Hey guys,

I just see this banner on the WF forum, clicked through $147 product, claims to get you 30-90k backlinks during the entire year....

The Ultimate Link Building Dossier - By Duncan Carver - not affiliate link, direct link to site.

Does anyone have any results / comments about this, have you tried it, does it work, do you know anyone else who has tried it, can they comment on it?

Cheers

Yeah Loz, $147 is pretty steep for a "dossier" which I assume is a fancy word for a pdf file. For that kinda price, it better be da kine!

Funniest thing is: Same moment I got to this review thread, there was a big Ad Banner up at the top of the page, from Tristan over at Guru Overwhelm, ranting about all the tricky Gurus cheating you out of money for the next shiny silver bullet. Like, maybe, $147 for this one

(When did Warrior start allowing those Ad Banners on every page...not sure I like that...kinda undermines the credibility of this whole forum)

Anyway, this one's gonna need some serious reviews from those who actually tried it over time, to see if it floats.

    Hi Guys,

This is one of my products.

It was only "soft launched" to my own readers this Tuesday so I doubt there is anyone that's going to post a review here for awhile. The first customers to order are most likely still studying (if they've even found or taken the time yet). This is also why there is no customer feedback on the website.

All I can say if you're looking for the magic bullet don't waste your time.

This is as much about the right mind set and how to structure your focus as it is about following the techniques I discuss in the book. It's also about cutting out all of the crap and clutter associated with SEO to help remain you focused and efficient.

However if you're not prepared to put in the work to get the results (or invest to outsource), then you're not going to see any, it really is as simple as that. If you skim read the book - rather than printing it off, getting comfortable, and reading it in detail for a several hours to absorb the total picture - well it's just not going to "click". You then of course need to "take action".

Anyways just wanted to give you a heads up - I saw a position open up for the banner advertising in the forums yesterday so thought I would take it for a spin as I've always wondered how effective that would be.

    Best...

    Duncan Carver

@ Loz - "The only thing i turned my bottom lip up to, is this directory submitting stuff... not exactly what i call quality links... but hey.... if directory submissions is all its about... i'll pass... already got directory submitter that has over 2500 directories in it, and i can tell ya, what a waste of time."

...everything is relative - directory submissions are not going to shoot you to the top of the search engines in markets like "Forex" and "Online Business" - however they are a very easy and cheap source of incoming links, and if structured correctly they can go a really long way to improving the theming structure you're creating for your website. It's about laying down a solid foundation to build upon and I talk a lot about "link value" in the book to help put things in perspective for readers.

The fact is in less competitive niches, directory submissions and a few articles distributed out to article directories can be all it takes if you structure everything correctly focused around a core set of realistic keyword terms. Again, it's all relative - if you're going after rankings for competitive terms in the fierce "forex" niche you're looking at a 2 year plus focused and structured link building plan to get results - unless you're prepared to invest $5-10k+ p/m in "strategic advertising" to help you get there in 6-12 months and then maintain that investment for 12 months of course (and businesses do).

No reviews and $150 to boot? It sounds good but that's a pretty hard sell for me. I'll wait for testimonials, scarcity be damned.

      Hi ya,

Its not just the forex mate... i've been doing SEO for about 4 years now, and I know a LOT about it, im responsible for creating the SEO Elite and KE Elite 1.0 and 2.0 videos and PDF for Brad Callen, so im pretty well atuned how to do SEO the right way!

Even with very low competitive niches, directory submitting for backlinks is a waste of time, the quality of links are bad due to the way the directory sites are designed. And for some directories, it takes ages to get your listing indexed.

Then there's a problem with too many outbound and inbound links, making it even worse, this time and effort is put to waste.

If you have any other methods of getting backlinks, it would be great if you can tell everyone here...

And at $147, dont you think thats a bit steep?

      regards

      Loz

        LOL...seriously?

Most of the products out there these days being launched by the big dawgs will cost you thousands of dollars...and for the most part are nothing but rebrands of products done 2 years ago...LAME.

$147 for a product that provides even SOMEWHAT original information that does what it says on the tin is a STEAL these days.

I've not seen this product, nor do I know the person(s) that created it. I just thought the statement I quoted was funny coming from you considering some of the products, and pricing I have seen you defend in the past.

"A lot" is clearly subjective. You must be playing at seo as opposed to actually doing it if this is what you believe, lol. Otherwise, you never would have posted it.

          Hi

I haven't purchased yet but Duncan is a guy who really knows his stuff, with his network of links he must have some interesting knowledge. A few years back I was a member of a live case study he done covering niche product creation, seo and some ppc tactics. The material in that course was top notch ( much better than most WSO's based on theory) and this is just a tiny part of what he seems to cover in the dossier according to the salesletter.

Just compare the salesletter and the topics he covers compared to some of the crap currently selling at clickbank that do their best to cover what the product DOES NOT involve but fail to tell you what the product is ! ( A Blank Offer ).

Well I took duncan up on his offer and I bought the book. It's a 200 page ebook that walks a person through how to structure his site properly for seo and reveals quite a few methods to gathering links to your pages that you want ranked.

In my opinion it is only for beginners new to seo and link building. Any seasoned link builder probably won't find anything new in it and therefore won't find any value in it.
But for someone who is new to seo and link building it is a great resource.

Highly recommend it for the newbies. Don't recommend it for the seasoned link builder.

On a side note Duncan customer service is top notch.

With full disclosure, the reason why I came to this thread is because I am about to promote the product and wanted to find out what other customers also thought about the product.

There is a saying that the crux of the bible is about loving your neighbour as you would yourself and that the rest of the bible is a commentary on it.

That's kind of how I feel about SEO and this product.

If you want the real secrets about SEO, they are to do 2 things:

      1. Make sure that your page/site is optimised for the keyword phrase that you are targeting

      2. Build up as many links as possible to your website - the more relevant that they are and the more credibility that they have the better

      The rest really is commentary.

But it is that commentary that really has the most importance.

And 18th Century philosopher called Ramchal spoke about the fact that when you learn something, you generally know that info already but by learning it, it reminds you that you know it.

      So, what's my point?

If you have been in internet marketing for more than around 5 minutes (and especially if you are an oldtimer Dave M and Duncan) then you probably know how to do SEO and what it encompasses.

But 99% of us are probably not doing everything that we should be.

If you are, then great and you are probably VERY rich

But if not, then this is a blueprint of exactly what you should be doing.

      And my last point...

Referring to the product itself, there are definitely a LOT of things that I learnt about SEO and/or linkbuilding which I wasn't aware of before. Probably not 'secrets', but stuff that I just wasn't aware of. This is definitely not just for newbies, but for everyone who wants more traffic at any level

It is not a magic bullet

It is not a blue pill

It is not even a red pill

However, if you are serious about driving more traffic to your website and want a strategy with longevity then that is what you will find here.

(First proper post of mine on WF for about 8 months so felt good to get that off my chest )

Me too Ben... and for the second time in my life (and in this past week), I actually asked for a copy to review with the intent to promote it to the list of Aussie businesses who have listed their site with my (long established) Aussie web directory.

Duncan's 200+ page pdf - Wow! I couldn't put it down (literally) and read it cover to cover! And I will go back over it again and again, well into the future.

Many of the business people I talk with are "looking" for advice on extra ways to build backlinks to their websites... but as is often the case, they are far too busy running their businesses to give full attention to their website.

The reality is (I'd estimate) that probably 95% of these people do NOT do enough to promote their website.

Duncan's "commentary" on SEO and various backlinking techniques should inspire them to take some action!

Is it worth the money? Hell yeah!

OK - I didnt pay for it but if you need to invest in some training about what SEO really is all about... and what to look for to develop useful backlinks... then this is totally legitimate and very worthwhile business expenditure.

        Cheers
        Stephen Spry

P.S. I'm making it a point of asking for review copies now in light of two recent CB purchases I made for review purposes. Both of them were total crap and warranted an immediate refund request!

But NOT this one - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

There are various sorts of backlinks. Some are of high qualty, some are not. Some last; others do not. While it is my prejudice, I recommend quality article marketing supplemented by links to those articles. This approach requires attention to detail, which most article marketers don't provide.

Depending upon your conversion statistics, such article marketing can make the long term difference between profit and loss. However, effectve article marketing is not inexpensive as most article marketers claim.

You need to include keyword research, artcle writng, rewriting, syndication, and more, before you consider the overall cost. For example, each key phrase may cost you $100 or more, so you must consider eventual profit for that keyword. However, I shall consider actual key phrase potential and make recommendations accordingly.

As far a I am concerned pricing is totally subjective. What you have to look at is the relevancy of the product that is offered and what you would expect your ROI would be on your purchase. If you are looking for credibility, Duncan Carver is one of the best and for those who don't know him, I would suggest subscribing to his free newsletter at Internet Marketing Advice By Duncan Carver - Online Marketing Dude....
