Any of you Warriors join Daily Deal Builder yet? It just launched this afternoon.

The concepts and things in the video made for a fascinating presentation and I'm sure the Daily Deal model is really one of the hottest things since sliced bread. Was looking to get some more information though because they don't have a pause button on their video.

I have a couple of HC Consulting Group's products, and am even an affiliate for one of their products as you can see in my signature... Just looking to speak with someone who has just joined.

Any Warriors have feedback?

Thanks in advance.

John

You've been a member here since March 2009 so you really have had plenty of time to read the rules and to know that affiliate links are not allowed in signature files. That includes redirects from your own domain.

The concept looks and sounds very good.

So if I get it right you are basically setting up a site to let people advertise on.

        Site www.AreaDeals.com

You then contact local business and ask if they would like to advertise on your site which is in front of a lot of traffic. With a great deal? Possible half price. You then split the deal 50/50?

Am I with it so far.

So lets say a brick and mortar company wants to do a deal. Their product is $100, they slash the price 50% selling for $50.

        You make 10 sales = $500
You then split the profits 50/50 you take $250 and the local business takes $250.

So basically the local business has taken a 75% drop in revenue???

Would they really do that or am I just missing what the whole thing is??

Craig - thousands of businesses have done this successfully. It's pretty solid risk-free advertising to get new customers.

I've been learning all about this and these sites can work a few different ways and a few different parties are involved.

          Local merchant or product owner.
          Daily Deal site owner.
          Customer & subscribers.

The way that the businesses are typically able to see results is because the technology uses collective buying power. This is when a group of people come together and use the rule "there's power in numbers," to leverage the group size in exchange for discounts.

Up until recently, this really only happened with B2B transactions.

          The shift has occurred because:

1 - Daily Deal sites and the collective buying technology which allow steep discounts to the consumer AND sends a lot of new clients to the merchants.

2 - Social media gives us the ability to instantly share things with our entire network of friends using Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

There have been businesses that actually went in the hole by offering one of their services on Groupon - but this was only result of poor planning by the business owner to not properly price the discount correctly and not set a maximum number of units sold cap on the deal.

The daily deal and group buying sites can set a minimum number of units that must be sold in order for the deal to be "on."

After someone purchases and the threshold has not been met - they are encouraged to help promote the product via social networking sites to their friends and family so that they actually will get the deal. This sparks the user generated traffic that makes these viral because people want that deal and thus will share the deal via facebook/twitter/email/etc with all their friends to ensure the deal is 'on.'

If you are a local merchant or product owner - you need to figure out the minimum number of new customers that you need in order to offer the deal. Figure out what the value of a new customer is to you. Work out some numbers before committing to this. It's also important to set a maximum number that are for sale before the deal is sold out.

As the owner of one of these sites - we can charge businesses an up-front fee to promote one of their discounts on our site - OR we can do it for free with a split percentage worked out in advance (or a mixture of both ways).

There are quite a few of these sites popping up, but I've learned that the loyalty Groupon, Livingsocial, and the others customers and subscribers have is not really brand loyalty to them; it's simply loyalty to the great deals they bring to the consumer.

I'm quite aware that a 1 page summary in the Warrior Forum is not quite the whole equation.

Every situation and transaction that goes down is not the same and depends upon the daily deal site owner - and the local merchant or product owner.

@thomasmps: I am interested in your input on how the transaction works between the local business to the "deal site" to the customer.

TM- I am assuming you have list - you need to source a deal which means find a business with a good reputation that is willing to do a promotion with you. You need to structure the deal correctly because certain types of deals work and others dont, the price points are important for certain types deals and also the time of year is important.

If you have another feel free to ask.

John17 -I hope you were not taking offense to my statement,I am just trying to help. I am in this biz in a major way so I was trying to give some advice.

The video that they showed on the website is accurate BUT there are alot of details that were left out of the video. I hope those details are addressed in the training manual or you going to some things to figure out for yourself and it could be steep learning curve.

    any other questions?

if you want to learn how to make money driving traffic to these offers as an affiliate I can help you with that as well.

No offense taken at all Do you mind me asking who you do sales for and how your typical 'sale' goes on?

I'm a nueb to Warrior Forum.

All I can say is that I wish I found it sooner!

I'm a client, that is launching my Daily Deal Builder Site. I have all the mechanics in place, now comes the real work...

I'm putting together my rag tag team to manage the day to day, back office functions. I've got a couple more process to iron out.

Chicken and egg thing next up, gotta have offers (coupons), then I gotta have traffic.

I believe this thing will work. How well remains to be seen.

A bar / restaurant nearby did a groupon deal for $15 for a $30 coupon. They sold 1000 in 3 days. I was astonished that many sold!

Is there any other players out there doing a DDB site?

I am interested in Daily Deal builder as well - but their monthly rates concern me a bit - as they increase as your membership increases.

Memberships - aren't necessarily paying customers, many people sign up to all kinds of deal sites - but never buy. What about people that abandon those emails - but don't un-subscribe - I would be paying for them for years.

I wish there was a cap on it.

I can't provide a review as it is my company but am more than happy to answer questions. Feel free to PM me or just make it public here on the WF. Gearing up to launch a hosted daily deal aggregator platform also which would do really well to implement that aspect into your daily deal site.
