Windows 7 Speech Recognition
So last night I was playing around on my new desktop computer that has Windows 7 loaded on it. My last computer was in 2005 and had XP on it. Anyway, I noticed the Speech Recognition software and decided to set it up and go through the tutorial, which also trains the software to learn how you speak.
You know what? This is pretty cool!
I've never owned or used Dragon Naturally Speaking, so I can't compare, but for what I'd want to use the Windows Speech Recognition program for, I'm gonna save my $$$ and not get DNS. I dictated an entire article at just slightly less than my normal rate of speech, and it only made one mistake. And that was just after the barest time spent teaching it how I talk.
Color me impressed. Good job, Microsoft! (I can't believe I just said that about Microsoft).
