Best or shall I say easiest Mind Mapping software is?

Hi everyone, Which mind mapping software do you use? I am looking to make maybe 2 mind maps for now so free would be good but I don't mind paying either. I am looking for an easy to use software as I don't want to spend 2 hours learning it.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What is this "mind-mapping" software I keep hearing about? I mean, you have your brain, what more do you need?

      Hey Jan,

The mind map that I use is called, Free Plane
You can get it free at this website:

Freeplane - free mind mapping and knowledge management software

      It's a wonderful mind-mapping software and it's FREE.

It may be a little confusing at first, but once you play around with it for a few minutes or so you'll get the hang of it and easily start creating your mind maps.

      Hope this helps.

I love iThoughtsHD on the iPad. Especially as I can fire up the iPad in seconds if I have an idea.

I have only just got into mindmapping and let me tell you once you try it you will not look back. Each time I create a new product I'll be mindmapping all the way.

Freemind is free to use and so is Mindmeister.

My favourite is bubbl.us. It's free and does something cool when you delete a "bubble".

So that blind people can hate them as well.

freemind. You can learn how to use it in like 3 minutes, works on macs and pcs. I have done hundreds of hours of paid live webinar training with freemind. Overall probably sold over $500,000 to live classes where the content was 90% off a freemind mind map.

Who needs flashy when simple works so well? that's what freemind is - super simple. But works great.

Another vote for XMind. It's free, but it doesn't look it =)

I have been using MindMeister for about 5 months now and I like it. I usually register a new account for each project I'm working on. You get 3 free mind maps for each account. I probably don't use all the features available, but I use enough of it to layout my projects in a visual way. I really like the note features as it helps you remember key points at a later date.

MindMeister's super frustrating if you try and use it as a collaborative tool. If you're rolling solo, it's fine. But in that case, you might as well use Omnigraffle and get a wireframing tool out of it as well.

Tried Mindjet which is amazing but very expensive. Mindjet had a free trial period a couple of years ago. Don't know if it still does.

GoalEnforcer (desktop) does a similar thing and even their top version which I use is at a fraction of the cost of Mindjet.

I plan all my site projects on Goal Enforcer where it provides facilities for start and end dates and even gives you a visual reading of the % of tasks completed in each sub-section of your project. Invaluable for planning and keeping track of things to do to completion and highly affordable.

Give it a try. There's a 60 day money back guarantee.

Seeing the interest in this subject, I posted up an webinar that I ran about Mind Mapping on my blog.

      Yiou can find it here:

      Mindmap Mastery | Martin Percival

Forgive the quality, it was my first gotowebinar video conversion The actual tools get covered from about 13 minutes in if you already have a grasp on the concepts.

There's nothing to buy here, you don't even have to sign up if you don't want to.
