Build A Blog Store (B.A.B.S) vs WPBlogamtic? Any Thoughts Please?

Hi fellow warriors,

I was wondering if anyone has used BABS of late and if they would be kind enough to share any thoughts on this blogging software and how well it functions and the support is..?

I was looking for the very best WP auto blogging plugin software program to build alot of niche sites and after much evaluating and alot of risk I purchased WPBlogmatic along with the training.. With Xmas in the way I havent had a chance to use it yet except go through the training manual and do my keyword niche research. I have since read stuff online and from BABS forum that the owner is claiming WPBlogamtic was ripped off from them.. It makes me rather uneasy especially as I had shelled out alot of coin to get it and have set aside January to set things up.. When I bought it to the the owner of wpblogmatics attention he told me it was a bunch of rubbish and that BABS owners had sour grapes and to his credit gave me what seemed an instant and valid looking in depth reason, however cant help but be on the alert and I am still sceptical, quite naturally I must say.

On WPBlogamtic forum there is no real activity from hundreds of members which i find abit strange maybe because they are all very new and going through the training manual first..

I was originally just going to get WPRobot to automate my blogs but after having seen how superior that WpBlogamtic claimed in its sales letter to everyother program out there, I went with it instead at a greater cost.. Much greater..!

I see now that Bobby who is behind WPblogmatic may have had his account banned here recently and having read the claims from BABS owner that it was stolen by a so called dubious sounding character named Umberto Tossani whom, according to BABS owner, is behind the alledged debarcle or so called scam if it rings true.. and if the case will have major issues as the version that was claimed to be stolen is old and has many bugs...therefor would make any blog sites peform like utter rubbish...

Having brought this to the attention of the owner Bobby and requested technical assistance (waiting 3 days now) if I dont feel confident in wpblogamtic and the legitimacy of it then I will be asking for my money back and buying BABS instead seeing as especially it has training videos also and wpblogmatic does not... which is kind of odd considering the price.. is the same..

Ok warriors please come to save the day and help me out here.. I have been burnt too many times in the past and I just want to get to work and not lose any more time and money..

Best regards,

Fellow Warrior:confused:

I'm in the same boat. Purchased WP-Blogmatic many weeks ago, and am awaiting an updated version with bug fixes. I had no idea about the BABS issue (or non-issue?) when I bought it.

I don't know the legalities of it all, but I do know $400 is a lot of money to me and my family, and I sure hope the folks behind all this get their act together or I'll be requesting a refund as well. Sorry can't be more positive about it, but I'm in the holding pattern as well with it.

WPBlogmatic was a nightmare from the beginning. Finally gave up trying to install even a single blog, and sent three emails requesting a refund. All three were ignored, no reply. Finally, requested a refund via PayPal, and WPBlogmatic denied the refund, and cited their refund policy, which clearly reads 60 days.

I've escalated this within PayPal to a claim, and PayPal just notified me they had a response from WPBlogmatic and were going to review both sides.

The WPBlogmatic forums are a ghost town.... I was beginning to wonder if I was one of six people who bought.

I've probably purchased 20 WSO's since I've been a member, and this is the ONLY one that went sideways. Unfortunately, it was also the most expensive.

    Hey illumina8 & Ridgway,

Would you be so kind to keep us posted with your refund process and let us all know what is happening? Can do by PM if don't want to post it. I'm trying to decide what to do, but have some other projects I'm working on, so kind of backburnering this problem child for the moment.

Also, are either of you considering the BABS software as replacement when you get refund? I'm thinking on that one too, but my brain hurts!

Thank you both very much for any help or pointers!

Never used either of those so I am not really familiar with them, but it sounds kinda like Datafeedr. That's the service I use to create all of my afiliate stores with wordpress. They have great customer service, as well. If you guys got hosed with Babs you may want to check them out as it may be the kind of blog software you are looking for.

Hey all, finally heard from the elusive bobby.. he said he has processed a refund and that beacuse i took it up as a chargeback with paypal it will take longer.. is this true? I emailed him to ask to action a full refund and reasons why.. that day i called paypal and told them the guts of it so they escalaited it to dispute and said if they dont get reply within 10 days then automatic refund to me.. but all said if hes honerable as he said then he has actioned it so dont see what delay could be caused..

I don't want to comment much for WPBLOGMATIC, but you guys should ask for refund of it and read this one - WPBLOGMATIC SCAM — WPBLOGMATIC IS STOLEN SOFTWARE! DO NOT SUPPORT PIRATES!
    WPBLOGMATIC SCAM

    Original News -
" A lawsuit was filed against wpblogmatic.com on December 24, 2010 and served on the defendants. They had 14 days to respond to the court but failed to do so. On January 7, 2010, they were enjoined from selling any product that utilizes the BuildaBlogStore code. This means that they cannot sell legally sell wpblogmatic until they appear in court on February 4, 2010. As of this writing, they have yet to respond to the court so I doubt that they will ever will. We have served notices to the wpblogmatic host (Servint), Amazon Web Services, their shopping cart and PayPal. All have agreed to suspend their accounts. But they are a sneaky bunch and have been moving to different hosting and PayPal accounts. If you get a live buy link from wpblogmatic.com, please send this to piracy AT buildablogstore.com so we can keep besting these guys down.
In the meantime, here is a link to the Court Order should anyone still not believe that I am telling you the truth: wpblogmatic lawsuit "

    Hi Everyone -

Just wanted to chime in here, because I was one of the original beta testers, and actually wound up buying the license, as it allows you to flip blogs built with it.

I have had a couple of problems with the plugin, but have to say that in both cases - I received responses from WPB almost immediately. In fact, late yesterday, I was working on a new installation, and couldn't the license key to generate, I sent an email to William, and had a response within an hour. He asked for my ftp details, but I was already offline. I sent them this morning and again, a response within an hour.

I really had not been in the forum until I saw this post today, and yes, I am rather surprised that it is not more active - but I can also say that I know of a lot similar forums that are ghost towns too, so not sure that that is really indicative of the product being a problem. There aren't many forums like the WF when it comes to activity.

Regarding the lawsuit: This is the first I have heard of it, but if you do some research online, you will see that Peter Bresko seems to have had a run in with PHPBayPro in 2008, but for the opposite reason, with Bresko's previous product which does not seem to be for sale anymore:
WP Auction Master - anyone using it?

PHPB accused Bresko of copying his code when he launched auctionmaster. I have contacted PHPBay to see if he can confirm this and the eventual result of the case, if it actually resulted in any further action, but I can't seem to find it for sale anymore?

I don't know who is right and who is wrong here, but as a customer that has had a different experience than those posted here, I did want to post my experiences as well.

For those that are not happy - if you want to pm me, I will be happy to pass your emails and contact details along to the WPB people.

For the record: William stated that there were no outstanding support tickets, and he seemed genuinely baffled when I advised him of this thread, so let's see where it goes from here -

I have not yet heard from anyone else on this thread that says they are waiting for support responses or refunds - my offer to contact WPB on your behalf still stands!

As of today and yesterday, I have had no less than 6 emails from 2 of their staff members while we try to sort out an issue - so I definitely have a dialogue going on at the moment.

From googling, many sites are reporting a counter-suit has been filed against Peter Bresko by the owners of WP-Blogmatic and the reports imply (not sure) that the suit he filed first has been thrown out due to lack of merit or substance or something. Everyone should do their own due diligence on the subject if you own or want to buy BABS or WP-Blogmatic to use. It appears that this story, like most, has two sides to it.

So far, the only person here that has contacted me is Skidog30.

I have been in almost constant contact with 2 different people at WPB over the last couple of days while they try to find the problem (and it may very well be with my host not the script).

I have also done my own checking of the facts surrounding both this current legal situation as well as Mr. Bresko's previous issues with the owner of PHPBay, and while obviously, I don't have ALL of the facts in the case, I do feel much more comfortable moving forward with WPB at this point.

Their service has been amazing, and again - anyone that cannot seem to get any response from them - please contact me and I will be happy to help!

Just to update everyone here. I got a refund from Paypal which took 10 days as such. I would like to conclude that I found this Booby character ( Bert Tassoni ) to be rather patronizing and difficult to deal with. Melody.. you come to the defense of wpblogmatic as if they are the best thing since IM... you said youre a beta tester.. well I was a full paying customer $397 for the program and another $597 for one on one training that I never received.. getting my email questions regarding training and topics in setting up was worse than getting blood from a stone.. they were never answered ever... this is a discrace for this kind of money..

after reading the negative claims that it was stolen made me nervous and when I rightly made the bobby person aware of this i was treated as if i was blaming him... as he got all defensive and quite pushy and rude by treating me like a little child and giving me the short ultimatum of if I was against him or with him as he didnt have time for this sort of conversation... well excuse me.. WHY did this stuff surface anyway??!! overall experience and time lost ...one of the very worst ever...! at least paypal came through..

so Melody.. I ask you this.. if afew of the members have already said that posts do not show up , videos, images and items are mismatched etc... then how well is it working for you..? making good money are we? lol

Anyway those who want to get refunded put as claim with Paypal asap.. theres enough evidence to suggest that it is fraudulent..

    peace!

    Illumina8 -

No need to attack me, since I was simply sharing MY experiences with the program, just as you had. No one attacked you personally, so please tone down the attitude a couple of notches with me, okay? I have offered to help anyone that has not had a good experience with the company.

I am NOT saying this is the best thing since IM, but having gone through the recent debacle with Massive Passive Traffic, where NO ONE received any support at all, and other similar situations, I will say that the support so far, IN MY CASE, has been excellent.

While I was indeed a beta tester - we did not get the 'final' version for free - I paid $397 for the program, but I have to admit I never saw any 'training' program for $597 or any other training program for that matter. Further, I have had no interaction with Bobby or Bert - only Mike and William, and both have been nothing but courteous and responsive to my queries.

I have WPB working on 5 sites, and it has been working fine, but as I mentioned in prior posts I am having an issue with an install on a different host, and we are trying to get it resolved.

As to filing a claim with PayPal - PP's policy in regards to a digital product is that you must get the seller to file the refund. Disputes for digital sales are automatically denied by PayPal - that is their policy and they stick to it.

As to the lawsuit - my personal research and information received from people outside of WPB who have had prior dealings with Mr. Bresko make me willing to give WPB the 'benefit of the doubt' until I have further facts in hand. I do not know all of the facts in the case, and I cannot state without equivocation which side is right, I only know based on the facts given to me by another business owner that has an excellent reputation, that I am willing to give WPB a bit longer to sort things out.

So, illumina8 (BTW -no picture and no name - both would help to establish your rep here!), again - I am not saying WPB is the best thing since IM. I am NOT attacking you or anyone else - just presenting the facts of MY experience with WPB and offering to assist anyone else that may be having problems with reaching them.

      This is an interesting Thread!

I don't believe I am involved, as though I have a B.A.N.S. program, I realise that it's something different (I only looked in here because I misread the title!!).

I can see the points that both Melody and Illumina8 are making here, and though I would certainly take off to 15000 feet myself if I'd spent this sort of loot on something that SEEMED both dodgy and worthless this IS meant to be a section of the Forum for reviews - hence both good and bad will be expected - so anyone using this section might expect comments that don't agree with their perspective.

As an observer only (in this case) I just ask for calm and a short reflection before replies are made that are not easily retracted and which might be quite upsetting for users just here to make sensible comments about their own experiences, expecting them to be read in that light.

(As a trained killer though, I have to add - "Exterminate-Exterminate!")

    John -

My problem here is that WPB was being soundly bashed by people that are all very new here, and my experience with the software has been very different than the viewpoints presented so far.

NO ONE on this thread - unless they are actually Mr. Bresko 'in disguise' or the owners of WPB, know the real details of the case. You cannot point to something posted online and say it's true just because it's posted online - which is the general theme of the thread here.

I DID take the time to contact the owner of PHPBay, and based on the facts from the prior issue that Mr. Bresko was involved in, as well as my own experience with both the software and the support, I am willing to stand back and see what happens here

I am not attacking anyone personally, simply trying to offer someone else's experience with the company, and offering to help anyone else that has not been able to get their issues or refunds resolved, since I seem to have a decent dialogue going on with the support team.

And believe me - I have lost more than enough money to scammers here in the forum already - I don't defend anyone lightly, and I am really not defending WPB - simply sharing my own experience, and additional details that may be pertinent to the situation.

All you have to do is google about previous lawsuits and other "dodgy" alleged activities by the BABS owner, and it is enough to give one pause and take a step back to consider all the facts.

All may not be as it appears at first broad brush stroke. Glad the unhappy folks got refunds though. At least that part was followed thru by the software sellers. IMO the jury is still out on this one as to the legal side of it. But the functionality of the software is a different issue altogether for sure! :-)

        Hi Melody,

I don't know how you're able to make contact with anyone at WPBlogmatic. I've sent in nine support tickets of which the last several have received no response. I've been asking for a refund since Dec. 24th to no avail. I would love it if you could get in touch with them for me and get me my refund. I can't PM as I don't have enough posts but you can email me: momsbiz05@gmail.com. Thanks.

Some heated exchanges, I hope everyone keeps in mind that others are just trying to pass on info, not sell the products.
I didn't try WPB but I did make the mistake of purchasing BABS last fall. It is a tough program to install, limited working options and no service to speak of. I found half the postings not working properly, especially the images. It is now sitting in a folder on my desktop titles "stuff".

LOL - yes, I agree. All I was trying to do was share info, and offer to help anyone that needed it, but I got hit over the head for my efforts.

But I will say that if I was trying to get a refund and the software did not work and I couldn't get a response - I would certainly be taking me up on the offer - and only one person has contacted me outside of this thread.

Melody, You need to stop taking my points so personally. No one can deny that the software is questionable and did not work properly. The training I paid for ...well.. I did not even get my support email questions answered after a week.. the owner got discruntled for sharing my thoughts about finding out about the accusations of pirating the software.. others I had spoken to about the software were very unhappy because it was not working and support was terrible and their refund requests were ignored or refused.
Thanks for trying to help out but I cant see why people would take your help when you are just a customer that sings their praises...
This was one of.. if not the worst mistake I ever have made investing online.. I will learn from it.. if there is no history from vendors or you have never heard of the creators before then ask why not....?!
Good luck others using this.. I still dont see any success stories being posted here about the software experience from any users.. beware BABS wpblogmatic etc...

Melody.. You said the following words... totally incorrect,,,!

"As to filing a claim with PayPal - PP's policy in regards to a digital product is that you must get the seller to file the refund. Disputes for digital sales are automatically denied by PayPal - that is their policy and they stick to it."

I contacted paypal and told them about the scam and claims about it being pirated software they take this very seriously...digital or not.. it was automatically escalated to a dispute claim.. they voted in my favour like they should have and anyone else who is concerned especially seeing it doesnt even work like it claims...!

    Peace all

P.S Oh and in addition to this matter. Anyone who has purchased this or is considering then do your due diligence on the owner of wpblogmatic.. Mr Umberto Tossani.. this man is a Melbourne, Australia based crooked businessman who was banned from being company director or working in direct sales because of ripping off innocent customers by not honouring refund policies, not delivering items etc.. to the tune of over $150,000 + you can google it and see the court records for yourself if you dont believe me.. heres a couple links...Australian Securities and Investments Commission - 04-253 Melbourne director banned from managing corporations

So when I asked Bobby about this and if he was Bert Tassoni he did not answer the question except said he did not know andrew Hall.. who is a business partner of his..and got quite defensive.. Would you really trust a crook with your money and believe what he says even if they respond to your support questions.. ?

illumina8 - first of all, I am not 'singing' anyone's praises! All I did was share my experiences with the company, and offer to help anyone that said they were unable to get a response from the company.

I sincerely apologize for offering to help anyone, okay? Does that make you happy now?

As to PayPal - well, I had a similar situation a couple of months ago, and PayPal's response was that until the case was resolved in the court, and the software was PROVEN to be pirated - they would not settle the claim. Yes, it was escalated to a dispute - but the funds were not returned, and I doubt that I will see them, even though I might technically win the dispute.

Glad for you that PP has decided to be more aggressive on your behalf.

Again - sorry for offering to help anyone. Should have known better and I certainly won't do that again!

Hi Melody, My apologies if I came on too strong and ruffled your feathers. I realise you were only trying to help out. I guess its a raw subject for me at least. Sorry to hear about your experience before as its just aweful to not get what you believed was so and paying good money towards. Paypal did a good job this time as I believed calling them and explaining the situation helped. All a good lesson to learn from the experience really.

Good luck I hope it works out for you and everyone else here invloved in anything similar.

Hey everybody, here's some actual facts, just in case this helps your decisions. These are the facts, not conjecture or 3rd party hearsay (those follow later.)

      - BuildABlogStore was developed by Peter Bresko. Throughout the BuildABlogStore website & documentation, he uses the name Steve Porter. But there is no Steve Porter, that's just a pseudonym for Peter Bresko of Butler, New Jersey. This has been verified.

      - Wade Wells, the owner of phpBay, did indeed accuse Bresko of stealing part or all of the phpBay code for BABS, and filed a lawsuit, but dropped it after he saw how much of his money & life were being taken over by pursuing Bresko.

      - Umberto Tassoni of Melbourne, AU, bought Bresko's earlier program, BloggingMaster, and complained it didn't work right, he couldn't get good support from Bresko, and then couldn't get a refund of the $4700 he said he invested. He became a venomous flamer of Bresko and BABS, right here on this forum, and was banned under many Warrior forum accounts he created with false names. Bresko claimed that the real reason Tassoni was so angry was because he asked for the rights to the actual BloggingMaster code, and Bresko wouldn't give it to him.

Opinion Break: If Tassoni is indeed the man behind WPBlogmatic, it would certainly fit that he pirated some/all of BABS. He wanted the code, and he made no secret of wanting to take Bresko down.

OK now back to verified facts :

      - BABS is actually a good autoblogging program that has made good money for people who put up sites with it...when everything works smoothly. But there have been many glitches and customers who couldn't get it to load/post right. Bresko's support (acting as Steve Porter) has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous. Many customers have reported him spending hours on the phone with them working through hosting/posting problems, while many others have said they could never get the guy to reply to a single support ticket. So the best description of his support would have to be "inconsistent."

      - If WPBlogmatic is actually a copy of BABS and it loads & posts properly, and if support responds quickly, it should be a very profitable program.

But...and this is back to opinion here - if Tassoni is really the man behind WPBM, would you really want to buy his program and get in the middle of this bad-blood dogfight between a man who's trying to steal from Bresko and a man who can't put his true name on his product because of his terrible reputation? Especially when there are many other ways to make good money in IM...from honest, calm program providers?

      - One more fact: When it comes to his affiliates, Bresko is an out-and-out thief. Affiliates who made a lot of money selling Bresko's products have never been paid their commissions...he simply walked off with them, thinking it would be too hard to track him or sue him. This has happened repeatedly...not opinion, verified fact.

So consider all this and see if you want to deal with these programs and the characters behind them.

Finally, more than 15 days after the purchase and because I was searching him actively everywhere, I got a refund from Paypal.

My lesson from this bad experience : i will ever check by email the seller if it still lives or not.

I just requested a refund for WPBlogmatic. I am curious to see how difficult this process will be. I have read the previous blogs with interest, but the legal stuff does not currently concern me. There are 2 sides to it, and without knowing for sure, I will not speculate on who is right.

I tend to be pretty conservative when it comes to requesting refunds. I wear big-boy pants and I can make an adult decision about buying a product.

I really have only spent the last week trying to get this product to work. It is not ready for production. I feel like I spent alot of money for a product that is currently barely in Beta.

If this were are sub $100 product, I would consider sticking it out. The forums are a ghost town...admins and users. The admin has been saying a new release is coming since mid-December, and still nothing and no word of it coming.

Lastly though, if they can get this thing out of beta, it has promise. I like the interface, and just like alot of product launches these days, this one under delivers. If they actual delivered what was in the sales copy and detailed videos, this product would be worth even more than the launch price.

I will update you on my refund request.

      Hey Melody.

Yes I was personally involved, in that I was one of Peter Bresko's BABS affiliates and ran a WSO for BABS v.6 (he's up to v.7 now)

I am one of the affiliates who made thousands of dollars for Peter, was owed thousands in commissions and, as mentioned above, was stiffed by Bresko for no reason other than he wants to keep all the money for himself, and feels certain he can get away with it.

I know some of the other BABS affiliates, we talk regularly, and he has stiffed them too, even ones who stayed very cordial with him (unlike me.) I realized he was stealing early on, accused him of it, and he summarily broke off all communications permanently...he didn't like being "found out." He used my "bad attitude" as his excuse for not paying me thousands, but other affiliates have stayed even-tempered with him, and he hasn't payed them either, so...I don't like to bash anyone on the WF, particularly one who has a decent product that really makes money, but that's just pure thievery.

It was in the process of hunting down Steve Porter (Peter Bresko) to get paid, my attorney and I researched him, and together uncovered all the facts I listed above. They're all legally verified.

Once again, it's sad that IM is littered with people like this. He's got a good product that can make him tons of money...why he has to resort fake names and welching on his salespeople is beyond understanding.

Totally agree with Seth. This guy Steve (Peter Bresko) is a thief, owning me a lot of commissions. PayPal closed his account. Crimanal charges are pending against him.

I had no previous experience with Seth, but have heard similar stories to yours and Seth's now from a number of people that I know.

What I do find odd though is that the people that requested the WPB contact details so that they could get refunds, have never returned here to post their results, and have never contacted me with an update, etc of their 'situation'.

It's odd because all of them had been QUITE active and vocal here before I sent them the contact details, or in several cases, contacted WPB on their behalf.

I don't understand why customers with a legitimate complaint would not want to come back and let everyone know the outcome, when they were so willing to complain before?

Momsbiz has never contacted me at all, here or directly. I am actually going to contact WPB today to see if the refund was ever requested and the status.

And yes, there are still some bugs - but they are getting worked out.

I agree that there are definitely bugs, and not all have been resolved. That part does not make me happy at all but since I am not personally involved in the legal action, I cannot state that I know the facts of either side.

However, one of the key issues of this case may revolve around an issue that has been very public involving the GPL foundation of Wordpress, and that is that anything that is built on a foundation of GPL code is also basically GPL code, unless it can operate as a 'standalone' separate from the foundational code.

My understanding of this is that any product built on WP would in essence be considered GPL since it could not operate without the underlying GPL code of Wordpress to make it function. If it calls to the WP code to function, then it is a derivative work.

I am not an attorney - this has all come from my own research and postings by the founders of Wordpress, but if this is the case - wouldn't it mean that technically you could not actually 'pirate' phpBay or BABs - since they are both built on the GPL structure and need it to operate?

According to the GPL - you can sell product based on the free source code, but you cannot copyright it or patent it, as it becomes part of the GPL 'parent' license of the code that it was built on.

if anyone has any legal background on this - would love to hear it!

That totally sucks. Sorry to hear about your experience with BABS. Hope you have moved on to some profitable businesses online and are getting paid without having to fight for it!

Thanks for the info. Was actually considering BABS as a replacement for WPB until I saw this thread and then dug into all the press releases by both sides to dig up some background. I would not buy anything by Bresko now after all this. Good info for all warriors to be aware of for sure.

    Hi Seth -

Unfortunately, it's not just the IM industry that is rife with these kinds of people - it's really any industry where we are selling services and goods and depending on the honesty of others to honor their contracts and pay us for our work....and yes, like you, I have been down that road. Sadly, to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars, which I will never be able to collect on (try fighting a legal battle internationally!).

And I agree that it is a shame to see good products bashed because of the 'mis-deeds' of their owner - but at the same time - if the person is not honest about paying the people selling the product - I would also be concerned about the support etc long term. No one wants to build a business on an unstable platform.....

Which, ultimately, to me anyway, is one of the BIGGEST problems with using ANY commercial component that is based on WP - it is in a constant stare of change - and if the company behind your autoblogging or storebuilding platform is not going to keep up with the version releases, we are pretty well screwed no matter what we do!

In all honesty - I was not having any problem at all with WPB until this week, and could not get the license server to acknowledge my plugin call. Support has been very responsive...in fact, I would describe it beyond the call of duty..but has it been fixed? No, but apparently William is the NE where they have been slammed with power outages, and web outages. He's been very good at keeping in touch and keeping me up to date on getting his connection restored.

BUT - that being said - actually getting a bug free install this time remains to be seen, and I will keep everyone here posted.

I do know that WPB doesn't play well with all hosts - I tend to only use reseller accounts so I can control my resource allocations a little better, so maybe that is why I haven't had some of the other issues until now.

At any rate, thank you, Seth, for the additional info. People that scam others don't seem to realize what a small world the web really is, and I do appreciate your taking the time to come in and some very valuable information to the thread.

Sorry it happened though - been there, done that and got the darned t-shirt. It ain't fun....

AUkev, I called Paypal on the phone and told them about the whole story of claims that it is pirated software therefore not as I thought it was. They take this seriously indeed. I told them that I was not getting any support at all and told them I wanted a refund. You should do the same if you want to get a refund. There is enough claims to support this. This is how I got my refund. Otherwise I seriously doubt I would have got one from the dodgy as hell vendors.!

I too have experienced this. I bought the product and let it sit for some weeks and decided to try it. Faced with installation issues, I went to the forum and discovered it was "closed for major maintenance".

I replied to the email I got with my key and promptly got a reply asking me to submit a support ticket, which I duly complied. It has been more than 10 days since that ticket was submitted and I have got no replies.

I was preparing to stick by the product till I discover this thread. I have asked for a refund by PayPal and also updated my support ticket. Cross my fingers I am going to get a refund. While $400 may not seemed to be a lot to many out there, it means a large chunk of my pay, which could have been better utilized.

While I am not interested in any legal claims which seems to be happening, I think it is more than fair to have my refund since I am not getting support and the product is not working according to the claims. I sincerely hope more who have bought the product to come out and claim a refund with PayPal (if you feel you want a refund, if you are comfortable with the product, by all means stick with it). This will trigger an alert with PayPal to do something about it.

Just my thoughts, money are hard to come by nowadays and we do not need more IMers who throw rubbish to the market. I know I have only myself to be blamed for buying into those stories on the juiced-up sales pagers. I still hope for the best though.

WPBlogmatic got back to me within a couple of hours of my sending over the details of your situation, and even offered to cc me on all communications with you. I declined, because, honestly, your business with them is between you and them at this point.

What is odd, though, is that I emailed you with everyone's contact details at WPB, and posted here that I had sent them your contact details and refund request - yet you have not responded to either my email or my post.

Could you please respond and let me know that you received the information that I sent and let us know whether or not they have contacted you, since I have taken the time to take action on your behalf??

I agree - very odd - just common business courtesy would be to at least acknowledge whether or not she received my emails or any response from WPB.

This whole thing here has been odd...but I still am in communication with WPB, and now that I am back in town, will be moving forward with using the software, especially now that the new version is due out next week.

    Hi Eddie -

I am not in the office today, so will send you the details when I am back at my computer - should be later today.

BTW - as I stated before - PayPal will not usually even get involved in anything that involves a digital download product. I have been down that road with them before, even when it did not work, was not delivered etc, and they still closed the dispute without refunding my money, so I am not at all surprised that you did not get your refund through a PP dispute.

    Melody,

Thanks for the contact info. I have made requests for more than a month to the tech support group as well as emailing all the contacts you sent me. Thanks for offering to help, but I have received ZERO communication from anyone there.

I am guessing it was a planned scam from the beginning. I think they build a shell of a program and planned to do this all along. There have been zero updates since the first release, plus they took the forum down a month ago for 'temporary maintenance' with no updates.

The software itself had so much promise, but for them to fall off, I see no other explanation.

    Thanks for assisting Melody.

I would resend your emails to tech support. I spoke with one of their programmers at WPB today, and he informed me that their mail server was "mail bombed" with like 20 million emails several days ago. (side thought, wonder who would do that or have that done?)

Anyway, to fix the server, hosting company purged all emails (both spam ones and real ones from folks like us) that were in the mail system. Take it for what it's worth, but until this, they've always responded to emails, so it makes sense something like this did actually occur.

Try resending and best of luck to you in 2011.

Same here. Guess I'm just waiting it out now like everyone. I hope for all of us, that they do start answering emails again and responding to all of us. Did you try going to PayPal to see if you can get a chargeback from them? I might do this as well myself since this product support is not looking good.

I'm sure that will be a pain in the you-know-what, but I don't see what else we have left to do now.

I was given a flat "no refund, please refer to the merchant" by PayPal.

Till now, no replies from them. But I do get a lot of spam mails from them promoting other affiliate products.

yea WPBlogmatic is a fraud. check out this page WPBLOGMATIC SCAM.

I lost my money on this. the forum is gone. but they still have the guts to spam me with their mailing list. its incredible the sheer balls it takes to do such a thing.

but BABS is probably no better at this point with the google algorithm update as well as amazon and other places changing their terms of service and not allowing you to use their content (from what I hear).

also with what i hear about steve porter/bresko from this thread its best to stay away from anything related to babs or wpblogmatic.

      Hi

Apparently BABS won his case against WPB and WBP cannot be sold or distributed as of Mar 10, 2011 according to this court order:

      http://wpblogmaticscam.com/wp-conten...inal_order.pdf

I don't know what the jurisdiction of a state court is as far as enforcing international sales, but I'll bet that WPB can just ignore the order from Australia.

The GPL issue is interesting and I wonder if WPB can use that as a defense, arguing that BABS has no more right to code based on WP GPL code that requires WP to run.

WP has gone after a number of high profile companies that sell WP based products, threatening to sue if they don't change their business model. DIY Thesis is the most well-known.

The idea of the WP GPL is you can make any theme or product, but must give the code away for free. Then monetize your efforts in other ways such as a paid support model. So free to download, but $79.95 for support docs and access to a support forum, for example.

As far as I know, WP has never tested their GPL in court.

Do some research on Peter Bresko and his history online to do your own due diligence before buying. Always a good idea. Why they don't use their real names on these products is a big question for me anyway?

    Good luck.

I was mostly wondering if you had any problems with the actual product and how it worked for you.

I've done my research and have heard good and bad about Peter Bresko/Steve Porter.

I've also heard good and bad about Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Sprint, Verizon and dozens of other people and companies.

I don't have any problem with someone using a pseudonym to sell something -- that's been going on for a long time. Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens was doing it over a hundred years ago.
