Magic Niche Finder

I did a search and saw nothing about magic niche finder in this subforum so I wanted to make a post/review/discussion about it. For nich research it was and could be a serious helpful tool. I know the owner is on here and had/has a sales thread. i'm going to go and re read that after posting this, just to make sure I got everything right. But my story is based on fact and i believe it to be a good un-biased review, due to the fact I loved the software when it worked.

During the summer I picked up the tool called "Magic Niche Finder" It was an amazing program for someone like me who can't think like common people. It brainstormed keywords of all interests and then scraped all of them for related wonder wheel like keywords. It was sort of like a "keyword snatcher" tool but it scraped all your generated keywords like crazy and needed decaptcher or you would go insane. Since Keyword snatcher is no longer sold this was my only option other than using the tools in scrapebox to wonder wheel scrape. The choice to buy magic niche finder was clear in my mind. It was the most expensive software I have bought to date for my work in marketing. But I felt it was worth it because it did what I could not, and made the huge lists I needed to bang out micro niche sites.

I used it for about a month for the beginning of my niche research to generate about two hundred thousand random niche keywords. I then spent few months after researching them in Market Samurai and building sites. When I returned to gather more I had found that the program has NOT been updated to reflect Google's changes. The author decided in stead to make a "pro" version which I believe will be monthly cost.

A great idea!... IF you are HIM! The original $197.00 tool is now totally worthless and if you want to be able to do anything like what it does you have to wait for this new pro version. Also you need to fork over more money... MONTHLY! That to me made it so I will never buy something from that developer ever again. It is what is called bad business. He figured 197 a pop wasn't making him rich enough so he decided to keep up an annual payment plan. This way he doesn't have to keep updating a program for "free" nor does he have to give current license holders free updates any more. Total screwing, not an opinion but a FACT.

I know they don't want "bashing" in here for reviews. So I am giving nothing but honesty. I don't curse the guy or anything but I'm out 197 bucks for a desktop icon. If I had known it would be abandoned so soon after I bought it I would never have bought it in the first place.

The program was awesome when it worked and it helped me. But that does not change the fact that the developer did not have to abandon his customers totally. I know he is giving some 1 month free or whatever to the new "pro" version but that's really adding insult to injury for those that bought the program within the last 4 months.

I understand the desire to have a monthly paid software. As a developer I would want the same thing, it pays your "salary" so to speak as you develop the software and keep it updated. If it had come out as one I would have gladly bought it if it were a reasonable price, something like no more than 15-20 bucks a month. And I would still be paying for it and using it. But to switch in the middle in a way such as to screw old customers out of updates is just unacceptable.

What I would like to see is the old "non pro" version still updated once the new one starts bringing the author the residual income he seems so sorely in need of, but I doubt that is going to happen.

This is not as much a review as it is a discussion about the software and the authors practices. I would really like to hear from fellow customers and even more so hear from the developer. I believe that staying on top of software in our market is of the utmost importance and have a few different softwares I am always researching. Ones I own and ones I want to own.

For instance due to this subforum I found out "SEO Elite" was abandoned by it's authors as well. I was on the verge of buying it this week and someone here saved me that trouble. That is what I want to find out when I come to this forum, it's mainly why I even come here. I hope they don't pull any Gestapo act on my thread just because it is not an overly positive review.

So to finish, I believe the "pro" version will be a good product, I just won't be standing behind it due to feeling cheated as a loyal paying customer. What do people think about "Magic niche Finder" and my observations of it?

I mostly want to hear from current owners, and people planning on getting the "pro" version.

    I feel your pain. I'm in the same position.

    I think there was a refund available for those who had only had it a certain amount of time.....I missed the deadline by 3 days

    As for jumping from a one-off (fairly steep by WF standards) price to a monthly cost of almost the same and offering only a single month's worth of compensation time to existing users, well I'm in the same place as you.

    It was an awesome tool...now it's just taking up space on my hard drive and I can't see my way to recommending a future program that may get as much customer care as this one.

    I know, how about the loyal customers get access to the old "too difficult to fix" source code and we make it work ourselves Ho hum, back to dreaming again!

    • Thank you for your kind reply! I have had bad experience with this forum in the past when doing any critical analysis of a program or offer sold here. Usually the post would be deleted by a "mod" if one could call whoever does that a moderator. Or it receives no support from other members, perhaps out of fear. I don't want to be a ball buster, I just want to shed light on things that have hurt me and can hurt others.

      I'm glad to see other customers in outrage at such a bad business practice and that I'm not the only one hurt and angered by this. As a forum there should be a respect of the buyers as well as the sellers. For we may not be paying the "listing fees" the mods and admins are so inclined to protect but we pay the "program fees" that make those listing fee's possible! We are forum members too and I hate for a forum to feel like a dictatorship where ones mind can not be spoken against a bad product or developer, regardless of how much money he/she has spent here on the forum.

      I really want others to voice their opinion on this so maybe we can get some form of compensation on this issue, as well as stand together to say "I ain't having this" or "You lost a customer for life buddy"!

      So thank you for being the first member with the courage to assist me in speaking out. Lets cross our fingers and hope this is not deleted because of favoritism...

  • Al munchkin has been branded a scammer on a few other forums and countless blogs. I can't comment on whether or not the accusations are true however after all the reading I dug up on his software and practices, I would never buy a product from him just to be safe.

    From what I have seen it is clear that business on that level is complete screwing. There is no opinion involved when you can clearly see that a person abandons any product to make more money. Had magic niche finder been a monthly paid tool from the start I would have respected the work done. And if it were reasonably priced I would have owned it then and still owned it.

    But that guy burnt his bridges with way too many people. He will be lucky to sell his new product to newbies and people who know nothing of the past product. But for me and many others, we will be using the other tools out there. The tool from Brad C looks promising, but I dunno about that guy either, he seems good and legit. But there are rumors all over about everyone then I guess. Has either of you bought his niche tool yet? And are there any other alternatives out there? I really need a nich research tool to come before MS in my research routines!

    • Wow I can't believe someone voted that they will be using the new version. I don't know if it's true but I heard that the monthly price was not a cheap one. Despite the royal sticking this developer has given his old customers, why would anyone want to pay monthly to do keyword research that used to be a one time payment? Especially when there are not strong competitors out there with one time pay software allowing you to do the same work.

      Guess it goes to show there is a sucker born every minute. And that's why shady business will always work out for the unscrupulous.

    • Did you read my first post? Because within it I explained that market samurai is part of my research routine. The kind of tool I need is nothing like market samurai. The only similarity is they both "work with" keywords.

      There was a disconnection somewhere I believe.

      Magic Niche Finder was nothing like Market Samurai or Micro Niche Finder, it was more like "Keyword Snatcher". Anyway the thread's point is far from what I'm trying to explain in this post.


  • This is terrible! I would be fuming if that was the case. Scraping google adwords now is not for little boys. Honestly I'm still trying to figure it out to work correctly. Whoever sells a tool that scrapes adwords better be ready for frequent changes. I had it working fine, and the next day it was all messed up. Ideally I would love to have the traffic numbers in my software, but you can always save a csv file...

    I wrote a keyword tool that brainstorms keywords off about 20 different places. It does not use adwords at all. It can easily pull 500 keywords from a seed. I use it for my work, I like having vocabulary to use in my articles. I can also pull broad match keywords, just entering a few letters bring tons of niches that contain those letters.

    I'm wondering if there is interest if it was released at a low pricepoint - like under $25 say? I would release it for free but I feel there will be support issues in the future that will take time for me to deal with.

    • Interesting! I believe ANY tool that is working for niche research will be HOT as a seller. It is the number 1 thing you must get right in internet marketing, and the tools for it are lacking. What that means is that the right tool will dominate and make good money. Think about the money you could make with your tool.

Because I am looking to work on getting such software out on the market for a small monthly fee. I know people would pay 5 to 15 bucks a month happily for something like this, because many will pay much more!

  • Consider me one of the "Magic Niche Finder" suckers. Purchased the product a few months ago (this summer?). Used it. Loved it, especially when I could dump the keywords into MSam.

    Haven't used it in a while. Tried using this week again. Realized it was broken.

    Came to WF today to see what's up. Now I'm aggravated beyond belief that this guy offered/sold a product ($100+) that no longer works.

    I have recieved NO communications from the developer period in the last few months, so I had no idea this tool went kerplunk.

    To all: STAY AWAY from this developer and his tools.
  • Agreed ... I have been chaing this guy for months to no avail - he still is active on WF but does not respond to support emails

    If MNF Pro can be run in VB.net then this seller should have the version reprogrammed in VB.net so that it can handle the Java based Google Keyword tool!
  • Won't be using it. I own Market Samurai. Even if I didn't, from what I see here, the ethics are in question and that makes me nervous.
