Got an email from Ryan Deiss about Rank Mogul, anyone can offer any reviews?

Other than the very long video I am still listening too?

Typical Deiss video. Pretty long building up the person offering the product.

Spends time on the awesome lifestyle he has and the system he developed and has been using for several years.

States it is not get rich, takes work and includes physical shipment of disks.

Cost is $197. Some scarcity is built in with the possibility of a future price increase, some benefits being removed (access to coaching calls), and the numbers being limited to what John wants to support.

Based on the sales video I would say it involves selling search engine rankings to local business. It includes outsourcing videos, postcard templates, etc.

So since I probably won't be buying it this is all the review I can give. Just the sales letter.

I finished up the video sales letter and I almost quit viewing it for its a little misleading and typically hyped, but Ryan did a good job to build up the value of the training and gave you the hope to run a SEO business (being the mogul) with a proven formula - even though it states this is a not a get rich quick, it makes you feel you can get the lifestyle next week.

What caught a little bit of attention is the training modules for people you outsource to, thats something meaningful to have as I do have the need to train the people I outsource to, but I may wait... till others provide solid review on the training modules.

Ryan typically puts together solid training programs.

Since these were done by someone else only time will tell.

I would love to see a couple of examples though.

If you are using postcards to get customers, it will take some money to get started. You can mail for free

It sounded a lot like Main Street marketing (forms included, etc).

I haven't purchase it either..he mentions postcard and video templates...I prefer free sales tools..video sounds interesting.. A few questions I had..is he providing the people to outsource to or the places like odesk and others. Does he provide project management template that can be used for basecamphq?..is he providing content creators, video creators, website editors?....I have looked in the local market to find someone to sell local seo and everyone wants a steady paycheck...what ever happened to commission based sales executives..anyway..looking for someone to take the plunge. sounds like version of replacemyself..

The thing that caught my attention is that the he states that this John guy outsources all the SEO promotion, and that there is no ripping off on the part of the outsourcers (to steal the method of top search engine ranking) because he uses 23 different outsourcers to do the 23 different parts of the SEO strategy.

And they don't talk to each other (just to John) so they can never know the WHOLE strategy (just the one that they are implementing, which would only be 1/23rd of the whole plan)

That's great and all, but my question is, how much would it cost you per month to get 23 outsourced workers to work the plan? I'm guessing a lot.

I guess you could just do the whole thing yourself until you can afford 23 workers, but i was just thinking to myself that, unless you have some cash to begin with, or are taking a HUGE leap of faith and hiring the workers from the start and putting it on a credit card and hoping you make it back, it would have to be you that does the work. He just never mentioned that scenario in the video...

Think he mentions that 'John' uses 6 outsourcers doing 5/6 tasks each not 23 individual outsource workers.

I have access to the program and can confirm John uses 4 outsourcers doing 5/6 tasks each. I believe this gets clearly explained in the (rather long) promo video.

And John's a real person, he gives his full name and facebook account in the members area (and I think his full name is in the promo too).

              Hi perswealth

We get confused with trying to sort out 2 or 3 outsourcers...LOL

23 would be waaaayyyy to many for us.

              Probably pass on this one.

              Regards

        markjuk,

You sure about that? I could have sworn that he said that they each do just one of the steps (and there are 23), so they could never ripoff the SEO plan. I don't remember him ever saying that they each did several tasks, that's why it caught my attention so much. The cost involved....

Well, I called customer service to find out if John ranks local search for his clients (Gmaps)... what a waste of time. The girl sounded half asleep and had horrible communication skills (one word answers) and when I was trying to clarify she apparently disconnected the call mid-conversation. I guess she just wants to make a quick sale or move on to the next.

So apart from that I will probably try this out. Just the templates and 'inner workings' of a successfully outsourced SEO consulting business is enough for me.

Oh, and anyone know if John does local search for his clients? (@ Pierre or anyone?)

Disclaimer: so far I only watched the intro and the part 1 of 6 of the material.

Opinion: I'd be shocked if there was anything in the program about local search.

All that being said, I agree with maveric, $200 for seing the inner working of a successful SEO operations is a steal.

Stay tuned for a more thorough review...

I purchased this and although still early days (I've only been through the first few videos) it does seem quite good and the real deal.

The biggest problem I've had is the slow loading time and stuttering of the videos which is a bit frustrating - I don't think it's my connection.

Anyway the course looks quite detailed and is professionally produced. It is also very much step by step - a typically good Ryan Deiss product.

At this stage I couldn't tell you how well his ranking system works or whether it provides enough advanced detail to really run the business.

I suspect it's a very good starting point and you could easily enhance the course with other WSO's.

Worth $197? I couldn't tell you yet, but it looks promising.

Same here.... it covers the basics well. I knew almost nothing about SEO but was able to take my site from page 13 on google for my chosen key words to page 2 in less than a week! Good course if you are new to SEO. I like this one better than most of what Ryan offers because I actually got results from implementing it.

Ok, after spending a little more time looking at RankMogul, here are my impressions.

This course has eigth modules in total.

The first module is an introduction to the course explaining what will be covered in the modules that follow.

The next four modules cover John's SEO process, which he calls 30 Minute SEO. Each of these modules contains five videos. In each video, he gives you a task to accomplish that ought to take 30 minutes or less. I concur with what the other warriors have indicated: these four modules do a great job of teaching a complete SEO process and I'd expect someone to see good results from following these steps.

Module 6 introduces the last two pieces: outsourcing, which contains 24 videos that you can give to your outsourcers and the client getting process, taught by Perry Belcher.

Overall, I like having a proven SEO process with easy-to-follow video instructions I can give to outsourcers. On the business side, the material seems a bit light although I only took a cursory look at the last module. From what I've seen in Ryan's other programs, the coaching calls might go a long way toward filling this gap.

The interface makes it easy to navigate around and is very similar to the layout used in Ryan's latest offerings, such as "Let's Get Social". So far, I haven't experienced the problems with the videos that Hugh is mentioning.

For a seasoned SEO warrior, I suspect this product has only minimal value --with the possible exception of the coaching calls. For someone less experienced who wants to get into the SEO game, I'd recommend this product.

As an aside, for a complete newbie, I would also recommend seeing if additional material may be useful, e.g. freudianslip27's Offline Marketing Superstar and/or Tim Godfrey and Steve Clayton's SEM Blueprint. A discussion of these and other offerings probably belongs in a different thread.

Hopefully this is helpful for undecided warriors thinking of getting this product.

      Hey Pierre
Thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed feedback. Kudos to you! I am still doubtful about the number of outsourcers recommended in the course. Over 80% of my web development and SEO work that I do for my clients are outsourced to 3 providers. Trust me, even with 3 outsourcers is a headache for me sometimes, I am impressed with anyone managing well over 20 outsourcers.
      Thanks again Pierre!

Yes I received the course in the mail a couple weeks ago. In my case I think I got mean because it was part of an upsell for LocalMobileFusion which I did purchase, although PayPal blow it during check and would not let me get the upsell, but sent my details to Ryan's fulfillment anyway.

I think I was also suppose it get online access to Ryan's Get Social product but didn't though.

I did call Ryan's support and she told me they had problems with PayPal in regards to the upsell during the time I purchased LMF, and she sent me the link to sign-up for the Get Social trail.

My question now is Get Social any good? Has anyone here tried it? What did you think?

          Thanks,

          Vic

One criteria you may want to consider, from someone who creates products in the outsourcing training arena, is that the value may not be some new "secret" whiz bang method that you've never seen, but the value is in the training for your team to implement the meat and potatoes SEO/backlinking tasks so YOU don't have to do it.

    Just sayin...
