I'd like to hear some reviews on WP syndicator.

I already searched the forum and got nothing.

I picked it up when Andy had his WSO. Great system, easy to set up and nicely automated for your WP site. Highly recommended!

I don't know why you should pay this much for something you can do for free.

Using WP plugin called Shorten2Ping you can automatically syndicate your posts to Ping.fm 30+ services.

When it was sold for $9.97 is was a good buy, but I am not sure it is worth the price today.

Syndication works if the site your syndicating two have a high PR or at least indexed in Google.

I see people using WPsyndicator by creating tons of accounts on (vox, livejournal, blogger, etc) -- but if those sites of yours are not indexed yet, there's not much point.

I purchased the plugin and it is easy to set up, just needs a little time initially to set up the web 2.0 accounts.

Any news on updates to WP Syndicator with updates for additional sites etc would be really useful to help keep it current. Things do seem to have gone very quiet since all the buzz around the launch.

Have pm'd both Andy and John.

This issue is easily remedied with some backlinks and regular post activity. Ive tested web 2.o posting and indexation rates pretty extensively

This will get you backlinks and indexation. it doesnt happen all by day5. Its pretty minor task getting the web 2 blogs sites indexing and working great.

It does not work for blogger for me which is HUGE. I get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Zend_Loader in /home/site/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tpc-memory-usage/library/Zend/Loader.php on line 31
If I can't get this resolved I'll probably request a refund and look elsewhere. I emailed the creator but no replies yet. Granted it's only been 12hrs, I'll give him a bit more time before requesting a full refund.

I just purchased this plugin yesterday for full price ($67) for multiple domain uses. Here's the low down...

It supports 15 web 2.0 sites (including Twitter). You have to sign up to each site manually if you aren't already a member or don't have another program that does this for you. You could always outsource or take an hour out of your day to sign up. No biggie.

The plugin installs like any typical plugin and is ready to use after 5 minutes of configuration. Very intuitive and easy to do.

You'll need to sign up for a bit.ly account if you don't already have one and input your username and API. Again, very simple. you can also configure the excerpt length, auto syndicate, max daily posts and default anchor text. - Which you can also do in each post as you post in the future, the default is just in case you forget to include anchor text.

The 15 WEB 2.0 sites currently supports:

    Wordpress.com
    Blogger
    Tumblr
    Plurk
    Multiply
    Type Pad
    Live Journal
    Vox
    Friend Feed
    Xanga
    Indenti.ca
    Blewllow
    Bright Kite
    Youare
    Twitter

However, not all work or are 'dofollow'. Blogger does not work for me and I contacted support. After 24 hours, still no reply and I can't really seem to find an actual support link on the website. Not really sure how this works but it isn't easy getting support so far.

Vox is no longer. They are closing the doors September 30th. So that scratches that one off the list of 15 web 2.0 sites.

These are nofollow, so no SEO benefit will be given:
    Plurk - nofollow
    Friendfeed - nofollow
    Youare - nofollow
    Xanga - nofollow

The plugin also seems to be a bit of memory hog. Not a good thing.

I use TwitterFeed so I don't need the Twitter function part of this plugin. I like TwitterFeed because it's offsite.

Oh, I signed up for all the accounts 30-40 hrs before I used the plugin and filled out my profiles on each account so it doesn't look spammy to the webmaster. Well, turns out I was suspended from Blellow after two submissions.

So all in all, there's really only like seven WEB 2.0 sites that are useful. But it's still nice getting the link out there and I'm sure it'll give a little bit more of a boost after the WEB 2.0 sites get indexed and start gaining some authority. I'll need to link build the useful seven WEB 2.0 sites to help get them more strength. Is the plugin worth $67? I don't know... I think it's overpriced for what you actually get.

    Here's the summary break down:

    • Support - 1 out of 10 (poor) so far
    • Ease of Use - 8 out of 10
    • Functionality - 5 out of 10 (half the web 2.0 sites either don't work, won't work in the future or are nofollow)
    • Value - 6 out of 10 (bit overpriced IMO)
    • Cons - Support, half the WEB 2.0 sites are useless, overpriced, memory hog
    • Pros - Easy to use, after it's all setup it does all the work behind the scenes, despite of only seven useful WEB 2.0 sites it'll still help build backlinks
    • End thought - Shop around for something cheaper... I'm sure there's plugins out there that can be had free or cheap. maybe Incansoft has something?

Hope you find this review helpful.

I'm not sure. It appears Posterous crossposts while this plugin syndicates directly.

I now have this plugin working on 3 domains using 2 different sets of WEB 2.0 accounts. I am worried that if I syndicate too much on one WEB 2.0 account I will get suspended for spamming.

One of my autoblogs get over 30 posts per day which is syndicating other blogs content (Yes I have permission from the blog owners) and so far I have not been suspended. Except by Blellow when I submitted my first 2 posts.

I wonder if Incansoft has something relatively similar...?

Actually what they do is to build link to their website so their website will get more traffic. But do you know that all of those ways to increase traffic can be done by this plugin

But error generated is more by using WP-syndicator

    Definitely not worth the money.

Like someone already pointed out, microblogs are nofollow links except for brightkie, blogger is not working, Vox is closed although you can transfer an existing blog to typepad free.

So you only get dofollow links for wordpress, tumblr, multiply, livejournal, typepad and brightkite.

      Update:

After a few days of using this plugin, Wordpress, Live Journal, Type Pad and Xanga all stopped working after 8 successful submissions. If you are an owner of this software, you may want to check to see if yours are working too.

So only what.... that's like 3 microblogs working for me now? Ugh! I want a refund.

I sent three more emails to support the past 24 hours and still no help. I wonder if this plugin was abandoned?

I am setting up on numerous blogs as we speak - I am taking my time - will manually post slowly - will complete the profile info at each site - all of my links are to websites with tons of content, so not spammy links - i will also backlink each of the sites - submit each rss feed to rss aggregators - i think (hope) by slowly building this up i can eventually put on auto-pilot and really reap the benefits ! Or I will have wasted another day in internet marketing hell

I just sent a request for a refund. It appears this plugin is no longer supported and it won't syndicate to over half the sites it suppose to (**though it did work for some for 8 successful post, it just stopped working). I just flushed $67 bucks down the toilet. This was my birthday present to myself and I got burned.

I strongly urge people to stay clear from this plugin!

          - **
After it stopped working for Wordpress, Live Journal, Type Pad and Xanga, I disabled the plugin and deleted it and all the files. I used "Clean Options" plugin to make sure it was 100% deleted. I reinstalled and it still didn't work and re-inputted all the login details and still doesn't work. I tried everything! I spent the last 2 or 3 days trying to fix the issues!!!

And still no support from the people who gladly took my $67 dollars. What a miserable miserable plugin!

          DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I wish the developer would come in here.. but heck, I can't even get an email back from them.... after sending about 5 emails through the course of about 3 days.

When someone drops $67 cold hard cash on a plugin that works, maybe, 50% as advertised, while not getting any support or help... that's pretty shady imo. So yes, I would say my conclusion of "stay away" is completely accurate. This has been one of the worse software experiences I have ever dealt with.

Every time I send a message I get an auto response saying he will reply to the support ticket ASAP and that he "lives at his computer". Well, he hasn't "lived at his computer" in 3 days. Yet here I am stuck with a $67 piece of software that doesn't work as advertised.

I paid via PayPal, can I file a PayPal claim to freeze my money for a full refund? I sent a refund request to the developer about 8-10 hours ago and still no response. I'm getting worried that I was scammed.

Perhaps I should file a claim through PayPal before its too late...

I forwarded this thread to the developer and he will take care of you. He had a new person in customer support who has basically fallen down on the job. This is a very reputable Warrior who normally gives very good support for all his products.

All these threads saying stay away and practically calling the guy a scammer...I wonder if you'll bother coming back to this thread to tell people that you DID get help or you DID get the refund you're screaming for.

3 lousy days and you're screaming scam - God forbid if someone should take a vacation or have a family emergency. Geesh!

Technically 4 days and still no word. I'm a firm believer that if you can't do the job or have other obligations that interrupt your online business, then take it down so people can't make new purchases. I've never been way from a computer for 4 straight days and if I was, I'd atleast check in to see if I got any messages. You can't tell me you don't check your emails even when you are away from your desk for an extended period of time... (though his automated emails state that he "practically lives at his desk".

God forbid someone take your hard earn cash and can't even give enough courtesy to shoot you an email to say "hey, I'm away from my desk until x-day and I'll help you as soon as I get back!".

It literally took me 2 seconds to write that line and could send it in email in literally 20 seconds! How hard is that? If that is too difficult then find a new line of work.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable. And of course I am going to tell people to stay clear of this product because obviously (if he is legit) can't handle the work load or has other things to do other than handle his company.

I have a business to run to put food on my table, I can't waist my time and resources on "people with other things to do" after taking my money for a service they can't deliver. I don't have $67 rolling in every hour by unsuspecting customers who are happy even if it isn't as advertised. I actually have to work for my bread and butter.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but 4 days has been more than enough time to at the very least send a 20 second email just to say "I'll get with you on x-day to help you resolve the issue(s)".

Alright, rant over. I have WORK to do and clients I must email back in a timely manner

What do you mean they "stopped working" ? What exactly does that mean.

How does a tool like this work one day and not another?

Did they - the WEB 2 moderators shut your system off for crap content?

Shut down for too many posts per day? Are you autoblogging to the wp syndicator installed blog and then trying to syndicate that?

Blogger works fine for me? So does WP and Typepad and Live Journal ...

Did your web host shut down your script for excessive resource useage? were you posting too often?

Blogger can be a challenge now days because they require 32 zillion verifications - sms / google account etc. I cross post to blogger all the time with 3rd party tools and blogger is a PITA to keep a blog alive where you are not directly logging into their site and manually posting.

If 7 posts in 3 days is too many, then yes... I guess that could be an issue. Although I can login to these accounts and post content manually. The accounts are still active. It even connects through the account manager in the wpsyndicator admin.

It makes no sense and that's why I've been working hard the past 4 days to get support. It could be a small issue or it could be a bug in the download. I have no idea because I am not a coder.

On the flip side, most of the "working" accounts are already indexed in Google (with a little SEO strategy by me). Could be an effective tool if the other accounts worked.

I'm really bummed Blogger doesn't work because that one could be really great for boosting my links.

Great question!! I cant figure out what really works - I just keep trying to build backlinks the best I can. I assume if I can get the web 2.0 sites indexed and the spiders to crawl the links back to my site - I will get improvement in search engine results. If I can automate this, then that is another benefit.

I have been using for 3 days - so far only "Blellow" has closed my account - they closed it on the first post (i tried to open several times with different emails - even waited a day before posting) - i guess if you have a "link" in your post, you are a spammer. oh well, everything else working good - I am taking it very slow, only making 1 to 2 posts per day - letting the accounts age and testing to see if i can increase the posting rate, especially existing content previously posted. again, i plan to backlink all the web 2.0 properties, and check to make sure everything gets indexed.

i am not questioning that "gearmonkey" is having issues and not getting any answers - i do think that we all need to slow down a little with some of these automatic tools and take the time to make sure everything is done proper and sticks. that was my problem with senuke - i just couldnt track everything i was "nuking" - not sure what was even indexed. i am waiting for the new version to come out that hopefully will make it easier to track each project.

This was the reply I got from the developer Andy after I sent a PM following problems getting a reply from WP Syndicator support.

I sent a reply a couple of days ago making a few suggestions but have not had a response as yet.

Hopefully Andy is on the case to keep this a viable and worthwhile plugin.

      QUOTE
      "Hi Grahame,

I've apologized in both the other email and via PM on Warrior but incase you get this one first, please accept my apologies for the delay in dealing with this stuff.

The first web2.0 site update will be more of a switcheroo than adding. Vox is disappearing in a month and Blellow deletes pretty much every account created there so I'll be replacing them ASAP.

After that I've got a few more core features to take care of such as import/export accounts then I'll be considering what sites to add. At the moment there are no plans for non-blog sites such as Squidoo and Hub Pages but that doesn't mean it won't happen ever.

      Cheers,

      Andy"

    Hi everyone (particularly Gear Monkey),

I'm the developer for and co-owner of WPSyndicator and a couple of people have pointed this thread out to me (thanks guys and girls).

I've been a Warrior member for a long time so I'd like to take the opportunity to publicly apologize and explain the situation.

We had some issues with the support desk itself which really set me back so I spent the time I usually spend doing support hiring someone to come on board and help speed up getting people the answers to their questions. Unfortunately the person I hired disappeared on day two and left me even further behind than before.

This is not an excuse. Supporting my products is my responsibility and one of my top priorities, it's my fault that I hired the wrong person and I'm sorry for the inconvenience it's obviously caused some people.

If you think you've had to wait too long and you want to wash your hands of WPSyndicator and myself please follow the instructions in the Clickbank receipt email you received and you can request a refund through there. I believe they process it within 24 hours as long as I don't dispute it, which I won't of course. If you're not happy, I really don't want your money. Contrary to what it may look like from the tone of this thread

If you're still really keen to get it working and it didn't "Just Work" (I promise you, it really has for most people) then please give me a few more days to get the new support lady up to speed and we'll get through the back log ASAP. Don't forget you've got 60 days to claim the refund so there's nothing to stop you doing both. I'm even happy for you to leave it, we'll get it working and then you can claim the refund for the inconvenience if you really want.

While I don't want to address every point in this thread the one thing that really stood out to me was this comment -

I don't think I'm being unreasonable. And of course I am going to tell people to stay clear of this product because obviously (if he is legit) can't handle the work load or has other things to do other than handle his company.
I know several people have jumped to my defence but I'd like to say I think what Gear Monkey is saying is completely reasonable. I've always handled support myself before and never dealt with the volume of sales (and thus support) a Clickbank launch brought with it. This is my mistake and for that I apologize. I am doing everything I can to rectify the mistake and hope to have it all back on track in the next few days.

    Sincerely,

    Andy

I don't understand why you couldn't have at least sent a message or program your email auto-responder to blast out a message like the above message for support tickets?

Would have saved everyone the hassle.

I'll probably just wait to see if the issues get resolved in the next couple days before requesting a refund. I'd like this program to work so I can use it.

Thanks for writing your message. I feel more relived to know there is an actual person behind this product. I was starting to feel like the product was abandoned while you continued to rake in peoples cash... glad I was wrong

There is indeed. A rather over worked person at the moment. The result of taking on one too many projects in one go. I promise you any over sight such as not sending out replies (I freely admit the last time I was able to triage support was Monday and for that I'm sorry) is purely due to a lack of time and ability to think clearly at the moment.

I've just signed up a great lady by the name of Catherine Heiter who starts work on the front line items tomorrow.

I'll handle the more complicated ones, which yours sounds like it will be, as I can and I'm in the process of reviewing developer applications to handle this and continue to improve the features of the plugin. Ideally I'd like to get someone on board early next week but I won't commit to that as I'll probably just end up looking foolish ... again.

Either way we'll have the two problem sites Vox (going away) and Blellow (ridiculous moderation policies) swapped out before the end of the month then we can start to look at expanding features and adding more sites.

Thanks for your feedback and my apologies that it took a public forum post to get my attention.

        Cheers,

        Andy

The above comment adds absolutely nothing to the discussion... it appears to be a sad attempt to flame.

            Not gonna work.

Thanks Andy for clearing up the confusion. I hope we can get the issues I'm having with the software resolved.

I was thinking maybe a plugin conflict, but I can't seem to find the plugin giving the issues.

I agree completely with gear monkey on this. None of us are wishing to give Andy a hard time just for the sake of it.

I respect that fact he has now come onto the forum and offered his apologies and let us all know the reasons why there were problems and what his intentions are to sort them out.

However had he let everyone know a lot sooner this thread would not even exist.

I too now look forward to the new features of WP Syndicator and sincerely hope this can now all be put to rest.

Are there any updates on what's happening with WPsyndicator and support, etc?

    Is everything working well now?

GearMonkey, all okay? Or did you move on?

I ask as I am interested in the plugin and wanted to hear all is well.

Quick additional question specifically for Andy: Can WPsyndicator rotate multiple user accounts so the linking looks more natural than always being to/from the same accounts?

    Thanks in advance,

    Michael

      Hi Michael,

I'd like to invite other users to comment on the new support setup. I'm just as interested in the feedback as you are since it all helps me run a smoother operation. So I'll try to keep this reply limited to what I've put in place and leave it to everyone else to comment on whether it's working or not.

The WPSyndicator team now includes a fantastic support lady by the name of Catherine Heiter who takes care of all the immediate issues such as broken download links, not knowing where the manual is etc. (Although the slacker only works 6 days a week so there can be a slight wait if you email on a Wednesday )

We've also added a very talented developer by the name of Valentin Perelogin who takes care of the more technical support that Cat isn't sure how to handle. He's also in charge of product updates, the first of which will be out before the end of the month to swap some annoying sites out and put new ones in.

And in answer to your specific question. WPS doesn't support multiple accounts at this time but I'll certainly add it to the to do list.

      Hope that helps,

      Andy

The next update will be out by the end of the month and will remove the two sites that are causing most trouble -

Vox - which is closing it's doors
Blellow - which seems to delete accounts all over the place

And replace them with much better sites, which I won't name just incase the development doesn't work out as planned.

          Cheers,

I have been using plug-in and am pleased so far - good to know we are replacing the two problem sites. I am building links back to the web 2.0 properties as they seem to take a while to index.

A feature request I have is to somehow indicate on the post that we have already wpsynicator'd it - I have tons of blogs and want to syndicate older posts slowly over time, dont really feel like building a big spreadsheet to keep track.

This is the first last and only support request I will handle in this forum. This forum is for product reviews not support. Pearson and Ken will kick my ass if I start using it that way.

In this case it's caused because your host uses PHP4 by default and WPSyndicator requires PHP5 (which has been standard for several years now).

You can usually resolve this by adding the following line to your .htaccess file -

                AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

If not you'll need to contact your hosting company and ask how to use PHP5.

That's it folks. Any and all other support needs to be sent through my support team by emailing support@wpsyndicator.com

                I hope you understand.

I just saw this post - have been out of town most of the month - and just want to say that I have been using this since it was launched with excellent results. There have been several updates, and the support from Andy has been STELLAR! If he says there were other issues going on recently, I would definitely be inclined to believe him.

One of things I love about this plugin is that it lets me choose which content I want to syndicate, so it gives me full control over what I am sending out to my Web 2.0 sites - and that means more quality control. I use it only with original content or really, really interesting articles that I post from other sources - never on any 'autoblog' type of posts.

I use other products of Andy's as well - and personally, I think he is one of the 'real deals' in the biz -

    Just my 2 cents, folks.....

      Hi,

I am the new support person for WP Syndicator and have been working through the backlog of tickets over the last couple of weeks. Andy had a problem with his support system and things got out of hand.

I haven't come across your ticket in the list yet so I don't know what would have happened to it. Could you please start a new ticket at support@wpsyndicator.com and I will get you the help you need.

Same goes for anyone else who is having issues or problems with the plugin.

      Thanks.

I'm looking to put this on some autoblogs, but not sure it'd be worth it.

I have about 70 now, with two posts going up per day. So if I syndicated each post, that would be 140 per day. I assume this would likely get me banned pretty fast?

If so is there an option to only syndicate a certain percentage of posts?

    Thanks!

    • I purchased this plugin a few days ago. The user's manual shows 15 sites for you to sign up to so the plugin can automatically interact with these sites. Three of the 15 sites are no longer open for business. One of them has been closed for so long I couldn't even find any info on them in Google. This plugin is obviously no longer supported. I dislike having my time wasted like this. I spent a lot of time signing up to these networks before discovering the abandoned sites which told me I was wasting my time with the poorly maintained WP Syndicator. I will be requesting a refund.

NOTE: His Digi Traffic Multiplier, however, is excellent.

To be fair I have been critical of Andy letting WP Syndicator fall behind with updates in the past. He came to the forum and apologised and not long after an update was released.

As this is one of a suite of plugin programs he has created, I have every confidence that this will be sorted in the not to distant future.

No problem. I'm not knocking Andy here. Just answering the question posed with my personal experience. I was presented WP Syndicator as an up-sell when I purchased Digi Traffic Multiplier. DTM does what it said it would and is very good at doing it. When you purchase a new WSO and get an up-sell during checkout you naturally expect the up-sell to be fresh goods. I know that many folks have a history with Andy and, therefore, understandably have a high level of trust that he will eventually freshen up WPS. This was my first contact with his plugins and I didn't have that built in buffer to reassure me. When 3 of 15 sites are dead that doesn't seem like fresh material that is well maintained. We have all purchased stuff at the end of the author's attention span and you know how that goes.

On a positive note, Andy's customer service is top drawer. Shortly after I requested a refund a rep emailed me back to assure me they are working on it.

WPSyndicator is definitely not passed my interest. In fact, it's my best seller.

The manual has just got out of date is all. There's a core 8-10 sites that stay up forever then the rest change a fair bit as services come and go. We do our best to keep everything 100% up-to-date but in reality that just never happens.

Thanks for everyone's interest and apologies for any inconvenience/confusion caused.

    Cheers,

    Andy

If this plugin isn't on the back shelf and gathering dust then I would like to give it a go. If you don't mind I will contact customer service and have them hold off on the refund. I will re-install it and see how it performs. I was put off when I saw a users manual from last August and 3 sites were gone. It doesn't take long to update a pdf user's manual and sales page when these sites drop off.
