Good video capture software

I used the Camtasia video making software to record my desktop for some videos but only used the free 30 day trial.

Though it's great, I can't justify spending $300 on something I won't use much.

Anyone know of some cheaper/free alternatives that I can use?

Many thanks...

Camtasia from techsmith.com if you have the budget. Jing if you don't.

    • Someone in the War Room (lots of great info there) recommended this product:

Free screen recorder - BB FlashBack Express

This is not an affiliate link. Express version is free and it works with windows 7 though there is no Mac version. Hope this helps.

I just took a look at this and I will download and try it when I have time. It appears to have a feature to allow you to upload to Youtube. The free version of Jing is great but you need the paid version of Jing to upload to Youtube.

Has anyone used both Jing and BB Flashback? How do they compare?

I read this post a few days ago and have since downloaded it.
        I'm stoked!
I've used it heaps in the last few days, it woks well, does everything I need it to (at this stage) and it cost me 'nuffin!
        Nice one!

Yes, I second Jing too. Very easy to use and work for most types of use. Probably not the best for salespresentations though :-)

I tried Camstudio.org as well and it was good but I had some technical issues with it and got a copy of Camtasia instead!
