Easy Video Player 2 Working Out Great...

Hey,

After 4 days and close to $200.00 bucks I finally
have the unbranded version of Easy Video Player 2.

It was a bit of a hassle getting my hands on it and getting
it working but I'm pretty happy with it overall.

I prefer it over EZS3.

It's pretty cool how many things you can do with it.

Sure, some people are pissed they had to upgrade
to get the unbranded version but I'm over it now.

It looks and works great and it's my new player of choice.

I know there was quite a negative thread about it earlier
and well I'm glad to have the commercial version and you
know what, it's worth the money I paid for it.

I'm glad to have it up and running and I can't wait to try
out the opt-in box over the video thingy...

Very cool feature.

Later dudes,

Craig

Great. For the commercial version, how's that work? Is it for allowing clients to run video on their sites? Curious what the intended purpose is?

I agree with you. I've using Easy Video Player 1 since Nov or Dec of 2009 and I thought that was a great software and they've taken up few notches with version 2!

If folks get the branded version they have fixed the direct linking issue so I'm no longer upset. I truly believe it was a mistake missed during testing.

Josh and his support staff have been very helpful so I'm not asking for a refund. This software is too damn good.

For folks sticking with the branded version, you just need to go to "settings" in their EVP dashboard and enter their Clickbank ID so the watermark is embedded with their direct link.

Alan, does it direct link to his site still? What did they fix?

      Thanks,

        Thanks,
Yes it does but before it was a direct link now it uses your affiliate link so you get credit for any sales. I still prefer not to have my videos watermarked at all so I'll be using the commercial license.

I bought EVP1 and could have sworn that it included life-time upgrades. Okay, then I upgraded to EVP2 for $77.00 and have a few questions about this please...

          1) URGENT PLEASE: I watched the upgrade video and it doesn't show how to upgrade. It only shows how to install EVP2 which I already did with EVP1. Should I delete the OLD EVP1 folder in my cpanel and then install the new EVP2 upgrade folder? Should I install the new EVP2 upgrade next to the old EVP1 folder in my cpanel? If I delete the old EVP1 folder from my cpanel, will I lose the videos and stuff?

          2) I'm reading a lot of complaints about a watermark. Are you guys talking about the Flow Player watermark seen while the video is loading on the page? Or did EVP add a watermark that is a clickable link to the EVP website? If so, at what point does this EVP watermark/link appear? Can this EVP watermark/link be turned off in my EVP Settings? I don't recall an EVP watermark/link with EVP1 - was there one before?

          3) I don't care about the Flow Player watermark appearing at the beginning for most of my sites but I have one site where I'm going to be doing a perpetual launch with a fake but very live appearing "webinar." At this "live" webinar I don't want any evidence that this is a recorded video. That means I don't want any watermarks and the only control buttons I want should be a volume button and a full screen button. Can I do that with EVP2? And if so, will it cost me more than the $77.00 I already spent for the upgrade?

          Thank you very much.

    Hi Craig:

I believe things happen at launch time. I have an email into support, I too did not see anything about Commercial or Watermark during the Early Bird.

I am confident after reading Josh's post in the other thread that everything will get resolved.

I'm new to video and this sounds like the answer for me to be able to do all the things I've dreamed of.

I'm glad all's well on your end.

    Have a good day.

    Hey guys,

I thought I would address your questions and update you all quickly, here..

    First of all.

THANK YOU all so much for buying Easy Video Player 2.

To be honest with you, we have had some technical hiccups during this launch due to the demand, and it has been a hard, crazy few days..

I want to thank you all personally for sticking with us and for understanding.. When a launch gets so big so quickly, (when you are not one of the mega players in the industry) it can lead to a few technical problems, it happens to us all and I appreciate your patience.

With regards to the commercial upgrade,

    1) This was supposed to be shown as an option during checkout for early birds as well as everyone else. Unfortunately we were in the middle of transferring everything over from our testbed (where the site was waiting to go live) to our live site when the server crashed.

The page was up intermittently (sometimes completely down) but the upsell page, the thank you page and the register/login pages were sometimes completely missing.

This caused a huge demand on our support desk, I have been working day and night with my support team to make sure we get back to everyone, and I want to thank everyone for the understanding if they have contacted us during this busy time, we usually get back to you very quickly but at the moment there is a little bit of a backlog.

Obviously due to the server issue, quite a few people could not login, or register for an account in the members area, or upgrade their purchase.

Because of this we have been working 24-7 to manually add people, contact them and help them in the support desk. We also added the upgrade option in the members area for all early birds.

    2) We added the commercial version option because we have ALWAYS had a watermark on our players. (It was on EVP1 too)

The differences between this one and the last is the watermark is smaller on EVP2 and shows easyvideoplayer rather than Flowplayer. One of the reasons we did this was because Flowplayer have recently almost doubled the size of their watermark and we were not happy with something that size on our player for our users.

I deliberately made it smaller so it was less obtrusive for my customers, and also, its VERY important to note that the watermark is NOT over your videos, it only appears while the video is loading and begins during the first 2 seconds. Also, we used to have a watermark on the full screen option (Flowplayer forced this) and we removed it completely for everyone on EVP2.

We DO have the watermark as clickable through to our site, this is designed so that affiliates can enter their affiliate id's into the settings area and earn commissions anytime someone buys our product. (This was a feature we added in response to our customers requesting it)

We did have a bug in our latest version that did not pass the affiliate id through correctly and this was fixed within a few hours of it being brought to our attention and is now bullet proof. (TRUST us, we have tested it as affiliates are key to our business and we know how important it is to make sure affiliate features work for them!)

We also do understand though that some people do not want the watermark on the player at all.

    Now,

In the past, those customers would go directly to Flowplayer, pay them $97 for a ONE site license to remove it (on their primary site) and give us the keys Flowplayer gave them.. If they wanted it removed from all their sites, they would pay Flowplayer $1,450 and give us those keys.
We were performing free integrations of these keys into EVP1 for our customers so the watermark would be gone on their one site they selected.

We had a LOT of customers ask us if we could offer something like this ourselves, because Flowplayers multi site license was WAY to expensive for them. (It is $1,450 for a license from Flowplayer to remove the watermark on unlimited sites you put the player)

So, for EVP2 we decided to offer this as a response to the requests and the price of $77 is currently lower than you buying a ONE site license from Flowplayer and effectively gives you the same as you would get if you bought their $1,450 license. (As well as the entirety of EVP2 and its features)

As I said before, this was designed to be given up front to everyone but our server problems meant that for a percentage of early birds, they did not see the option to buy this until after.

If you notice, the EVP sales video on the main page has the watermarked version, working exactly how it works, so you can see how long it appears for and how big it is there. You will notice, its smaller than ANY other video players watermark. (Remember, nearly all video players have a watermark, including paid ones if you use them across more than one site)

    Finally,

Our support desk, as I said, has been swamped with working flat out to make sure customers are supported and well looked after and successfully accessing our software.

It sucks the server issues happened, and to a degree, we are a victim of our own success during the prelaunch.

We were prepared, we had cloud hosting in place, but unfortunately, it went down. We obviously lost a lot of money during this time but the most important thing for us is, that we can get back to all our customers who did get through and make sure they gained access to the product ok.

If you take the time to read the above, I am sure you will see how the decision to offer this watermark free feature to our customers came from.. (And note, we never offered it before, the watermark has only gotten smaller and less obtrusive in the new version)

Now you have the opportunity to get this for $77 rather than $1,450.

We have had a lot of thank you's for offering this from people who were preparing to pay over $1k for the feature and can now get it for much much more.

Like I said in my prelaunch video, I believe in keeping things affordable for everyone, because thats where I come from, I remember not being able to afford cool software and I want to offer my customers amazing value whilst obviously still being able to make a profit and keep my company running and I can say, we definitely do that.

We were told by a lot of bigger marketers to make this product $497, but we resisted and kept it at the price we believed gives our customers the best chance to benefit from it.

Thank you all once again, I dont spend much time in this forum, we really do have to spend our time with our customers, supporting them and improving the product etc, but I wanted to take the time to explain the few technical issues we had with our launch and address all of your above questions.

Thank you all for being our customers, we really appreciate it.

Yep I got EVP 1 when it was first launched quite a while ago as WSO and I've used it ever since in each of my products, amazing software. I had some issues when I upgraded it from an old version to the newest version but the customer support fixed that issue within 24h, that was great.

EVP2 is amazing and I still haven't even used all the features, I think I will upgrade to the commercial version as well though, I think it makes sense for people that get a lot of attention to their videos trying to launch their newest products.

I can also vouch for Josh, met him in San Diego for a couple of days and he truly cares about his product and his clients, that's for sure and I believe is replies in the threads here in the forum show that as well.

      All the best,

        Yeah,

I've been uploading my up coming course the
last two days and I have to say it's a cinch
to use compared to EZS3 and the videos
        look awesome.

Tons of very cool features, too many to get into

I don't know how I lived without it.

I have no doubts this software is great.

That was never the point. I would have avoided a lot of time if the live link was disclaimed on his site.

I decided to go try and get the commercial version otherwise I will have to refund. I just can't have a live link.

Unfortunately, his support is taking days now.

I've only been able to upload to a single bucket that EVP automatically creates.
I haven't tried it yet but I noticed there is an option now to import buckets from Amazon S3 into EVP. Once copied they're available in the "your files" sections. You can create folders on EVP so you could create a folder for Bucket 1 Bucket 2, etc. and import them then move to the appropriate folder. Not sure about the permissions settings.

I haven't seen a side-by-side comparison between EVP 1 and EVP 2. The video split testing, Facebook integration, and adding elements like delayed buy buttons underneath the video are the main reasons I upgraded. The loading the video in a light box is pretty cool too.

The watermark is not the Flow Player one that would appears in the first few seconds of the video loading that watermark is gone but they added an "Easy Video Player" logo watermark that appears in the left-hand corner and it's there for the entire time of the video.

The watermark is a hot spot meaning if you click it, it will redirect you to the EVP website via your affiliate link if you set it up (see few posts above).

To remove the watermark you will need to pay more for the commercial license vs. the regular one when you upgrade.

As to the buttons you have the show the "allow full screen" button and you can show, hide, or only show on mouse over for your video controls.

I can confirm that I got the commercial license and the watermark does go away.

Just to confirm, that is actually NOT correct.

The watermark is NOT there the entire time of the video! It appears for the first 2 seconds that the video loads, the same as the flowplayer one did. Please check EasyVideoPlayer » and watch the sales video to see what I mean. That is using the full watermarked version.

I have been swamped and unable to try out EVP2, but reading about having to upgrade to commercial version had me confused:confused:
I was under the impression that i had access to all the EVP2 features when i purchased via the early bird discount, i was just worried that i had to purchase the commercial license to be able to use EVP2 as per sales video.

Anyway... I am reassured by your response that all is OK.

I just found this video player too. How do you actually use it? Do you make your video or graphics, then edit in some software and after that use EVP? I know how it works before I upload to YT. I`ve never use players like this because as we know some of them are crazy expensive.

        Doen't look like that's possible.
On my install (2.0.5, commercial version), the stats seem to be broken.
For example, for my latest video, it's counting the total number of views as "plays", but counts zero "views" because, apparently, no one is watching the whole video. That also seems to be inaccurate, as there are many comments referring to the very last thing I say in the video.

So, right now, at least for me, the stats in EVP2 are a non-feature.

Thanks. Is it at least supposed to do that? Or just tell you how many people completed the entire video?

Because the emails people have been sending out claims it tells you exactly where they left, but from the sales video it seems it just tells you how many people completed the video.

Well, there's one graph that's titled "where are your visitors?", but I don't know what that's supposed to do. Perhaps that should be displaying data on where in the video-timeline they are?

Also: I don't know if the stats thing is a bug with EVP2 or if I just didn't install it properly. Hopefully someone else can chime in with their experience.

      1) Does anyone have a side-by-side comparison chart for EVP1 and EVP2? I'm trying to decide if EVP2 is even worth what I paid for it over EVP1.

      2) I paid $77.00 for the EVP2 upgrade but there was no link to a "commercial version" of EVP2 when I ordered. Since there was no link to the commercial version when I ordered, can I assume that I already have the EVP2 commercial version? If not, how do I get the commercial version and will it cost me MORE than the $77.00 I already paid for the upgrade?

      3) I'm going to have a recorded webinar on one of my site that I want to appear like a NON-recorded LIVE webinar. That means the video should have NO logo's of any kind, no pause button, no rewind or fast forward buttons. The only control buttons I want will be a play button and a full screen button. Is that possible with EVP2?

      Thanks
      Steve

Has anyone had trouble with videos loading since upgrading to EVP2?

In my office, the videos run just fine, but several of our staff overseas on slower connections say that cannot load any of our videos at all since we upgraded to EVP2 - they could load them fine on EVP1.

Anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions?

Is it just me or it seems I can NOT get widescreen vids to play as such with EVP2?

With Youtube, Viddler, etc. when we upload widescreen vids they play as such. Now with EVP2 I get the empty black space above the vid, which looks bad in itself, and worse in full screen mode.

I've grown a tad tired of semi vogue answers from customer support (which BTW have always been very quick to respond) so I'll ask here if someone figured it out.

As for the watermark and direct link, all of this is small fry when you look at it... except from an expectation/sales page point of view. It surprised many of us so we were rightly pissed,as we feel we were somewhat deceived and that leaves a bad taste. Manage expectations upfront and all will be well.

It seems that EVP2 can be used very well in conjunction w/Traffic Geyser - correct (b/c ones a player & the other is video distribution service); seems to be a little overlap, though, with the video page creation...

I`m very excited with EVP2. However I found there is no email informing us about new updates. I found by mistake after log in to account. I use v2.0.9 now but new version is 2.0.13
What`s different between them and how can I update it? I only found 2 download options as "New User" and "Upgrade". I used first one. I did nothing with those files because I have no idea what should I update? Is it enough to upload all files using e.g.Filezilla or there are only certain files to be updated?
I worry that all my setting will be gone if I do incorrect way.
    Please help

    Thank You

WOw I had NO idea there had even BEEN updates! (I've been using 2.0 this whole time), I agree, email updates would be much more appreciated than just stumbling on to a new patch after the fact!

Did you guys have to re-authenticate the software? I upgraded last month. I've been using it. I tried to log in today and I got the "you must authenticate software" screen again. I did so but it say it's invalid.

I opened a ticket with their help desk just now but thought maybe you guys might know.

Alan, I had to re-authenticate after I changed my password. It seems this is how it works. Maybe you wrote wrong password that`s why it says "invalid". Try to reset it. Bear in mind that you will have to re-authenticate anyway : ) Good Luck.

@Dexx - I received email today from Support. In order to update to v2.0.13 we must download "I am Upgrading" file, not "I am New User" as I initially thought. Then follow instruction. There is .txt file inside .zip file explaining everything and "changelog.txt" inside "evp" folder that you extracted. In addition to this video tut on EVP2 mbr`s area.

I hope it helps. I will be upgrading mine today

Again me with small problem I have no idea how to change it. All my videos are never fill in screen according to size I specify. Please see attached screenshot which shows up and down boxes like 16:9 TV. I tried to set many different sizes, but always end up the same. What setting do you use it? This video I made on Camstasia7 and saved as mp4. Josh how did you make your sales video without showing up and down boxes?
    Thank You

Has anyone that owns Optimize Press and EVP2 been able to get their EVP2 videos to play IN their OP template on an IPHONE?

I'm able to watch my videos from within the EVP2 created pages, but when I try to watch the same videos (embedded from my EVP2 install) from within my OP pages, I get a "Flash version 9,0 or greater required" message.

Just seeing if I'm the only one...

Something must be conflicting between the EVP2 embed code and the OP setting.

While the player works good, I do have a problem with EVP2. It is NOT Google Video Sitemap friendly. For a Google Video Sitemap, Google requires a Player URL and a URL for the video Content.

EVP2 provides neither. For the content URL you have to "guess". And there is no Player URL at all. I contacted support on this issue. They were not helpful.

Since you need a Google Video Sitemap to rank your videos in Google, I would say I'm gonna ask for a refund on EVP2. It's surprising that the creators never considered this issue.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "Player URL" and a "URL for the video Content." Can you clarify please?

I am a bit confused. If you are linking from S3, then you would get the video content URL from there and you would have the player URL in your EVP folder on your server if these are what you mean by player URL and video content.

I have not done any video sitemaps with EVP yet, just several other video projects I've collaborated on, so maybe I am missing something.

Are you just referencing when the html page is created that it doesn't include a sitemap or that you're not sure what the file paths are when creating your own video sitemap?

      Best,
      Scott

        HI
First of all, here is a link to Google's guidelines on creating a google video sitemap.

Second, I am NOT linking from S3. I am hosting the video on my own site.

Can you give me a "hypothetical" URL example for the content URL and player URL? I ask because I just can't tell.

I'm trying to create my own video sitemap and am looking for the exact filepaths.

        Thanks

    adi2010,

i had the same problem and EVP2 support also told me to try handbrake with a tiny file size which made the video look poor.

if you can encode the video to a format that is "streaming" and not "progressive" that will solve the problem.

this explains the difference between the 2:

    Hey guys,

It is Josh Bartlett here, the owner of Easy Video Player.

Sorry for the late entry into this thread.. This time of year is especially busy so we only just noticed it.

Just to clarify for you guys, as there seems to be some confusion...

    EasyVideoPlayer is definitely Google-friendly, yes.

We spent a lot of time creating (And spend a lot of time constantly updating) the EVP, video SEO sitemap feature.

It DOES automatically generate the player URL and we ask you to enter in the content URL (The page that you enter into the sitemap fields).

We have had a lot of customers come back to us with testimonials of seeing their videos on page one within a day or so of using our feature. (Maybe some will post here at some point if they see it)

We have an entire team that works on EVP day and night to ensure all the features stay on the cutting edge, stay fully compatible with the services we integrate with and stay 'market leading'.

We have a very dedicated support team too. We don't like how bad the standard of support in the IM industry seems to be too much of the time.. So I spend a lot of time with my support team (And we invest a lot of money into it too) to make sure we can help customers however we can at all times.

If you have any questions or problems with EVP, (or even video format related questions that do not relate directly to the EVP product) then our team are always happy to help you however they can.

You can get in touch with them here: support@easyvideoplayer.com

Thanks guys and Happy Christmas to you all!

    Speak soon,

    Josh Bartlett

PS: If you are an EVP customer, we just made 3 free Christmas gifts for you over the last week.. (3 cool new features) You can check them out here: (Thanks for being a customer!)
