Help me pick an email marketing service

I've used the free trial for aweber and it was pretty nice I liked it. Anyone had any experience with iContact? I'm looking for a good service with the best rates. I don't have my list built up yet so I don't need a service that handles huge numbers right now. Thanks!

  • not exactly sure but for small accounts I think Campaigner is the cheapest and then aweber is the next in line but those are the only two services I use
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Thanks, never heard of campaigner before but it looks nice. I think I'll give them a shot.

    • Don't choose a 3rd party e-mail service so casually.

      (Casualness leads to casualties).

Your choice of provider is just too important a business
      decision to make willy, nilly.

If you're looking for a high quality provider with a proven
10+ year track record on getting e-mails delivered, then
      AWeber are a great option.

  • If you are thinking about using Aweber but want a cheaper price, look for Aweber's reseller.

I am using ProFollow. They are Aweber reseller, and everything are actually is Aweber except the price is cheaper...

    • The Private Label versions of AWeber allow up to 10k
      subscribers for the $19.95/month price.

However, they do NOT offer the full AWeber Analytics
functionality that allows you to track your e-mail campaigns
more effectively, e.g. who's clicked on certain links, who's
      opened certain e-mails, etc.

      Dedicated to your success,

      Shaun
  • Great info!!! I use and love aweber as well... Another one I've started using for some small companies is mailchimp.com. It's free up to a certain # of subscribers... you sacrifice having their logo in your emails until you're a paid subscriber.

Aweber is probably the best known auto responder system with a track record. I've never tried icontact but I've tried both aweber and imnicamail. I really like Aweber but I moved because there was a WSO.

If you're looking for price you might want to check out imnicamail which is run by a warrior here I believe. He had WSOs with 30% off so it was only $7/month for 5000 subscribers.

The pricing definitely beats aweber. AS for delivery rate I don't really know since I didn't hceck the records but many said it was fine.

Their forms aren't as fancy as Aweber though which is the only evident difference for me. Their system is different as well but still very easy.
  • I don't like Mailchimp at all. I find that you get what you pay for, and I really don't like Mailchimp.

The company I use is as reputable as iContact and Aweber - Constant Contact. It's a little bit cheaper than Aweber and it has the features I need.

    • Aweber has the most features and since your email marketing list is essentially the asset of your business, it is worth spending a little more on it.
  • Colton,

With e-mail marketing you really only have two choices.

    Aweber or Getresponce.

I love Aweber because you can actually have them host your opt-in page.

This means you do not need to get a domain or web hosting instantly for a niche you want to test drive. Just start driving traffic.

I even have a video for people to show them how it is done (in under 10 minutes!).

If you want to check it out just PM me.

Your list is THE most important part of your marketing so look after them with the best

    Cheers,

    Jamus

"With e-mail marketing you really only have two choices. Aweber or Getresponce."

I wonder sometimes if the people who make these claims have tried and tested the numerous services that are available????

    Had the quote said -
"I've tried traffic wave and here are the results of 3 months testing, then I tried WizardResponderPro and here are 3 months of results for them... At the same time I ran tests with Imnica mail, MailChimp, DirectResponders, Email Aces, etc. etc. and my conclusion based on all these tests is....."

Then I may read it with interest!

Being one of the owners of WizardResponderPro - I would naturally like to see our service get a mention, and I'm sure the owners of the other services out there would feel the same?... But hey - just because we're not as big and only have a few years of running our service doesn't mean we don't provide value!

I'm the first to admit that if you want the ability to constantly email those who haven't opened your first email promoting some product - that we don't have all the facilities Aweber has... However - I also feel that many smaller marketers who don't yet have a list of hundreds of thousands might feel they don't want the unsubscribe rates some of these facilities could lead to.

So where are all the customers of these other services?

Is it just a case of the blind leading the blind

(no disrespect intended to those who use a big name service and enjoy it, I'll happily say they are good at what they do) I'm speaking of those who don't even know there are other services with great reputations available to consider.

    Or
Are those using other services too busy marketing to come and add their opinions?

Either way - a simple google search would give a list of services to investigate.... Or would people prefer to just keep asking their guru who pays them the most commission?

Sorry if this sounded like a rant - but hey, I know the owners of a few services who work hard to provide value, delivery and features to help their clients, and they too must wonder how people who've been online for a couple of months suddenly become the authority on telling more newbies they have no choices!
