Hi everyone,

Like to check. Which one is better, Aweber vs iContact?

in terms of better support, reliable, better integration to websites (html and wordpress)?

wonder iContact can pay by paypal? I am sure that Aweber is not allowed.

Any help?

Thanks.

Update:

I chat with the Live Chat with iContact's team, and they gave me this link

http://email-marketing-service-revie...com/index.html (non affiliate)

i am really surprise, why aweber is not listed but getresponse ranks 14th ...

wonder aweber has the same features like iContact?

I have no experience on iContact. What I can tell you is Aweber is easy to use and very user friendly.

I would do a search with those names to see some of the threads already running. Everybody is going to have their preferences and it might be best to pop for the two $1 trial memberships and see which one you like.

I use both, depending upon the situation.

I've been using iContact for a couple of months now and
have been an AWeber user for years.

So far, AWeber offer much better support as they are
more responsive and have longer support desk hours
than iContact. AWeber staff also seem more helpful
and want to get to the solution quicker.

AWeber are also more widely integrated with a lot of
other software programs and they're usually the first
    to be integrated.

That said, it's easy to integrate AWeber or iContact
    webforms into WordPress.

Neither AWeber nor iContact offer payment via PayPal
but I wouldn't let that be a criteria in selecting something
as important as the company you use for your lists.

Because of the recent data compromises with AWeber
I've lost a bit of faith in their ability to protect my
subscriber data so I'm now using iContact for my more
    recent list building efforts.

    Dedicated to your success,

    Shaun

I have always thought aweber was the best until today when they purposely deleted list I have built for years. When I called in their reason was that if they decide they do not like the programs you're promoting, that they will delete your list and deactivate as well.

It's sick that a company that has been paid every month for years can cause me hell like this. I am contacting my lawyer in the morning. The owner want to play judge and take the money for years and now screw good customers. I have never had one complaint.

I understand Aweber have recently deleted many IM accounts, no warning, no notice, just done. Reason seems is IM send more emails than their other client sections. If this is the reason I would expect to get a note saying so, and perhaps a limit on the # of emails that can be sent per month. Now we have Aweber slap??

I've been in IM since 1997 and have used MANY different autoresponders, but my three favorites are Aweber, Getresponse and a little known outfit out of Kentucky called IncomeBuddy! iContact was a nightmare as they actually shut my account down over frivolous spam complaints that came in from someone who didn't know how to click an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails they opted-in to receive.. I couldn't hardly contain my laughter when they told me the reason. iContact is bascially like a ticking time bomb whenever you do a broadcast, so user beware! News travels FAST in IM, so unless they change their practices I don't expect they will be around for very long.

I just picked up a client that is using Constant Contact for $55/ month for 5000 contacts.

The Auto-responder functionality is very limited, eg, you can only have 1 active responder series at a time.

This company has 5 different websites offering different content on each so they need multiple responder series going at once.

    Is Aweber your favorite?

Constant contact is interesting because they are being marketed very aggressively through television - so I think a lot of local businesses are signing up with them.

I personally don't think constant contact is nearly as good as aweber, icontact or getresponse - at least when working with clients who had constant contact.

Believe or not, my favorite autoresponder is actually infusionsoft's. I know people rag on it, but our deliver-ability in it is every bit as good as with awebers - plus we have a lot more flexibility and integration with it. The downside is it's much more expensive and only integrates with infusion soft

But yeah you can't go wrong with aweber or getresponse. Of the two I recommend Aweber personally.

I'll tell you another one to keep an eye on - Imnica Mail - Award Winning Email Marketing Service a lot of our internet marketing clients used this so we've integrated it out of the box with a lot of our products - and it seems to be the inexpensive alternative to aweber, getresponse, icontact and the rest.

I wonder if Imnica can be integrated with Clickbank or "checkout so that customers are added automatically to our lists just as with Aweber. Other thing that worries me is the deliverability. I am subscribed to a list using Imnica mail and the mails always go to spam and I have already add them to my friend lists in Hotmail.

Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) has started a couple of months ago.

      From their newsletter:

Building large-scale email solutions to send marketing and transactional messages is often a complex and costly challenge for businesses. To increase the percentage of emails that are successfully delivered, businesses must deal with hassles such as email server management, network configuration, and meeting rigorous Internet Service Provider (ISP) standards for email content. Additionally, many third-party email solutions require contract and price negotiations, as well as significant up-front costs.

I have never posted this before but I hate Aweber. They closed down my list
about 2 years ago without any warning. I was 5 days from the launch
of my biggest site at that point and when I tried to log in to send out a
pre-launch email my Aweber account was shut down.

Plus most of my other money making sites were dead because after
a free optin I show OTOs but because the optin didn't work people
got an error message. Basically my entire business was shut down.

After calling them they told me about one of my sites being listed on
some site like spamhaus and since my site contained an Aweber optin
    form they closed my account.

We had know about the Spamhaus listing and we were even working to get
it corrected which we did a week later.

Even after explaining this, showing that we were take off that spamhaus
listing, and even after Mike Filsaime called them to vouch that I was
a legit marketer they still closed my account and I got my 50,000 name
    list in a zip file.

We had to scramble to add GetResponse forms on 25 plus sites and
I launched my product without a list.

I just heard from another marketer last week with another story about
them shutting him down this month.

If you want to one day get your list you spent 2 years building sent to
you as a zip file then Aweber is the way to go.

Maybe something like Lyris or Responsys? If they ban my account, I'll just make a new mailchimp account and keep truckin'.

Someone guys here comment that one or other service cancel your account. All the autoresponders services has the option to backup/dowuload list and setup options. You must DO backup from them depend of your list growth.

One backup each 7 or 14 days or less, is a good rule to avoid nightmare in this sense. Like I comment above, depend of your list.

None of the autoresponder service is perfect, and they care much reputation.

From my point of view, iContact is more flexible in their services. It is cheaper (in small lists you save up to 60 USD per year compared to Aweber, imagine in large lists), payment through Paypal, and import the contacts without double optin.

Aweber is more restrictive, it has become the "standard" in autoresponders, and is used by many more people. So the comments are more abundant.

Currently emerging services like this, and see that they behave. One of the best tools we have people who are dedicated to Internet marketing is that there is competition in this regard, in order to choose the one that best suits our needs.
