very cool to look into. Unique photos can attract a click just as good as a unique title.

When I make a video, I use 1 of 4 cameras - the canon PowerShot SX20 IS, canon 750, canon D10 and the JVC Everio.

The Canon PowerShot SX20 IS films in 720p HD video in .mov foramt, takes pictures up to 12 megapixel and takes AA batteries. The AA batteries is a really nice feature - when your out filming for long periods of time, you can keep replacement AA batteries in stock, instead of expensive lithium batteries.

The JVC Everio films in wide screen and is not HD, films in .mod format. The Everio does not take very good still pictures. When I bring this camera, I have to bring a point and shoot for stills. The menu is touch screen, and there is no one touch button for the light. If you want to turn on the light, you have to go into the menu. It has a good zoom, and it does well in low light.

Canon 750 - its no longer made, films in 640X480 at 30 frames a second in .avi format and takes pictures up to 7 megapixel.

Canon D10 - waterproof down to 32 feet, films in 640X480 in .mov format and takes pictures up to 12 megapixel. This is the camera I bring when the weather is bad, or I'am going out in the boat.

You didn't mention what you wanted this camera for. Do you need a camera that'll make videos for Youtube and your site(s) and that's all? Are you planning on ever making a video product, like a training product? If you are strictly going for your site and other video sharing sites, go with a Flip cam or one of it's competitors. Whatever one you get, make sure the camera has 2 things:

      1. Microphone input - Believe it or not, sound is more important in your video than the actual images. You can always fix an image mistake with editing, you screw up sound and can't go back to fix it (testamonial for example) it's very hard to correct in editing.

      2. High Definition - You should not be doing anything in Standard Definition any more. Even Youtube accepts HD content. Use it, it looks better and adds to your credibility.

Now, if you plan on one day in the not so distant future making a video product to sell, don't use the Flip cam. You will need something a little better such as the Canon Vixia line. What's nice about these is there's no tape to capture into your computer, it's all files. And, with a better camera you cover both options. You can make products and/or videos to drive traffic. Whatever option you choose, make sure it covers the two points I mentioned above.
