****THIS IS NOT A MAC vs PC THREAD****
Please don't hijack it with mac vs pc comments

Looking for tools that run on osx which people think highly of and would recommend.

Also be interested to hear of tools which mac users still use on PC (& if they have tried any mac alternatives).

Much as I know I'll probably always have to dip into the PC, I hate having to do it...

MAC TOOLS

Market Samurai (love it!)
Best Wonder Wheel Scraper (tbh I haven't used this much - found google keyword tool with MS a better combination)
Tweet Deck
I show u - screen capture
Paparazzi - great for full screen capture (of non-login sites)

Great free mac tool:
CherryPicker - The World's Best Market Selection Software
I don't use this much now as MS does the job but it's great if you're tight for cash - it's also pretty handy as it loads fast

PC TOOLS

These tools I still turn on my PC for

The Best Spinner
Bookmarking Demon
Article Marketing Robot
+ a few social media bits

Any recommendations for more osx software?

I'm looking for another keyword tool for micro-niche product searches and local search terms (a keyword tool that can add prefix / suffix modifiers).

Thanks!

  • Market Samurai works on Windows too. So it's a draw for that. I am a Mac user too and I must say we are greatly disadvantaged.

    • Screenflow
      Skitch
      GarageBand
      Keynote (iWork)
      Pages (iWork)

      and

Parallels 5.0 - I leave this running all day long on my iMac so I never have to worry about incompatibility. Runs ALL PC programs if I ever need them.

    • Like Marty, I use Parallels 5 and can run any "pee-cee-only" IM program...UAW, SENuke, Micro Niche Finder, you name it. And my IM income is fabulous as a result. So I would disagree w/jokers that we are "greatly disadvantaged."

  • Not sure why you need software to screen capture.

Just do shift+command+4 and you get crosshairs to select the area you want to capture.

    • I like the paparazzi (free) as it's really simple; paste in the url & it captures the whole screen, gives size/crop options and lets you save as a jpeg at whatever size/quality you like - ready for immediate upload.

Thinking of giving SEnuke or Bruteforce a go in the next month or so.

Does anyone have a tool for adding modifiers for to keywords?
  • As well as many that have already been mentioned:

    Simplenoteapp

    Smile on My Mac Disklabel

Also, iwork has literally just added the ability to create epub eBooks in pages.

One thing I cannot find is eBook rebranding software for mac.

    • I passed to a Mac 21.5" after 18 years of PC.
For all the rest Mac is ok, except for my favorite Internet Marketing software.
But you can solve this problem installing a Windows Emulator by VmWare.

On this way I can use my favorite Keyword Research Pro and all the other software I need.

Anyway, if I need to get a software, I try to get an AIR one compatible with Mac or an online version.
The thing I want to show is that you can do everything you want just from your Mac.

      See you !

    • Is there any decent backlinking or article marketing software for OS X? I haven't found any...
  • I like Crossover, Rapid Rewriter (a really decent spinner/rewriter), and screen cast o matic. And who can forget my all time fav-Market Samurai.
