Help - Looking For A Good Auto Responder

I have made my own research on auto responder and all that I have come across do have the following:
- a short period of trial - ie - USD 1 for the 1st month.

I am looking for one that offer a certain number of subscribers FOC (say 500) and as long as I have not exceeded that number, it is still on "trial" basis. You see, it is taking some time for newbie like me to build a list quickly as it is a learning curve. And I have been "leaking" subcription after the 1st month trial is over and my subsribers no is still small (<50). That is why I am looking for a solution where I pay little if the no is below a certain level.

Or should I get a free auto responder? Not so keen but I hope to keep the cost down.

Appreciate if any of you warriors out there have a solution for me.

Thanks.

    Aweber all the way.

The first month is $1. After that it's $20 a month, unless you build a high subscriber count before then.

Aweber has more options/customization, etc than I could begin to mention.

List building is paramount to a serious online entrepreneur. I'd strongly suggest making the investment in a top notch auto responder.

    • Couldn't agree more Ryan... Aweber is also really easy to use.

Also many of the top new WordPress themes such as JVPress and Optimize Press support easy integration of Aweber so it is really going for an top autoresponder and well worth the relatively small investment.

AWeber all the way! You said it right...It's one of the best investment ever. If you're looking for a very long term online business then you need Aweber to take care of your email marketing technicalities.

      Good Luck!

Aweber and Getresponse are both GREAT... but they cost... Like Catchingeye said, go with Mailchimp, you can have up to 1,000 subscribers per month and send up to 6,000 emails per month completely free!

I've been using them for a while now and have found them 1st class! You can build up your list and you don't have to worry about paying for it every month until you are making money!

If you have a mailing list or plan to build a mailing list, then deliverability should be on your mind. Aweber has a very high deliverability rate and has a wide range of analytics. Going with a lower grade service because its free doesn't make sense in the long run.

Exactly. You get what you pay for. Just because something is free or cheap does not necessarily mean you should run out and get it. If they worked as well then we would all be using them.

Incase you didn't guess, another vote for Aweber here.

      Hi there,
I've heard mail chimp is pretty reliable, but aweber is really the way to go. As someone said in a previous post, your list is like gold, and aweber will treat them that way. The have a great track record.

    Greetings douglasltc,

Since you are new to list building, I would recommend you to seriously check out Imnica Mail. It has almost all the features as Aweber and is a lot cheaper too. I have seen top internet marketers like Martin Avis use Imnica Mail. Later, you can shift to Aweber when you start pocketing some cash.

GetResponse and Aweber are also really good but, they cost more.

Avoid free autoresponders like MailChimp. You can't do affiliate marketing using MailChimp; it's against their To's.

Building a 'responsive' list is the core of internet marketing; do not take it lightly. Invest in a top-notch autoresponder. Choose any one from Imnica Mail, Aweber, and GetResponse and you won't go wrong.

    Hope this helps..

Sorry, but, that makes no sense to me. If top Internet marketers like Martin Avis is using it, AND you're happy with it, then WHY shift to Aweber later when you have more money?!

I have said this before, I am going to say it again now, and I am sure I am going to say this at least a million times in 2011.....

ALL AutoResponder companies have SOME kind of trial.

      1. Make a list of the MUST have features you're looking for.

      2. Make a list of the nice to have features.

      3. Create test accounts on Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail.

      4. Browse the AutoResponder web sites, and see how much information you can get on the 1st and 2nd points. Any sites which does not have the all the features you listed in point 1, scratch them off the list.

      5. Test all the features, as well as deliverability, AS WELL AS support responsiveness.

Now, after you have done all of this, make an INFORMED decision, and STOP listening to everyone regurgitating the SAME tired old line of xxxxxx is the best in the world and will never be beaten!

You may notice that not once did I mention price! An AutoResponder is SUCH an important part of your online business that money should NOT EVER be an issue when it comes to choosing one!

Now, STOP being SHEEP, and figure out what is best for YOU!

Get AWeber they are simply the best. Deliverability is what counts. Aweber has been in the business for long and they through their usage policies and relationships ensure that they don't get blacklisted.

I have a feeling we'll both be saying this a lot Richelo...

Aweber is a good service, but it's not the only service available. They were one of the first, and because of that, this forum has turned into a parrot... someone says Aweber, and everyone else just repeats it.

I've tested a lot of the free, and paid services myself, and as Richelo said... look at the features that YOU want, and make a decision for yourself.

That being said, I'm going to have to disagree on one point... your budget, and the price of the service should definitely have an impact on your decision. Autoresponders are becoming more like hosting companies these days, and if you're not being budget conscious, you're going to allow the bigger companies to keep charging outrageous fees...

And although many services to offer a trial, you'd better look at the price to maintain your list once you start seeing some success. When is the price going to jump from $20 a month, up to $50, or $250, or sometimes even more? What are the limits on sending broadcast messsages? ( did you know some services only allow 7 or so per month? )

        Amen.

Aweber is an option, sure... but let's not forget about a few of their recent problems in terms of account security. There seemed to be a lot of people flaming mad when it happened... how soon we all forget.

BTW... did you hear there was this oil spill a few months ago? Oh... forgot about that already too? DOH!

This does not make sense at all to me. If you try to transfer your lists from Imnica to Aweber at some later point in time, Aweber will require double opt-in confirmation from everyone on your existing lists, and this is almost always going to result in you losing some (and perhaps many) subscribers along the way.

I prefer Aweber. They have it at just a buck for the first month, and then it goes to $20 a month for the base amount. The price does go up depending on how many subscribers you have.

The autoresponder feature is great, easy to use, etc....

I think getresponse is the best option. You can have a 100 subscribers before they start charging and their prices are reasonable. It's a little more fiddly to use than aweber, but once you get used to it, it's a great autoresponder.

It seems that Aweber is the popular choice, so I need to ask:

Why is Aweber better than Get Response?

Does it make sense for someone just starting out or just testing the IM waters to pay $20 a month for a list that he/she may or may not acquire?

    And one more thing...

For everyone claiming that Aweber has the best delivery rates... I'd be willing to bet my house that 99.9% of people making that claim have never actually tested it for themselves.

Testing delivery rates is going to be a months long process, over a minimum of at least 100 unique email addresses, over at least 10 separate providers. If someone has done the testing, and has the data to share backing up the "accepted" fact that Aweber has the best delivery rates over a significant period... I'd love to see it.

And before someone jumps in and says "Check SenderScore"... that's not an accurate reflection on delivery rates or anything else... and SenderScore themselves tell you that right on their own website.

    GetResponse.

I've been using it for almost 3 years..

It has good services and features.

I will not suggest you to use free ones, because its limitations, and vurnerability.

If you choose the wrong one, you will get trouble in the future than benefits in your business.

    Just my suggestions...
