From Experience, Which Web Hosting Company Has the Best LIVE Support System?

I just decided to host some of my newly acquired domains with Namecheap but there was a problem along the line. What?

One of the sites was showing "Server Down" for about 48 hours ago. I became worried then remembered that NC has a LIVE support system. I signed in for a live chat and the problem was instantly fixed.

I'm not an affiliate of NC neither am I an affiliate of any web hosting company but I'm impressed with this kind fix-it-quick kind of service.

Sincerely, do you know of any domain registrar or web hosting company that offers a similar or even a better LIVE support service?

    • Dedipower.com - telephone, email or support ticket, either way service is always good.

      Plus if you mail from your server they know not to shut you down just because of the odd spam complaint, unlike a lot of US based hosting companies.

    In my experience, it's Verio. Hands down.

    They have the best tech support I've ever encountered in a big company. They're tied with Sam Stephens and Sid Hale, for that matter. That's no small feat, as anyone who's dealt with those two gents will attest. Except Verio is 24/7, and Sam and Sid have to sleep.

    I've been with Verio for 13 years. I have two servers with them, and expect to be adding a third in the next couple of months. I use other hosts, but none of them come close in terms of support. They're not the cheapest around ($300/mo for a managed private server), but they're the best I've dealt with.

    If you're on a budget, consider their FreeBSD virtual server. It's something like $85/month, and it's stable as anything I've used.

    Several years ago I moved all my sites to Pagematic. The phone and email support are unreal. Even though they have a full support staff, co-founder Jim Nelson, who wrote the Varpro multi-user autoresponder, stays active in daily operations. The alarms they have to notify them of a server issue are so loud they could probably wake the dead. When anything happens, they call me instead of waiting for me to call them.

    Rackspace. We've had some pretty complicated technical issues that they've been able to resolve for us in a matter of minutes. Instant help on the phone, speaking to a Linux tech. And they are pretty fast on tickets too.

    One of the main reasons I switched to Wired Tree a few years back is their exceptional customer support. I don't think they have "live" chat, but the way they run their help desk, it's just as good, IMO. Most help tickets get answered within 5 minutes (even in the middle of the night). The longest I've ever had to wait was @ 10 minutes. And they're always very helpful and knowledgeable, even when it comes to super-technical stuff.

    Obviously, they run a very tight ship over there.

    But the bottom line is - ALL hosts are going to have minor technical issues from time to time, so definitely make sure you pick one that has good, prompt customer support!

    I've been using lovinghosting.com for years.. not a big hosting company but the server uptime and support is excellent... no time to transfer host yet.. I am very much satisfied..

      I just used shared hosting right now, but I use both Hostgator and Bluehost.

      They both have live chat. They have always managed to fix my problems whenever I stuff something up very quickly.

    I've been with Bluehost for over five years and their live (telephone) support is second to none. Instant solution to any technical problem and even help with something you may not have experience of doing for yourself. 24/7 365 days of the year! Downtime has been few over that period and lasted less than an hour or so, at most.

    Hostgator is next which has an equally good telephone technical support system in place which has not disappointed during the year or two that I've been with them.

    Both the above are on shared hosting and at affordable monthly rates.

    I've had other accounts with more expensive and "exclusive" hosting companies recommended by "gurus" who claimed to use the services themselves, but each hosting company failed miserably when it came to customer support or technical solutions. One kept me waiting for three days before responding to my query (telephone access was not avilable) and another was unable to provide a solution! Needless to say, I ceased to be a client of either years ago.

    I don't know about you but I never host my sites with the same company from which I buy my domains. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, and all that...!

    Hostgator period. Quick courteous response, live online chat, phone name it they've got it. I had a problem with one of accidental double charge, it was resolved in less than 24hrs with apologies. the live guy easily reached his supervisor for clarification and give an affirmative response while I was online with him
