Warning: I'm an affiliate of this product.

I don't participate much in guru launches but I bought this product when Eben launched it to his own list.

First, I was blown away by the Freeline content. I even saved it.

Second, I purchased the product and it was very comprehensive.

Of course, it's not a cheap product. I think I paid the typical guru $1997 price.

The quality is excellent but I'm a little saddened by the fact that the people who need it the most probably won't be able to afford it.

Plus, Eben gave so many bonuses for buying the product I was amazed.

    He really over delivered.

Incidentally - I dislike launches immensely.

Any money I make from a launch I donate to charity. 100% of it.

And I rarely recommend a launch product.

So if Eben's pitch resonates with you - it's a good product.

    Does that answer your question?

    Peace,

    Harlan

      Not really. Obviously you liked it and you're a big fan of Eban's. Fair enough. We'll start with this;

What did you like about it? Specifically? Any dislikes (besides the price tag)?

The content of the course was outstanding. Eben really went into a deep understanding of money.

Lots of information I didn't know.

Lots of information I knew but Eben presented really clearly.

Like others, I am an affiliate for Eben and I've had the chance to review the Self Made Wealth program.

On the one hand, it is very good.

I really like Eben's presentation and teaching style and anybody who has "bad programming" over money and wealth will get a lot out of the self help exercises.

The first eight weeks focus on the way you think and feel and it's only in the last four weeks that you get to take action.

Like others I feel that he is pricing it out of reach for those who will benefit the most. That's a terrible shame.

It is a mass market product being sold at a premium Internet marketing price. I'd much prefer he cut the bonuses back and sold at an affordable price.

In fact if you take the advice in the program, many buyers shouldn't buy it in the pressure cooker environment of a launch and it shouldn't be financed by credit card.

For more details please see my Self Made Relief review.

For the right people, this is "change your life" stuff and therefore the potential value is sky high. But the people who need it most can't afford it. They don't have the cash available, shouldn't load up their credit cards to the maximum and if the normal Internet marketing pricing model applies, the part payment scheme will be very expensive credit.

I don't think I've ever been so emotionally conflicted about an affiliate product and I haven't sent it out to my list (yet).

As normal the pre-launch content from Eben is masterly and lives up to his established reputation but I keep coming back to the price.

It seems cruel to show people what they need and then let them discover that they can't get it. A bit like snatching food away from a starving man.

        Harlan mentions bonus overload.

I agree completely and it's a change in Internet marketing over the last few years that I don't like.

Eben talks about thinking and feel the right ways and then taking the right actions.

Excessive bonuses confuse you, put doubt and guilt in your mind (who doesn't feel guilty about stuff they've bought but not yet got around to looking at) and delay you taking the necessary productive actions.

It gets even worse when affiliate bonuses are added into the mix.

If you won the lottery and your cash pile is rapidly diminishing, I'd say buy Self Made Wealth. It will help you to preserve and increase the cash you've got rather than frittering it away.

If it's a choice of feeding the kids and stopping your home from being repossessed or buying Self Made Wealth, then don't go near it. Your needs are much too pressing and you won't get an immediate payback.

Get what you can from the pre-launch content and do whatever you can to stop your bad spending habits.

In between those two extremes it gets interesting.

This mustn't be intellectual entertainment - you need to commit to doing the self help exercises as if it was a classroom and Eben was in front of you. It's the only way to get value.

Self Made Wealth works by making changes inside you so the "bad programming" is fixed. If you don't change the programming, the problem remains the same.

There are couple of alternatives that I know that delivered the same value if not higher. The first one is actually attending a free 3 day Millionaire Mind Intensive event. It is only offered in selected cities now. For $2K, you can book a plane ticket and 2 nights of hotel to attend event and still have money left It's a very intensive 3 day event and you will walk away with a complete different view of money.

The second one is becoming a member of the Rich Life Club. It's a lot cheaper and you do get access to tons of video training on money, wealth, success, health, relationships and a lot more. It probably takes 3 months to go through all of them too.

These are life changing and affordable to people who are serious about reprogramming their money blueprint and disassociating themselves from non-supportive money beliefs.

okay so here is an honest review

Note that this is a re-launch of SMW. I bought it around couple (or maybe 1) of years ago for $497 (now its price is $1997). I have been through the whole course.

It is one of the best investments I've made. Its like Eben's Wake up Productive program for money and wealth.

In SMW, eben talks about psychology, mindset, belief system, narrowing choices and a lot of stuff like that. I've taken about 80 pages of notes from it.

So I can say that the program is really awesome. It will give you a new perspective.

                Okay, now the truth,

Since this is the relaunch, obviously I didn't bought it. Its $1997. I saw he included few bonuses to make it 1997. If you ask me would I pay 1997 for SMW?

                I will say NO.

Not because its too pricy, obviously if this program gives you a new perspective, then its priceless, I would love to invest this money on a financial planner, books, Jim Rohn's tapes and some awesome books.

Because in that way I can get more value.

                Will I recommend it?

If you are a newbie, already HAVE a business and if you can afford it. Go get it.

If you have experience or you don't have a stable business, go and buy some books on money and wealth. Get think and grow rich or warren buffet's snow ball, go get the audio narrated version.

Go for Wayne Harrel's programs. Go for Brain Tracy's programs and things that you can afford.

Bottom line: Its a good program, but its pricy.

Again I don't know what's the difference between the SMW I bought when it was released for the first time. But I can say for sure that the value he provided in that program, there isn't anything left to cover.

So the value must be same, but exaggerated to make us feel it has more value (no offence). But I still think Eben is a good marketer and an awesome teacher.

I'll tell you one thing for a fact, the pitch video is the most extreme example of a guru talking and talking and talking and... that you will ever attempt to sit through. It's almost unbelievable, it's endless. The same stuff over and over again, people don't have the money mentality, people don't have good money habits, over and over again.

It's still running as I type. It's sort of become a background feature of my life now. I doubt it will ever end. He's into the bonuses now, doing a full pitch for each one.

$1,997 so you can find out how to be smart with money? You figure it out.

Yay, bonuses have just ended and now Eben is going through the whole product summary again. I can't switch it off, I now NEED to know just how long it is going to run for.

If if doesn't end tonight I'll start giving you daily briefings starting tomorrow. Free of charge (unless you are poor in which case they'll be 10 bucks).

Yeah.. sitting through that video was a torture... couldnt even turn the volume down so that I could leave it running in the background. The whole video is close to 1 hr + but the register link will show up around the 50th-60th minute mark.. so be prepared (ish)

I think more people will buy the product cos of the affiliates bonuses.. some of the affiliates' bonuses are worth more than 2k themselves =.=

Yes guys, you too can learn the key to self made wealth by giving someone $1997 for some fluffy information you could get in a $10 book. How can someone not realise that you could get all this info out of a few good books written by people who make eben pagen look poverty stricken.

Pay me $1997 and I'll give you my golden rules of wealth creation - it would go something like this -

1 - Give people what they want

2 - Make more than you spend

3 - Release a course called something like 'self made wealth' and charge people $1997 for the privelage. There you go, now you have all the info you need. Millions will be yours.

I watched most of the sales video last night and MAN it was LONG! Had it going in the background while I was doing other things on the computer.

I do follow some of his stuff and I wanted to see how he did this sales video. I noticed lots of repetition throughout and wondered how many people really sat through the whole thing.

One other thing I noticed is that the length of the video was not visible, but you could pause and play it. I had this feeling like I HAD to sit through it to see how long it would be... I wonder if that's part of the reasoning as to why some gurus choose to hide the length of their videos. (Kind of like watching a bad movie and feeling like you have to see it to the end.)

I think it ended some time when I woke up this morning so I never saw the registration link.

I notice he states the obvious, but in interesting ways. So, your mind doesn't reject what he's saying. But, it feels like new information. For example, he just said, "Business uses money as one of it's tools."

And he repeats what he's saying, but in different ways. So, it sounds familiar and comfortable by the third time he repeats it.

I find it weird that this course is getting released at all if it's just general musings on how money works. Could Eben Pagen really look me in the eye and tell me I'd learn more about money from this $2k course than I would from reading the wall street journal or the financial times for a few weeks? I highly doubt it. Is he also gonna tell me anything different to what Henry Ford was talking about 100 years ago? No he isn't cos the rules never change. Innovate, automate, update and profit. Case closed.

Right on... that's about the only thing you can learn from any of these $1997 product guru's, just study their prelaunch pitches.

If you can mimic that in your own promotions succesfully, you won't need their product.

DannyUK lol... "It's still running as I type. It's sort of become a background feature of my life now. I doubt it will ever end. He's into the bonuses now, doing a full pitch for each one."

I could not watch it to the end as I came to the conclusion it was endless.

My question is why have all the bonuses that just are just info overload if the course is so good. Really the price is ridiculous - an actual seminar is a different matter, you leave pumped and motivated and done with it in a weekend. But $2.000 for a bunch of videos? I would rather hire Avatar and watch that 3 times, just as many "life lessons" to be learned there as anywhere else. One can buy a whole lot of books from published authors. I would not want to sit through more prerecorded video of this guy going on and on and on .... and on

There is no real secret, just keep at your plan, set goals and work smart - and hard. Keep grinding - to take a phrase from gamers who play WOW. These self proclaimed Gurus make it sound like success is reserved for a privileged few - it's not. And there is no big "secret" anyone can reveal. He just works hard and smart and has the right brain for what he is doing. Find what you are good at and stick at it and it will work for you. We are not all cut out to be multi-millionaires and nor should we want to - do you really want their life style?

    • Thank You For The Mention!

We have the notes for this full course from the first go around when it was sold and I have to say, I'm impressed with it! Worth $2K, yeah, if it ends up being THE wake up call that gets you to pull your head out of your ass.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this here already but I believe all of this could've been put easily into a book being that we fit all of the key concepts from the course into a PDF which sadly deprives you of 15+ hours of having Eben make love to your ear holes with his heavenly voice.

Where the value is, that couldn't be mentioned by Eben in his marathon sales video is that most people put a $15 dollar effort into a $15 dollar book. And, they put a $2,000 dollar effort into a $2,000 dollar 12 week course.

Just look at the language there. "Courses" are synonymous with colleges. Books are too but "Courses" are what are valued and seen as delivering the goods. The "Books" are just a tool.

Premier colleges can't get the same premium price for their "books" as they can for their "Courses" even though you can find most of the knowledge you would get in the course, in the books themselves.

Eben is an INCREDIBLE marketer. If you've seen any of his guru mastermind summits, you'll remember him bringing onto stage a copy of "Stealth Marketing" by Jay Abraham and explaining how Jay could get $1,500 for that book. Promise of value.

Eben just took what he learned from Jay and ramped it up another notch combining it with what he's learned from Wyatt Woodsmall about how people learn. And while the concept of selling this knowledge as a "12 Week Course" helps him create value that allows him to ask for the dollar amount he did, it also helps the people who buy the damn thing, consume it.

If people don't consume you product, they can't use it. They don't use it, they don't rave about it. But if they do use it and rave about it, they're eager to buy the next thing you roll out in front of them AND tell all the friends about how awesome you are.

This whole course concept wonderfully stretches out the content thus giving you the feel that you're aren't just being left alone with a box full of work, but that you've got a "Cool" teacher who's gonna step you through learning your wealth time tables in logical sequence so that they don't end up being the dumb kid who gets held back because he didn't get the support he needed with his homework.

Any info-marketers here would be wise to learn from this young Jedi marketer that is Eben! :-)

That being said, my business partner, Chief Nerd, since seeing this thread has gone out and read, in only 2 nights, "The Millionaire Fast Lane" and was wowed. He's told me to jump on reading it and now it's going on my Kindle today.

Maybe if I don't space out, I'll come back and give my personal review of the book.

I've just heard from Eben and he is making big changes to the Self Made Wealth offer.

        he says

"six killer new bonuses to theprogram - including 3 of their top business training programs. It's over $10,000 in additional bonuses."
That's certainly changed the value/cost ratio but I still think it's a shame the Self Made Wealth program isn't available on its own for a much more reasonable price.

Am I the only one who's getting seriously hacked off with all the emails about this launch now? I've unsubscribed from 4 lists this evening alone. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the 'apparent' scale of the launch, but it seems as though everyone except my Mum is pushing this !

Is it because of the reputation, ticket price or quality of product?

this sounds like a self-improvement course,
not a real secrets of the rich

he talks about how the average person would buy a car,
and let's say your financing it for $200 a month,

that is the wrong money-mindset, you have just bought a liability

what is the right money mindset

well, the wealthy would take that $200 a month and invest it at 12%
for 40 years and profit a couple hundred thousand
            [not sure if the 12% increase is per month or per year}

but anyway, where do you get 12% on the money you invest
            for 40 years

I've heard this same spiel for a long time with any wealth building course,

no one ever tells you where you can get this kind of return, they only talk about it before you buy their course

            anybody know, Eben???

99% of wealth courses can be summed in just a few verses from Proverbs
              (paraphrasing):
Don't take on any debt. (including mortgages and car loans - live on rent and buy a cheap vehicle you can get around in, not a $10k one until you can actually buy it. Real estate always appreciating is a lie - it keeps up with inflation and occasionally pays out, but not if you consider all the time and money you put into improving it).
Don't buy what you cannot afford to maintain comfortably. (that means if you just have $1200/month to put towards rent, get a place for $1k or a little lower so you know you'll be comfortably able to afford it.)
Work hard and don't be a slacker. (and don't try selling get rich/make money online ebooks to make money until you've actually made some money online).
Once you have money, invest it wisely (not in government sponsored ponzi schemes for example).

And the most important - STOP BUYING $2K REHASHED INFO PRODUCTS!

BTW, you want to know where to invest for 12% returns? PM me and I can give you quite a few solutions.

If you want to learn about wealth, learn from those who've made money in real niches and built a wealth out of it not from the 'unicorn niches peddlers' (get rich quick, get thin quick, get girls quick).

There are two vital wealth creation resources I highly recommend at a fraction of the cost of Eben's product. If you really want to learn about money, the source of money, and why you don't have money, these are must have items.

The first is Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco. This book is discussed in length on another WF thread. Read the thread and get this book now.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/internet...ting-down.html

The second is 'The 11 Forgotten Laws' by Bob Proctor and Mary Morrissey. Excellent audio course that I can't recommend enough. I've listened to it 5 times and find new information each time I listen. Like The Millionaire Fastlane, this product opens your eyes to the many myths of money and the secret to attracting it.

    Hope this helps.

One piece of advice I'll give, is if it is a product from a "guru" then run away from it. Especially if it is $2000.

Michael, that statement is useless without any further explanation.

There's a difference between guru's and guru's. Eben is the real deal though!

There's also a difference between marketers. Those that follow and implement advice from guru's and see results. And those that buy a course and let it catch dust, then complain that the product is worthless.

A product is worth the amount of time put in by it's buyer...

      Spoiler Alert!

I also forgot to mention, there are some parts of the SMW that I do not agree.

Like Eben said that its easy to make money but hard to keep it. I completely disagree. I was listening to the Jim Rohn and I got a an awesome advise, in his tape Jim said that its not the million dollar that is important, its the character that you develop in the process of becoming a millionaire. If you can make a million dollar without any scheme, scam or lottery, you can make it again and again.

Also its like a long good book Narrated by an awesome narrator. Just general education.

Also Eben forces not to spend on shiny objects like sports cars and big house. I completely disagree. If you have a company that makes $20 million dollar per year, you should get a good home and awesome car. Although its up to you.

      Example: Frank Kern

Frank has 2 big houses, many fancy cars (including Porsche 911), shiny objects and he throw money in seminars. He figure out a way to make money if he runs out of it. He enjoys everything he does.

      Example: Eben Pagan

He lives in a small flat in Las Vegas, owns a normal BMW (that's what I saw). Don't have any shiny objects. I have no idea what he do with the money he has.

So its also about perspective. SMW is a good program, but there are some parts I disagree with Eben. That's my honest review.

if it is a product from a "guru" then run away from it.
I disagree, I bought Frank's Mass Control, Brendon Burchard's expert's academy and many and they are some of the best investments I've ever made. They will pay you a ton if you IMPLEMENT them. If you don't like it, get a refund. Its simple. But its baseless you say that every Guru's product is bad.

I have always maintained that books you can buy, for often less than $10-$20, will give you a far more complete education than these hyped up, price inflated courses.

This felt like the only program Eben has produced where i questioned who he's really trying to target.

At $2000 the course didn't feel worth the money to me, but then again it's supposed to be targeted to people who need a re-evaluation of their finances. Maybe drop the price down to like $97 - 197 so people who really need to fix their financial lives actually get some use out of his teachings? I don't know, but this happened to be my least favorite course of his that I have been through.

I agree that Eben's stuff isn't for everyone, but I've been through a few of his courses and I enjoy the fact that he is very thorough with his ideas.

How did the material compare to The Millionaire Next Door (Thomas Stanley, 1996)? $10 versus $2,000.

Seems like most (all?) of the financial mindset books/videos released since then were based on that book. He had a follow-up book in 2000 called The Millionaire Mind and then Robert Kiyosaki released his now infamous Rich Dad Poor Dad (obviously inspired by Stanley's work).

Eben is a book worm. His book collection is huge. Some people need a lot of theory, then Eben may be for you. Unfortunately after listening to him for awhile he always manages to put me to sleep. Therefore I guess I'm more of a Kern person, and style of teaching does matter.
