My First Five Days with BlogcastFM Premium: A Membership Site Review

Last week I eagerly chicken typed my credit-card details into the ClickBank shopping cart and enrolled in the BlogcastFM.com Premium membership site for the introductory price of $9.95 a month. (Price goes up November, 19th.)

If you're not familiar with the website, it's run by two ambitious upstarts Sid Savara and Srinivas Rao that host podcast interviews with everyone from unknown bloggers to A-list digital entrepreneurs each week. Some of the more notable interviews include names like Dave Navarro, Yaro Starak, Jade Craven, and Ramit Sethi.

Instead of conjuring my own high-hifalutin description of the site, decide whether or not their flavor of blog-oriented podcasts strikes your fancy here: http://blogcastfm.com. Oh yeah, all the interviews are free.

If you're serious about turning your blog into a business, it's worth a visit.

On to the review.

So what's the point of BlogcastFM Premium anyway? Well, for me it's about making a shift from blogging for personal reasons--pleasure, a little fame, whatever--to blogging as a business.

Of course, just because you're blogging with the intent of making money doesn't mean it can't be fun. Quite the opposite, but starting a blog as a business does assume a higher level of commitment than simply publishing feelings at your leisure.

So if you are indeed serious about taking your blog to the next level, here's what the BlogcastFM Premium Membership has to offer:

Action Worksheets and Interview Mind Maps: In addition to the audio podcast published for free on the blog, membership grants access to numerous worksheets and mind maps that act as action items for select interviews.

Love podcast interviews, but can't recall the action steps after they end? Me too. Problem solved.

Members-Only Forum: The biggest benefit to enrolling in BlogcastFM Premium for me is the membership forum by far.

Right now the premium membership is still relatively small. That translates to a huge opportunity for new members because you can get regular access to Savara and Rao who are very active in responding to questions and interacting on the forum.

As the community gets larger getting those one-on-one interactions might not be possible.

It's easier to make connections with other community members as well since there's not the conversation overload or existing relationships that can discourage new folks from getting involved with more established forums.

Of course, no review would be complete without a little good-natured ball busting. So here goes my try at constructive criticism.

BlogcastFM.com built their brand on delivering a hard-drive's worth of podcast interviews in one location. But there are no exclusive members only podcast interviews for paying members.

This is conscious decision on the part of the Savara and Rao, but getting access to one exclusive interview per month would definitely make me feel like there was added value past the pay wall. After all, the actual interviews are what got me into them in the first place--I can't get enough.

Or maybe I'm just a greedy little golem that wants to keep a few of those prized interviews for myself. The precious!

Ball busting done.

Seriously though, if you want to take your blog to the next level and like audio learning, check out BlogcastFM.com.

If you dig it, want to help ensure the continuation of exceptional content, and connect with a growing group of influential bloggers enroll in BlogcastFM.com Premium before the price goes up!
